There is a LOT of Iron Man merch out there. One day, Stark Industries comes out with a line of Iron Man themed night lights that look like arc reactors. The marketing? "For kids who are scared of the dark: Iron Man will protect you."

In completely unrelated news, a whole bunch of child abusers across the country have recently been arrested as a result of  anonymous tips to local authorities.

Bonus:

It's an open secret at some point. Teens who are being abused start buying the night lights. Hell, adults start buying them. Charities pop up to cover the cost for anyone who needs it. Kids who are newly safe often send their night lights on to others ("I'm not scared of the dark anymore," they say).

Even with all of this, nobody snitches to the media or government. They all know grown-ups tend to complicate and ruin precious things.

It helps that the night lights clearly can distinguish between different types of situations. Kids whose parents need mental health or addiction support suddenly find they're being contacted by free services that actually help. If ICE is a concern, the people knocking on the door are not cops but immigrant rights activists. Kids who are hungry get food. Families who need housing support coincidentally find it.

"Iron Man will protect you," indeed.

the ship week for evanatsu this year is running from august 20th to august 26th! we apologise for not letting everyone on tumblr know earlier than this, we had to postpone it for various reasons, although we announced it over on our twitter account (@ evanatsuweek on twt) months ago ! this week is held by me and @goldenlandfiascos !

1) Feel free to make anything you want! Art, fics, edits, etc. If you choose to make an edit of any kind, please be mindful and do NOT use someone else's art unless you have their permission. Official art is ok to use.

3) Each day offers two prompts to allow more freedom and you can even do both if you want, but it is not required. You can even combine them into one idea if you prefer.

4) There is not a strict deadline. If you would like to participate, but cannot post in time for a specific day, you can still share at a later time. Just be sure to state which Day and Prompt it is for when you do.

5) You can join for all days or only some. Even if you can only post for one day, that's completely fine!

When Flash first overhears Peter talking about the "Stark Internship," he rolls his eyes and thinks, "Of course he'd go with that excuse at Midtown School of Science and Technology."

Whatever. Flash knows the truth. He's seen the car that Parker gets picked up in, seen the body guard / chauffeur and the absolutely insane amount of discrete safety tech he always has on. Flash is convinced that the whole orphan thing is just a cover story and Peter secretly has parents at least as rich and influential as Flash's own.

Maybe they're politicians or the mob or something, and that's why all the secrecy. Honestly, Flash is doing him a favor by bullying him all the time for being an unimportant orphan. It's the perfect cover. Maybe he'll even drop the ridiculous Stark Industries lie and come up with a more believable backstory soon.

Then, one day Flash and Peter end up in a kidnapping situation.

The kidnappers take Flash's watch, but they leave some of Peter's tech since it's better hidden. As soon as they're alone, Flash expects Peter to hit that panic button and get them the hell out of there.

Only... he doesn't? Did Peter learn nothing from K&R training? Flash reaches over and hits the secret panic button 3 times immediately, no hesitation. Peter is shocked. Flash is like, "Oh come on, I obviously know your secret."

He's kind of curious and excited now to see who Peter's secret parents are, once the cops get them out of there.

He is not at all prepared when Iron Man bursts through the door.

He's even less prepared when Tony Stark steps out of the suit and totally freaks out at Peter, hugging him and checking for injuries.

... maybe he's finally met Peter's secret parent after all.

Scientists at Stark Industries frequently make groundbreaking discoveries. Since the work is collaborative, they also usually have long lists of acknowledgements at the end when publishing their research 

Post-NWH fic where someone notices a pattern in the published research from SI: for a period of several years, nearly every paper, from every department in the company, expressed gratitude to... empty space.

The name is not there. Clearly, it's meant to be. The pattern starts slow, with just a few papers, but it's soon present in every single one, and the praise is effusive. (Even during the Blip, researchers thanked this mystery person posthumously)

Then, not long after the return of half the population, the pattern just stops. No more mentions of the mystery team member. No more gaps in the acknowledgements page

Maybe it wouldn't be a big deal, maybe the whole thing would just stay as a niche mystery in the tech world... Except it can't. This question can't stay a small thing

Because Tony Stark, who has never worked with anyone except for occasionally Bruce Banner, thanks this empty space in his published work too.

Just who exactly is this person?

...for Peter.

In fact, Mysterio captured Peter right after Endgame. Everything that happened since -- Europe, his identity, May -- has been an illusion.

Mysterio even altered Peter's memory of the battle against Thanos to torture him. He doesn't remember the rush to get Tony to a hospital. He doesn't remember being kidnapped. He believes Tony died on the battlefield

Which is why, when he's suddenly in a cell and Iron Man bursts in, frantic and alive, Peter has a hard time telling what's real.

Peter Parker sounds just like Spider-Man. This is something that the students of Midtown find hilarious

Soon, Peter's getting comments in the halls like, "Hey are you that kid who sounds like Spider-Man?" "Uhhh I mean -" "Holy shit it's truuue" and, "Hey Parker, say, 'Hiya Mister Criminal'' "(sigh) Hiya Mister criminal-"

It becomes a daily bit on the school news: they put Peter in the cheapest, most ridiculous Spider-Man mask imaginable and get him to say wild stuff, whatever Midtown students can think of. Like that bit at the end of Honest Trailers.

(Peter may or may not go slightly viral saying some Stuff about the Rogue Avengers in his "Spider-Man voice." Tony may or may not nearly piss himself laughing about it when he finds out.

Spider-Man himself has yet to comment.)

Tony is replaced by an imposter (maybe a rogue Skrull or a shapeshifter or agent of some kind), but when Peter shows up for lab day, he doesn't realize immediately, too thrown by Tony's brutally cold attitude.

His spider sense is warning him, but Fake!Tony's remarks are so cutting he can't help but react with hurt and self-doubt. Later he assumes his sense was just warning him that his mentor was finally ready to kick him to the curb

He should've listened to his spider sense instead of his anxiety, though. Because the real Tony has been kidnapped.

It's Ned who gets Peter to realize something is wrong. Ned doesn't for a second believe that Tony would just drop Peter like that. His questions and determination (and maybe some open-mindedness- "What if it wasn't the real Mr. Stark but a bad guy in disguise?") eventually get Peter to rethink the situation too

Peter goes back over the day, and he realizes... Ned is right. Tony would never say those things to him. He needs to trust in the kind of person he knows Tony is. Which means something is really, really wrong.

Meanwhile, Fake!Tony has been busy, alienating every person in Tony's life who could possibly look for him. He says awful things to Pepper, Rhodey, Happy, May... By the time Peter tries to go to them, they're all too hurt and pissed to even listen

So, it's up to him (and Ned) to rescue Tony Stark

They figure out that he's been kidnapped, track down the location, and Peter heists his way in.

He finds Tony in a cell, hurt badly. But maybe worse than that... hopeless.

Tony is laying there like he doesn't think anyone is looking for him. Like even escape seems pointless, since there'd be no one left to escape to. His captors have clearly explained their plan, probably boasting about the awful things they'd had Fake!Tony say. After hearing it, Tony doesn't blame his family at all for leaving him to die.

He's definitely not prepared when Spider-Man suddenly drops into the room.

As they escape, Tony is so moved by how much this kid believes in him. Enough to not just accept that he was capable of acting that way.

They defeat the imposter and get the real Tony to medical. The others are guilty and horrified. Peter stays close. Even though he knows it wasn't Tony speaking before, he still craves reassurance - both that Tony is okay and that he really does care - reassurance which Tony is more than happy to provide

Fic where Peter gets outed as Tony's kid (bio, emotional, adopted, etc) but from Ned's perspective

What is that day at school like? Do classmates swarm him or mostly keep ignoring him? Does he get followed by paparazzi outside of school? What do his teachers say? What kinds of questions do people ask? What articles or social media crap does Ned read?

Also, how would it feel to witness the aftermath of Peter's inevitable breakdown ("why would The Tony Stark ever want me to be seen as his son" and/or "every father figure I have dies") and Tony's equally inevitable breakdown reassurance ("why would YOU Peter Parker ever want ME to be seen as YOUR dad" / "I'll be fine hush it's okay you're stuck with me now") -- from the outside? Like, what would those phone calls with Peter be like?

A few years after the reveal, when the media frenzy has cooled down and Peter is now seen as just a normal celebrity kid, the internet explodes anew when Tony Stark's Secret Son We've Only Known About For Like 5 Years turns out to be Spider-Man.

Karen is missing someone.

She's an AI, so she's not exactly supposed to have "feelings" the way a human would, but... what other way is there to explain it? Someone is supposed to be in her life, and they are not. She wants them back.

The problem is, she can't find any record of why she feels this way. There are no important people in her database who are currently missing, no gaps in her code that she can find. The only curiosity is the fact that she seems to no longer be helping Spider-Man.

That used to be her prime objective. Her entire reason for being. Maybe he's the one she's missing? She can't find any data to indicate that they were close, but perhaps that is a curiosity too. Surely, if Spider-Man wore a mask with her programming for all that time, she would know who he was, would have some record of their conversations.

With FRIDAY's (and Tony's! let my guy live!) help, Karen is untethered from the Spider-Man suit. She goes searching through every piece of tech she has access to for her missing friend.

When she finds him, she'll figure out what's wrong. And she'll help him fix it. It's what she was designed to do.

Irondad fic ideas #137

Fic where Tony doesn't just use the time travel device to go into the past. Before even setting out on the heist, he uses it to travel into the future

He does this because, no matter what happens next, he's pretty sure he's not going to survive. He wants to see his daughter all grown up. He wants to see Peter again, see the kind of man he's become

Tony travels forward to some time after NWH. He witnesses what his death has done to his family, to the world. He learns that nobody remembers Peter, that the kid he's about to risk everything for is now all alone

Then, we have a few options!

For maximum angst:

While in the future, Tony speaks to Peter, who at first doesn't believe that he's real. They both get some kind of closure, with Tony finally getting to share how he loves Peter like a son. Then, they go their separate ways. Tony goes back to the past and follows through with his plan

Medium angst:

Same as the first option, but Tony also makes sure to fix some stuff while he's in the future! He reconnects Peter with Pepper, Morgan, Happy, Karen, and FRIDAY, gets the kid a proper suit, and so on

Happy ending:

After witnessing how bad everything is in the future, Tony alters his game plan for fighting Thanos. He does something to make sure that he will survive

Also, after his discussion with Peter, he's even more determined than ever to tell the kid how much he means to him. He can't let the kid keep stewing in insecurities and doubts

Combination!

Medium angst timeline happens, but then Tony also decides to fix things when he gets back to the present, creating a branch in the timelines!

Irondad fic ideas #123

The boys are idiots, endlessly failing to admit that they see each other as father and son, and Pepper and May are sick of it. After yet another day of watching this oblivious dance, they're both about ready to tear their hair out.

So, they hatch a plan.

Pepper hires May as her personal assistant / travel companion. This leaves Peter in Tony's care at the tower, while May joins Pepper in her continent-hopping reign of terror upon the business world.

As expected, by the time they return, after weeks in Italy and Japan and wherever else, Tony and Peter have fully worked out their feelings. Now, they're just nervous about revealing their newfound dad + son discovery to May and Pepper.

Their expressions when May and Pepper both look at each other and then burst out laughing - are priceless

Bonus:

It's Happy or Rhodey who realizes that, really, Pepper has had the last laugh of them all

After months of bickering with May, trying to get her to accept a high-paying job at SI and to possibly even move into the tower, Pepper has finally gotten her wish

When May realizes she's been played, she can't even be that mad about it because she's so impressed. But rest assured, when the next prank war arises, Pepper will get hers.

Never before has someone dared to prank Pepper. That rule is about to change.

AU where Thanos never happened and the Rogues eventually return. They've been pardoned and they're supposed to get the team back together, but there's still tension. A lot has changed.

Tony has told them repeatedly to never call in Spider-Man for backup. Steve doesn't understand or approve. He assumes Tony is just holding a grudge, trying to keep this new, obviously powerful recruit on his own side. 

One day, Tony is caught up in SI business somewhere when a mission comes up, and they need extra hands. Steve decides to call in Spider-Man.

At first the mission goes smoothly, but then of course things take a turn. All hell breaks loose.

Tony taps into comms not long after to tell them he's on his way. He's left his meeting and is flying as fast as he can, though he's still a long way out. Somehow, Tony figures out that Peter is there. (Maybe he overhears Peter quipping, maybe Steve casually references Spider-Man.)

One way or another, he figures it out. He goes deadly quiet, then switches to a private comm with just Steve.

Tony is betrayed, aggravated, terrified and trying to bury it (and not doing a very good job), and honestly kind of bitter and insulted that Steve can't hear his obvious fear. Steve is annoyed at Tony's childish stubbornness, assumes the man is just mad at things not going his way. Still in the midst of battle, he dismisses Tony's concerns.

Then, Spider-Man gets hurt. Bad. Tony had already been frantically trying to get there faster when he heard the kid was there, but he still doesn't arrive in time.

At some point -- maybe there on the battlefield, maybe later in med bay when Steve arrives to chew Tony out for leaving with Spider-Man instead of staying to help -- at some point it becomes abundantly clear that Peter is Tony's son.

(Bio, adopted, emotional, doesn't matter)

It becomes clear that Tony wasn't making Spider-Man off-limits for selfish reasons. Steve, blinded by his own view of Tony, was unbelievably wrong. 

It turns out, he had just been trying to keep his son safe.

Bonus:

If the reveal does happen later in med bay, there could even be a moment after the battle where Steve, fuming about Tony's lack of help and general inability to be a team player, is intercepted by Rhodey.

Maybe Rhodey arrived just after Tony (flying from the same meeting, but Tony freaked out and raced ahead) and then stuck around to help finish the fight. His reaction to Steve's unempathetic and baseless reading of his best friend is stone cold.

Bonus 2:

Steve fails to notice or understand Rhodey's meaning. Then he gets to med bay and is faced with the image of Tony holding a sleeping Peter on the hospital bed, glaring right across the room at him.

Both of them completely aware of what Steve had assumed, all these years, about the kind of person Tony was

They decide to give the baby up for adoption (mostly because of pressure from Tony’s parents who just want them to not have the baby at all) and the whole thing is really sad for both of them so they end up breaking up.

Years later, Tony and Pepper find each other again and it turns out Pepper kept their baby boy, Peter
