Hey I was just wondering if you could do a finney x fem!reader where he has a huge crush on the reader but he dosnt know how to tell her so he stutters and embarrasses himself so much but somehow [you can chose how] he finds enough confidence to finally ask her out but overall he's just an awkward blushing mess maybe you could tie it all together with a reader being finney first kiss thank you so much!!
Awkward As Hell
Tumblr media
Finney had a crush on you for as long as he could remember. You lived just down the street from him, and since the moment he laid eyes on you, he was head over heels. However, Finney swore up and down he didn't have a crush on you. It was obvious to anyone with eyes, and especially his sister, Gwen, who constantly teased him about it.
"Oooh, Finney! Stop making heart eyes at Y/n and come help me carry these groceries in!" Gwen shouted from the front door. You were in your front yard, helping your dad out in the vegetable garden. Finney blushed and gave Gwen a spiteful glare.
"Could you keep it down! What if she heard you?" Finney whisper-shouted and grabbed a few paper bags from the backseat of his dad's car.
After bringing all the groceries in, him and Gwen were unpacking them in the kitchen, while their dad was sat in the living room.
"You know, if you like her so much, why don't you just ask her out?" Gwen whispered in a quiet voice, and Finney immediately froze, dropping the can of corn in his hand onto the floor. He heard a loud sigh from the other room, and winced. "Sorry, daddy!" Gwen called out before facing Finney, rolling her eyes.
"I-I can't ask her out! She's way out of my league! It would be so embarrassing." Finney huffed, stacking the cans of food in the pantry.
"Oh yeah, because stalking and drooling over her isn't embarrassing." Gwen chuckled as she folded the paper bags and stored them in a cupboard.
"I-I'm not stalking! Or drooling! I'm just... admiring from a distance." Finney huffed and Gwen let out a chuckle again.
"Yeah, sure. That totally doesn't sound creepy at all."
The next day at school was relatively normal for Finney, except for the increasing number of posters hung up around the school, letters in all different shades of pink, red, and purple, exclaiming in big letters "Valentine-grams!"
Robin stood next to Finney, stuffing books in his locker, meanwhile Finney was staring at the poster. His school did Valentine-grams every year. He of course, had never received one, except from Robin whom was trying to make Finney feel better about not getting one.
"You should totally get her one, dude. I mean, thats better then just, swooning from a distance, right?" Robin chuckled and slammed his locker shut, making Finney jump a bit and break him out of his trance.
"H-huh? What?"
"A Valentine thingy! Get Y/n one. Trust me, chicks dig stuff like that. You should get her a rose from the supermarket too. Not a whole bouquet. Just one or two. Get her a rose, a valentine-gram, and boom! You'll get your girl." Robin smirked, feeling proud of his advice.
"B-but, I'm not smooth, or cool like you! What am I supposed to say? Just 'oh, here Y/n, I have a huge massive crush on you and have secretly been swooning for you ever since you moved in down the street from me'? H-hell no! She'll totally reject me!" Finneys cheeks were once again a bright shade of pink as he imagined the whole scenario play out.
"The worst she can say is no. Besides, you've been rejected by girls before. You can totally take another blow man, you're strong!" Robin playfully punched Finneys shoulder, causing him to Wince and rub the area where he was punched.
"Wh-whatever. You're right. The worst she can say is no." Finney murmured, giving Robin a nervous smile. "Thanks, Robin."
Finney begged his dad to let him borrow some money, and through enough chores and good grades, he had finally convinced him to give him enough for Valentine-grams on the very last day to purchase them.
The next day, Finney waited excitedly in homeroom, waiting for the grams to get delivered, he kept glancing at the clock, then the door, then the clock then the-
Suddenly the door burst open and one of the office assistants came strolling in with a box of small teddy bears and mini boxes of chocolates. Only a few of the kids in class had gotten one, and he thought all of the grams for his class was passed out when suddenly he heard his name.
"Finney Blake." A small stuffed bear and a box of chocolates was placed on his desk, and for a moment, Finney was sure he was dreaming. Or maybe Robin had pitied him again, or maybe it was a cruel prank. He frantically reached for the note attached to it, but it gave no clues as to who sent it to him. All it read was "To Finn, from Your Secret Admirer" the handwriting was fancy, and all the i's were dotted with little hearts. Finney felt his cheeks warm up, and a smile spread across his face. He glanced over at you, and for a split second, he swore he saw you staring at him, but you quickly looked away so he figured that perhaps it was just his imagination.
School seemed to drag on even longer then usual. When that final bell rang, Finney couldn't have been more relieved. Except now was the hardest part of the day, confessing to you.
Finney rushed to the local supermarket after school, using some of Robins generously provided money to buy one single rose. The cashier seemed to find it funny how nervous Finney seemed.
After the supermarket, he took his sweet time walking over to your house, dragging his feet while aslo trying to give himself a pep talk. "You can do this... you've got this, Finney. Worst she can say is no..." he let out a silent breath.
"Finn?" He heard his name called and quickly looked up to see he was already in front of your house. You were standing on your front lawn, in a flowy white sundress. You smiled at him, and Finney suddenly felt all of his confidence drain out of him.
"Oh- h-hey Y/n! Uhm, funny uh seeing y-you here!" He laughed nervously and you chuckled and walked up, opening the gate of the white picket fence and inviting him in.
Finney smiled and nervously fidgeting with the handles of the plastic bag from the supermarket, which held nothing more then your rose and some of your favorite candies.
"Well, this is my front yard! Its more funny seeing you here! Did you... need something?" You looked slightly nervous and a bit confused as you glanced down into his bag to see the rose.
"A-ah uhm, y-yeah! I actually wanted to talk to you!" Finney hummed and quickly pulled the rose from the bag. "Th-this is for you! A-and I also was the one who got you the Valentine-gram..." Finney felt his entire head turn a bright shade of burning red, probably as red as the rose he handed to you. You chuckled and brought the rose up to your nose, taking a quick smell of the flowers fragrance.
"Wow thank you, Finney. This was really sweet of you!"
"Y-youre welcome! Uhm well actually, I got it for you as more than a f-friend thing. I-i uhm- crap! Sorry, this is awkward as hell! I'm so sorry I really suck at th-"
He was cut off as you quickly leaned forward, pressing your lips onto his. Finney gasped against your mouth, and for a second, he was frozen in shock. After a second or two, he smiled and closed his eyes, leaning into the kiss and dropping the bag in his hand. It was messy and a bit rushed, but it was everything Finney could've asked for. You tasted sweet, like strawberry chapstick and vanilla. Finney felt a shock of electricity pulse through him, making every hair on his neck and arms stand up. Finney had never been kissed before, but this was just about everything he expected and more.
You silently pulled away, giving him a smile and chuckling a bit. "I really like you too, Finney. I was the one who sent you the Valentine-gram. We should go out sometime."
"U-uh, yeah! Welp- you know where I live so, uhm- yeah! I'll see you later." He huffed and very quickly jogged off to his house, silently cheering to himself as soon as he got past his door. You giggled and picked up the bag, finding your favorite sweets.
Sure, he was awkward, and nervous. But he was also kind, and the sweetest boy you've ever met, even if he did kind of suck at kissing.

warnings!!: mentions of bad parent relations, breakups
like most nights, this one was miserable. rain poured down drenching the aura around. y/n was wet down to the bones. small flows of lightning swam through the clouds lighting up the surrounding.
it seemed to be fight after fight, i didn’t matter if it was with their parents, friends or best friend. no matter where they went arguments sparked and burned them.
that night was worse then it ever had been, her mother spoke words she knew she didn’t truly mean. y/n never forgot words spoken out of anger.
the words rang through their head over, and over, and over again. “maybe you should leave, all you’re doing is annoying everyone”
in y/n’s mind that translated to we don’t like you, we don’t want you. like being kicked out by the only people you ever loved, heart wrenching pain snuck it’s way though their veins the farther they ran.
no particular place in mind, y/n just needed to get away from it all.
the storm rolled in quicker, wind picking up and thunder rumbling closer. the grab-n-go. of course that as the only place still open at this time of night.
y/n pushed on the door, ringing the bell over their head mixed with the howling noise of nature.
there was nothing they could do but wait for the storm to lessen. roaming around the store to seem busy, boys pushed and shoved each other around the infamous pin ball machine. she knew who was there.
y/n kept their head down, tear stained cheeks didn’t mix well with fluorescent lights.
eventually y/n had came face to face with the last aisle, the end showed the boys whom had been making all the noise.
y/n paced themselves walking down that row, not wanting to reach the end to quickly.
to say y/n was sad was an understatement. anxiety crept through their veins now, all that they had know just threw them away. deep sense of dread flooded their mind, heavy thoughts ran like a river. feeling how it felt to no longer have unconditional love, nobody ever realizing how damaging that really is.
every step brought them closer to the end, pace after pace. their mind never silenced. it spoke so loud they hadn’t noticed how close they’d gotten to the boys. stopping themselves before running into them.
y/n raised their head only to be faced with the one and only boy who’d ever broken their heart.
vance.
for a moment it was like the whole world had stopped, their mind stopped, the sounds muffled in her ears.
he was exactly what they needed, what they missed. even if both of them were chaotic, they brought unspeakable peace to mind.
like starting death in the face, beautiful calming death. their worst nightmare but only need. they didn’t dare to speak a word in fear their voice would fail them.
like stabbing in their heart, pain intensified over their body, they weighed heavy to the ground.
vance glared over feeling the presence of someone not in his little group, a smug look covered his face till he noticed it was y/n.
his hands stopped playing as his mind lost focus, friends behind him confused looked at eachother then over at y/n, reading the room they stepped away from the two.
vance stepped away from the pinball machine examining y/n’s face as he approached them.
“you’ve been crying” damn those fluorescent lights. y/n spoke lightly “no i haven’t, it was the rain” they waved their hand towards the window. “yeah right, i wasn’t born yesterday y/n, what happened?” his hand moved brushing stray hair from their face
the warmth floating off his body was enough to crack y/n, tears swelled within their eyes once again, parting their lips and taking a deep breath y/n went to speak
vance stepped closer rubbing his thumb over their cheek, his voice was gentle in a way you hadn’t heard in a some time “tell me what happened” y/n slightly leaned into his hand as they began to speak.
“my mom…” was all they got out before the water works hit, that was all vance needed to hear pulling them into a tight hug.
vance waves bye to his friends as he took y/n out helping them into the passenger seat of his truck.
knowing the last place y/n would want to go was home, he took them to his place. his parents weren’t home.
y/n glazed outside watching rain drops racing down the window, the lightning light up their small town in ways it never had before.
stormy nights are just like stormy thoughts.
vance had brought them inside, handing them clean dry clothes and starting the shower, y/n was chilled to the bone from the cold drops of the sky.
he waited for them outside the door, sat against the wall thinking to himself.
the bathroom door creaked open to reveal a much warmer looking y/n, his heart skipped beats at the sight of them in his clothes once again.
pushing himself from the floor his body moved faster then his thoughts as he embraced them.
y/n had no fight left within, falling into his arms.
a safe place that never seems to run out of safety.
that’s what he was for them.
vance took them back to his room, “get comfy i’ll be right back” y/n nodded, exhaustion filled every inch of their body, back clashing into the mattress their eyes laid heavy.
it wasn’t long before vance had returned handing them a glass of water and a plate with their favourite cookies on it.
y/n smiled sleepily accepting his offer
they spoke few words as they shared cookies, warmth finally wrapped around the pair as y/n’s eyes closed small hums coming from their lips, vance smiled to himself taking the glass from their hands placing it on the nightstand.
he turned off the lamp beside him, wrapped his arms around y/n he sighed holding their body to his own.
vance was at peace once again.
y/n was safe in her mind.

Warnings - kidnapping, blood, mentions abuse, the grabber
————————————- ☏———————————
It was one of those times where my dad was between jobs, he couldn't afford the rent for our apartment so we moved back in with my uncle Albert. He had a nice job and a nice house big enough for my crack head dad and I to live comfortably without having to worry. Albert didn't like my dad, he said he was a dead beat and stupid but he didn't want to have his one and only niece on the streets.
I sat sprawled out of the couch flipping through channels when I felt the couch dip. I lifted my head to see Albert sitting there. I smiled "Albert?" He hummed in response "do you know where my dad is?" I asked. He shook his head, "I've gotta go out you think you'll be fine alone?" He asked. I furrowed my eyebrows and nodded, "yeah of course" I replied as I continued to flip through channels. "Okay great, remember don't go down to the basement" I rolled my eyes and nodded "I know."
"Okay I'll be back in a few hours" he lifted himself off of the couch and grabbed his keys off of the coffee table that was littered with newspapers and remnants of my dads drugs. "Love you" he said as he began to walk out the door. "Love you too" I replied.
Once I heard the door lock and his van start up I sighed, turning off the tv. I huffed as I walked into the kitchen. I peered down the stairwell that lead to the basement to see the door cracked open. I furrowed my eyebrows, normally it was closed and locked. It was always closed, he must've forgotten. I didn't know exactly what was in the basement but I had theories. Maybe a secret lab where he created bombs or something, but that wasn't very realistic so the most realistic thing I could come up with was a collection of guns or weapons he didn't want me to get into. He did have a massive black dog that was mostly used for security so it wasn't far off. I slowly walked down the stairs, pressing my hand against the wall so I wouldn't fall. Once I made it down to the bottom I grabbed onto the door and began to pull it open.
It was large, metal, and heavy so it took me a bit of strength to open it.
Creek.
Once it was open I saw there wasn't any weapons or lab, just a mattress, and a black phone on the wall. On the mattress was a boy, curled up. He has blonde curly hair. My uncle was hiding a boy down here. "If you come near me I'll beat the shit out of you" he growled. I recognized that voice, the hair, the denim vest. It was vance hopper, I had only seen him once before he got grabbed. But I'd recognize that voice anywhere. Vance went missing two months ago, he's been down here for two whole months and my dad and I didn't even notice. "Holy shit" I whispered "holy shit oh my god" his head whipped up. "Who the fuck are you?" He growled, "y/n my names y/n I live here" I replied quickly. I slowly walked towards him cautiously. I knew what he was capable of. He had dirt and blood covering him, his hair was a mess, and his clothes had rips in them. "He's not home" I whispered, "I- I can get you some food, do you want me to get you anything?" He nodded slowly. "Can you help me? Get out. I thought.." he sighed wiping his face harshly "I thought I'd be able to do it myself, you know kill him? But I can't I just fucking can't" he sighed tears pricking at his waterline. Vance hopper wasn't the type of boy to cry ever or even ask for help, so I knew he was serious. "I- yeah..I can help you" I now stood about a foot away from the mattress. "But I don't think we can do it now" I replied stuffing my hands in my Jean pockets. "What do you mean?!" He asked harshly as he tried to stand but almost immediately fell back onto the mattress. A lump formed in my throat, did my uncle take those other boys too? Did he kill them? What was he doing to vance that made him so weak?
"W-what is he doing to yo-you?" I managed to whisper. "You don't want to know" he said shaking his head. "I- we can't do it now, he's to strong, you're to weak, he's double my size" i said as I walked closer. "We're gonna have to make a plan, to get you out of here" I continued. He nodded, I was finally close enough to see the wounds he had all over his body, bruises, cuts, most of them looks like belt marks. I dropped myself down the mattress next to him. Dust flew everywhere as I sat. This place was disgusting, the walls were uneven, and it looked like there was blood stains all over the bed. He side eyed me as he furrowed his eyebrows, "what are you doing?" He asked.
"We're gonna make a plan, he's not gonna be back for a few hours." He nodded and then asked "can you get me some food, or water." He asked before sucking his bottom lip between his teeth. "Yeah- yeah! Of course" I said quickly getting up and running towards the stairs, making sure to leave the door open. Once I made it to the top of the stairs I was panting. I pressed my hand against the wall as I catched my breath. My heart at pounded against my chest and my breaths were short.
It finally set in, my uncle was a child abductor. He was the one who took Griffin staggs, and billy showalter. He probably killed them, they're bodies are probably in our backyard. Tears pricked at my eyes, my uncle was a bad person, the uncle who stepped in and raised me as his own when my dad was to high to care, the uncle who'd let me curl up next to him when I had a nightmare, the uncle who let me stay at his house while my parents were fighting. I covered my mouth as I let out a sob and sank to the floor. And now I had to kill him I couldn't let him hurt anyone else. Vance was going to be the last he'd ever grab, and I was going to make sure of it.
I stood up quickly and wiped my cheeks. I wasn't going to cry about it . I continued my way towards the kitchen. I opened up the fridge and got a bottle of water and placed it onto the counter before opening up the freezer and grabbing a TV dinner. I sighed as I shut both doors and walked towards the microwave, as I unboxing the TV dinner. I opened the drawer beside the microwave and pulled out a knife and a fork before slamming it shut. I made a few slits in the area where the main dish was, and took off the plastic from the dessert area before throwing the knife into the sink. I placed the tv dinner into the microwave, and I set the timer for four and a half minutes and closed the door. I watched as the dinner spinner slowly as the microwave made a light buzzing noise. Once it made its loud beep signaling it was done I took it out and grabbed the fork and stirred the dessert before placing it back into the microwave and setting the timer for another two minutes and waited. Once it beeped again I took it out and let it sit so I wouldn't burn myself.
Once about a minute went by I decided to pick it up instantly hissed and dropped it back onto the counter. I groaned a i caressed my palm lightly with my thumb. Another minute went by and I decided to try again. I slowly inched my hands towards the dish before carfully grabbing. This time it was just warm. I sighed as the warm feeling engulfed my hands. I then grabbed the water bottle, and fork. Then I  carefully walked towards the stairwell. Once I finally made it down to the bottom of the stairs I sighed in relief before nudging the door open slightly with my side. Vance was now sat up his back. Pressed against the wall. His head lifted slightly just making sure it was me. I smiled as I walked towards him. I placed the TV dinner down on the mattress and handed him the water. He opened the bottle, the seal making a cracking sound as he twisted the cap. He lifted the bottle up to his lips and sighed as the cold water entered his mouth. "Holy shit" he muttered as he twisted the cap back on and brought the cold bottle up to his cheek. I then proceeded to sit next to him as he brought the TV dinner up onto his lap. He peeled the plastic off of the dish and stabbed the fork into the chicken. "How did you get down here?" I asked quietly as he stuffed the food into his mouth. "I think he hit me with his car, I can't really remember."
"Oh" I whispered softly, "I want to go home...I want to see my mom" he whispered back. "You are, I promise" I shouldn't have made that promise, something could've happened in the span of a day. But I was going to make sure he got out of here alive. "We're gonna kill him...together"
"Yeah kill him" vance muttered with a small smile on his face as he spooned a scoop of mashed potatoes into his mouth.
"Have you tried making any like traps?" I asked he furrowed his eyebrows, and squinted his eyes. "What do you mean?" I rolled my eyes and said "like digging a hole in the floor, setting up a string to trip him?" He shook his head slowly. "The last time I even tried to escape this happened" he muttered as he raised his hand showing me the belt sized welts covering it. "Oh..well you're gonna try, dig a hole set up something to get him down" i pulled my knees up against my chest, realizing just how cold it was down there. "I'll figure out how we're gonna kill him"  Vance's eyebrows furrowed together "I just want to get out of here." I nodded placing my hand over his gently. He quickly pulled his away rolling his eyes "I know you do but I want to kill him I can't let him hurt anyone els-"
"Y/n/n? Hon?"
"Shit! That's Albert..I'll see you later vance!" I whisper shouted as I quickly jumped up off the mattress as I sprinted towards the door. I swiftly ran up the stairs just in time to meet him in the kitchen. "What we're you doing y/n?" He asked as opened up the fridge and grabbed a beer bottle. "Nothing" i muttered back as I stuffed my hands into my pockets and rocked back and forth on my heals. "Hm..you didn't go down to the basement did you?" He asked as he popped off the bottle cap and took a swig. His face scrunched up before he sighed at the cool relief of the liquid running down his throat. "No sir" i mutter, "good" he then bent over slightly to press a kiss to my temple. I can admit that uncle Albert was a little weird sometimes, maybe a bit too touchy at times, sometimes he'd say things that just sounded a bit inappropriate for him to be saying them about me. But I just assumed he just worded his sentences badly.
I looked up at him my face contorting into a scowl. I couldn't look at him the same after finding out what he had been doing. He was no longer my uncle. "You okay honey?" He asked as he ruffled my hair trying to get a laugh out of me. I nodded my head and pushed his hand away. "You want a soda? I got more soda while I was out" I shrugged my shoulders and proceeded to take a seat at the table. Albert frowned slightly and walked back over towards the fridge. He grabbed a soda and then popped the top off. My hair sat infront of my face shielded the the angry expression on it. I told myself I'd act normal like I didn't discover a missing child in our basement, like I didn't just find out my uncle was kidnapping and killing boys my age in his free time. I just couldn't though, I couldn't act like nothing happened, like he didn't hurt vance, Griffin, and billy.
He sat down in the chair across from me and slide the bottle of sprite my way. He then reached over pushing the pieces of hair that hid my eyes behind my ears. "What's got you so mad kid" he asked as he placed his pointer finger under my chin, and pushed my face up so I was looking his directly in the eyes. I shrugged my shoulders and took a sip of the sprite in front of me.
-
It was now about ten pm. I laid in bed tossing and turning as usual. Too much on my mind to be able to fall asleep. Why was he doing this? Would he hurt me too? Why did it have to be him?
Why?
Why?
Why?
I tossed and turner, and kicked the blanket on and off several times. I couldn't stop think. My thoughts were racing a mile a minute.
Creakkk....
Then the door creaked open. I quickly squeezed my eyes shut and tried to stay as still as possible. Soft tiptoed foot steps made they're way to me before I felt a calloused hand on my cheek. The familiar smell of alberts musky cologne lingered on they're body making me recognize them easily. His thumb caressed my cheek softly before I felt a piece of my hair get pushed back.
"I know you're not alseeppp" he said in a hushed sing song voice. My eyes slowly opened to see his face directly above me. He was bent over a small smile plastered on his face, it was soft, genuine. One i'd take as comforting just day ago. "Can't go to sleep?" He whispered, I nodded slowly pulling my blanket up closer to my chin. "You wanna come lay in my bed?" He asked, I didn't answer I just stared up at him. He obviously took my quietness as me being sleepy and push my blanket off of me. "Come on" he said grabbing my hand and helping me out of bed. I didn't say no, then he'd know something was up. Before I'd never pass down an opportunity to sleep in his bed, it was big, soft, and he had the thickest most warmest blankets in the house. He lead me out of my room and to his that was just across the hall. I hopped up into his bed and he tucked me in. "I'll be right back..I've gotta go check on some..thing" he said pressing his lips to my forehead. As he walked out of the room I turned on my side. It was all starting to make since now, the way he'd kiss me on the cheek (A little too close to my mouth), the way he touched me, the inappropriate comments. It was disgusting.
About ten minutes later I felt the bed dip, and a loud sigh fell from my uncles lips. I turned around slowly, the sheets making a crinkly sound as I did so. His head sat in his hand, small red patches littering his white shirt. My first thought was that he killed vance, my heart pounded out of my chest.
He killed him.
He killed him..
He killed him...
Then I saw the large gash on his arm, I sighed in relief, he didn't hurt him. It was most definitely the other way around. "Damn it" he groaned, he then began to slam his hands down on his knees "damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" It was loud but not loud enough to disturb the entire house. Just a loud whisper. "Al?"
He quickly turned around a the large frown quickly turning into a smile.
"Are you okay...you're bleeding" I whispered, his eyes widened and then he swiftly wiped the blood off his arm. "I'm fine, I just hurt myself that's all" He said with a smile and a wink. He then began to scoot closer towards the head of the bed. "Let's go to bed. I can let you stay home from school tomorrow...how does that sound?" He laid down facing me and held his arms out. "C'mere" he said quietly, i scooted into his arms. My head fell onto his chest. His body was warm, almost comforting. Almost, it hurt so much. It felt as though my heart was torn out of my chest and stomped on, until it was just a heap of mush on
the ground.
The man I grew up with as almost a father figure, was a murderer, a kidnapper. He was the grabber. He hurt kids my age, would he hurt me if he needed to? My emotions over took me, a sob racked through my body. It was too much for my brain to handle. "What? What's wrong?" He whispered as his left hand rubbed small circles into my back. I didn't answer I just let the tears fall and fall. I wanted to go back, to yesterday. When I thought he was good, when he was my uncle not a sadistic man. Sobs shook my body, tears and tears flowed down my cheeks. "Shh, shh it's alright" he whispered.
It wasn't alright.
It wasn't fucking alright!

griffin was the kid you babysat ever since he was a 5, since his parents were always on work trips (hc ofc)
u met vance at the grab and go when u bumped into his pinball machine, he cussed you out but didn't beat your ass or anything since he was just practicing (or so that was his excuse) and everyone was like "damn how did she not get her ass whooped😧"
vance then saw u at school and asked in the most calm way he could (which did not work out because it sounded like he was yelling at you.)
"WILL YOU GO SKATING WITH ME THIS SATURDAY?"
which then to that you said "im so sorry i would but i cant , i have a babysitting job this saturday."
vance then tried to walk away but before he could you started talking again.
"the boys parents aren't strict! you could come with me and we could all watch movies together! he would love you!
and to that he said yes
spoiler alert, griffin did not love vance. another spoiler alert, the feeling was mutual.
as you walked to the door to greet mrs stagg going to a meeting, she stopped and said hi to you and vance, you called her prior to explain that you had to study with him (which was kind of a lie but you heard him and his teacher talking about his grades so you thought, sure why not help him with his grades!
as you said goodbye too mr stagg, griffin walked downstairs running to hug you and as u both pulled away he say vance.
"who are you?" griffin said crossing his arms over his chest
"vance." vance said not liking the tone the 10 year old boy was taking with him.
"why are you in my house."
"because your babysitter is helping me with my grades"
"so what your saying is your an idiot?"
"WHAT?"
"ok ok lets calm down"
"well at least you have y/n shes very smart she helped me get an a"
griffin walked away to go watch gravity falls on tv. (another headcanon lolz)
"he called me dumb."
"vance, hes ten."
"still."
"i assure you you're not dumb, you just need to start paying attention in class."
you and vance started working on science, something vance was stuck on.
when griffin spoke up
"y/nnnn"
"yes griffin?"
"im bored!!"
"well i guess i can take break"
"i need help!" vance said with a pout that was barely noticeable
"well my needs are more important then yours u bush!"
"WHAT DID U JUST CALL ME??"
"vance hes ten!"
"a stupid ten year old."
"vance!"
"thats why u cant do basic science!"
"griffin apologize!" you said with a stern face
"he thinks hes more important than me!".
"you are both important so you both better apologize or im telling your moms!
that seemed to get their attention as they both shook their head no and started apologizing
"vance, im sorry for calling you a bush.
"and im sorry for calling u stupid."
"now hug it out." you said smiling
"what." they both deadpanned
"you heard me, hug it out mamas boys."
they sighed and eventually gave each other a side hug.
as the night ended, you tucked griffin into bed, finished your homework with vance , and greeted mrs stagg as she came back from her meeting, you both said goodbye to the hardworking mom and headed hom.
vance walked you too your door thanked you for the help, and u gave him a kiss on the cheek
you both agreed that you'd go see the new chainsaw massacre movie next friday, and went too sleep with butterflies.

Also, the reader and Vance reunite?

Warning(s): cussing, violence and that would be all.
Spoilers for the black phone below!
Tumblr media
Finney didn’t know who you were, of course, he knew the others but you were a different story. You’re voice was oddly deep and raspy, probably from too much yelling. Seems like you getting beat by the grabber was more brutal.
Vance didn’t know about your death, until today. You basically taught Finney how to fight. It would probably be easy to kill him.
But the question is..who were you? And how did you die by the grabber? You were probably the first, which was true, you were.
“Hey.” Finney heard a voice say and he slowly turned around seeing it was you, “Jesus, you scared me.” Finney said, placing a hand over his chest.
“Get up.” You told him, he did as you said as you stood in front of him, you slowly circled around him as he watched with confusion, what were you doing?
“You wanna get out of here, right?” You asked, he nodded, he saw as you placed your fist up, getting into a fighting stance, “This way, whenever you’re ready to start your plan, you kill that bitch.” You continued, he followed your lead as he watched.
It was awhile after the both of you were done, Finney watched as you sat down on the bed from across him, he grabbed the phone and placed it to his ear.
“So..what do we do now?” Finney asked, you slowly turned to him, “You see that window up there with the bars on it? Well, you need to grab that rope and wrap it around the bars, pull as hard as you can. And when you do, you need ti find a way to kill him, I’m helping you, and this would probably be the last time you hear my voice, but follow what I say and you just might live.” You explained, Finney nodded.
He stood up as he was about to hang up the phone, “Thank you.” Finney said, you stood up and walked behind him, he was confused until he heard a yell.
“IT’S NOT ABOUT HELPING, ITS ABOUT REVENGE.” You yelled, Finney still held the phone to his ear, “W-What?” He said, still confused.
“FUCK HIM!” You yelled, it echoed as you got dragged back into the darkness,
“Hello?” Finney said, “I called, and tonight is the night you escape.” You said, Then another voice came on the end, your eyebrows furrowed with confusion as you wondered who this was on the other end?
You knew who finney was, who is this?
“Hey, who are you?”
“Who am I? Who is this?”
You glared at nothing, The dried blood that was over your face made it seem like you just killed someone but it was really you who died.
“Wait..I- I recognize that voice.” The voice whispered, it sounded a lot like..
Vance?
“H-Holy shit, Y/n, is- is it really you? Why have you never responded to my calls? Where the hell are you?” Vance asked, “I’m sorry Vance, I’m dead. I died..and the only reason why you don’t know is because that bitch over top of us hid it so well. My body is buried somewhere around here..I just don’t know where.” You explained, you scoffed as you kicked the wall beside you.
“I really have to go now guys, he’s coming downstairs.” Finney chimed in, the room grew dark, Finney looked around, trying to see where you were.
then when he turned forward he saw you there, he let out a little yelp when he saw you, your eyes were teary as you felt a tear fall from your eye.
Then, you stopped inches away from him, he was breathing heavily as everything was quiet.
“And I said…” he covered his ears as he knew what was about to happen already, the walls began to shake as the bottles broke.
“KILL HIM!” You yelled, unfortunately again, you got dragged back into the darkness.
It echoed, he could still hear you yelling.
But then again…
It was all about revenge.

chapter twenty-nine | little talks

“Help me,” you whispered, so lowly you worried it was too low for Travis to hear a thing you said. “I can’t stay here.”
The wind howled wherever he was outside of camp, and car horns blared in the background. Outside of your bedroom, your dad raged in the hallway, steadily making his way to your room. One by one, thick bangs indicated new holes in walls. Rachel was screaming, too, but not in anger—she was pleading with him to stop, as the baby screamed like he never had before.
That had set him off—Finney’s screaming in the night. Maybe it was a nightmare, or maybe he was in pain. Nothing changed. And you had no control over it.
“How far even is Sydney from here?” Travis asked desperately, exhaling slowly. “Like, a day’s flight?”
There was the issue of getting out. Getting here had been easy—your dad’s money; your dad asking for a do-over; your dad’s want. How was it possible to leave now, with ten dollars to your name, Finney in pain, and Rachel alone with him? How would you make it back to the States without his money? Which, he would without a doubt, notice missing.
“You’ve gotta help me,” you whispered helplessly into Rachel’s stolen phone, watching the sea from your bedroom window. It calmly lapped the shore.
Nothing but Travis, poor Travis, and his helpless breathing on the other end of the line.
“I’ll see you soon, Travis,” you uttered softly, taking the phone away from your ear, ending the call with a press of a button, before smashing it over, and over, against the corner of your drawer.
You’d find a way to pay Rachel back for breaking her phone.
As you threw things into a backpack—leggings, toothbrush, favourite plushie and iPod—you muttered aloud to whatever Gods you could think of.
Hermes, for safety, the patron of travellers.
Ares, for the strength your anger gave you, and bravery you needed, hands shaking.
And your mother, to save your life. To watch over you.
They were so into their arguing, nobody noticed you slip out of your bedroom and racing down the stairs, raincoat on, and sneakers messily laced. Every sense in your body screamed run! and your eyes drifted over a hole in the wall with no photograph to cover it just yet. Your bones physically ached to take Finney in your arms and hush him to sleep, to save his poor throat from the soreness that would come from all his terror.
Maybe Rachel would see sense.
Unbelievable to yourself, Ares was the god you prayed to, not stopping at the bottom of the stairs, heading straight for the front door.

Annabeth’s house was the exact image of happy, and well-lived in. A little kid’s winter coat lay on the floor, and the whole house smelled of cookies. The coffee table in the living room was stacked high with books of all kinds, from wars to fairy tales, the wood stained with what must have been years of being used.
Her dad, for all the bad that Annabeth had said about him, seemed lovely. He seemingly wasn’t fussed about the children’s clothes on the sofa, or the gaggle of random teens in his house…the kind of parent you wished for.
You sighed, eyeing the home. Annabeth didn’t know how good she had it.
Photographs lined up along the walls, and stood in pretty framed on the windowsill. You were sure, almost certain, that if you moved aside the frames on the walls, there would be no holes underneath them, plaster torn through from anger, covered up in odd places with different-sized frames.
Your fingers itched just to see.
There were Lego robots on the stairs, when you turned around to admire the house, and a cat stretched out in a patch of dying sunlight at the bottom of the staircase. Jazz music floated throughout from the kitchen.
You were so jealous, you could have strangled Annabeth for giving this up.
“Dad!” A little boy screamed. You jumped easily. “He’s taking apart my robots!”
“Bobby,” Mr. Chase called absently, “stop doing that.”
“I’m Bobby!” The boy protested. “He’s Matthew!”
“Matthew, don’t take apart your brother’s robots!”
“Okay!”
Annabeth’s dad turned to you, looking you over properly. He hadn’t so much as really looked at anyone since inviting you in. “Let’s go upstairs and talk in my study…”
You knew what it was the second that he paused.
“Are you…?” He blinked, wide-eyed. “Do you know my Annabeth?”
The eyes. Always the eyes.
“My
Annabeth”
And, Gods, would anyone talk about you like that? Earnestly, and wholeheartedly? Not as a possession to be moved around at will, as you’d experienced, but somebody who was wanted, and very clearly, loved. To belong to somebody with care.
Annabeth was due a lecture. You decided that firmly.
You shifted on your hip, hands in pockets. “She’s my sister.”
He ah’d silently, and then waved his hand briefly to you. “I figured. The—”
“Eyes?” You finished at the same time, and heat spread across your cheeks. “Yeah, I get that a lot.”
“Frederick?”
Your gaze fell behind Annabeth’s dad, to a pretty Asian woman standing in the doorway of the kitchen. She was taller than you, shorter than Mr. Chase, and her hair—god, you would have died for hair like that—was glossy-looking and tinted red, and she held a pair of kids’ shoes in her hand.
“Who are our guests?” She asked.
“Oh, uh…this is…”
He stared at your group blankly.
“Frederick!” She chided. “You forgot to ask them their names?”
You introduced yourselves a little uneasily, but Mrs. Chase seemed nice. Especially when she offered cookies.
“Dear, they came about Annabeth.”
You weren’t sure what you expected from her reaction-wise, but a simple concerned look wasn’t enough for you. “Alright. Go on up to the study and I’ll bring you some food up.” She smiled. “Nice meeting you, Percy. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
It was as if the blood in your body halted, and a strange feeling overcame you. Without really meaning to, you were sure you pulled a face. Thalia, beside you, snickered quietly.
The ‘study’ wasn’t what you’d expected at all, certainly not for a grown man with children. Then again, perhaps he’d built this just for them. The thought made you feel warm inside, and oddly, spiteful; planes you recognised from history movies dangled on clear string from the ceiling, circling over a home-made demonstration of a fort, all cliffs and grass and the sense of death.
A war, Frederick Chase had built in his home.
You didn’t care much for whatever they talked about behind you; Zoe muttering something about enemy lines, Percy’s butting in, and Mr. Chase’s answering patiently. Instead, your interest piqued at a globe sitting on a tabletop to the side of the room, surrounded by well-loved books, slightly dusty and sitting askew atop of one another. You reached your hand out, and gently pushed the globe around, spinning it idly. Your eyes wandered.
A ratty, once-adored stuffed animal, now vaguely resembling an elephant, sat alone in a corner made by books, staring up at you. Was this Annabeth’s? Had she at one point abandoned this little guy in search of peace the way you had recently done to Finney?
It hurt so bad to think about, that it didn’t bear thinking about at all.
Either way, your heart clenched for your family.
The afternoon light was quickly changing, darkening, and you found the strength to speak up and bring to attention the problems that needed solving—ones that you were not at all prepared to take on any time soon alone. Your mind, for all people praised children of Athena, was not well-equipped for these situations. You weren’t smart enough, you felt.
And it was proving itself to be the case, too.
Just luck something in you persuaded. It’s all just bad luck.
You allowed Percy and Thalia to explain everything to Annabeth’s father, who, after paying great attention to even the side-tracking Percy inevitably talked, collapsed into an old armchair beside the desk you perched on the edge of. He laced his hands, looking worn and stressed.
“My poor brave Annabeth,” he said, quietly.
The cookie in your hand crunched and crumbled all over the desk, and pure bitterness scraped your insides.
“Sir,” Zoe brought you out of your thoughts. “We need transportation to Mount Tamalpais. And we need it immediately.”
He nodded. Mr. Chase blinked at his coffee table, absent in thought. “I’ll take you. Hmm…it would be faster to fly in my Camel. But it only seats two…”
Your mind snapped to attention. “Wait, you have an actual Sopwith Camel just chilling around?”
Mr. Chase nodded as though it was normal as anything. “Down at Chrissy Field. That’s the reason I moved here. My sponsor is a private collector with some of the world’s finest World War I relics in the world. He let me restore the Sopwith Camel—”
“Sir,” Thalia cut in, “a car would be just great. And it might be better if we went without you. It’s too dangerous.”
Mr. Chase visibly deflated in his armchair, frowning uncomfortably. “Now wait a minute, young lady. Annabeth is my daughter. Dangerous or not, I can’t just—”
“Snacks!” Mrs. Chase announced, bustling into the room with a tray of goods.
“I can drive, sir,” said Zoe. “I’m not as young as I look. I promise not to destroy your car.”
Mrs. Chase knit her eyebrows. “What’s this about?”
“Annabeth is in danger,” said Mr. Chase. “On Mount Tam. I would take them…but apparently it’s no place for mortals.”
To your surprise, Mrs. Chase nodded, not questioning it. Maybe she was used to this stuff by now. “They’d better get going then.”
“Right!” He jumped up, and started patting his pockets. “I…need to just get my keys…”
His wife sighed. “Honestly, Frederick, you’d lose your head if it wasn’t constantly in your hat.” Relatable. “They’re downstairs, on the peg by the door.”
“Right!”
Zoe grabbed a sandwich, and you stuffed a couple of cookies in your backpack, uncaring for the crumbs. “Thank you both. We should go. Now.”
Everyone headed for the stairs, Mr. Chase first—he walked quickly with urgency in his steps, and you wandered, would anyone ever act this way for you? Travis, maybe, at some point, if the time ever called for it. He’d shown that he cared. Or at least, you thought he did. Percy, too, who pulled you back-to-back with him earlier, protecting one another.
“Percy!” Mrs. Chase called. You waited at Mr. Chase’s side, at the front door, hands in your pockets. “Tell Annabeth…tell her, she still has a home here, will you? Remind her of that.”
For a second, you closed your eyes, and let yourself be lost in imagination. The sound of happy children playing, standing beside a father who cared, who was light with warmth and love. The feeling of pure safety in the home.
For a second, you let yourself feel this.
Tumblr media
After the car blew up, and you spent a good few minutes with Percy picking car pieces out of your hair and skin, you had thought perhaps nothing else could go wrong.
But this was a quest you were supposed to be a part of, so of course something else did go wrong.
“Silence, fool!” Zoe hissed, pulling Percy and big mouth down behind a rock. “Do you want to wake Ladon?”
“You mean we’re here?” You asked. This was it? The road was shrouded with thick fog, ahead of you, the mountain was even darker.
“Very close,” she said. “Follow me.”
Fog drifted across the road, and shivers crawled up your back. Zoe stepped out into it and disappeared completely.
“Focus on her,” said Thalia. “The Mist is really strong here. Just step into the fog and focus on Zoe.”
Apprehension became you, but you did as she said. Zoe was nowhere to be seen at first, but the more you concentrated on finding her, the dog cleared, and the road became dirt, and the dirt lead to the mountain. And then there was Zoe and Thalia, and Percy just behind you.
Your breath was stolen pretty quickly. The grass was thicker, the sunset a bloody slash across the sky, hues of peach and amber colliding. The summit of the mountain was closer, now, swirling with dark clouds and power above. There was only one path right in front of you, leaden with beautiful flowers and trees, pink blossoms and bright purples you couldn’t name. It lead to a darker forest of shadows and flowers that glowed.
You weren’t sure how you knew, but…
“The garden of twilight,” you muttered. Zoe’s head snapped to you.
The grass shimmered with silvery, dewy light, the flowers such brilliant colours they flowed and lit the darkness around you. Black, polished marble steps danced around a five-storey tall golden apple tree, literal golden apples, glimmering and glowing amongst the rich green leaves.
“Hera’s apples of immortality,” Thalia said lowly. “A wedding gift from Zeus.”
You were tempted to step right up and grab one, except you found the danger quickly.
The dragon, curled around the tree. The dragon, bigger than you could have ever imagined one, and with more heads than it was possible to count. He appeared to be sleeping.
Something in the darkness caught your attention. The shadows began to move, an eerie singing beginning. You clutched your dagger harder.
Four figures appeared, girls in white greek chitons. They were beautiful, and, with a shiver, you noticed they resembled Zoe Nightshade. Or, rather, she resembled them.
“Sisters,” Zoe said with a small sigh.
“We do not see any sister,” one of the girls said coldly. “We see three half-bloods and a Hunter. All of whom will soon die.”
“Don’t worry about being pessimistic,” you muttered. Percy elbowed you, firmly.
“You’ve got it wrong,” he stepped forward. “Nobody is going to die.”
But…you had that feeling again. The one before Bianca. And you couldn’t tell if it was anxiety or foreshadowing. Whichever it was, it made you feel sick, nonetheless, and helpless.
“Perseus Jackson,” one of them said.
“Yes, I do not see how he is a threat.”
“Who said I’m a threat?”
The first girl glanced behind her, toward the top of the mountain. “They are unhappy that this one has not yet killed thee,” she pointed to Thalia. “They fear thee.”
“Tempting, sometimes,” Thalia said. “But no, thanks. He’s my friend.”
“There are no friends here, Daughter of Zeus. Only enemies. Turn back.”
“Not without Annabeth,” she moved forward.
“And Artemis. We must approach the mountain.”
“You know he will kill thee. You are no match for him.” One of the girls scoffed.
“Artemis must be freed. Let us pass.”
“You have no rights here anymore.” Harsh. “We have only to raise our voices and Ladon will wake.”
“He will not harm me,” Zoe shook her head gently.
“No? And what about thy so-called friends?”
Then, Zoe did the last thing you wished she would. She clapped her hands, and yelled. “Ladon! Wake!”
The dragon’s eyes snapped open instantly. He glittered like a mountain of coins, just as everything in your body shivered.
Your heart took cover.
Zoe’s sisters scattered. One of the girls was furious. “Are you mad?!”
“You never had any courage, sister. That is thy problem.”
You’d never seen Zoe so forward, and confident. Confidence outside of your comfort zone was different. But you knew to be confident and strong against your family was a different kind.
Ladon was awake, now, a hundred heads hissing and swirling. You wanted to back up, and leave this place. Zoe, standing ahead of you all, looked up at him with nothing but surety. Thalia had shifted, and Percy was still as anything beside you, the two of you looking with your heads tipped back.
Your lungs chose the awfully wrong time to deflate. Because in the light of the glowing flowers, and the danger on the breeze, Percy’s eyes were bright green, his tan skin aglowing, and his dark hair looked glossier than ever. The perfect edge to his nose, shining ever so slightly. His mouth was slightly agape in—shock? Confusion? Horror?
The most heavenly boy to exist.
“Let’s go,” you decided, the first to make a move.
“Ladon is trained to protect the tree,” Zoe said, moving forward toward the dragon. She raised her arms out to him as if she were welcoming a best friend home, not a killing machine. “Skirt around the edges of the garden. I am a bigger threat. Go up toward the mountain. As long as I’m here, he should ignore thee.”
“Should?” Percy snapped. “Not exactly reassuring.”
Your body turned cold. “No. Come on. Let’s all just run for it. Nobody gets left behind.”
Thalia looked at you and nodded. “Zoe. Let’s go.”
“It is the only way. Even the four of us together cannot fight him.”
Ladon opened his mouths. The sound of a hundred heads hissing at once sent a shiver down your back, and that was before his breath hit your nose. The smell was like acid. It made your eyes burn, your skin crawl, and your hair stand on end. Combine all that with spearmint, and you were good to remember it for life.
Thalia and Percy had already left your side, skirting around the edge of the garden as Zoe had told them to. But something didn’t feel right about that, to you.
You crept up beside Zoe. Very firmly, you said, “I’ll stay with you. We ain’t leaving anybody.”
She looked horrified, and it was such an un-Zoe-like expression that it instantly freaked you out. “No—go, now.”
“No! You don’t leave friends behind!” You fought, gripping your dagger for dear life. An awful, awful feeling had taken over your body.
She pressed her mouth together unhappily, but some other look drew over her face, and she nodded once, determinedly.
She walked toward the dragon, voice calm. “It’s me, Ladon. I’m home.”
As long as I’m here, he should ignore thee, she had said. You waited for her to get closer to him before you shifted into gear, too. The aim being to draw attention away from Thalia and Percy. When they were past, you’d try to make your way up the mountain, and hope that Zoe going last would mean the dragon would let you mostly pass before you had to fight for your lives.
The eldest of Zoe’s sisters’ voice flowed in the air as they left. “Fool.”
“I used to feed thee by hand,” Zoe continued in a soothing voice. “Do you remember?”
There were many words you could think of to describe Zoe Nightshade in that moment and what had come before, but only one came to mind, full force—Brave.
She kept talking, and the heads switched their attention between you and her. Trying to keep it all solely off of Zoe, you watched it carefully, walking backward up the mountain, unable to watch your footing. Zoe caught on to what you were doing, and began to move, too.
For whatever reason, the air shifted.
The dragon lunged.
Two thousand years of training kept Zoe alive. She jumped over one set of heads snarling and snapping at her and tumbled under another set, springing to her feet. You ran together, at pace, at the same footsteps, toward the others. Your heart pumped furiously, pushing you onward, getting ready.
Percy had drawn his sword, but Zoe panted. “No! Run!” She screamed.
Something tensed inside of you. You looked to Zoe at your side, and your eyes widened, horrified. “Move!” Your hand reached out…
Too slow.
The dragon snapped at her side, and she yelped, crying out. Her footing slipped, but you didn’t hesitate to snatch her by the arm, holding her up. She didn’t stop, despite the obvious pain she must have been in.
You ran up the mountain, Thalia and Percy not too far behind. The dragon hissed and stomped, but as Zoe had said, he was trained to protect the tree. So he moved no further, no longer persuing you.
A song was in the air. Of sadness, of death.
At the top of mountain were ruins, blocks of black granite and marble as big as houses. Broken columns. Statues of bronze that looked as though they’d been half melted.
“The ruins of Mount Othrys,” Thalia whispered in awe.
“Yes,” Zoe said. “It was not here before. This is bad.” You watched for any aspect of pain, heart pounding.
“What’s Mount Othrys?” Percy asked.
“The mountain fortress of the Titans,” Zoe said. “In the first war, Olympus and Othrys were the two rival capitals of the world. Othrys was—” She winced and held her side.
“You’re hurt,” you said. “Let me see.”
“No! I’m not. It’s fine. I was saying, in the first war, Othrys was blasted to pieces.”
“But…how is it here?”
Thalia looked around cautiously as you picked your way through rubble and dirt, blocks of marble and broken archways.
“It moves in the same way that Olympus moves, right?”
Thalia blinked. “Right. It always exists on the edges of civilisation. But the fact that it is here, on this mountain, is not good.”
“Why?”
“This is Altas’s mountain,” said Zoe. “This is where he holds—” she froze. Her voice was ragged with despair. “Where he held up the world.”
You had reached the summit. A few yards ahead, grey clouds swirled in a heavy vortex, making a funnel cloud that almost touched the mountaintop, but instead rested on the shoulders of a twelve-year-old girl with auburn hair and a tattered silvery dress: Artemis, her legs bound to the rock with celestial bronze chains.
Zoe gasped and rushed forward. “My lady!”
Artemis shook her head as best she could, shaking. “No! It is a trap! You must go now!” Her voice was strained, and she looked to be in so much pain, that your soul cried out to help. She was covered in sweat, and visibly struggling.
Zoe was crying. Despite what Artemis said, she ran forward and dropped to her knees before her, tugging at the chains.
A booming voice spoke from behind you. “Ah, how touching.”
Everyone turned. Zoe sniffled, shifting on her knee to look as well. There the General stood in a brown suit. At his side was Luke Castellan, worn and weary-faced, alongside over a good hundred dracaenae bearing a golden sarcophagus. You didn’t need anyone to explain. You knew who that was for.
A head of dirty hair caught your eye. She was small next to Luke and the monsters, with a gag in her mouth and her hands bound. Luke held the tip of a knife against her throat. Her eyes were wide with pleading, and glassy. Annabeth. Your sister.
She met your gaze. And sent you only one message.
RUN!
“Luke,” Thalia snarled. “Let her go.”
Luke’s smile was weak, so weak, and pale. “That is the General’s decision, Thalia. But it’s good to see you again.”
Thalia spat at him.
Observant, as you always were, you paid attention to many things all at once; Percy’s awestruck eyes on your sister; Thalia’s pure disgust; Annabeth’s pain; Zoe Nightshade falling to rest from her knees; Artemis’s silver eyes drifting between every member present.
The General chuckled. “So much for old friends. And you, Zoe. How is my little traitor? I will enjoy killing you.”
“Do not respond,” Artemis groaned. “Do not challenge him, Zoe.”
It clicked instantly.
“Wait a second.” As it did for Percy, too. “You’re Atlas?”
The General’s eyes laid lazily on him. “So, even the stupidest of heroes can finally figure something out. Yes, I am Atlas, the General of the Titans and the terror of the Gods. Congratulations.” He drawled. “I will kill you presently, as soon as I have dealt with this wretched girl.”
“You’re not going to hurt Zoe,” said Percy. “I won’t let you.”
“You have no right to interfere, little hero. This is a family matter.”
“A family matter?”
“Yes,” Zoe said bleakly. “Atlas is my father.”

How Did That Happen
Pairing: Vance Hopper X Fem!Reader
Relationship: opposites attract
Description: Finney and Robin are confused when their best friend Y/N L/N ends up dating Vance Hopper.
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
Y/n made her way to the Grab n Go, she walked quickly. with all the kidnappings happening around town she got scared every time she was alone outside. Most of the time she tried her best to only walk with her friends Finney or Robin, but she was going to meet Vance, and her two best friends still didn't know she was hanging out with the town "bully".
When people around the small town saw the pair together they got confused. Y/n was a nice girl, the kind of girl who would make someone stop the car to help a turtle get to safety if it was in the middle of a road. Her father once hit a bird on accident while she was in the car, she cried for days about it. Then their is Vance, and well you know how he is. He was quiet confused as well when Y/n asked him to hang out.
He was more confused because the day before she had tripped over her feet and bumped the pinball game, messing up Vance's new high score. He had threatened to beat her up if she didn't leave. She left of course not wanting trouble, but he was confused the next day when she showed up and asked him to hang out.
Y/n wanted to tell Robin and Finney, but they were both very over protective of her. She thought they would flip their shit if they found out, and she didn't want them to be mad at her. She knew they would find out at some point, but she couldn't, not right now.
She walked into the Grab n Go, and quickly made her way over to the pinball game. When she didn't see Vance there she assumed she was early. She looked around, but when she turned around she saw the curly blonde haired boy making his was over to her. He had a milkshake in his hand, and when he got to her he smiled and handed it to her and smiled "for you babe," he said kissing her head softly.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention they are dating. That is why she can't tell the boys, they would immediately ask Vance questions. Kind of like a dad when they meet their daughters boyfriend for the first time. Vance was also the girls first boyfriend, so she didn't really know how to tell people. Yes, people know, their families, that's it. Neither of them really minded keeping it a secret though, they liked privacy, and if people found out, then they found out.
"Thank you Vance," Y/n smiled, and felt her cheeks warm up when she heard the nickname. Y/n was the only girl out of 3 boys and was living with a single father, so she was treated like a princess growing up, and was taught that's how a boy or man should treat her as well if he wanted to date her. Vance did that, he was mean to others, but when it came to her, he treated her like a goddess. People who would see them assumed the boy would worship at her feet if he could.
Y/n found it confusing how her friends haven't found out yet, things usually spread fast around their small town. Maybe they did know and just didn't say anything because they know nothing they say will change the way Y/n saw Vance. In her eyes he was perfect, at first she was scared to date him because of how often he would fight over dumb shit, but the first time he got into a fight in front of her, he saw how scared she got and never did it again. He learned ways to let out anger instead of fighting kids when he was pissed.
Vance smiled and pulled her into his chest tightly "anything for you dear," he said softly to her. She smiled, but quickly looked over to the door when the bell rang and she heard Robin and Finney's laughs that will forever be stuck in her brain. "Shit, what do we do?" she asked looking up at the boy, his piercing blue eyes already looking at her. He knew she didn't want them to know yet, and respected that, but at the same time didn't understand why she wouldn't want her two best friends to know.
It didn't take long for the pair to notice Y/n and Vance also how close they were standing to each other. "When did this happen? How did this happen?" Robin asked while Finney stood next to him nodding. Y/n looked at Vance again, and he nodded his head "well, I accidently ran into him a couple weeks ago while he was playing his game and at first he was really mad, but the next day I asked him if he wanted to hang out and he said yes. Then he ended up asking me out." The two boys listened to her nodding their heads.
Robin and Finney were very happy for their friend, but didn't understand why she didn't tell them. "I didn't tell you because I was scared you would either question him or get mad at me for dating Vance," she continued to explain. "Y/n we would never get mad at you for dating Vance, we just didn't expect it to be him. We kind of thought you were dating someone since you have been overly happy lately." Hearing the words come out of Robin's mouth made the girl smile,
"Thank you guys," Y/n said pulling them both into a hug. "This doesn't mean we aren't going to question him by the way, you are like our little sister," Finney said earning a groan from Y/n making all three of the boys laugh at her.
A/N: I'm taking requests to be scared to send one in. I write for Stranger things, The black phone, IT, and Criminal Minds.

Maybe We’re Not So Different
[part 2]
vance hopper x reader
all characters are aged up, high school, please see pinned for explanation/reasoning
this has a lot of character building, mainly y/n focused, meeting vance, mainly just the build up for the rest of the story to have a good foundation to build off of.
DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS
third person pov, kinda long build up and slow burning, kinda forbidden love, will be made in parts.
S L O W B U R N I N G
words: 2,464
warnings: strong language, y/n and she/her used(please change to what suits you best!), drug use (cigarettes), angst, ooc vance and vance being vance(obvi), blood, fighting, injury, not fully edited work, OC’s for drama purposes, rumours.
Tumblr media
y/n was known, not well, not deeply, simply just known. it was like everyone in that small town knew exactly who she was. Cool calm and collected, never was there ever an unpleasant emotion present on her face.
She never spoke, and when she did it was soft and quiet. People admired her for that, for the ways she walked so quietly but her presence was so loud.
y/n enjoyed being a mystery to the people living in the world around her. Of course she had her fair share of small conversations with her surrounding classmates. She often worked alongside Finney due to his shy and soft spoken manners. She’d never describe herself as shy, surly she wasn’t. She just never found anyone interesting enough.
Tumblr media
It was saturday, meaning the local kids would be out on the town. Most saturdays y/n chose to stay home rather then waste her energy in situations she could live without, but like most parents hers wanted her to get out now and again. y/n’s parents knew she’d never go unless given a reason, so they gave her one. handing her a list of things to pick up and a few extra bucks to buy herself the cassettes she’d been asking for, her parents sent her off.
Much to y/n dismay the streets where loud and crowded, she tended to avoid those kinds of places the best she could. Figuring she could make her outing shorter she entered the local shop, the bell rang over her head notifying the cashier of her presence.
She often wondered here in the dead of night, it looked different during the day, brighter, busier and much louder. Offering a smile to the cashier she’d grown to know by the name Mike, grabbing a basket beginning her walk through the aisles.
The pings and clashing of the pinball machine didn’t go unnoticed by the girl, she did however try her best to ignore it. Picking up the things on the list in her hand she’d finally reach the back where the ruckus had been coming from. the quiet girl stopped seeing who it was, the curly dirty blonde hair and jean vest never went unnoticed by her. It was him, Vance Hopper. The only person in this whole damn town who had ever caught her interest. Perhaps it was his aggressive behaviours or the why his voice was always so loud in her mind, it could have been his eyes, how the narrowed and shot daggers into those who disturbed him.
Vance was, and is know for being the hardest kid around, not something to be taken lightly. He earned his title and continued to maintain it like it was nothing, y/n had heard about his previous fights; not all the details just a few comments here and there. She knew everyone moved when it came to him. Listened when he spoke, and god if you ever tested him you’d be drinking your own blood.
y/n stood there watching in haze, taking her time trying to figure out even the smallest detail of the blonded boy. She hadn’t noticed his eyes on her, she was now the one disturbing him, and there they where, the narrowed eyes boring straight into hers. Lips parting in attempts to explain her stare but quickly shut, his words coming first. “What the fuck are you looking at?” she swallowed tilting her head “I was watching you play, you’re good” head nodding at her quickly though of excuse.
He snarled, eyes rolling. “obviously, now what the fuck do you want?” his words laced with annoyance as he turned back to the machine, his friends snickering from behind. y/n shrugged her shoulders “Nothin’” a smirk played her lips and the angered boy lost in pong, it was her turn to roll her eyes walking behind them a smooth whisper as she passed. “I can do better then that”
Her hair swung effortlessly side to side. She caught his attention again, Vance watched as the girl checked out noticing her slipping a pack of camels into her coat pocket when the cashier wasn’t looking. Sucking him teeth he turned back to the game watching his friends trying to get a higher score.
Tumblr media
Huffing with the bag slung over her shoulder, y/n looked at the cassettes she had picked up on the way home. She heard some girls in her bio class talking about an album so she bought it. It looked good, not really something she was into but, with all her so called risks today, she figured one more couldn’t hurt.
The day went on, it was boring. The new tape she bought was looping over and over, soon the sun had set and the clock read 11pm. y/n grabbed her walkman and laced on her converse. Sneaking out her window had almost been a nightly thing she’d adopted to her routine over the months. Typically she’d go to the park, sit on the swings for a while but tonight she had other plans.
y/n made her way through familiar streets and paths, pushing through the door of the local shop, the bell rang over her head for the second time that day. Speaking a quick hello she turned on her heels heading for the pinball machine, she had made a goal to beat the violent boys score that night. Pressing play on her walkman she began her quest.
It had taken her two hours and a few tears but there it was, she had beat his score, not just by a little but by a lot. Shuffling her feet across the floor her eyes sat heavy, waving bye to the cashier who had watched her the whole time sure vance wouldn’t be happy tomorrow when he saw.
Tumblr media
Early noon sun peaked in through the curtains lifting from the breeze, must not have fully shut the window. y/n sat up in her bed annoyed over being woken up.
She’d gotten ready that day, a smile plastered on her face. Voluntarily walking through the busy sunday streets, walking straight the the shitty local market. A quick peak inside the blonde curls caught her eye immediately.
Quickly making her way inside she snuck around the shelves making her way over to the pinball machine. He was focused so deeply into the game trying to win his title back before anyone saw. He was angry; then again when was he not? red hot range had filled Vance that morning, questions filled his head. ‘who the fuck beat me?’ ‘what stupid motherfucker did that?’ he wanted to kill whoever had done that.
y/n watched for a moment longer. Feet carrying her towards the machine, stopping half in his sights. “What the fuck do you want? Can’t ya see i’m busy here?” he glanced her way, brows knitted together. y/n smirked slightly leaning back into his view. “Told you i could do better”
Vance froze, loosing his round looking towards the long haired girl. God he wanted to slap that stupid smirk right off her face. He had to admit you had major balls for taking over his game, but you must have been psycho if you willingly walked up to him to tell him.
He was both impressed and furious at her actions, part of him wondered how she managed to be so good at pinball and the other how she wasn’t shitting her pants right now. Maybe she just didn’t know him, you where new. No that’s impossible he’d seen her around school.
“Listen doll, i don’t know who you think you are or what the fuck you think you’re doing but you should cut it out before i beat that stupid look off your fucking face” he leaned closer to y/n as he spoke, Something he’d done to others, rattle them up a bit. y/n stood her ground, smirk never dropping from her blushed lips.
Copying his actions y/n leaned in closer. “You’re not as scary as you think you are” stepping back, Vance stood there slightly shocked over the y/h/c girls words. “Catch ya later, Vance” pulling a smoke from the pack shed stolen the other day placing it between her lips as she left the shop.
Vance was both impressed and irritated at y/n’s boldness. How could the girl who never spoke, speak so confidently to him. He hadn’t noticed the amount of eyes on him till he looked around. “what the fuck are you looking at motherfucker” his words hissed with venom pushing over a rack as he left the shop after her.
Tumblr media
As days went on the pair shared looks each time they noticed eachothers presence, y/n wore her smirk and vance face held hard in annoyance. The week had come to an end once again, only something new had happened. Some of the girls had said some choice words about y/n. False facts circled around the school making their way to y/n during her bio class when Finney had brought them up asking if it was true.
Shocked to find the school was under the impression y/n had slept with Bruce Yamada. “That’s not true Finn, who told you that?” y/n’s brows furrowed together. “Emily Green- well Robin told me, he heard her talking about it” Finney dropped his head, ashamed he believed the rumours. y/n’s head spun, anger pumped through her veins. She hated rumours but hated them even more when they where made about her.
Finneys voice sparked again, “Bruse won’t confirm or deny them either” y/n sighed sitting back in her seat, hearing whispers from the surrounding tables directed towards her. “I’m going to rip her stupid face off” her voice stern but quiet only for Finn to hear. He looked surprised, it hadn’t been in your known character to be so fierce.
y/n stayed quiet the rest of the day, thinking of why of all people Emily Green had chosen her to be victim of her cruel behaviour. It was a light rumour compared to some of the other things she’d sparked in the past, nonetheless y/n had no patients for people like her.
Tumblr media
The day came to an end, y/n no calmer then when she’d found out about the rumour. A hard look rested on her face as she walked down the halls, something people hadn’t seen before.
Before y/n could process what she was doing her fist was full of Emily’s brown hair yanking her back and pushing her forward, Emily yelped quickly turning to face y/n “What the fucks your deal?” Emily’s voice rang through the halls pulling attention in ever direction.
Adrenaline rushed through the quiet girls body, her hands shaking. “My deal?” a forced laugh left her lips “You’re the one with my name in your slutty mouth” Emily stepped forward “Awe look, the freak can speak” Emily’s laugh turned to a gasp of air, y/n’s fist struck her ribs.
In a blink of an eye y/n had hit the ground, Emily took the upper hand. Feeling warmth slide down the side of her mouth y/n was quick to dodge the second strike.
Flipping their bodies y/n gripped the brunettes hair holding her head to the ground, mind a blur y/n’s fists moved faster then her thoughts did, slamming into queen b Emily’s face over and over again. y/n didn’t notice the blows emily was placing on her body.
Staff had ran down the hallway towards the shouting teens surrounding them. Teachers worked pulling the two girls apart, focusing on Emily once they’d been separated, it seemed like she had gotten it worse between them. y/n stood there for a moment dazed trying to catch her breath, looking around she hadn’t noticed how many people stopped to watch. Quickly grabbing her things she left the scene.
Tumblr media
y/n sat at the bottom of the slide watching the stars inhaling toxins from the dart resting between her fingers wincing in pain when her lungs filled to much. Tired and bruised, her knuckles still stung.
Vance had watched her fight earlier that day, he wasn’t shocked at the ways she took and gave a punch. He did however think she could use a lesson or two on how to do it properly.
He walked the dimly lit streets that night following a different route then he usually would, cutting through the park that split two streets, uncared for street lamps flickered on and off. Noticing the figure sat on the bottom of the slide he continued his walk with confidence.
y/n’s voice echoed through the stilled air. “Well if it isn’t pinball Vance Hopper” his head turned to where the sound had come from. She sat there with a bloody split lip, smoke leaking from them as they parted. He didn’t know what had possessed him, his feet carried him towards y/n before he could process.
Brushing the strands of her hair behind her ear y/n sat up more, lifting her chin to look at Vance as he approached her. She was expecting him to belittle her, tell her off in someway, a simple ‘fuck off’ but none of that came. Instead he sat down on the slide next to hers.
Vance looked over y/n’s knuckles, she hadn’t bandaged them. Some of the cuts still oozing slowly. “You want one?” she gestured at her cigarette, “Why not, you didn’t pay for them” his voice was low, calmer then she’d ever heard it. Reaching in her jacket pocket with a small laugh at his comment, handing him the pack.
They sat in silence, minutes passed. Vance let out a breathy chuckle, “You should work on your punches” y/n’s gaze moved from the trees to the dirty blonde boy. “I think i did a great job considering i’ve never thrown one before” his eyes examined her lip “Yeah, i could tell” tossing his butt on the ground stepping on the cherry he sat forward resting on his knees. “She did some damage”
y/n chuckled “If you think that’s the damage, you’re wrong” standing up from her spot, Vance watched her confused as her jacket hit the ground. Raising her shirt, she showed him the bruises littering her torso.
His nose scrunched, looking at the colours painting her skin. “Cant even breathe properly” shaking her head putting her jacket back on returning to her spot on the slide. “You should see her face” Vance turned facing the long haired girl more “Did good for your first time, doll”

The grabbed | vance hopper x f!reader
Chapter four
To be honest I don’t like this one as much as I wish I did, I feel like it’s a bit cheesy but I needed to implement the vance x reader somehow. (Disclaimer this isn’t all cheesy it’s just a portion at the end that I feel like is trying to hard the rest is basically normal tbp creepy middle aged man basement)
Warnings - PEDOPHILIA! A lot of it god I didn’t realize all of the weird shit I made albert say until editing it. Like he’s weird but it’s not much off from his character.

Max sat at kitchen table, a bowl of cereal sat in front of him. his brother Albert sat across from him news paper in hand. "Where the hell is y/n?" Max said in between bites. "Shit I forget to tell you..she didn't come home last night I think she stayed the night at the yamadas." Max's brain instantly went into panic mode. Y/n wouldn't just not tell anyone she was staying over with Bruce. Y/n wasn't like that, max was panicking. She might've just forgotten, but then again the grabber. So he sprang up from his chair sprinting towards the telephone. What he missed was the psychotic grin on his brother face, that might've given a clue to where his daughter was. He quickly tried to remember the yamada's phone number. 303-756 that's all he could remember, he'd only called the yamadas a handful of times normally albert would do it.
"303-756-2246" albert chuckled. Max sighed pressing in the numbers before listening to the phone ring. Albert smiled at his brothers short lived relief he knew in just a few minutes his brother would become a mess. And albert was going to get a kick out of it.
"Hello?" Mrs yamada said. Max sighed again "is y/n there? She didn't come home last night."
"No"
Max's eyes widened, she was gone. She was really gone. "Oh..I'm sorry for bothering you" he said before quickly hanging up the phone. Max collapsed to his knees. She was gone. He was a shitty dad, he knew that. But he was really trying to work on it. He wanted to be more present in her life. He was really trying.
Hot tears fell down his cheeks before he stood back up. Albert had a sadistic grin on his face. He loved when the entire town went frantic looking for his victims, and getting to see his latest victims dad breaking down in front of him was just amazing.
911.
The phone rang for a good two minutes before the operator picked up.
"911 what's your emergency?"
"My daughter she..she didn't come home last night" he said as tears streamed down his cheeks.
"Okay what's her name?"
-
At the yamada mrs yamada was walking up the stairs. Her heart had broken into two, she had to tell her oldest child that his best friend had just gone missing. The yamadas were close with y/n, very close. She spent several nights over at their house, they practically saw her as an extra daughter.
She knocked on Bruce's door a few times before hearing him say "come in!" From the other side. Bruce was standing next his bed stuffing books into his bag.
"Y/n didn't come home last night"
Bruce slowly turned around, she told him she was fine. God she was so stubborn. "W-what?" He stuttered out tears forming in his waterline. "Y/n she didn't come home last night." Mrs yamada repeated. He didn't want to believe he had gotten her. "No.." he whispered as he looked up at his mom. "M-mom" Mrs yamada instantly took her eldest son into her arms as he sobbed. "She said she'd be okay."

Y/n's pov
12 hours earlier
My eyes slowly opened as I felt my body drop onto a mattress. The familiar smell dust, and blood. "If you're gonna act like a naughty boy you're gonna be treated like one." Then I heard a large metal door close, and I knew exactly where I was. I was in the fucking basement. I slowly sat up examining the welts and bruises on my arm. Vance was curled up beside me, my emotions started to set in, realizing I was stuck down here. I was going to die. I stood up my bottom lip wobbling as tears formed in my eyes. I walked over to the door. I pulled on it hoping praying that it would somehow open. "No,no, no,no" I sobbed as I sank down onto the ground. Broken sobs shook through my body.
I was going to die, that was the only thing going through my mind. I was going to die, I was never going to see my dad, or mom, or Bruce ever again. I was going to die. I buried my face in my hands, letting my tears fall down onto my palms and trickle down my arm. "Hey? Y/n?" I lifted my head up from my palms to see vance now sat up staring at me. "Holy shit what happened to you?" He whispered, I shook my head tears still flowing down my cheeks. "I don't want to die" I whispered as I stood up walking back over to the mattress. I sat down next to him as he shook his head. "We aren't gonna die, he is" I shook my head "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die" I repeated as i was hyperventilating. My breathing was staggered, my hands were shaking, salty tears rolled down my cheeks eventually pooling into my mouth. "Hey calm the hell down!" He shouted. "C-can't" i muttered, he took my face in his hands, "calm the fuck down!" He said. His thumbs carressing my cheeks wiping at my tears. "If you don't calm the hell down we're never gonna get out of here." I nodded slowly. "Just breath" I inhaled my breathing still shaky, and exhaled. My nerves calming down.
-
"We're gonna have to use things we can find down here" Vance said. I didn't know what time it was I just knew it had been a few hours since I got down here. I could see that it was still dark out so I assumed it was around two or three in the morning. I sat next to vance on the mattress, my hands stuffed in my pockets and my head leaned on his shoulder. It was cold, so cold down here at night. My hands were ice cold. "I found a bit of wire that was pulled out, I think...I think it's from one of the others. We can use that" I hadn't talked much, I just nodded my head along to whatever Vance said. My entire body still stung from the belt. If I talked I'd probably just start to cry. And I knew Vance didn't want to deal with me crying again. For some reason I just wanted my dad right now. He had never been present in my life but I just needed comfort. I just wanted to hug someone I trusted. Why didn't I just go to my moms house. If I went I wouldn't be stuck down here. I was regretting every life choice I had ever made. If I went to my moms I'd probably be spending time with my grandpa watching cartoons, or baking. I wouldn't be down here with giant bruises covering my arms and legs.
"Hey? Are you listening?"
I snapped out of my thoughts and stared back up at vance. "Goddammit!" He groaned as he buried his face into his right hand rubbing at his eyes. "I'm sorry" I said quietly, my voice meek and small. I was kind of scared of vance. I feel like everyone was scared of vance, no one wanted to piss him off. And I just pissed him off. "It's fine..it's fine" he said lifting his head back up and rolled his eyes. Wow, he didn't even cuss me out? What the fuck? I knew he wouldn't able to beat me up but he didn't even call me a dumbass.
Both our heads quickly turned towards the door as we heard the metal squeak and the large door hitting against the wall.
"Awe look how cute you two are" Albert said the same mask with the devil horns covering his face as he walked towards us. He sat crissed crossed in front of us. "Don't touch her" Vance said in a very protective tone. Alberts loud chuckle was muffled by his mask. "You think I care what you say..."
"She's my niece..."
"You don't think I've already touched her?"
I didn't even remember him touching me, in a sexual or abusive manner. He laughed loudly like he was just shoving it in my face. Vance's eyes were widened his fist clenched. Vance used all his strength kicking albert right in the chest. Albert fell back laughing he was a fucking psycho. FUCKING PSYCHO. "You like her that much, that you're getting tough again?" Vance's face was scrunched up in anger. "I'm not gonna hurt her anymore calm down" Albert whispered.
-
Bruce's pov
She was gone, she was really gone. Y/n was gone. I'd probably never see her again. I sat in math class staring at the empty seat next to me. "Bruce?" I turned around in my seat to see stacy standing there a small smile on her face. she walked around the desk behind me and sat in y/n's seat. She was sitting in y/n's seat. "You wanna come over to my house later?" She asked twisting a piece of her hair on her pointer finger. "No thanks I just wanna go home later" I mumbled, "oh.." Stacy frowned "maybe I could come over later?"
I shook my head "can't sorry." I missed y/n so much, and it had only been a day! How was i going to get through the rest of my life if they didn't find her. I hadn't spent a day without here since the third grade when she ended up going to school in Durango instead of here. I had to find y/n, even if it was the last think I did. I needed to find her. I leaned my head onto my palm closing my eyes. I was worried about y/n all last night, I just had this gut feeling that something had happened to her. But she was strong, I had seen her beat the shit out of moose until he couldn't see straight. How come she couldn't fight off the grabber. My eyes slowly closed causing me to drift off into slumber.
Suddenly there I was standing at the edge of elm and wrangler. Watching as y/n walked slowly down the street. She noticed a black van up at the end of the road. "God dammit" I heard her groan. I followed after her slowly. The van really seemed to scare her. Then once she passed the van the person inside began to shout at her. Telling her to get into the van, I'd recognize that voice anywhere. It was her uncle! It was Albert. She wouldn't look up at him she just shook her head before she began to sprint. She ran and ran. Alberts van following after her getting faster and faster.
Until it past her taking a sharp turn and stopping in front of her. She had no time to stop. She slammed right into it and fell right back onto the ground. Her head slamming against the ground with a loud BANG! She wimpered as she held her head in her hand trying to stop the blood that was pouring out of her head. I tried to scream, scream at her to get up and run. But I couldn't she couldn't hear me. Albert go out of his car a large belt in hand as he approached her.
He kneeled down next to her and smirked. "I thought you were smarter than that...oh well" before raising the belt over his head. Y/n cried and wimpered asking him not to hurt her and that she wouldn't tell anyone. He didn't listen he just brought the belt back down onto her thigh.
"Bruce?" I gasped as I sat up to see Mrs Thompson kneeled down next to me. "You're needed in the principals office" I nodded as I stood up groggily and made my way to the door. Is that why she had been scared of Albert yesterday. What was I kidding it was just a dream. Just a dream.
I stuffed my hands into my pockets as I walked slowly down the hallway. Kids that were late sped past me sending me soft smiles and waves as they did so. News spread fast, especially when kids had gone missing. It was a small world..small town everybody knew in a matter of a couple hours. New curfews were being put into place already, the last one getting revoked after about a month after Vance hopper went missing. People were already beginning to drive their kids to and from school instead of letting them walk. This had always happened since griffin stagg gotten abducted. He was only seven at the time so the curfews and walking home business was only geared towards the elementary school students. Then everything went silent for a couple years. No one had found griffin but no other kids had gone missing so everything went back to normal. Well until billy showalter went missing he was my age 12 or 13 at the time. No one knew if it was the same guy who took griffin people just assumed. Then just a few months later vance hopper went missing. That's when the police knew it was serial. A man in a black van abducting boys from the ages of 7 to 15. If he took boys then why the hell did he take y/n. Why the hell did he have to take her away from me.
Why? Why? Why?
I now stood in front of the principals office. I took a deep breath in before pushing open the door. Mrs Keller stood in front of two men who looked about in they're mid forty's. "Bruce yamada this is detective wright and detective walker" she said pointing to each man. I nodded "Mr yamada" they pointed toward a chair in front of two others. "They would like to talk to you about something" she said before returning to her seat.
"Is it true you're friends with y/n Shaw?" Detective wright asked. I nodded "yeah" detective walker had a pen and notepad in his hands. "Okay so when was the last time you saw y/n?" Each of my hands sat in each arm rest, my finger tapping against the leather. "Last night..she walked me home at about 7:30..I think" they both nodded detective walker jotting down something on his notepad. "Okay..was she acting any out of the ordinary?" I nodded "yeah.." I sighed before placing both of my hands in my lap fidgeting with my fingers. "Okay..how was she acting?"
"Just weird I guess. She told me about something she found in her house...And I asked about it" both men nodded "she told me she couldn't tell me..and of course I pried at bit until she told me.." detective walker continued to write, and detective wright nodded "what did she tell you?"
"She told me...th-that if she told me what she found. He'd hurt her..or me I don't know" I mumbled "who's he?" I shrugged my shoulders "I don't really know..but I think she was talking about her uncle. They were acting really weird around each other last night."

Y/n's pov
My entire body ached, just shifting my body around was uncomfortable. My head felt like it was being squeezed to oblivion, and my ears rang. Every bruise and welt on my body had began to turn a deep purple or red color. Just touching the splotches felt like I was dying. I wanted to die, I just wanted him to finish me off. Kill me already.
I was curled up on the mattress, my hand stuffed between my thighs as I tried to warm them up. The sudden feeling of nausea washed over me. "I feel like I'm gonna puke" i muttered. I could practically feel Vance's eyes roll "don't get it on me" he said back. I groaned rolling myself onto my back. "I swear to god if you puke on me-"
"I'm not gonna puke I just feel like it" i grumbled "same thing" he muttered back. I rolled my eyes and scooted my body up a bit so my head sat in his lap. His eyebrows knitted together as he stared down at me. "What the hell are you doing?" He muttered, "it's cold...you're warm."

3rd person pov
Vance now stared down at the sleeping girl laying in his lap. He never felt like this way towards anyone. It had felt like his heart stopped. Why the hell did he feel like this? She was just cold, and sad. She didn't even like him like that. He hesitantly moved his hand towards her head before slowly running his hands through her hair. She smiled softly in her sleep before burying her head further into his thigh. God the just made the butterflies in his stomach go rampant.
"She's pretty isn't she"
Vance's head snapped up to see the grabber. The grabber was disgusting, he was a murderous, pedophilic man who had a crush on his underage niece. He stood at the door with his mouth less mask on. Was Vance that distracted that he didn't hear the door open? "What are you doing here?" Vance muttered lowly. "Just wanted to look at you guys" the grabber said as he began to approach the two. Vance tensed up, it wasn't often that Vance was scared of anyone. Normally people were scared of him, even grown men and women. But Vance was terrified of the grabber. Ever since the first time the grabber beat him. At first vance wasn't scared, he was confident in his ability to be able to beat the shit out of the grabber and escape. But that wasn't the case, some how the grabber was 10x strong than vance, easily knocking him out and hurting him.
In several different ways.
"I'm not gonna hurt her anymore. I already said that" the grabber said in false sweetness. The grabber always talked like that he used a sweet high pitched voice while talking to any of his victims trying to reel them in. Make them believe they were safe, that they weren't going to die. But it was always somehow just a bit to sinister. The grabber never actual was going to keep any of his victims alive, he just said that he was. He even planned on killing y/n. He always planned on killing them no matter what.
“Hey Albert!”
The grabber quickly snapped his head around towards the door. He said “I’ll be back” before standing up and sprinting towards the door. Finally he left, but vance was still angry. His fists were clenched and his face was scrunched up obviously unhappy.
That’s when Vance knew they had to kill him. He had to get out of here. If he wasn’t able to kill him then what was he worth anyways. So Vance decided that if he wasnt able to kill the grabber he wanted to be dead. If he wasn’t able to do it at least the grabber would kill him for trying.

bruce yamada with a reader who fights a lot
...
[style : headcanons]
[requested : yes]
[pairing : bruce yamada x fem!reader]
...
yay best friend!robin is a concept i love <3
you and robin have been friends since the beginning of middle school
he was about to get into a fight and you stepped in to defend him since you had overheard the fight
he was definitely your wingman with bruce since he knew you liked him
and then you and bruce got together and robin's happy for you two cause it's the cutest couple
bruce is constantly running after you to make sure you don't get in any fights
you still do
he leaves for two seconds to get you a soda and comes back to the hunger games
'okay so they didn't have your favorite but i got- WHAT THE-'
he pulls you away from people when he can sense that you're about to throw hands
bruce does this thing where he puts an arm around your shoulder and turns you away from whoever is pissing you off
he's so calming that is always works
and when you do get into fights he just sighs and starts grabbing the medical supplies he started carrying for you
get ready for a lecture while he's patching you up
'see? this is why you should wait for me after practice, you always get into fights with those guys- why are you looking at me like that'
'it's just a scratch'
bro turns into a certified doctor in three seconds
'it's just a scratch????'
then proceeds to put you in a full body cast-
also other people are very confused on how you two ended up together cause yk he's such a sunshine
and you're...
you're very aggressive interesting
so he can be talking w someone else and he's like 'oh you haven't met my gf!! i think she's somewhere around here'
'idk but there's some girl in a fight over there what a strange-'
'that's her'
'oh'
cue bruce cupping his hands around his mouth and shouting about how the game's gonna start soon
literal definition of standing over on the side screaming
'KICK HIS ASS BABE'
but he only does that when he knows they deserve it
any other time he'll be running to stop you
and he kisses your bruises i don't make the rules
he's so lovey dovey w you and it's so cuteee
so this was rlly late so i'm giving you some bonus content of headcanons for best friend!robin and what he does when you get with bruce:
AGH WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN
he's such a tease
esp in front of bruce
and besides finney you're his other tutor
having classes with him is so inconvenient but it's funny shit so it's worth it idk
'y/n do you have a pencil?'
'no, go away'
'i literally see one on your desk right now you liar'
'that's mine dumbass'
'was yours'
and robin always steals your pencils in class and since you two sit at the back the teacher can't see the fucking war going on over a pencil
getting detention together
omg those poor teachers-
cause if you guys have detention together it's a mess and you don't do the thing you're supposed to
but if you're separate then you both get rlly sad (neither of you would admit it) and don't do anything either
so most teachers just severely yell at you instead of giving you detention cause it's such a pain in the ass with you two'
lmk if you want more thoughts abt this <3

“lovefool”
finney blake x fem! reader !
Tumblr media
dear god. finney was nothing else but embarrassing when it came to girls, girls he liked to be specific. he was never the kid every girl liked in elementary, usually getting flat out ignored or just grouped in with the quiet undesirable kids of the class. he wasn’t like his best friend robin arellano or his fellow baseball player bruce yamada. the two having girls practically fawning over the two boys, whenever homecoming wrapped around it was like a war zone in girl world, as almost every teenage girl tried to get noticed by either of the two. or if they wanted to be more on the risky side, they’d tried to grab the attention of vance ‘pinball’ hopper which almost never worked. but long story short what mattered was that finney just wasn’t..exactly experienced in that field. the boys he had named had some type of girlfriend in their life. meanwhile the closest finney got to that was dancing with his friend donna at their third grade show for the parents. god that haunted him. it never exactly bothered him a whole lot, yeah okay here and there but it wasn’t his number one problem. he didn’t put his time and attention onto crushes. that was until you came around. you weren’t new to denver no no you just came from a different school hence why finney hadn’t seen you around in middle school. you weren’t an out of an ordinary girl, not in a bad way. not too popular but not too unknown. just kinda in the middle of everything. you were donna’s right hand woman being friends since birth, you two being family friends.
the first impression you had of finney was the first day of freshman year, 1979. walking through the halls of the semi-crowded building you had spotted a familiar face, that being finney. you had gone to his games here and there over the summer so it wasn’t like the two of you were strangers. from that point on from that day the two of you made it a priority to walk to first period together. you guys didn’t share it but were right next door to each other. sure you’d do the talking most of the time but you didn’t really mind at all. little did you know the whole reason why finney was so silent was because he was practically choking on his words trying to talk to you. only able to let out hums of agreement and nods. the occasional “yea!” that was so silent if you made the smallest noise you were sure to miss it. looking back on past interactions finney would get extremely embarrassed. one of those things where your about to fall asleep and think of something so mortifying. like this one time when the two of you were chatting at the bleachers when a stray baseball had hit him point blank in the back of the head.
you ended up having to drag him over to the nurse because he was so dizzy. and could you imagine how embarrassed he was? he was muttering apologies and sighing all the while you helped him. and do not get me started when he tried to impress you with his baseball skills at the fourth of july game, only to fall flat on his face on third base because he got too nervous feeling your eyes on him. and you were kind enough to wipe the dirt off his face when the game was over. in a way you found it cute how finney was more on the shy side. you didn’t exactly enjoy how some guys came on too strong and too over confident. usually they were just straight up jerks. so when the news hit finney that none other than his old bully matty had asked you out the day before behind the school.
oh he was absolutely livid. sure you didn’t exactly know what happened between him and finney, you just thought they had a small altercation. it was the end of the school day and you usually waited for finney to come out of his last period. resting your head against the cold wall of the hall. finney had soon came into your field of vision looking rather upset. his expression had spiked your interest, it was only once in a while he’d get upset over something. and finney had quite the patience. you met him half way with a concerned look on your face. “finney are you alright? “ you tried not to trample all over him with concern as he dismissed you with a shake of his head. “no i’m fine.” he mumbled sucking the inside of his cheek as the two of you started up on walking. you obviously knew he wasn’t alright so you pressed on, catching up to his speed. “finney you seriously aren’t selling it.” you mumbled back, the chatter of kids getting louder and louder as class got dismissed. finney could feel his heart sinking into the pits of his stomach. like the total idiot he was he already assumed you were gonna say yes to matty. he was pretty well known around school, he was well feared not as much as vance hopper but him and his goons could easily beat up whoever looked at them the wrong way. and finney..well..
he wasn’t very aggressive he wasn’t a fighter, more of a lover if anything. it was a bit embarrassing how his little sister gwen had to fight for him one time last year. he did a better job standing up for himself currently now. he had a few scattered friends here and there he was fine with a close knit small group. the pick was obvious in his mind. matty had beaten him once again to you and finney just had to unfortunately accept it. he just had to know what you were gonna say or what you did say to matty. lifting his head up to glance at you from underneath his lashes. “what did you say to matty?” “huh?” “matty asked you out didn’t he??” he confronted, his stomach twisting into a swirl of nasty jealous emotions. now you were a bit confused, why was finney getting all stirred up about this? with a deep sigh you slightly rolled your eyes getting aggravated at his assumptions. “and why do you even care??” the tone of voice you had slightly rose in volume, eyebrows knitting together in frustration. balling his hands into fists as he halted to a stop. the rubble from the unkept streets making a small noise underneath his sneakers.
“because y/n!!! i like you!! i’ve been liking you ever since donna has introduced us, i’ve been liking you ever since you cleaned the dirt up from my face even though i was looking like a total idiot!!” he didn’t even realize what he was saying, his mouth moving faster than his nerves at the moment. “i..i don’t want you to go with that asshole!! god y/n you are too good for him and probably too good for me-!! i..” he trailed off as his words started to jumble together like his thoughts and emotions. seeing the shocked expression that laid upon your face he had finally realized what he had said. a small frown made its way onto his lips as he shook his head, embarrassment filling into his heart. turning on his heel, he started to speed walk once more. not expecting you to follow beside him, ever. blinking a bit and quickly closing your agape mouth you didn’t hesitate to quickly catch up to finney who was a whole more farther from you. “finney!!” you sighed out, placing your hands on his shoulders as you quickly caught your breath. “i..is..is it true? what you said just now? is it true?” you breathed out with a more than happy smile, the smile that made finney’s heart skip a beat.
“why are you asking..?” he mumbled, confusion evident in his voice. “just-just tell me you meant it, is it true what you said? do you really mean it?” you repeated yourself once more, chest heaving up and down as excitement filled your lungs. as finney nodded that was all the confirmation you needed before gently bringing him close and landing a rushed kiss on his lips. both hands were carefully placed onto his cheeks, squishing his face ever so slightly. the two of you slightly clinked teeth together as smiles were etched onto both of your faces. you had caught finney by surprise but in a good way. his hands hovered over your shoulders, not sure where to place his hands. as you pulled away, grinning from ear to ear, matching finney’s expression you let out a small laugh. “i never accepted matty’s invitation how rude of you to assume!” you teased, letting out a joyful sigh as you adoringly looked at a bashful finney. “i..i..er..i..didn’t me…” he stumbled over his words as he lightly touched his now lipgloss covered lips.
your laughter filled up the afternoon air as you gently grabbed ahold of his hand, starting to walk once again, intertwining hands just for good measure. you could’ve sworn you felt finney squeeze your hand as butterflies overtook his stomach. god, he really was a total lovefool.
