“One of many ways the Colossus Sirenfish expresses opinion is through the alignment of eye-level.
The leviathan may position themselves to be above eye-level (typically waist height) to express dominance, hostility or disdain. Proximity may also be an indicator of disrespect or ownership.
Meanwhile, a position of eye-level contact may signify equality, mutualism or respect. It does not necessarily signify friendship, but an openness to the others presence.
Positions where the leviathan is below eye-level is risky. While it can be a display of affection and curiosity, it can also be preparation for an attack or be taken as an insult if accidental.”
A while ago I wrote that colossus sirenfish see how eye-level you are as a sign of respect, so I’ve always imagined Joel trying to be eye-level so Sun just ZOOPS up, rubbing his tail against him all the way HDJCNDJ
