what are ur bobs burgers location theories...... i know it takes place in new jesery w/ some architectural inspo from san francisco but I don't know much about nj seeing as im not even american lol
Omg omg! I have so many thoughts about this.
So, for background, I’m from New Jersey. As a result, over the years, I’ve collected some theories as to towns that inspired Seymour’s Bay.
Asbury Park- yeah, like that one Springsteen album. It’s a very touristy area in the summer. There’s a boardwalk and a beach, as well as the famous Wonder Bar. I’m convinced that the Wonder Wharf is named after the Wonder Bar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keyport- this is a small town by the bay where you can see Manhattan straight across. I know Sam Francisco architecture was an inspiration for the buildings, but main street here looks too much like Ocean Avenue to be a coincidence, at least, to me.
Tumblr media
Red Bank- I love this town. It’s so funky and artsy. It’s not quite a beach town, but it is by a river! The architecture is also a little funky, which I think matches the vibe of the town. It’s very charming with a Seymour’s Bay type of uniqueness to it. I also think Lily is buried here, because Redburn sounds like Red Bank.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Long Branch- this one is a more affluent area, but it’s one of my favorite beach towns. There’s a boardwalk, some beautiful waterfront restaurants, and funky little shops.
Tumblr media
Atlantic City- do I even need to explain this one? AC is home to not only the longest boardwalk in the state, but in America. It’s probably the most famous spot in all of New Jersey. While I’ve personally never been, the boardwalk is iconic and I wouldn’t be surprised if it served as inspiration for Wonder Wharf.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keansburg- okay this one is more based off of one single personal experience. Over the summer, I was at the Keansburg boardwalk with my family getting hot dogs. We leave the hot dog place and I see a guy go by in a golf cart. Naturally, I turn to my mom and go “Mr. Fischoeder?” I mean, the guy was in a jersey beach town, at the boardwalk, on a golf cart! I genuinely started to question if I live in the show that day. And then we were walking along the boardwalk and I start to notice that the set up is a little too familiar. It looked like Wonder Wharf, especially in the movie. I can’t really find photos of the amusement park setup, but you have got to trust me.
Tumblr media
Some other thoughts that I have:
I think the location is around the Long Branch area. I remember in Sauce Side Story, when the kids go to Bottom Hook, my mom and I scrambled to find the maps app. There’s this town, Sandy Hook, that we think is supposed to be Bottom Hook, and Louise was saying how far it was from their town. We looked to see what town would be the same distance from Sandy Hook, and it fell on Long Branch.
I think Linda’s hometown of Hunkataway is named in honor of Piscataway or Rahway. We have a lot of Lenape area names around here, and that’s probably in reference to that. I wouldn’t be surprised if her accent was from Jersey City, though.
I believe the Wharf Arts Center is based off of the PNC Arts Center, an amphitheater that’s also the only place big names come to perform in the area in places than aren’t Newark, NYC, or Philly.
I’ve noticed that the Belchers, or at least Bob, fold their pizza, which is such a New Jersey thing. I felt so seen there.
Kings Head Island has got to be Long Island. The spot that’s just a ferry ride away and where all the rich people live?? That’s literally just Long Island, New York.
Remember last year when that one guy dumped literally hundreds of pounds of pasta in the woods and people were saying it was Jimmy Pesto? That happened in my hometown. Granted, it was on the other side of town from me, but yeah. Jimmy Pesto dumped pasta in my hometown ig
When Tina asked Tammy for Becky’s phone number in V for Valentine-detta, she said it started with 201. That’s a New Jersey area code and, according to my mom, used to be more widespread through the state, instead of a small bit in North Jersey like it is now.
I know the name Seymour’s Bay came from a joke with the crew, but omg what if it’s also in reference to Raritan Bay?
Not a theory, but my mom is so Linda coded and I’m very Tina. Like we’re actually them. I think I made a post once about how much my mom is like Linda.
That thing in local she-ro with the local celebrity was so real bc celebrities can be cryptid there sometimes. Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi will just show up to the local ice cream shop sometimes
In conclusion, I really love bob’s burgers and how New Jersey it is. And I will talk anyone’s ear off about it, like I just did. Thank you for indulging me 🫶

unpublished fics game
I was tagged by @mihrsuri (thanks, friend 💜) you know how much I love talking about my fics, so if you want to know more about any of these, ask away 💜💜Anyway, I'm gonna sort my WIPs into three groups, based on the level of their WIPness 😂 Level 1: Fics I'm Actively Working On
The First Lady - my ongoing project, a series of post-eps and behind the scenes, which answers the most important question of them all: what was Abbey Bartlet doing during the episodes she doesn't appear in. The chapter I'm working on at the moment is a post-ep for "Evidence of Things Not Seen", part 1. Contains a lot of banter.
Substance of Things Hoped for - post-ep for "Evidence of Things Not Seen", part 2. Contains a lot of barbecuing.
Day Four - what happens between Abbey's return and the state dinner in season 5, ep. "Shutdown". Features the First Lady dressing a nice bird, Millicent Griffith as the voice of reason and a lot of Angst.
The Proposal - exactly what it says on the tin. Features a Ferris wheel, a beaver plushy and the phrase "hens etc."
Level 2: Outlines + a Scene or Two
The Hospital Scene - A deleted/missing scene from "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen". Feature a lot of cuteness and too many references to Ronald Reagan.
It Never Could Have Happened in New Hampshire - Jed and Abbey spend the weekend at her parents'. Features a malpractice suit, golf, Vermont maple syrup, Abbey's ex-boyfriend and an MS episode.
Level 3: Just an Idea or WIP's I'm Not Actively Working on
Jethro the Snowman - a holiday fic. Inspired by Jed's quote from season 7 that Abbey's dad took him on a six-hour hike in the dead of winter after he proposed to Abbey.
Abu el Banat post ep - a sequel to Day Four.
The First Meeting - exactly what is says on the tin. Features a lot of gratuitous nerdiness.
The Dead Irish Writers Missing Scene - not sure when I'll finish this one, so far I have only two scenes and one of them needs rewriting.
Tagging (no pressure💜): @claudiajcregg @holy-ships-x-red-lips @miabicicletta @librarianmouse @temperancecain @krazykitkat @hondagirll @muldxr @onekisstotakewithme

It's possible they aren't from America
Yes that’s very possible and I’m gonna hope that’s their explanation. I was just confused because this is the second conversation we’ve had about whether Rafe is or isn’t something (the first being if he’s a golfer) and neither conversation makes sense because both are facts that are explicitly depicted or stated in the show 😭 like we saw Rafe out on the course with Topper where he proceeded to beat Pope with a golf club and then Saran and John B took a ferry from OBX to UNC chapel hill (which btw isn’t possible because chapel hill is smack dab in the middle of the state with no waterways leading to it, but I digress) so like… I’m just- whatever 💀
Well the golf conversation wasn't about whether he is one. An anon felt it was odd that he is one but I and several other people were like he's a rich southern white boy who probably belongs in a frat. Golf checks out for him. I can't picture Rafe playing any other sport tbh

Rescue workers tackled extreme weather on Monday in Slovenia, Austria and Croatia, with record floods, hundreds of landslides and at least seven deaths.
The storms have forced the evacuation of villages and caused major damage, with emergency crews braced to respond to landslides and potential dam bursts.
Flooding and lightning prove fatal
Most of the deaths recorded so far have been in Slovenia, where the extreme weather was reported to have killed at least six people by Monday.
They included two Dutch men believed to have been struck by lightning and four Slovenians thought to have been caught up in the flooding.
The natural disaster is the worst that Slovenia has seen since it gained independence in 1991. Prime Minister Robert Golob said the estimated damage ran at some €500 million ($548.3 million), and urged the European Union and NATO to provide help.
Experts say the conditions are partly fueled by climate change, which is linked to an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events.
Across the border in Austria, one woman was reported to have died after falling into the flooded Glan River in the southern village of Zollfeld.
The Austrian province of Carinthia had reported 80 major landslides by Sunday afternoon, while the neighboring province of Styria recorded 280 landslides by Sunday morning.
In Croatia, roads, fields, and settlements were flooded, with a state of emergency declared in various parts of the country.
Sandbags were used as makeshift dams to prevent major damage to residential buildings.
The situation was expected to ease in all three countries with authorities saying water levels were expected to drop on Monday.
Rainstorms wreak havoc further north
There was also stormy weather further north around the Baltic Sea region, resulting in airport delays, suspended ferries, and minor power outages.
Ferries between Poland and Sweden, from the German islands of Hiddensee and Rügen to mainland Germany, and from Norway to Denmark remained in harbor.
Police in the northeastern part of Denmark said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that "the weather is still harsh."
Fire officials in the capital, Copenhagen, urged people to stay away from parks and forests, saying "the combination of rain-soaked ground and storms increases the risk of trees falling."
Norwegian authorities raised the extreme weather warning alert to its highest on Monday because of heavy rain, mudslides and flash floods.
In Latvia, wind gusts of up to 108 kilometers per hour (67 miles per hour) were reported to have knocked over trees.
Meteorologists also reported hail the size of golf balls in the village of Apgulde, southwest of the capital, Riga.
Polish authorities said thousands of homes in the country were affected by power cuts on Monday after storms and heavy rain over the weekend.
Some 7,500 homes had no electricity on Monday in the northeastern region of Podlaskie. In nearby Warmia-Masuria, that figure stood at some 5,000.

Representative Ritchie John Torres (born March 12, 1988) is a politician from New York. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the Representative for New York's 15th congressional district. The district covers most of the South Bronx. He served as the New York City Council member for the 15th district from 2013 to 2020. He was the first openly gay candidate to be elected to legislative office in the Bronx, and the council's youngest member. He chaired the Committee on Public Housing and was a deputy majority leader. As chair of the Oversight and Investigations Committee, he focused on taxi medallion predatory loans and the city's Third Party Transfer Program. In July 2019, he announced his bid for New York's 15th congressional district. He won the November 2020 general election and assumed office on January 3, 2021. It made him the first openly gay Afro-Latino elected to Congress. As such, he is one of the nine co-chairs of the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus in the 117th United States Congress. He was born in the Bronx. He was raised Catholic but says he is no longer practicing. He was raised by his mother in Throggs Neck Houses, a public housing project in the Throggs Neck neighborhood of the East Bronx. His mother raised him, his twin brother, and their sister. He was upset by the $269 million city-subsidized Trump Golf Links built "across the street" in Ferry Point Park rather than housing for struggling New Yorkers; the course was built on a landfill, took 14 years to be developed, and opened in 2015. He vowed then to fight for their well-being. He attended Herbert H. Lehman High School, served in the inaugural class of the Coro New York Exploring Leadership Program, and worked as an intern in the offices of the mayor and the attorney general. He enrolled at New York University but dropped out at the beginning of his sophomore year. resumed working for council member James Vacca, eventually becoming Vacca's housing director. He conducted site inspections and documented conditions, ensuring housing issues were promptly and adequately addressed. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence https://www.instagram.com/p/CpsF1aDrQme/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Top Male Golfers from New Jersey
Tumblr media
The state of New Jersey has produced a series of world-class golfers over an extended period. Rumson-born Vic Ghezzi won 17 tour events, including the 1941 PGA Championship, while Arlington’s George Dunlap won the Intercollegiate Individual Championship playing for Princeton University multiple times before winning the 1933 United States Amateur title. Additional golfers of note from New Jersey include Eugene Homans, Jim Colbert, and Al Besselink. More recently, golf in the state has been represented by the likes of Harry Higgs and Scottie Scheffler.
Harry Higgs was born in Camden in 1991, though he began playing golf at Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, Kansas. He played college golf at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Following his college career, Higgs began competing on the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA) Tour Latinoamerica from 2015 to 2018.
Higgs won the 2018 Diners Club Peru Open. His results that season secured him a tour card for the 2019 Korn Ferry Tour, the PGA’s development brand. He excelled on the tour, winning the 2019 Price Cutter Charity Championship. Higgs’ strong results culminated in a top-five finish and a tour card for the 2019-2020 PGA Tour. Highlights from his first season on the tour included second-place showings at the Bermuda Championship and the Safeway Open.
The Camden native made his major tournament debut in 2021 at the PGA Championship, held on the Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Ocean Course. He showed no nerves on the sport’s biggest stage, shooting a bogey-free round on his final day to finish the event tied for fourth. His results at the PGA Championship qualified him for the 2022 Masters Tournament. He made the cut and finished in the top 15. He competed at the US Open for the first time in 2024.
Scottie Scheffler, meanwhile, was born in Ridgewood and raised in Montvale. He showed an early interest in golf and, under the tutelage of Justin Leonard, enjoyed prolific success as a youth athlete. Leonard, who has remained Scheffler’s coach for over two decades, helped Scheffler secure 75 victories on the PGA junior circuit before he reached high school.
Despite a series of injuries brought on by a growth spurt, Scheffler led Highland Park High School to three consecutive state titles while continuing to succeed as a junior golfer. He made his PGA Tour debut at age 17 as an amateur. He finished the HP Byron Nelson Championship tied for 22nd place and gained attention for a third-round hole-in-one. Before turning pro, Scheffler spent four years at the University of Texas. He led the school to three Big 12 championships, among other achievements.
Scheffler turned pro in 2019. He competed with Higgs as a member of the 2019 Korn Ferry Tour, with Scheffler earning the tour’s Player of the Year award. He was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year the following season, which was highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the 2020 PGA Championship. Later in the season, he secured two big wins for a victorious Team USA at the Ryder Cup.
Since 2022, Scheffler has established himself as one of the most decorated athletes born in New Jersey. He won his first tour title at the WM Phoenix Open and won the 2022 Masters Tournament a few weeks later. He secured the world No. 1 ranking during this time, a position he has held for nearly a year.
By winning the 2023 Players Championship, Scheffler joined Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win the event and the Masters Tournament within 12 months of each other. He repeated the feat in even more impressive fashion the following year, defending his Players Championship title in March and winning a second Masters title the following month.

Best Places Around the Area to See Fall Foliage!
Tumblr media
Autumn’s natural glory will soon be ablaze with color, making it a great time to plan your leaf-peeping. Mid-October is generally the best time to start seeking out fall foliage, and the colors can continue well into November. For an animated map showing the progression of color across the U.S., check out this online illustration from The Farmer’s Almanac.
So where should you go locally to experience autumn at its finest? Here we offer some of the best spots in the DMV for photographing fall scenery – whether it’s for dynamic social media posts, placing your pictures in a frame, or just taking snapshots with your mind.
Tidal Basin
Washington, D.C.
Spanning 107 acres, but just 10 feet deep, the Tidal Basin is well known for its lovely cherry blossoms in the spring, but in the fall these same trees turn a beautiful orange and gold! Enjoy a stroll around an easy two-mile loop.
Theodore Roosevelt Island
George Washington Memorial Parkway Arlington, VA
A two-mile path follows the island’s shore, moving into the swamp and tidal inlet where nature frames views of Washington, D.C. Buy the book “Finding Solace at Theodore Roosevelt Island” by Melanie Choukas-Bradley for an even more meaningful meander.
State Arboretum of Virginia
Blandy Experimental Farm Boyce, VA
Virginia’s State Arboretum spans 172 acres of tree and shrub collections dating back to the early 1930s. You can also experience the glorious golden 300 tree Ginkgo grove every fall.
Georgetown’s Cobblestone neighborhoods
Georgetown, D.C.
Georgetown is renowned for federalist architecture, cobblestone streets, and historic brick and frame row houses, some of which date to the mid-1700s. It’s also an origination point for the historic C & O Canal, a National Park which runs 184.5 miles into Cumberland, Md. Enjoy a fall stroll and consider taking a guided tour.
Rock Creek Park
Washington, D.C.
Created in 1890, Rock Creek Park is the oldest urban park in the National Park Service. Its 1,754 acres generally follows the Potomac River tributary of Rock Creek and includes a golf course, equestrian trails, an amphitheater, and picnic and playground facilities. It also includes Peirce Mill, a water-powered grist mill built in the 1820s.
Seneca Creek State Park
Gaithersburg, MD
More than 50 miles of trails wind through a variety of habitat, including the 90-acre Clopper Lake. A restored 19th-century cabin adds charm to your fall photographs.
Great Falls Park
McLean, VA
Three overlooks within a short walk front the Great Falls Park Virginia Visitor Center allow for spectacular scenery. Two of the overlooks are handicap and stroller accessible.
Great Falls Park
Potomac, MD
Visit the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center on the Maryland side of Great Falls Park, located at mile 14.3 along the C&O Canal towpath in Montgomery County, Md.
Shenandoah National Park
Luray, VA
Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Va., the park stretches 105 miles from the northern entrance in Front Royal to the southern entrance near Waynesboro. Skyline Drive is the main road running the span of the park – a scenic byway that can get especially busy during peak leaf-peeping times.
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park
Harpers Ferry, WV
Almost Heaven, but just a hop, skip, and a jump from the D.C. Metro area, Harpers Ferry is a time capsule nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains where the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers come together and continue eastward to the Chesapeake Bay as the Potomac river. Unfortunately, this fall’s rockslide stabilization project will make the travel to Harpers Ferry a bit tricky, so check your options online or through your favorite phone app.
South Mountain State Park
Boonsboro, MD
This 40-mile park weaves along South Mountain Ridge. Visitors can walk the same paths as the Civil War soldiers who fought at the 1862 Battle of South Mountain, climbing to enjoy breathtaking views.
Rappahannock River Heritage Trail
Fredericksburg, VA
This paved pathway makes for an easy walk, but don’t let the pavement fool you – beautiful views of the Rappahannock River, Old Mill Park, and several historic mills are seen throughout the trail.
