they are not dating at this point in time, or even that close of friends

in the span of their HS years they shared a couple classes together, so they were aware of each other and were like. crushing on each other from afar teehehehehhe

mari was part of the student government and hero was part of the speech team, both were straight A students and popular/well-liked

they had like maybe 10 conversations total LOL. during this time hero was crushing Hard and mari was vaguely interested in him but due to their catholic upbringings, they couldn't really progress their friendship outside of classes (couldn't hang out alone outside of school, were technically a part of different social cliques, etc.)

he wanted to confess to her by graduation but chickened out, and thought he'd never see her again so he beat himself up about it the entire summer :')

but then they ended up in the same college!!! so that's when they became best of friends :)

My english lyrics for Triage woo! (They're written out under the cut, I just wanted to share my lil chart lol)

Though I'm too indecisive to officially label this as my favorite song, it's had the strongest emotional impact on me by far. It holds a special place in my heart, I definitely wanted to write lyrics for it first! I'll leave all my rambling process commentary in the tags, but I was so happy with how it came out!!

I mentioned earlier that I always get annoyed with myself when people post translyrics and I can't figure out the rhythm they were going for, so here's a recording of me singing, but I'm bad at it! I love drawing Xie Lian in modern day clothes. I took inspiration from all the cute Xie Lian doll pictures on Twitter. How I haven’t bought one yet is by sheer self control.

Also I’m working on a fanfic with Xie Lian in an outfit like this where he is a florist. The flowers he is holding are tulips, carnations, peonies, crocuses, roses, butterfly lily, and lilac. I have done extensive search on all of these flowers and they revolve or mean love in the flower world. The flower in his hair is a cape jasmine which is what I think is the white flower HC offered XL in the books.
