Because I'm hilarious, I decided to do all of these on one. Ben is red, Peter is blue, Kaine is pink. Behold the overlaps.

Let's start with Ben. There's not much interaction between him and Flash, really just the above scene from the middle of Clone Saga and then that bar scene in Redemption where Ben encourages Flash to stop wallowing. It's kinda sweet but I'm not like... that into them? There's nothing that makes me go feral. Mostly I think it would be funny if Flash asked Spider-Man where the Scarlet Spider was, so Flash could thank him for helping save the kids, and then for Peter to get jealous LOL

FlashKaine is very good very spicy very wonderful altogether. It's mostly because of @traincat and @zed-sabre that I'm so into this ship but I haven't finished Scarlet Spider so all I can really say is they have a surprising amount in common and. Idk. I like the their dangerous vibes. Also, weird little kid proteges. It's fun.

What can I say about PeterFlash that hasn't already been said? It's the rivals to friends to lovers. It's the hero worship. It's the Venom Era. It's "my hero, my friend". I think ultimately I do prefer them """as friends""" but who am I kidding, they do love each other.

very straightforwardly just wanted them to fuck tbh and also felt deprived cause i wanted a very specific kind of dynamic that i knew i would only get if i personally wrote it lol

though it went hand in hand with a variety of things i had been thinking about while detailing some stuff in my timeline and working on some of the most recent fic stuff, so really peter and his issues were on my mind as well as me just being like "hehe..." so they combined 😂

but i didn't circle "i just need them to suffer" cause that wasn't really the point of the fic at all and it just happened to have a little bit of seriousness

When I Come Home At Night:

I guess? There wasn't a lot of deep purpose behind this one other than I thought it would be fun to write a fake marriage fic and I had this idea about the HOA energy vampires or whatever but I already forgot like. Why.

Originally I think the story was something else (but that I don't remember cause it's not in my notes anymore) and I had Flash and Peter still fake married but it was at some resort/hotel or something and there was a fake kiss i think, but then I was having issues w/ like plot and also like, "I don't want this to be too much like traincat's fake married flashkaine fic," and then I was like, oh what if they were investigating a gated community, that sounds fun! so that's how i ended up with the HOA psychic vampires XD

The tags say it all! Forced proximity but make it about agency! This is such a brilliant take on Kaine and his views on intimacy and romance and ownership and ugh it's so good. Thank you to my author for putting all my Kaine thoughts into this one fic, like, when I say it's exactly what I wanted, it's exactly what I wanted. Totally beautiful look at Kaine and Flash and there's also dreamsharing. I don't think I said either of those things were some of my favorite tropes but my author just knew. Go read it!

4. How many people I ship him with... Umm. Well. I think a better question is, who don't I ship him with. But as far as like, people I pretty seriously ship him with vs. this is just a crack idea? There's like... a lot... and many of them are in specific circumstances but I still like rolling them around in my head (or on a bed 🥁) because it's fun. I would say at minimum a dozen are pretty "serious" ships. Definitely at least ten.

5. My favorite ship of them This is pretty circumstantial, depending on my mood and such, but as far as canon ships, probably BettyFlash. Though I do loooooove FlashFel a lot, I just haven't read as much. As far as non-canon ships, obviously Symbiot3 (Eddie Brock/Flash Thompson/Venom Symbiote) and Harry Osborn/Flash. PeterFlash and FlashKaine are also really good but tbh I don't know if I typically enjoy them as much as the other 4 I've mentioned here. 😅

6. My least favorite ship of them I'd be pretty hard-pressed to find a ship I truly hate for Flash, though a friend did once put forward the idea of Norman Osborn/Flash and that made me see red and I was very upset LOL. Even in a kind of "fucked up but intriguing" scenario I don't want to see it. I don't think anyone's actually like... written it but the concept haunts me.

In any case I consider myself blessed there aren't really any Flash ships I truly despise - just sometimes really fucking awful takes on him in ships.
