wano spoilers, ch. 1036-1042
i watched the ryuma one-shot before i got to the zoro vs king fight in wano, so only now i can appreciate the name of it even more! this connection between shimotsuki ryuma and zoro keeps getting better and better
plus the parallels of kaido and king, vs luffy and zoro are so insane! smth smth about saving a person (from navy/government) and they become so loyal to you and will want you to become the king of the pirates with their whole being, where your dream becomes their own in a way. different situations and people, but there's something soooo similar, it's very interesting! (one piece really doesn't have any captain and his right-hand man with just normal relationship aksjdskjd)
(and the luffy flashback!! even this one small panel of luffy from the mihawk fight and zoro promising to be stronger for him! to stand in future as the greatest swordsman beside king of the pirate!
it's so impactful! it's incredible how much it still gives zoro the strength after all that time. i will have to watch the anime of these parts, bc i read there's their first meeting scenes reanimated! can't wait to see that!)
zoro becoming king of hell after his fight with king and because of his enma sword?!! the sword that chooses its wielder and which wouldn't serve anyone weak, which recognizes what strength means to zoro and what his dreams/goals are?? incredible, brilliant, showstopping!
and then zoro seeing death itself?? and telling it not to kill him!
it rlly makes me wonder of these consequences of the drugs he took to become stronger. (which is another stuff i keep thinking about zoro and how he always thinks of himself as weak, not strong enough.. theres a lot to unpack here, but im so tired ;-;)
+ few chapters later, 1042, there was also one panel with luffy vs kaido that caught my attention, with luffy covering his mouth saying 'don't leave me yet, strength!' which is kind of unusual for him to say to himself something like that.
(which in combination of these two fights, where it could be assumed they're happening simultaneously, it's an interesting similarity - where neither zoro or luffy's body is listening to them much. one almost dead, the other losing strength...)

I get two fucking sentences in on every new draft for every new idea lately, and then my brain goes 'hm, no, actually that's stupid/boring/cloying/not going to be something you can write at your current ability'
I am. vibrating with rage at my brain rn over this bout of writer's block. Bro we literally want to die whenever I go longer than like. a fucking week without writing SOMETHING; why the fuck are you making this harder!!!!!! Just let me write a full fucking thing even if it sucks!!! but i literally physically start to feel sick and can't push myself to keep typing as soon as the above thoughts hit. I have a stupid number of untitled, barely started to almost completely done drafts, for multiple fandoms (mostly our flag tho admittedly lmao), all of which have been started within the last maybe fourteen days.
i wanna scratch my brain out of my fucking skull lmao. free to a good home after i get it out, if anyone else wants to try and rehabilitate it

trauma is so wild like what do you mean it’s been seven years. what do you mean it still makes me sick to my stomach. what do you mean this has forever changed how i view myself and my relationships with others. what do you mean that happened to me. what do you mean i can’t remember it. literally what. what do you mean i can never be normal about this now. what.
#i finally worked up to read the journal entries i wrote about this very specific trauma and i feel sick to my stomach over it#reading it like…that girl i was was real? she was real. i don’t remember her but she is me?#and i can feel myself regressing from it#i’m leaning back on those same coping mechanisms again and it’s…sigh#i just can’t believe it happened to me#and who would i be if that never happened to me?#how do i ever grow past it?#how will i ever be okay? how will i ever fully recover? can i fully recover?#last night was so rough for me when i finished reading those journal entries#i went into some weird manic state where i suddenly had to know everything about me during that time#i downed half a bottle of tequila and tore apart my room to find my old phone so i could read all my old texts from him and everything i#ever told anyone about him#i had to know#and i was listening to the playlist i made about it#it was just ugh#i never really worked through any of this like every therapist i’ve had i’ve skipped over this because i couldn’t face it#and now i want to face it and i don’t have a therapist anymore 🙃#this is entirely my fault for consuming a piece of media i KNEW would be triggering but thought i’d be immune but too bad now im in it#i just wish it never happened#it never should have happened#ugh#sorry#vent post#i’ll probs delete later#but for now i’ll throw it out into the void that is my tumblr feed#trauma

I have made
the rough
of an improv card game
#It's late and I'm feeling impulsive it's fine#My subconsious offered a story-driven randomized roleplay game in a dream last night#The dream version was obviously fancier but for a rough draft it is cute as fuck#Made with two pieces of paper (I just realized I can make more cards from the scrap of one of them heeheehoohoo)#I've made the board and 12 cards as the starter pack and they're all adorable#The board is just a simple L-shaped grid with seven spaces - the dream version had something close to double that#I think making it modular/with expansions similar to card packs (lol) would make it infinitely replayable and expandable#Not that a longer game with more players would necessarily be more fun but it's still something you could do! Lol#Recommended number of players on the current model is 3+ with one of the players acting as the GM#The full version is also 3+ but with a little more wiggle room for early game - I think it could comfortably host 5+ including the GM?#Anyway the plot is a whodunit where the third player (including the GM) plays as the murderer - their goal is to get away with the murder#While the other players' goal is to find out who did it and why and then apprehend the criminal#It's not as set in stone as Clue - like there's no murder weapons or necessary locations - all that part is improv#The cards are all either Character or Location cards - Characters are easy to understand archetypes that the player has to embody#But depending on the order players draw cards determines what role they play in the story - so say they pull the Mad Scientist card#If they pull first then the Mad Scientist is the host of the party that the murder occurs at - if they pull second then the Scientist dies#And so on#So anyway I finished all the art for the Characters (9) and Locations (3) and they're all adorable I love them#I tried to make most of them gender neutral or at least open to interpretation but a couple of them lean a bit more one way#It'd be silly but the idea of special edition cards with alternate art to lessen the disappointment of getting a double sounds fun haha#Anyway - I'm gonna see if I can playtest it tomorrow :)

#HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAV FICTIONAL TWINS!!!!!! I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY HERE#okay so I started this SEVERAL months ago and their bday gave me the motivation to finish!#while I think this far is my best work I have such an emotional attachment to this one#when I was finishing this up last night I put on blossom from porter Robinson and just. this artwork combined with the song and the twins’#relationship just BROKE me.#blossom IS a romance song with context but I love interpreting it as just a really strong bond between two people#like these two have such an unreal sibling bond and it breaks my heart. Wendy did everything to keep her sister after death and Abby even#persists after death JUST to be with her sister. it is so sad and so beautiful and it kills me#like how close do you have to be to literally conquer death in a sense?#while all this doesn’t exactly relate to this pieces mood at all I just want to emphasize how much I love these two and their relationship#willow is my favorite character but I think these two have my favorite story and relationship. they are everything to me.#ANYWAYS LMAO#went for a children’s book vibe with this one!#snorlarts#wendy dont starve#abigail dont starve#dst
