so I am listening to the flight of the heron audiobook bc @seaglassandeelgrass posting about it last week got me intrigued and oh my god. every time the narration is from Kieth’s POV and he sees Ewen the descriptions are so horny I feel as if I’ve snooped on his diary and seen things I should not have. 😳

According to the copyright laws of film, 70 needs to have passed since the director's death. It's only been 55 years and I'm not sure if Brian Mahoney is still alive but it's definitely not been 70 years.

so obviously ewen cameron spoke some dialect of gaidhlig but like, presumably he also spoke a scots-end-of-the-spectrum dialect rather that something more like scottish english. that is to say that i think of this song written in orcadian scots in conjunction with what little i have learnt about the flight of the heron the novel
