I also want to add as a football lover: I love that they are exploring how a superstar footballer can disrupt a safe and growing space for a team.

The team is becoming lazy. The first episode of Ted Lasso, the team's strategy was the same as the one they are playing with Zava. They had Jamie in the front and all other footballers were meant to pass to Jamie to score.

Ted changed that. Ted got Jamie to make the extra pass ffs. And in the start of the season they were planning to play with the 4-4-2, the 2 being Jamie and Dani as their striker but now with Zava it became 4-5-1. They dropped Colin from the starting 11 and pulled Jamie and Dani in midfield and only striker is now Zava.

I said it in a previous post. I am worried about Ted this season. He is not doing well! There are major warning signs with him and I worry they will get worse. He is not getting the support he needs from his therapist, either. Also, because the team is doing well, Ted is involving with the players less and less and add that with his personal issues, that seems to be getting worse.

I think we will get clapped at the end of this season even if Richmond wins the league, it won't be a victory.

Maria Tikas (a very trusted Barca reporter) just spoke her kind on the matter.

Normally, for players to get the medical clear to play matches they first need to at least complete 4-6 weeks worth of 100% training with the team.

What we have heard from the club is that those proceedings haven't started yet, but Jona said that she was close.

Plus, don't forget that nobody wants to force her comeback as the chances for relapse are high in ACL injuries.

Relevo thinks that she will come back the 27th but their sources and the stuff that they have put out aren't 100% reliable.

Messi will probably win the Ballon d’Or this year mostly due to the World Cup, but Kevin de Bruyne deserves it the most. If I hear someone say “but he already had a great team, that’s why he preformed so well” I will literally go feral, because in many ways man city was successful thanks to his selflessness. Thoughts on today:

Didn't like the sauce holding call. Hate to say it but kind of foresaw it with his last pbu bc he was doing the same thing but they should have been consistent instead of saving it for the final minutes. Iirc ppl complained ab his holding last year too.

Zach- showing progress. In that time where a qb shows flashes but idk if he'll ever put it together bc he has this season to show he's not expendable. Also a lot of pressure and frustrating considering how the rest of the roster is built to be a serious contender and now they waste another year. Luckily for him the team seems to be a lot more understanding than fans bc i've only seen them show support for him, which is sweet.

Someone should make an appreciation post for cj stroud bc the kid is killing it in houston.

I hate when i get my hopes up about an upset and it doesn't happen.

hi friend! thank you!! okay I grew up in a football-heavy town and family so I’m happy to try and help here.

in each drive, the team with the ball has four chances to advance down the field. those four chances are called downs. each down is 10 yards, so if they advance the ball more than 10 yards on the first try, the chances (downs) reset. if they don’t, it moves to the second chance, third chance, or fourth chance (downs) and they have to move it how ever many yards needed to reach that original 10 yard line. for example! say they move the ball 4 yards on the first down. it moves to second down with 6 yards to go to reset to first down. hence, phrases like 2nd and 6!

once they’re at fourth down, they can either go for it and try to reset their chances by “getting a first down” or kick a field goal if they’re in kicking range (this is based on how good their kicker is). if they go for it though and don’t advance the ball enough for a first down, the opposing team gets the ball there which can be super dangerous if they’re close to their own end zone.

Football isn’t a secret members club, it’s for everyone! Some people create blogs like this to actually understand the sport better, which is a valid reason. To me people that actually lack the understanding of football would gatekeep it..how can you gatekeep something that is the most popular sport in the world? Is there a membership card you have to have to show proof that you’re a football fan?? No. That’s because it’s for everyone! At the end of the day the sport is about bringing everyone together for about 90minutes and to let us feel the collective spirit of us humans, that lead different lives outside the stadium. That’s the beauty of the sport!! Football can be your whole life, but no one should feel the obligation to proofing to anyone how many matches they watch throughout the season to prove their knowledge and enjoyment in the sport.

Football is entertainment. Yes, it does have politics that playing into it, but first and foremost it’s entertainment, and like with any entertainment, you may know everything about, eg. football player’s life, but does that make you a bigger fan than someone that just loves to art-form of the said entertainment? You may think so, but the answer is actually no. It’s about bringing families, friends, colleagues, strangers and rivals together! That is football, not only statistics, but also an art form. Those that will only look at stats are the ones that have misinterpreted the purpose of the sport and any sport. These stats may be valid for the players or the team, but not for the regular watcher. Just because some player is a striker and scores many goals, doesn’t mean he’s any better than a defender. Absolutely not! To win a match you have to score goals, and to win a match you have to prevent goals from happening.

i sympathize with barca even after everything they did to messi, it's still nice to see they win. i don't mind them!

the serie a teams are also very appealing to me, i have a preference for roma because of paredes and dybala but nothing that would make me dislike or not support other teams.

my og team is santos, from brazil and always will be the only team i would pay good money to watch (and brazil of course but i've watched brazil play twice and both we lost lol);
