Friends, we spoke with the management of the "Kazkova Dibrova" zoo in occupied Novaya Kakhovka. they confirmed to us that the zoo was completely flooded and only swans and ducks could escape 😭💔
The person we spoke to (name withheld for security reasons) said: "We tried our best to keep the zoo under occupation. Now it no longer exists."
I'm home! Mom already cleaned up everything when she got here, saving me from more cleaning. The broken windows are boarded up and the internet isn't working, but mobile data is working much better than anything I had access to the past months. Both the windows and internet should be able to get fixed this week.
Unfortunately, my gym is in shambles. It seems inevitable to shut it down, which would be a huge loss. I might be able to retrieve some of the equipment and sell that to make up for it a little bit. It hurts to think about it.
This will be a busy week sorting out everything. I should be able to get back on track and post more frequently from next week onwards. In the meantime, I am posting remaining media from the refuge twice a week in my free members area, to be found under 'join' (or 'feed' when logged in) on my website, linked in my bio.
I cannot fully imagine life under occupation. And life under occupation by russia...
It is beyond imagination how people felt during those long months of occupation, how they fought for their freedom.
One can hardly imagine the entire scale of heroism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the efforts of all the people involved in making our Victory come closer.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!
I am proud of my country, our incredible people, I am proud of the humanity of American, European ordinary people who, with their kindness, attentiveness, have helped and continue to help our Ukrainian families survive this horror that we received for no reason in the 21st century from a "brotherly" neighbor.
Thank you people, thank you to everyone who takes any part in maintaining peace and justice.
Even 2 months ago, I did not understand that such kindness is possible from another (unfamiliar) people.
You guys don't even know how awesome you are
