Beautiful Non-National Flags, Part 1

So many people see and love the flags of the 193 UN recognized nations, but I want to take a look at a few of my favorite regional/provincial/people group flags around the world.

One of my favorite flags, and I think one of the most beautiful flags, is the banner of East Turkestan

The Kökbayraq, or sky flag, represents both the geographic region of East Turkestan, and the Uyghur people, a Turkic people group located in what is now Xinjiang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China (PRC). The flag was flown by the short lived (one year) reign of the Republic of East Turkestan (1933-34), and has been used by the diaspora of the Uyghur people as they flee the authoritarian rule of the PRC. In the modern day, it serves as symbol of protest against the ongoing genocide being conducted by the Chinese Communist Property.

The beautiful simplicity of the flag and its striking blue color make the flag instantly eye-catching. It's similarity to the Turkish flag is no coincidence, it was designed to harken back to the Turkish flag. The beautiful sky blue represents all Turkic people. While the crescent and star can represent Islam, in this flag the crescent represents the idea of being victorious, and the star represents the nation itself.

The flag follows a 2:3 ratio and all of the design aspects follow the same guidelines as the flag of Türkiye. It was formalized and adopted in 1993 and the East Turkestan Government in Exile claims it at the official flag of the Republic of East Turkestan

As this is a flag I personally own, I'm more than happy to fly it when I can and speak about it. This flag is easily in my Top Ten list because of it's beauty, and I've used the the exact shade of blue in a couple of flag designs.

I highly recommend anyone interested research the culture and history of the Uyghur people, and learn about their plight as they're subjugated under the iron fist of the Chinese Communist Party.

lexegender template layers!

lately i've seen quite a few people saying they want to make lexegenders but can't find a template/individual layers, so i went ahead and made the separate layers of the common lexegender template flag by @/epikulupu !

these were made on a base that is 1920 x 1080 pixels, but they can be scaled/changed!

Here we go - updated/alternate version of the käärijägender flag. (Old version here).

Käärijägender is a nonbinary gender which may involve both masculinity, femininity and/or androgyny etc, in a way that feels connected to the artist Käärijä. It could be considered a type of kingender. It may be one part of a genderfluid identity (kinfluid).

Each colour represents several things:

🖤 black for leather jackets, spiky black pants and for being agender or experiencing an absence of gender.

💚 green for the green bolero, green nails, and for a nonbinary masculinity or butchness.

🩷 pink for the pink dancers, for the bald men, frank the flamingo, and for a nonbinary femininity or flamboyance.

🤍 white for white suits and outfits, white nails, and for being multigender or genderfluid.

💛 yellow for Häärijä, yellow suit Käärijä, and for a nonbinary gender which is not male nor female (demigender, androgyne, maverique or xenogender, for example).

Ongietusio/Ongietunem

[ongietusio/ongietunem]

ongietunem "identities" are terms surrounding ones delusions effecting their perception of things - such as their body, reality itself, their environment, aspects of oneself or relationships and so on - as well as the disconnect one feels from reality due to these delusions.

this uncludes the episodic, non-episodic, self-aware and unaware.

for a term to be under the ongietusio umbrella, it means one has a hard time differenciating their perception of that specific thing from what is real and what they expirience or believe it to be, that one's perception of such is effected by delusions, be it brought on by psychosis, a schizospec disorder or other.

etimology:

ohn-gee-too-zio / ohn-gee-too-nehm

the "sio/zio" end is pronounced as a soft z, ee, oh sound.

ongietan+delusio / ongrietan+delusionem

taking the first 6 letters from ongietan, the old english word for perception, taking the last 4 letters from delusio, the secondary latin root word for delusion, and taking u+nem from delusionem, the "noun of action from past-participle stem of deludere" - delusiodere being the first root word for delusion.

ongietan, perception, relates to ones view and disconect from what they should be viewing/expiriencing. delusio/deludere/delusionem, delision, specifies and emphasises the disconect from what is real and what is actually being expirienced.

how to coin.

one can coin an ongietusio by using the prefix ongietu-, example, ongietucorse.

the following template is optional.

[x] is an ongietunem term/ongietusio relating to one's perception of [x] being affected by [x] delusion. this term aknowledges the disconnect between reality and one's expirience, it does not romantisize nor idealize this expirience.

ongietusio does not support

transid/transx, "transitioning" from reality to a delusion or any other variation of the phrasing, comparing neirological conditions, mental health or disorders/disabilities to being transgender in anyway, radqueers, discourse, ableism and general bigotry.

ongietusio actually supports

arissomei aldernic -cubi terms chronosian (non/anti-radqueer) queer stances people who have gone through traumatic/stressful events people who expirience atypical dysphoria, hallucinations and intrusive thoughts recovering radqueers recovering paras clusters a, b and c cripplepunk neuropunk lgbtq+ mogai/liom neo/xenic identities (researched) self-diagnosis

who can use ongietunem terms?

everyone in the "ongietusio actually supports" category

people with diagnosed, undiagnosed, proffessionally and self diagnosed delusions

anyone who expiriences a disorder/condition that causes delusions

anyone who anknowledges this term has boundaries and are not transid adjacent nor arissomei or aldernic replacements/alternatives.

please note intrusive thoughts can be a side effect of delusions but dont cause nor are they actual delusions themselves. having intrusive thoughts alone does not qualify as this specifies one's entire perception of things being disconnected from what is reality.

also note this is not a term made just for fun, but to actually aid in recognizing the disconnect, aknowledge it and spread a bit more awareness about the kind of expiriences people wth delusions may have. it is a serious topic about mental health, not an aesthetic or choice.
