why do people watch the scene when lucerys says rhaenyra is perfect and their reaction automatically is "no boy, she isn't", yeah we know it and we should not care atm. it's luke's opinion. how much does it say about rhae??
she is so kind and loving mother. loves equally her sons from both fathers AND daemon's daughters. she taught them well and respects the children no matter for their age and gender, she supports them and helps with their future responsibilities
she clearly is good for people in the dragonstone cause her ladies were horrified and crying during her labor, every little scene we saw the people respect and like her, elinda massey is great example
she must be a good ruler, even if just on the dragonstone but we also know she was an active member of small council and has supports and sympathy of lords (those who are not against her just bc of her gender), especially those who know her personally like lord caswell or lord beesburry
she is perfect in the eyes of her kids and when luke says that, your instant reaction doesn't have to be "nah, she's not", bitch, did he ask for your opinion
The lady ghosts had swarmed Hua Cheng like ducks; no doubt they really liked his scent. The ghost qi that Hua Cheng transferred to Xie Lian was assuredly of the highest quality, so there was no need to buy Ghost Scent Candies. However, to avoid anyone finding out that the qi was only a surface coat, they might need to press their lips together like last time and have Hua Cheng pass on something more tangible, like air or bodily fluids... Xie Lian immediately stopped himself from thinking about this any further.

was reminiscing about this scene today because with the post-canon fact that Xie Lian is pretty much constantly covered in Hua Cheng's evil qi and evil """essence""", on the outside of his body as well as on the, ahem, inside - I can only imagine that when he ventures out on his own he has more minor ghosts and nefarious creatures swarming him than he can shake a stick at because he now smells like delicious pastry to them 🤭
I also love that this scene is more proof that not only does Xie Lian desire Hua Cheng just as much as Hua Cheng desires him, Xie Lian specifically fantasizes about being even more intimately marked as Hua Cheng's and taking Hua Cheng's """essence""" into himself. the mere idea seems to arouse him so much that he immediately shuts down his own thoughts, the poor guy. so it just makes me really happy for him to know that his fantasies will very much become reality and then some 😏
The way Qian can't even bring himself to genuinely say no, to deny himself, but cannot admit his feelings either. He cannot face himself just as he cannot face Yuan and can barely face Lili.
(He's been trying to protect them so long but never realized how much Yuan was protecting him as well, how taken care of he was, until he lost it all.)
Yuan's worry reflecting on Qian's own pained and lonely state, Qian being so determined to keep Yuan from coming back to take care of him again even as he realizes how much that meant to him, both of them protecting each other.
Even across the sea, even across nothing but text, Yuan still gets the response out of Qian that no one else does, still gets him to start to take care of himself and to think about himself.
Because Qian loves him and knows he is loved, knows that Yuan loves him in a way that is different than everyone else, has relied on that love for so long.
(And everything is a reminder of Yuan, everyone knew Yuan, everyone knew how he took care of Qian and how much Qian relied on him even if Qian didn't know.)
we spend the entire show watching house do anything to treat his pain — he goes to (understandably) insane, destructive lengths just to ensure he never has to suffer being sober. his entire life is focused around a cycle of distraction, thrill-seeking, and avoidance. we know that his home is filled with hundreds upon hundreds of pills, so he can always prolong and maximise those moments where his agony is muffled. and yet, in the final scene, we see him dive head-on into the end, and despite this being the most gruelling, insurmountable prognosis of his entire life, we see him smile bathed in the sunlight; those muted tones are dauntingly lifted, yet there’s no echo of a bottle rattling.
In season 1 episode 1 of Game Changer Brennan Lee Mulligan said “there is no corner of my heart I would not turn over to the world for 5 points” and Sam Reich really said “bet”.
Let’s make this very clear, calling for a ceasefire isn’t inherently bad or antisemitic, if you call for one on both sides.
It is bad and antisemitic if you call for one on only one side, do not call for a ceasefire on Israels side and just let Hamas keep shooting rockets into Israel and holding hostages.
