Layered Cakes and frosting Mistakes

I never thought I'd end up being in a long term relationship with one of the infamous ninja.

Yet here we are, our one year anniversary.

Cole has been nothing but a romantic since the beginning, when he first walked into my bakery. I remember how he tripped over his shoes when he first entered, the welcome mat having been misplaced and catching the tip of his boot. I remember how I giggled lightly, still trying to keep a professional facade. The entire time I took his order- which I ended up catering a party for him and his ninja buddies- he was staring at me, starstruck. I remember how he stumbled over his words, lightly twirling the string of his hoodie between his fingers. Which I now know is more of a nervous stim than anything. I remember riding my number on the back of the receipt I had handed him, his lopsided smiled and slightly nervous demeanor charming me. I know now that he was nervous because of me, but it was still so endearing to see. His slightly flushed face and dazed look as he ordered.

I had never considered myself attractive, but he always made me feel like the most stunning person in the world.

It's after hours in my bakery now, and Cole comes in through the back door. I'd given him a key a while back, after an incident where I got so caught up in work I forgot about a date.

He greets me, pecking my forehead, then my nose, and finally landing a kiss on my lips. I smile into it, giddy in a way I can't explain.

"Hello, darling" he says, breathing slightly erratic. One can only assume if he was fighting someone or ran here. I snicker at the thought of him bolting away from his friends, just to see me.

Simple little me.

"hello, baby" I say back, pecking his lips a few more times. "Ready to bake?" I ask eyebrow raised, seeing as he is a well-known klutz in the kitchen. But he insisted on helping bake the cake for our anniversary.

His grin widens, eyes sparkling.

"I'm always ready!" His hand slide around my waist, head resting on my shoulder. "What's our first step?"

"first, mister-" I wiggle out of his grasp, before putting a finger on his chest. Finally getting a good look at the grime that's accumulated on him throughout the day "I want you to go clean up and then get on apron"

He chuckles lightly, but does is requested. We both scrub up putting on aprons. I had taken mine off because I had started doing paperwork. I had the ingredients lined on the counter and I quickly lead him over after he's ready. Excitedly explaining what type of cake we're making and how we make it, the entire time he's staring at me, and eventually I realized that the look in his eyes isn't that of someone who's keenly listening, rather, it's the look of someone who's distracted, his eyes are sparkling again and they're soft with affection.

"and-.." I trail off, before smirking. "You're not even listening, are you?"

"Hm?" His gaze raises from my lips.

I chuckle, but can't find it in me to be upset with him.

"just do exactly what I tell you, okay?"

"of course, I won't mess this up!"

..

He did indeed mess it up. There's flour everywhere, and for some reason I can feel at least a handful of salt in my apron pocket.

Not even 15 minutes in, he couldn't resist throwing a bit of flour and it dissolved from there. My sides hurt from all the laughing and his hair has become lightly dusted and white as I had shaped it up into a mohawk with a floury-watery mixture. (He encouraged it, wanted to see if we could get it to stick)

My kitchen is in a worse state than we are, various white powders staining every counter top.

But he just looks too happy to be mad at. He has a wide gummy smile, eyes crinkling at the corners, and you can tell he's having the time of his life.

I probably look similar to him, I haven't stopped smiling since he entered the room, and covered in just as much flour as he is.

I don't think I would have imagined a better way to spend my one year anniversary then making a giant mess with the person I love the most.

Activities they do that make their heart flutter

Note: this was not spell checked or anything so bare with me :)

Seungcheol: Relaxing and watching a movie together. He likes that you take a mothering role in the group. It allows him to have time to relax and your presence always relaxes him. He trusts you enough to be vulnerable with you leading to soft hours on the couch where he lays on your lap.

Jeonghan: Napping or laying down and talking. He really relies on you as his emotional support and sometimes just needs you to be there for him to sleep.

Jisoo: Playing songs on the guitar together. Whether you can play the guitar or not, he loves stimming chords and breaking our into random songs. You always sing along

Junhui: Going to cafes together. He loves exploring familiar areas and finding new places to go. Will order a cute cake and coffee. The long and endless conversations about anything and everything makes him feel like a weight has been lifted.

Soonyoung: Learning or creating choreography together. It doesn’t feel like work when he’s with you so he loves releasing energy by teaching you or dancing together.

Wonwoo: Playing a game with him. Sitting in his room playing video games together is his favourite activity because you don't take them serious but you still want to do good. He loves teaching you how to play. He also likes your company when he reads. When they first debuted, he'd read out loud to you to practise and build confidence but now he does it for fun.

Jihoon: When you visit him in his studio, forcing him to take a break or bringing him food. He secretly adores knowing that you care about him and he's really thankful for the break because he can get so caught up in work that he forgets. He becomes real cute and soft during these times and will always cuddle into you or allow you to cuddle him.

Seokmin: Doing karaoke together or just singing or humming together. He likes the way your voices harmonise but he loves having fun playing karaoke with you on trips. He loves how chaotic it gets, shouting lyrics and doing crazy dances. It makes him feel so happy and calm.

Mingyu: Cooking or baking together. He adores how fun it can get, throwing flour at each other or dropping eggs. Finds it cute when you ask to lick the bowl or spoon. He also likes how domestic and calming cooking dinner is even if it gets a bit chaotic cooking for twelve other people.

Minghao: Trying new recipes. It’s so peaceful cooking or baking together especially when you’re tying a new recipe. It’s even better when it ends up in a flour fight or fighting over who gets to lick the bowl.

Seungkwan: Your constant reassurance when the members tease him. He knows it's a joke and he finds it funny as well but even if you take part, you always pat his head or hug him. Whenever he’s feeling upset or vulnerable, he comes to you. He let’s you baby him and will just cuddle into you.

Hansol: Watching funny videos together. Sitting on his bed as he holds his phone above you both, you get lost down wormholes of random videos from cats to random youtubers. He adores this especially after a stressful day or week. You can often just tell and drag him to his room to watch videos.

Chan: Loves having someone older than him who will baby him and cuddle him with no teasing...or at least minimal teasing. He finds you so comforting and can rant to you and you'll just listen or he's just silently cuddle you. He finds it reassuring.

we'd watch musicals together and you'd probably introduce me to your favorites; then i'd end up randomly spouting lines that got stuck in my head over and over again. like you'd be minding your business and i'd stare at you and very, very quietly go, "i came as soon as i heard, whaaaat, angelicaaaa all the way from london?? daaamn—"

eventually, we'd get to a point where if we rewatched a musical together enough, we'd act out the lines dramatically as they play in the background, scream-whisper-singing along as if we were the ones on stage.

Sebek would take some convincing to just *relax* for once so the other two would always be doing things to distract him and get his mind away from mmmm protec mode. i also feel like jack would have some hella cute and creative date ideas. also he would take them on like a hike to somewhere hella aesthetic and pretty and sebek would be stimming so hard

i’m thinking low stress dates are a goto for this pair. just cuddling and relaxing, taking each others minds off of the day they had. it would take some getting used to at first, for them to learn to just be comfortable in each other’s presence, but they’d quickly become addicted to just chilling. when they are relaxing they’re exploring, and probably making bad decisions and/or conning people into things (coughs at azul). there’s always a detour on their trips because one of them gets some wack idea and they just have to do it

Idia and Cater do gaming dates. like. a lot of gaming dates. But also Cater is one to push Idia outside of his comfort zone and get him to do more than just be holed up in his room all day. They sometimes also include Ortho when they plan things, as Cater has a soft spot for the little guy and loves talking tech with him.

TreyCater:

first and foremost, Trey teaches Cater how to bake. And by that I mean Trey bakes and Cater takes pictures until Trey “accidentally” dumps Caters phone in flour. The two of them are often doing something creative and artistic that at the same time, Cater can get cute pictures of. I think things like a tie dye day would be cute.

FloRid:

I don’t know much about Floyd but he gives off silly goofy goober vibes so I think the way he’d interact with Riddle would be very much a physical and quality time approach. He seems the type to want to share things with his partner, and he’d be constantly telling Riddle all about his childhood and showing him all sorts of fun things. Riddle would just listen and admire him. also lots of cuddles.

Wheelercest Headcanons!

As always- these are my personal Headcanons so if you disagree please don't send hate 🫶 if you have anything you personally like feel free to share cause I love hearing people's thoughts.

- So these two take SO LONG to get together

- two emotionally constipated siblings who have problems talking about their feelings? Those two are struggling

- I think their confession is less of a specific conversation and rather it stims from a growing understanding of each other.

- maybe around season 1 and 2, they have a conversation about losing their individual friends and they spend the night together

- They start cuddling and spending the night in each other rooms, eventually leading to just spending time together

- their first date is Nancy making Mike help her cook dinner. Their parents are out, Holly is at their grandparents house and they have the house alone

- they have a movie night and while they're cooking Nancy gets aggravated by something he says and just

-throws flour at him

-of course this leads to a cheesy food fight ending with Mike grabbing her and tackling her and they just land on top of each other.

-that kind of seals the deal there, and they cuddle up while watching the movie

- Nancy definitely is the big spoon, not only cause she's initially taller, but because she feels better knowing he's safe there

-likewise, Mike worries so much about everyone- he likes being held by his sister and assured that he can relax and breathe

-obviously they aren't super touchy in public, but around friends they can be found cuddling or touching in some way- usually Nancy on the couch, Mike between her legs and her hands in his hair.

-He'll sometimes wrap his arms around her, especially when he grows taller and can sit his head on her shoulder.

-she definitely makes him try on makeup because she loves his cheekbones

-Nancy is much more assertive between the two, but Mike is stubborn

-their friends are very hesitant to accept their relationship, but they do come around when they see how happy they are

-Nancy is 1000X more protective during battles, she has a gun in her car because she's that much more paranoid about monsters

-she also teaches Mike on how to use one because 'a candle stick isn't a weapon Mike!'

-Nancy tries understanding his interest more, and Mike begrudgingly watches her favourite movies to find some common ground. Halloween they'll often dress up, only for their friends parties and always as a couple costume (the year they did Leia and Luke was their favourite because of the irony)

-As Mike gets more into the alternative style and interests he tries finding bands for Nancy (she likes Blondie and Joan Jett, but not Aerosmith or Metallica as much)

-they go to other states for concerts so that they can go as a couple and not siblings

-they have a hidden shoe box of Polaroids with photos of them kissing, holding hands and being less than familial
