Monday, January 8.
Glamorama at the Globes.
We like our Globes how we like our Rules—Golden (see also: Girls/Bachelors/Compasses/Ratios, etc.) Fortunately, last night saw The 81st Golden Globe Awards, honoring the crème de la crème in film and American television, and they did not disappoint. There were awards to be handed out, a wealth of tea to be spilled, and history to be made. There were also acceptance speeches to be read, and people to thank—unless, of course, in exceptional circumstances.

During the scene where James Stewart hiccups when drunk, you can see Cary Grant looking down and grinning. Since the hiccup wasn't scripted, Grant was on the verge of breaking out laughing and had to compose himself quickly. Stewart (apparently spontaneously) thought of hiccuping in the drunk scene, without telling Grant. When he began hiccuping, Grant turned to Stewart, saying, "Excuse me." Grant turned his head to stifle his laughter and said, "Nothing". The scene required only one take.

The start of 2024 has been kind to me. I’m starting my classes in media law, innovation, and creative planning. I’ve lost some friends that weren’t good for me and simultaneously made some new ones. My girlfriend and I are planning to move to a new city this April. It’s stressful… but it’s good. I really have high hopes for this year 🩷

Answer Time: Emerald Fennell
If you're into answers, the sands of time, and iconoclastic filmmaker Emerald Fennell, then do we have a treat for you.
The beloved director and writer of terrible little spider baby OCs has just released Saltburn, and y'all have a thing or two to say about it. It seems you've had questions aplenty, too. Fortune has conspired in your favor, as she has graciously taken the time to sit down with @overchers to answer some of said questions in this extremely special, and unexpectedly sweaty, Answer Time.

If you're interested in Emerald's creative process, are curious about the film's distinctive look and aesthetic, or indeed, if it simply tickles your fancy, you can find it right here.
