Now that I’m all caught up on the first season, I’m actually pretty excited for the next one (which according the promo starts July 21st on Freevee). I didn’t think the show would continue because of the whole global pandemic thing, but I’m glad that it has been revived. 

Overall, I thought it was a solid first season. It veers into a lot of action genre cliches from time to time, but then it subverts others, which makes me think it’s all intentional and meant to keep you guessing. 

Samantha Richelle is the epitome of the phrase “small, but mighty,” and I am so so glad that she’s not being portrayed as a possible love interest. That’s a rarity for American television and film.

But I have to say that Arthur Acuna’s Ernesto is my favorite character on the whole show. His deadpan delivery and sardonic responses to Chris’ shenanigans crack me up. But I especially love it when all 3 of them are fighting together (against others, of course) in a scene. The trio plays well off each other, not just in chemistry and dialogue, but also as a fighting team.

The other major plus about this series is how I feel like I’m learning a lot about the Philippines, and it’s giving me a chance to see more Asian actors on my TV screen.

Fun fact, Lena Cruz who plays Peters mother in Love Me also plays Nates mother in Limbo. Bob's got one Filipino mom on speed dial. I'm joking of course but it's still pretty neat!
