I was yesterday years old when I learnt that Akutagawa-sensei had traveled to China
#my dad knew I was interested in Akutagawa lately since I was looking for his books and found me a historical drama about him XD#it's called A stranger in Shanghai if anyone's interested it is supposedly based off his journals he wrote#China was quite the precarious situation in the modern era with attempts at reforms the collapse of the qing dynasty the invasions by#foreign powers struggling for unity and attempting to draw in western philosophies and ideology for reform...#it is at these times that I wish I had more detailed understanding of Chinese history and literature...#what I know is not quite enough :')#but anyways there are stuff I can read online about how this trip may have affected him and his writing and I'm kinda curious#I will read more on him and his works... some day#honestly I'm just surprised to hear he went#*thinks about the eight nation alliance*#kat rambles
