Utilizing a reputable stud dog can elevate your breeding program and ensure that your puppies are of the highest quality.
If you're specifically looking for Frenchie puppies for sale, you’ll find a variety of options available in both New Zealand and Australia. When considering adding a cream white Frenchie to your family, it's crucial to select a breeder who prioritizes health and well-being over appearance. By doing so, you can enjoy the companionship of a healthy, happy puppy that will be a loyal addition to your home.
In conclusion, whether you are looking for French bulldog breeders in New Zealand, a stud dog for sale in Australia, or specific Frenchie puppies for sale, doing thorough research is vital. Prioritize health, ethical breeding practices, and the well-being of the dogs to ensure that you bring home a wonderful new companion.

Sim's Best Friend Legacy Challenge
This is my first Sims 4 Legacy Challenge, so please be kind to me! I will post simlit of my sims' journey through this legacy here. I chose the top 10 dog breeds for this challenge according to the short search I did. I plan to make optional generations soon, since there are so many lovable dog breeds!
You NEED Cats & Dogs if you want to play this correctly! Everything else can be substituted if you want.
Bonus challenge: Try to make your sim look as close to their puppy companion as possible.
Use the #sbflegacy hashtag if you'd like to share!
Overall rules for the challenge are:
Play on normal lifespan. (short for a challenge, long for relaxed) Animal aging on!
Cheats to advance careers, skills, aspirations, or generational goals are discouraged.
You must keep the generation’s lot challenge on the lot until the heir becomes a Young Adult.
Mods and CC are welcome, as long as they don’t give you an unfair advantage over other players.
Feel free to make reasonable substitutions or skip generations if you don’t have the packs used.
Unless specified, you may have children in whatever way (birth, adoption, science baby) as long as you have an heir (excluding the last generation).
You can move onto the next generation once all goals are complete or once the heir becomes a Young Adult.
Your sim must have one of the generation's "companions" at all times until the heir becomes a Young Adult. You must adopt dogs as a puppies and keep them until they die of old age. You can either cheat to change their breed in CAS, add strays to the world and adopt them, or add them directly to your household.

From Wrinkly Wonders to Gentle Giants: A Guide to Dogue de Bordeaux Puppies
Tumblr media
Those irresistible puppy dog eyes hold a special kind of magic, and Dogue de Bordeaux puppies are no exception. These pint-sized versions of the majestic Dogue de Bordeaux, also known as Bordeaux Mastiffs or French Bulldogs (though not to be confused with their smaller, bat-eared cousins!), are bundles of wrinkled charm and playful energy. But beneath those adorable folds and clumsy paws lies the potential for a powerful and loyal canine companion.
Wondering if a Dogue de Bordeaux puppy might be the perfect addition to your fur-ever family? This comprehensive guide will delve into the fascinating world of DDB puppies, equipping you with the knowledge to navigate the early stages of their development and ensure a smooth transition into your life.
The Miracle of Birth: Welcoming a DDB Litter
The average Dogue de Bordeaux litter size is around 6-8 puppies. The gestation period is approximately 63 days, and during this time, providing the expecting mother with proper nutrition, comfortable bedding, and plenty of rest is crucial. Once the joyful arrival of the puppies occurs, responsible breeders will monitor them closely, ensuring they receive colostrum (the first milk produced by the mother) and proper nourishment in the critical first few weeks.
Those First Few Weeks: Early Development of a DDB Pup
The first eight weeks of life are a critical period for DDB puppies. Here's what you can expect during this time:
The Neonatal Stage (0-2 weeks):  Puppies are blind and deaf at birth, relying solely on their sense of smell and touch to locate their mother and nurse. Their primary focus is on eating and sleeping, and the breeder will take care of all their needs during this stage.
The Transitional Stage (2-4 weeks):  Eyes and ears begin to open, and puppies start exploring their surroundings. They develop their sense of balance and begin to wobble around on unsteady legs.
The Socialization Stage (4-8 weeks):  This crucial period is when puppies learn about the world around them and develop social skills. Responsible breeders will introduce them to different sights, sounds, and textures, as well as interact with them regularly to foster confidence and prevent shyness.
Choosing Your Perfect Pup: Selecting a DDB From a Breeder
Finding a reputable breeder is essential when welcoming a Dogue de Bordeaux puppy into your life. Here are some key factors to consider:
Health Testing:  Reputable breeders health test their breeding stock for common Dogue de Bordeaux health concerns like hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and cherry eye.
Breeder Reputation:  Research the breeder's background and reputation. Look for breeders who are members of recognized kennel clubs and prioritize the health and well-being of their dogs.
Meeting the Parents:  If possible, meet the mother and father of the puppies. They should be calm, confident, and well-socialized dogs.
Puppy Selection:  During your visit, observe the litter's temperament. Choose a puppy that is curious, playful, and comfortable being handled. Avoid overly shy or timid pups.
Ask Questions!  A responsible breeder will be happy to answer your questions about the breed, the parents' health history, and the puppies' upbringing.
Bringing Your DDB Puppy Home: Preparing for Their Arrival
Once you've chosen your perfect DDB pup, it's time to prepare your home for their arrival. Here are some essentials to have on hand:
Cozy Bedding:  Provide a soft and comfortable bed for your puppy to sleep in. A crate can also be helpful for house training and creating a safe space.
Food and Water Bowls:  Choose bowls appropriate for your puppy's size.  Stainless steel or ceramic bowls are easy to clean and dishwasher-safe.
High-Quality Puppy Food:  Consult with your veterinarian or breeder for a recommendation on a puppy food specifically formulated for large breed puppies.
Leash and Collar:  Choose a comfortable collar and leash that will fit your growing pup. A harness might be a better option for training walks in the beginning.
Chew Toys:  Provide your puppy with plenty of safe chew toys to satisfy their natural chewing instinct and prevent them from destroying furniture.
The First Few Days: Settling In Your DDB Puppy
The first few days in their new home can be overwhelming for a DDB puppy. Here's how to help them adjust smoothly:
Create a Safe Space:  Set up a puppy playpen or designate a specific area as your puppy's safe haven. This will provide them with a familiar space to rest and feel secure.
Stick to a Schedule:  Establish a consistent routine for feeding, playtime, potty breaks, and bedtime. This will help your puppy feel comfortable and predictable in their new environment.
Shower Them with Love (But Not Too Much!):  While positive interaction and affection are crucial, avoid overwhelming your puppy with constant attention.  Allow them time to explore their surroundings and rest when needed.
Supervise Playtime:  Dogue de Bordeaux puppies are bundles of clumsiness and boundless energy. Supervise playtime to prevent them from hurting themselves or damaging your belongings.
Start Early Socialization:  Continue the socialization efforts begun by the breeder.  Introduce your puppy to new people, animals, and environments in a positive and controlled manner.
Puppyhood Essentials: Training, Potty Training, and Teething
The first year of your DDB puppy's life is a critical time for development and establishing good habits. Here's a breakdown of some key areas to focus on:
Training:  Start with basic obedience commands like sit, stay, come, and down.  Dogue de Bordeaux puppies are intelligent but can be stubborn at times. Use positive reinforcement techniques like treats, praise, and petting to keep training sessions fun and engaging.
Potty Training:  Dogue de Bordeaux puppies can take longer to potty train due to their large size. Be patient and consistent with your approach. A crate can be a helpful tool in potty training, as puppies typically will not eliminate in their confined space. Take your puppy outside frequently, especially after meals, playtime, and naps. Reward them with praise and treats when they eliminate in the designated area.
Teething:  Like all puppies, Dogue de Bordeaux experience teething discomfort. Provide them with plenty of safe chew toys to help soothe their gums and redirect their chewing instinct away from furniture. Frozen teething toys can offer additional relief.
Nutrition for Growing Giants: Feeding Your DDB Puppy
Proper nutrition is essential for healthy growth and development in DDB puppies. Here's what you need to know:
Choose a High-Quality Puppy Food:  Select a puppy food specifically formulated for large breed puppies. These formulas contain the right balance of nutrients to support bone and muscle development.
Portion Control Matters:  Dogue de Bordeaux puppies grow rapidly, but avoid overfeeding to prevent them from becoming overweight. Consult with your veterinarian for specific feeding recommendations based on your puppy's age, weight, and activity level.
Fresh Water is Key:  Provide your puppy with fresh, clean water at all times. This is especially important during puppyhood as they are prone to dehydration.
Caring for Your DDB Puppy's Health: Vaccinations and Vet Visits
Regular veterinary care is crucial for maintaining your DDB puppy's health and well-being. Here's what to expect:
Vaccinations:  Puppies require a series of vaccinations in the first few months of life to protect them from preventable diseases. Follow the vaccination schedule recommended by your veterinarian.
Parasite Prevention:  Start your puppy on a parasite prevention program that protects them from internal and external parasites like fleas, ticks, and worms.
Early Detection:  Regular vet checkups allow your veterinarian to monitor your puppy's growth and development and detect any potential health concerns early on.
The Joys and Challenges of Raising a DDB Puppy
Owning a Dogue de Bordeaux puppy comes with both immense joy and unique challenges. Here's a realistic picture:
Unending Cuteness:  There's no denying the undeniable cuteness of a DDB puppy. Their wrinkled faces, clumsy antics, and playful spirit are sure to melt your heart.
Power and Playfulness:  These pups are bundles of energy, and their size can lead to some unexpected tumbles and furniture rearrangements. Be prepared for an active lifestyle and puppy-proof your home to avoid accidents.
Drool Factor:  Dogue de Bordeaux are notorious droolers. Invest in a good supply of drool cloths and keep them handy!
Cleaning Up After Them:  Large size translates to large messes! Be prepared for plenty of walks and potty breaks.
Lifelong Commitment:  Dogue de Bordeaux have a lifespan of 8-11 years.  Bringing one into your life is a long-term commitment. Consider your lifestyle and ability to care for a large dog for their entire life before welcoming a puppy into your home.
The DDB Puppy: A Furry Friend for Life
Dogue de Bordeaux puppies are a captivating blend of adorable clumsiness and impressive potential. They require dedicated ownership, but for those who can provide the space, training, and love they deserve, these gentle giants can become cherished members of the family for years to come.
Beyond the Puppy Years: Preparing for Your DDB's Adulthood
While those adorable puppy dog eyes might fade a bit, the loyalty and loving nature of your Dogue de Bordeaux will only deepen as they mature. Here's a glimpse into what to expect as your DDB puppy grows into a majestic adult:
Maintaining Training:  Continue practicing basic obedience commands throughout your Dogue de Bordeaux's life. Regular training sessions strengthen your bond and ensure your furry friend remains well-mannered.
Exercise Needs:  While adult Dogue de Bordeaux aren't overly active, they still require daily walks and playtime to maintain their physical and mental well-being. Adjust the intensity of their exercise routine as they age, focusing on activities that don't strain their joints.
The DDB Sniffari:  Dogue de Bordeaux possess a strong sense of smell. Incorporate sniffing games and walks in new environments to provide mental stimulation and keep them engaged.
The Gentle Giant:  As adults, Dogue de Bordeaux truly embody their nickname. Their protectiveness intensifies, but with proper socialization and training, they remain loving and gentle companions.
Living with a DDB: Considerations for Adult Life
Here are some additional factors to keep in mind when sharing your life with an adult Dogue de Bordeaux:
Space Requirements:  These are large dogs! They need ample space indoors and out to feel comfortable. Backyard security is crucial, as their impressive size might allow them to jump over low fences.
Heat Management:  Dogue de Bordeaux don't tolerate hot weather well. Provide them with access to air conditioning, shaded areas, and plenty of water during hot days.
Continued Grooming:  While their short coat requires minimal brushing, their facial folds still require regular cleaning to prevent moisture buildup and potential skin irritation.
Lifelong Veterinary Care:  Regular vet checkups and preventative care are essential for maintaining your DDB's health throughout their life.
The DDB Legacy: A Breed Worth Celebrating
Dogue de Bordeaux puppies may be bundles of clumsiness and boundless energy, but they mature into magnificent companions with a heart of gold. Their loyalty, intelligence, and gentle nature make them a truly special breed. Owning a Dogue de Bordeaux is a rewarding experience, but it requires knowledge, dedication, and a love for large, slobbery goofballs. If you can provide the space, training, and affection they need, a Dogue de Bordeaux might just become the perfect furry friend to walk beside you through life's adventures.
So, are you ready to welcome a Dogue de Bordeaux puppy into your life? With careful consideration, responsible ownership, and a whole lot of love, you can embark on a journey filled with slobbery kisses, playful antics, and the unwavering companionship of a gentle giant.
A Watchful Protector: For The Progression Of The Ages
Mastiffs, gentle giants with ancient roots, come in various breeds. Loyal guardians with calm temperaments, they require ample space, training, and experienced owners due to their size and strength. Though some breeds have wrinkles, all Mastiffs offer a lifetime of devotion.

We've got to kill the culture around dogs (and in many ways most pets). Like people feel so entitled to owning an animal and talk about dogs is all sunshine and rainbows, but most people don't properly care for them.
Regardless of your yard size you should be taking your dog for walks, they want to roam and explore. If you have a high energy breed you need to be playing with it daily for at least SOME extended time. If you don't want to/can't do these things you probably shouldn't have a dog.
Dogs should have other dogs or owners to sleep/cuddle/play with, they're pack animals. If you have to crate your dog while you're out during the day or at night you need to immediately work on training it to be okay uncrated. Imagine you're behaving like a normal person but your family doesn't like how you act and so they just lock you away in a cage barely bigger than a closet for 8+ hours of the day.
Don't buy/adopt dog breeds that aren't going to fit your needs. I don't care how much you like a breed or whatever, if you have children, can't be as active, don't have as big a home, share walls with neighbors, etc. these are all things that may impact the breed you should get and it doesn't matter if you want a different one. You should not expect the animal to confirm to how you live just because you like the way it looks. It's not a piece of furniture.
Dogs shouldn't have ears, tails, etc. cut for aesthetics. I've heard some people say that some breeds need it done for different reasons, but I don't know anything about it so there may be some cases where it's needed.
If you want a bird, you better have space for it to fly (and fly well, not half a foot of space) and have it uncaged plenty. Imagine keeping an animal with fucking wings in a 1x3 ft cage.
Rabbits should be allowed to roam at least a room. "Well I want to, but they poop or bite stuff. 😔" Yeah they're fucking rabbits, that's what you get if you want to own a fucking rabbit.
Fish need more space, plants, hiding places, cleaner tanks.
Cats need toys/play time, they may need more personal or private space. Cats should NEVER be declawed and should be given plenty of things to scratch. They will probably still bite/claw things they shouldn't, they're fucking animals and you should have expected them to act as such. They also deserve clean litter boxes. You don't want to use a toilet that's overflowing do you?
All pets need regular veterinary care and owners with the ability to afford that for them.
Long-haired pets and others may need regular grooming. "He bites when we brush him." Yeah because you never got him used to it as a kitten and you're pulling his fur, there are a number of ways to try and remediate the situation or improve it over time. If the situation requires immediate attention vets can usually assist in grooming sedated pets. "But that's expensive." Yeah, you bought a long-haired cat that you haven't been grooming properly (or that is just a bit of a mess of an animal but that's how it be sometimes).
This is all without getting into the ethics surrounding different breeds that will be born with specific health issues like French bulldogs (respiratory issues, hip issues, and many more) or Scottish folds (their ears are folded because of a condition that can distort cartilage development throughout the body).
Also not even touching on common exotic pets because I don't know much about them (reptiles, amphibians, insects) or horses.
ALSO, don't even get me fucking started on wild animals as pets. Obviously there is a wild spectrum between people who nurse a raccoon that was orphaned and people who keep chimpanzees or tigers as pets, but rarely is there ever a good reason for anyone to have a pet like that. There are extreme cases that may justify having that sort of thing,

Dogs should eat trash, scraps, human food and small animals like mice and birds. You should also die by diseases, over heating, too cold, drowning, and falling too high. In fact every sim! There should be alpha(most likely the player) beta ( your first pack member and mate) omega (lowest skill level dog) and everyone In between. And as your puppies grow up you must make them leave to go off into the world! It would show you what your puppy would look like if you did and it would make things easier rather than running around trying to find your breed. And maybe let the levels be a little closer together for adding new dogs. You should incorporate that or in a different sim. A normal dog would have 3 or more puppies. And I’m sooo happy you used my idea!(if you saw the email)ġ litters. I was the one who sent you the email about the dog sim and the jungle sim if you actually saw that email. Fill for square N5 - “pets” for the @stb-bingo ! read it here on ao3
***
Steve texts Tony when he gets home, just to be sure his boyfriend is still out and their apartment is empty. As soon as the affirmative response arrives, he pats the box sitting securely in his passenger seat and jumps out of the car. He only has a short window of time before Tony arrives home from work, and he wants to make this surprise perfect.
He leaves the box for the moment and pops his trunk, hands on his hips as he tries to plan the most efficient way to get all of the bags into the house. Part of him says to just take all of the bags at once, that way he can come back for the box and have everything done in two easy trips. But he can already hear Tony scolding him in the back of his head, so he starts with just a few. It still only takes him three trips, the last allowing him to take the remaining few bags in one hand and heft the huge bag of dog food onto his other shoulder.
Then all that’s left is the box.
Once all of the supplies are spread out on their living room floor, Steve jogs down the front steps of their apartment building and goes for the passenger door. He leans in, carefully picking up the slightly wiggling box on the seat. A little nose pokes out of one of the holes on the side, making him chuckle. Holding the box securely in both arms, he uses a foot to kick the door shut and heads back up the two flights of stairs to their apartment.
Inside, Steve sets the box down on the floor and sits next to it. There’s a soft bark from within the box, and as soon as he opens the flaps, two big ears and a curious little face pop out. He holds out his hand with a grin, and the little french bulldog puppy sniffs it for a second before eagerly bathing it with her tongue. The sensation makes Steve chuckle. He lets her go for a minute before lifting her out of the box and tucking her against his chest. Her tiny body looks even smaller in his large hands.
She’s small enough that he can hold her securely with one hand while he picks up a couple of the bags with the other and carries them into their bedroom. The puppy starts wiggling as they enter the room, excited to explore the space. So Steve sets the bags on the bed and crouches down to gently set her on the floor. He watches her waddle around on her squat little legs, nose to the carpet to sniff the space. The sight makes his heart swell even bigger.
Tony was going to lose it when he sees her.
Steve keeps one eye on the puppy while going through the bags from the pet store. He sets the plush bed in a corner of the room, tucking a soft blanket and one of the plush toys inside. The other toys he leaves in the bag and sets them on the dresser to be scattered around their apartment later.
He finds the newest member of their little family with her paws on the bathtub, staring intently at the porcelain. Steve laughs, scooping her up and carrying her back into the bedroom.
“What’s so fascinating in there, little miss? Are you gonna be a prima donna and enjoy taking long baths like your daddy?”
The puppy gets deposited on the bed, and Steve hopes the height will be a deterrent to her jumping off and getting into anything while he goes to hide her food and treats out of the way in the kitchen so Tony doesn’t seem them the minute he walks in the door. He doesn’t want the surprise to be spoiled too early.
Once he has everything stowed out of sight in the kitchen cabinets, Steve goes back into the bedroom, a pretty collar and bow in his hand. The puppy sits in the middle of their big bed, and she yips at him as soon as she sees him. He sits down next to her, scratching under her chin before tugging her into his lap. She goes without protest, watching his fingers as he unclasps the collar. As he moves to put it around her neck, she nips at his fingers and he winces at the sharp bite of her pointy puppy teeth.
“Easy there, you little hellion. You really are gonna be as bad as Tony, aren’t you?”
Steve figures out how to dodge her teeth fairly quickly, and gets the glittery gold collar clasped without any more bloodshed. The puppy scratches at it a little before ignoring it to tug at the big red bow he attaches next. But she’s easily distracted by one of the toys, just in time for Steve’s phone to chime with a message from Tony. His boyfriend is about twenty minutes out, so he leaves the puppy to chew on the toy and goes into the kitchen to start dinner.
There’s pasta boiling on the stove and Steve is steadily working his way through a small pile of veggies for a salad when he hears Tony’s key in the lock.
“Honey, I’m home!”
Steve snorts, grinning down at the cutting board while carefully working the knife. “In the kitchen!” A few moments later, two arms wrap around his waist and Steve feels the shorter man squish his face in between his shoulder blades. He sets the knife down and covers Tony’s hands with his own. “Welcome home, sweetheart.”
Whatever Tony tries to say is muffled in the back of his shirt, and Steve chuckles before turning around and pressing a kiss into dark curls. “What was that? I didn’t quite catch it.”
Tony huffs, but leans back just enough so he can look up at Steve and speak clearly. “I said, I hate interns. They all stare at me like they’re either terrified of me or completely starstruck. Or both. There’s only one in the entire bunch that actually looks promising.”
The blonde smiles and lets his hands drift down until they’re cupping Tony’s gorgeous backside. “They’re all in awe of your brilliance and your beauty. I thought you liked being admired by the masses.” He takes pleasure in the blush that spreads over Tony’s cheeks and down his neck.
“I need brilliant young minds working for me, Steve, not a bunch of starry eyed fans. Besides, you know the only person I want admiring me is you, hot stuff.”
Steve’s powerless to resist leaning down to steal Tony’s breath away with a kiss after that statement. They kiss for a minute, before the sound of the pasta water starting to boil makes Steve step away and turn to pour the raw noodles into the pan. “Can you go into the bedroom and get my phone off the charger? I wanna check the recipe again.”
“Sure thing, babe.”
He listens as Tony goes down the hall, holding his breath as he waits. He hears the door creak open, and then there’s nothing but silence until…
“S-Steve? What…”
Steve comes around the corner and finds Tony standing in their bedroom doorway, one hand still on the knob as he stares wide-eyed into the room. The puppy is oblivious to both of them, looking tiny in the center of their king sized bed where she’s laying wrapped around the toy Steve had used as a distraction.
The blonde comes up behind Tony and tugs him back against his chest, a mirror of the position they had been in a few minutes ago. He leans down a little to tuck his chin over the brunette’s shoulder. “Surprise, honey.”
Tony’s eyes well up a little with tears, and Steve can feel the way he trembles as his hands come up to clutch Steve’s arms.
“Steve… what is this?”
Steve walks them slowly into the room, and the movement finally catches the puppy’s attention. She abandons the toy and waddles on her short legs towards the edge of the bed, stubby little tail wiggling hard enough that it shakes her whole body. Tony collapses onto the bed and holds out his hands, the tears in his eyes finally spilling over when she comes to him immediately and climbs into his lap. Steve sits next to him and reaches out to scratch behind her ears.
“The one thing you’ve talked about more than anything, the entire time I’ve known you, is how much you always wanted a puppy but Howard always forbade it. So I made a promise to myself that one day when we had a place of our own, that’s the first thing I would get you. I went down to the shelter today, and there was a whole litter of them that had been abandoned. One look, and I knew she was meant for us. Her name is Daisy.”
Tony cradles the puppy in his still shaking hands, and carefully holds her up so they were eye to eye. Steve could see the instant the younger man fell in love, could see it in the brilliant smile that spreads across his face.
“Hello, Daisy. You’re just the prettiest girl in the whole wide world, aren’t you?”
She yips, as if agreeing that she was in fact the prettiest girl. Both men laugh, and Tony pulls her in to cradle her against his chest. He sighs, a soft and content sound that Steve knows well. Mentally, he’s cheering at how well this surprise worked out.
“You know I’m gonna spoil the shit out of her, Steve. This is your one and only warning, and I’m not sorry.”
Steve barks out a laugh, turning his head to press his forehead against Tony’s, eyes closed.
“I know, baby. I knew exactly what I was getting into when I picked her up. And don’t underestimate me. I’m probably going to be just as bad.”
“I love you, Steve.”
“I love you too, honey.”

"Hollywood can’t believe Harry’s dissed Queen Oprah"
Santa Monica is a soothing place to be locked down. I moved here from New York for four months in November with my two adult kids after I lost my beloved husband, Harry Evans [HE died in Sept 202]. I couldn’t face the task of finishing a book in our empty country house where for years we’d shown each other our pages at the end of the day and laughed over chicken pot pie. Meanwhile in Manhattan, I was tired of pretending that freezing outdoor dining, with buses barrelling past, was like sitting on the sidewalk at Les Deux Magots in Paris. With the California sun on my back at breakfast, and the orange trees in my garden, I have the calm I need to reflect on happy times with Harry.
The theft of Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs sent a chill through the serenely ensconced household. Just before Christmas, my daughter Izzy took possession of a three-month-old English bulldog, acquired from Linda’s Klassy Kennel in Oklahoma. I was dubious. Izzy is a documentary producer who travels a lot, I’ve always been a cat person, and a red-state bulldog would surely bark for Trump. But as a flow of snaps arrived of a splotchy pink-snouted puppy — a runty number four in the litter — I started to feel the excited stirrings of cross-species motherhood. Three days before Christmas we got the call. An RV van driven from Oklahoma would meet us in the car park outside an Anaheim 7-Eleven at 8 p.m. There, a bearded dude emerged and handed Izzy a small bundle.
What else could it have been but love at first sight? Gimli, as Izzy has called her (after the wise dwarf in Lord of the Rings) is a ‘bulldoglet’ from heaven. Her soft corrugated nose immediately burrowed into Izzy’s shoulder. Every day starts with what we call Storming the Capitol. Gimli’s crate door opens and she bursts out, furiously wagging her stump of a tail and hurling herself at my bed. We have decided that she was sent to us by my husband. She has so many of his characteristics: dogged (literally) tenacity; fearless when wrestling with dogs three times her size; and never more content than when chomping through a manuscript.
It’s amazing how differently the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are perceived in America. In Hollywood there’s been much consternation about how the timing of (ex-Prince) Harry’s larky bus trip stunt with James Corden once again dissed the Queen — not his grandma (for a change), but America’s Queen, Oprah Winfrey. ‘Who does that?’ went the text messages. Who gives an exclusive heart-to-heart to Oprah, then goes off before it’s aired and does a knockabout with Corden, when Her Media Majesty’s much-touted scoop is still in the can? No doubt it was supposed to be ‘just fun’, but Corden was sly enough to slip in news-making questions that rained on Oprah’s parade. Harry and Meghan, it’s very clear, want to be all-conquering celebrities. But there are rules of the game in Hollywood — just as there are at Buckingham Palace. The Oprah solecism apart, Harry aced the Corden show. He was self-deprecating, funny and hot. British hand-wringing about letting down the immutable dignity of the royal family is greeted here with snorts. Americans see the much-touted Windsor version of ‘public service’ as posh people being made to do boring things they hate every day, usually in bad weather. Harry’s version of it sounds way more fun. Netflix deals, podcasts, lolling barefoot in the garden of an 11-bedroom mansion, a Zoom here and there… What’s not to like? In Harry and Meghan’s real estate circles, Frogmore Cottage would be marketed as a tear-down.
The larger question they have to answer is whether Harry is a celebrity royal or a royal celebrity. He seems to have picked the latter. There’s less job security that way, but more money. But I suspect he still believes he’s the former — a royal prince somehow disaggregated from the duties of the Crown. And this makes things awkward. How can he then talk with a straight face to Oprah about ‘public service’, even as his grandmother, the real Queen, faces the loss of her husband, who for 70 years upheld his coronation oath to be her ‘liege man of life and limb’? Perhaps Harry is simply ahead of the curve. After all, in politics, disaggregation from any recognisable legislative platform is now a way of life for the Republican party. The annual CPAC conference in mask-free Orlando showed how policy, like public service, is a fusty old concept for doddering throwbacks like President Biden. Trump is now literally, as well as figuratively, the pouty blimp who hovers over the party. The tedious business of governing — another kind of public service — goes on without him. And for that we are thankful, all of us — our bulldog Gimli included.

Guide to Finding French Bulldogs for Sale and Stud Dogs in Australia and New Zealand
French Bulldogs have become one of the most popular dog breeds worldwide due to their playful personality, adaptability, and charming appearance. Their compact size and loving nature make them an ideal pet for families and individuals alike. Whether you're searching for French Bulldogs for sale, Frenchie puppies, or even a stud dog for sale in Australia, this guide will help you navigate the process and understand the key considerations when purchasing a French Bulldog.
Understanding the French Bulldog Breed
French Bulldogs, affectionately known as "Frenchies," are a small yet sturdy breed with a muscular build and a friendly disposition. Their distinctive bat-like ears, flat face, and expressive eyes make them easily recognizable. Known for their affectionate temperament, French Bulldogs thrive on companionship and are particularly well-suited to apartment living. However, they are also quite playful and energetic, requiring regular exercise and interaction to stay healthy and happy.
When searching for French Bulldogs for sale, it’s crucial to ensure that the breeder is reputable. A responsible breeder will prioritize the health and well-being of the puppies, conducting necessary health screenings and providing a supportive environment for the dogs.
French Bulldogs for Sale in Australia
For those looking for French Bulldogs in Australia, it’s essential to find a breeder who meets the highest standards of care. Many breeders in Australia focus on raising French Bulldogs with optimal health and temperament, which is crucial when you’re considering bringing one into your family. As you browse listings for "French Bulldogs for sale," be mindful of breeders who offer transparency about their breeding practices.
It’s recommended to visit the breeder in person or request detailed information about the puppy’s lineage, medical history, and living conditions. You might come across breeders who also specialize in offering a stud dog for sale in Australia. Stud dogs are valuable for breeders looking to introduce new bloodlines into their breeding programs. A stud dog with a strong pedigree can help enhance the health and quality of future litters.
Frenchie Puppies for Sale
Frenchie puppies are undeniably adorable with their wrinkled faces and energetic personalities. If you’re specifically looking for Frenchie puppies for sale, patience is key. These puppies are in high demand, and responsible breeders may have waiting lists due to their commitment to ensuring each puppy is well-cared for and placed in a loving home.
Frenchie puppies require special care in their early weeks of life. They are prone to certain health conditions such as respiratory issues due to their brachycephalic (flat-faced) structure. As you evaluate different breeders, ensure that they follow ethical breeding practices and are upfront about any potential health risks that may come with the breed.
Adding a Frenchie puppy to your family is an exciting decision, but it’s essential to prioritize the puppy’s health and well-being over convenience. A good breeder will support you throughout the puppy’s development and provide guidance on proper care and training.
Stud Dog for Sale in Australia
If you are involved in breeding and are searching for a stud dog for sale in Australia, it’s important to choose a dog with a proven pedigree. Stud dogs play a crucial role in breeding programs, and selecting the right one can significantly impact the health and temperament of future litters.
When purchasing a stud dog, make sure the dog’s medical history is available and that the breeder can provide proof of any health screenings. Stud dogs should meet specific breed standards and have a calm and stable temperament, which will be passed down to their offspring. It’s also common for breeders to offer their stud dog for sale only after he has completed several successful breedings, ensuring his genetic contributions are desirable.
Many breeders in Australia offer stud dogs for sale who are well-regarded for their lineage and physical traits. Be sure to check reviews or recommendations from other breeders who have worked with the stud dog to ensure a positive breeding experience.
French Bulldog Breeders in New Zealand
New Zealand is also home to several reputable French Bulldog breeders who are dedicated to raising healthy, well-adjusted puppies. When looking for French bulldog breeders new zealand, it’s important to choose breeders who are committed to ethical breeding practices. Responsible breeders will focus on producing puppies with good health, stable temperaments, and adherence to breed standards.
Before purchasing a French Bulldog from a New Zealand breeder, inquire about the puppy’s health history, including any genetic testing that has been performed on the parents. In New Zealand, breeders often place a strong emphasis on minimizing the risk of genetic health problems such as hip dysplasia and respiratory issues, which can be common in French Bulldogs.
Visiting the breeder in person, or at least conducting a video call, will give you a better understanding of how the puppies are raised. Make sure the puppies are raised in a clean, healthy environment and that they are well-socialized before they go to their new homes. This ensures that your French Bulldog will adapt more easily to life in your household.
Conclusion: Finding the Perfect French Bulldog
When searching for French Bulldogs for sale, Frenchie puppies for sale, or a stud dog for sale in Australia, it’s crucial to work with reputable breeders who prioritize the health and well-being of their dogs. Both in Australia and New Zealand, French Bulldog breeders who adhere to ethical breeding standards will offer you peace of mind and a joyful, healthy new companion. By taking the time to find a trustworthy breeder, you’ll ensure that your French Bulldog will thrive in its new home for many years to come.
Remember, when you invest in a French Bulldog, you’re not just buying a dog—you’re adding a loving member to your family. The care and attention you put into finding the right puppy or stud dog will pay off in the years of companionship and joy they will bring into your life.

don’t touch my stuff
find it here on ao3 !
Summary: Peter decides to take an old Iron Man suit out for a spin. Naturally, Tony finds out.
Words Count: 2.8k
“Mister Stark?” Peter calls, walking into––what seems to be––an empty workshop. He’s light on his feet, careful not to make too much noise while the older man recovers from a nasty cold that has riddled him useless. So far, he’s been out for three days and counting. A lousy three days.
Oddly enough, Peter’s been going out of his way just to contract the damn thing. His textbook immune system makes it impossible to miss a single day of school, and he’s tired. He just wants to sleep on the couch and eat nothing but toast while he watches Cartoon Network for several hours. Sure, he knows he could lie and pretend he has a sore tummy, but his unrelenting guilt would eat him up within the first hour. He would easily come clean before May could leave the house.
The workshop is a perfect reflection of how his mentor handles having an illness. A coffee stain the size of New York sits idle on his desk, and half-used boxes of tissues are littered across the room. DUM-E is currently in the process of cleaning up the discarded, crumpled-up tissues that have been there since the first wretched day.
One thing Peter wouldn’t have guessed about Tony is that he’s a complainer when he’s sick. Peter doesn’t understand why he––a sixteen-year-old with bigger problems like homework and acne––is left to take care of him. The man can’t go twenty minutes without groaning and moaning about his stuffed sinuses. Peter can’t stand it.
“Hello, Peter,” FRIDAY greets. “Boss is upstairs sleeping. Would you like me to alert him that you’ve arrived? I’ll be careful not to wake him too abruptly. We both know how he gets.”
Peter laughs and fidgets with a few stray tools on a nearby workbench. A lot of their old work has been left untouched since they last got together. Since they were both healthy and able to talk like normal people. Now, Tony’s been hopped up on NyQuil for three days straight.
“Um––nah, I’ll just hang out here for a while,” Peter says and smiles over at DUM-E. The robotic arm whirs back gleefully. “What’s his temp today, Fri?”
“99.8 degrees Fahrenheit,” she answers.
“Oh, good.” Peter crosses the room. “That just means he can finally get off his ass soon and help me for once.
“He’ll probably still be congested for about another week or two.”
Peter groans, head falling back as he trudges the floor. “I don’t think I can last another day,” he says. “Please don’t tell him I said this––it’s gonna sound really mean––but, God, he’s such a baby. I used to think I was bad when I got sick.”
“Believe me, Peter, no one can be as bad as him,” the AI affirms.
Peter settles down at Tony’s desk and shuffles through the stray papers on top. Letters, fan art, more letters, more fan art… Peter pouts. He wishes he could get fan art.
“He’d just tell me to suck it up, probably,” he mumbles, brain still on the topic of his mentor’s ailments. “I’d have t’suck it up and 'spidey up'––as he calls it, and then I’d pass out on the job, and he’d be all ‘Why are you on the floor? Why didn’t you just tell me you were sick, Peter?’ and ‘Why didn’t you stay home and have your lovely aunt make you a nice pot of soup?’ And then I’d be forced into saying that he told me so, when really, he didn’t. Like, at all.”
“Sounds like something he would do.”
Peter’s lips quirk into a small smile. He likes FRIDAY––he likes her sassy moments, and as much as he loves Karen, sometimes he needs that shift back down to earth. He also needs someone else that will poke fun at Tony when everyone else is afraid to.
“It is something he would do,” says Peter. “I twisted my ankle once, and he was like, ‘Well, that’s dumb, why would you do that?’—like I had a choice in the matter. Sometimes he just really—”
Before Peter can finish his thought, one of the monitors above Tony’s desk flashes. The word “Complete” blinks in bright green.
“Complete?” Peter sits forward. “What did I complete? Did I win something? I didn’t touch anything, did I?”
“You didn’t,” says FRIDAY. “The Mark Forty-Five has just received a new paint job.”
“Oh, cool.” Peter nods and, a beat later, states, “wait, but he doesn’t use that one anymore.”
“Boss likes to maintain a certain… look.”
Peter’s brows knot together as he thinks. Long and hard. And what he eventually thinks up turns out to be a terrible, terrible idea. A good terrible idea. “Interesting. Is—is that suit here?”
“Yes.”
“Do you think Mister Stark would notice if I took it out for a little spin?”
“I don’t even think the Boss can touch his toes," the AI replies. There’s hardly an inflection in her tone.
Peter hums. A familiar excitement bubbles in his chest. Sure, he’s thought about asking to wear the suit a million and one different times, but the idea of doing without Tony even knowing––Peter has never jumped out of his seat so fast. If Tony ever finds out, Peter is toast. But he won’t. Just a brief flight. Nothing could go wrong.
“You won’t tattle on me, right, Fri?” he asks.
“Of course not.”
“Knew I could count on you.” Peter smiles, but it falters as he stops in his tracks. “Wait––this is stupid. I’m stupid. Aren’t the suits coded to him?”
“Yes, but he has them coded to you, too.”
“What? Really?”
“He has them coded to all of his loved ones.”
Peter blinks. He blinks again. “S-say that again?”
“Boss has given his loved ones access to his suits in the case of immediate mortal danger,” she says. “That includes you.”
“Quit pullin’ my leg, Fri,” Peter half-chuckles, scratching the back of his head. “Just tell me I can’t use the suit.”
“I’m not pulling your leg.”
He rubs at his forehead and lets out a breath.
“Your body language suggests that you’re nervous.”
“Yeah, yeah, well––” Peter squints his eyes shut. “I mean, it’s Mister Stark. What if––what if he finds out? My head’ll be served for breakfast. A-and then he’ll take away Spider-Man, and Fri, I don’t know if I can––”
“Are you going to let fear dictate your life, Peter?”
His eyebrows raise at the question. Holy shit. He’s never heard FRIDAY speak so philosophically before. And she called him scared. He’s not scared––he’s just spending a little extra time making sure it’s the right decision, of course.
“No,” he mumbles, biting as his lip. “I don’t wanna do that.” Around him, provocative prototypes and unfinished creations await his final verdict. The bare bones of a gauntlet scream his name on a table to his right. Peter nods. “Okay. Okay. I’m doing it. Fri––oh shit, I’ve always wanted to say this––all right, let’s take this outside.”
Tony is in the middle of dreaming about fighting an army of robot dogs when FRIDAY’s voice intervenes. He awakes in a daze, torso slumped to the floor while his bottom half remains comfortably on the couch. There’s a tissue stuck to his hand, another flat on his t-shirt, and the pressure in his sinuses goes right back up to his head once he sits up.
“Oh, Jesus,” he groans out, clutching his forehead as he leans over his knees. “Wh-what is it? I was just fighting robotic French Bulldogs––and losing.”
“Peter Parker has asked me not to tell you that he’s taken the Mark Forty-Five out for a flight,” the AI replies.
Tony winces. Mark XLV. Gosh, he hasn’t used that one since Sokovia. It did a helluva fine job, but the memory makes him shudder. He’s successfully not thought about that battle since at least last week, and while it’s not as fresh as some of the others, the reminder still leaves a sour taste in his mouth. Mister Parker doesn’t even know the half of what––wait a minute.
“Hold up. Say that again.”
“I’ve been told not to tell you that Peter Parker is out in the Mark Forty-Five suit.”
Tony sits up, and his sinuses flare once again. He doesn’t even react. “M-my Peter? Peter Parker?”
“Yes, boss.”
It takes a few seconds for Tony to stand, meanwhile, he clutches the sides of the couch to keep from passing out. He’s not sure if it’s possible, but he thinks he might have an iron deficiency. And, somehow, Peter Parker has everything to do with it. The stacks of homework, the near-death situations, the constant stress he’s put the poor billionaire under… there’s no question about it.
“And he asked you not to tell me?”
“Yes, boss.”
Tony lets out a breath. “Not sure where exactly your loyalty lies, but I’ll take it. What’s he––why is he––? Oh, I’m gonna kill him. Run me the live audio. Where is he?”
FRIDAY doesn’t answer. Instead, the Mark XVL’s live feed is fed through her operating system. The living space of the compound fills with static, wind, and the familiar, all-too-cheery, soon-to-be-dead-as-a-doornail voice of Peter Parker.
“All righty then, Fri––”
Tony furrows his eyebrows. That’s his nickname for FRIDAY. Son of a bitch.
“––let’s see what this baby can do––oh, shit!”
As the harsh sound of rattling, crackling, and somehow, buzzing, echo throughout the room, Tony rolls his eyes. He’s never been given the chance to forget how young the kid is.
“Okay, okay, I didn’t like that,” Peter says. “Let’s not do that again. Jesus, how does Mister Stark not get motion sick?”
“Cut the feed,” Tony urges. He isn’t sure how to handle his anger. He keeps it contained in his chest while his fingers claw at the couch cushions below him. The rest of his anger resides in his jaw. “I’m gonna kill him. I’m literally gonna kill him. Get me a suit.”
“Boss, your temperature has climbed to––”
“I don’t care,” he says. “Don’t fuckin’ care. I need a suit. I need t’keep my kid from killing himself before I kill him.”
“Incoming call from Tony Stark.”
“W-what?” Peter sputters. “No, no! Fri, don’t answer.”
“Declining call from Tony Stark.”
“Holy shit, thank you.”
Peter has learned three things since he left the compound as Iron Man nearly ten minutes ago. One, he’s not great with changes in altitude. Like, at all. Two, the suit is massively uncomfortable. He’s not sure how Tony can manage more than a half-hour without feeling claustrophobic. And three, Peter has never felt so cool in his entire life.
Ever since he can remember, he’s looked up to Iron Man. The hero has always been untouchable––almost unreal––prior to Germany back in ‘16. Granted, Peter has been a kid for that entire time, and kids think everything that breathes is awesome and larger than life. But with Iron Man, it’s been different. Iron Man has been an emotional crutch, something he could always trust. And now, he’s in the suit.
Peter can’t wait to tell Ned.
But––why did Tony call him?
“I think we’ve had enough fun for today,” Peter says, chuckling nervously as he figures out how to stop flying.
“Setting a course back to the compound,” FRIDAY states. “Do you want me to alert Tony that you’re on your way back?”
“What? No!” Peter’s heart jumps while he takes off soaring in the opposite direction. He’s tired, and he’s flown into too many trees. And he thinks he might have knocked a bird out of its nest earlier in the flight. “Shit, wait––does that mean he knows? Is that why he called me?”
“Your personal phone is not connected to the Mark Forty-Five’s heads-up display,” she replies.
“Oh,” Peter whispers. After that, he finally registers what she meant. “Oh. Oh no. Th-that means he called himself. He called the suit. I’m dead. I’m dead meat.”
“Incoming call from––”
“Don’t answer.”
“Override.”
“Parker.” It’s Tony.
Peter flinches, eyes screwing shut as he holds in a breath. “Hey, Mister Stark.” He exhales shakily.
“Hey, Mister Stark, yeah, okay––” Tony chuckles, but it’s not genuine. Not in the slightest. Even the soundwaves in the HUD look menacing. “Where have you been?”
“I’m out,” Peter answers, "on a stroll.”
“Uh-huh, sure.”
He’s dead. He’s literally dead. He doesn’t know how he can lie his way through this, but hell, he’s going to try. “Honest. I’ll be back soon. I promise.”
Tony laughs again. It’s frighteningly evil. And congested. “Kid, if you’re somehow not dead by the time you get back, I may just kill you myself.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“Oh, just watch me.”
Peter’s skin crawls at the sound of Tony’s voice. He’s dead. “Mister Stark, I’m––”
“Get your ass back here,” Tony says. “Now. We’ll talk then. FRIDAY, take him home. Turn off manual control.”
“Yes, boss.”
Before Peter can interject, the call cuts off and the heads-up display returns back to normal. His eyes well up, and his throat clenches as he tries to breathe through––what feels like––a straw. Under his breath, he mutters, “traitor,” but FRIDAY doesn’t answer.
Peter’s landing is rough, and it’s almost comical for Tony to watch. But nothing is funny to him, not right now. It was one thing when Rhodey took the suit some-odd years ago––it was Rhodey, a full-grown adult––yet Tony’s stomach twists at the sight of Peter under that faceplate. There’s anger, and then there’s something that many people know as heartbreak. Tony just doesn’t want to admit he is possible of feeling that type of thing. Peter has broken his heart more times than he can count.
“Mister Stark, I’m so––” Peter tries, eyes wide as the suit peels away from around him. He’s startled by the action.
“Nah, I don’t think you get the chance to speak first,” Tony says. He adorns a suit himself––spanking new nanotech that, surprisingly, feels comfortable. Like a second skin. “Did you even think about your actions, or did you just assume that it was a good idea?”
Peter shakes his head a few times. “No, no. I-I did think. I––”
“Yeah, clearly, you didn’t!” Tony waves his arms, and they drop back down to his sides. “Newsflash, kid. That suit costs more than yours tripled. If you had even scratched a finger––”
“I would’ve fixed it, Mister Stark,” Peter replies without a beat. “I would have repaired it myself. You taught me how. I wouldn’t have––”
“How did you expect me to react to this?”
Peter’s shoulders slump. “I didn’t think you’d find out,” he mutters.
Tony wants to laugh again. So this is what being a parent feels like. May deserves more credit than he’s given her. “If you think you’re such an ‘Iron Man’ expert, then you should’ve just made your own damn suit.”
Peter’s gaze drops. He accepts blow after blow without question.
But Tony, well, he just gave himself an idea.
“Why didn’t you just tell me you wanted your own suit, kiddo?” he asks, feeling his anger slowly diminish by the second. And meanwhile, ideas of a possible “Iron Spider” fill his head.
“I-I––” Peter hugs his arms. “I dunno.”
Tony ponders. His excitement to tinker suddenly outweighs any irritation he once had. Of course, he’s still mad, but seeing the kid look so discouraged and defeated makes Tony’s heart do something weird. Maybe he does see the kid as his kid.
“All right, well,” he begins, lips twisting while he nods toward the compound, “get inside. Maybe we’ll brainstorm while we talk about how grounded you’re gonna be for the next ten years.”
Relief floods over Peter, and he chuckles. Together, they make their way back inside. The Mark XLV follows.
“Why are you in a suit?” Peter asks after a few seconds.
“Oh, yeah, forgot about that,” Tony mumbles, tapping at the unit on his chest before the nanites trickle back into it. He sniffs, and suddenly he can feel the ache of his sinuses once again. “Yeah, well, I didn’t know if I was gonna have to chase after you or scrape you out of some crater you created because you fell five-hundred feet.”
“I actually think I did pretty okay.”
“Kid,” Tony says, laughing, “I saw you fly in. You definitely almost killed someone.”
Peter huffs and folds his arms. “Well, Fri said I was doing great for a first-timer.”
“Fri––since you insist on calling her that now––is a liar,” Tony replies. “And she definitely likes you too much. I think you’ve become her favorite.”
When he looks over, Peter is smiling.
“What?” asks Tony.
“Nothing.” Peter shrugs. “Just that you made her, and somehow, I managed to become her favorite. S’all.”
“Shut up.” Tony elbows the kid, and it pushes him back a few feet.
“Hey!”
“That’s what you get,” Tony mocks. “Next time, don’t touch my stuff.”

Why i am currently writing from my bathtub, vibing on a sleeping bag
aight, so if yall didn’t know, I have 4 dogs.
We got Bailee (5, english bulldog, f), first. My mom wanted a purebred bulldog (not my choice, don’t yell at me about it), the breeder seemed like a nice guy, everything fell into place. He gave us a discount if we let him use her to have 2 litters of puppies, and we would keep half of those profits. If you did not know, these dogs sell for $2,000 if they are super cheap (Bailee was, and even cheaper with the discount, we still love her). We were like “?? aight den?? sounds lucrative??” So we had Bailee, had a total of four litters of puppies with her (we kept one of the babies, but the neighbors left out poison and she died of acute liver failure about nine months ago, RIP Ripley Q~Q), she is now fixed. She is pure of heart, dumb of ass.
Then the breeder (who we still thought was great), coerced my mom (a softie for bulldogs, if you hadn’t guessed) into buying Maze (short for Mazikeen), a purebred French bulldog, under the same stipulations as the first contract. Maze’s puppies were more popular, and sold for more money, until her last litter, which we could not sell at all because the breeder turned tail and ran after a messy divorce with his wife which left us... very confused and very peeved because we had 4 french bulldog puppies and nowhere to put them. We managed to sell two of them, and then we kept Buddy, and my brother (who was living in Santa Cruz for college) kept Lucy (short for Lucifer).
Then Quarantine happened, schools shut down, my brother moved back home with Lucy, and now we have 4 dogs... plus, we had my cat, Sam (short for Sammersamsamsammersam).
Sam was a peculiar cat-- he showed genuine, human empathy on several occasions, he would pee on my bed if I didn’t let him outside in the mornings to go potty out there, and he loved dogs and babies of literally any species. We called him “Uncle Sam” because when the momma dogs got tired of watching their babies, either in the little nursery boxes we set up or playing outside when they were older, Sam would sit nearby and babysit the puppies, who of course loved him to death. They would crawl on him, play with him, bite his ears and tail, and he just never minded. He was the same way with human toddlers: they could just pick him up however, pull on his tail, do that harsh toddler-”pet” motion, and he just purred and nuzzled and cuddled.
But you really couldn’t keep Sam inside. Like, at all. And he was a huge (I mean, large, like the size of your average 2yo in length) and smart and tough, so he was fine for three years. And then he just didn’t come home one day. I think one of the neighbors stole him (yeah, some of our neighbors are assholes. you should hear some of the responses I got when I was putting out lost flyers). I last saw Sam on Valentine’s Day of this year.
But I love cats, and genuinely am not the biggest fan of dogs (I don’t hate them, I just prefer cats), so no matter how much I miss Sam, he ain’t coming back, and I kind of need a cat in my life.
So I decided to foster! (and that was a whole mess, if you want that story I will tell it)
So now, here I am, writing in my bathtub because I have a momma and two baby kittens that we are isolating from our dogs in the bathroom while they adjust, just vibing on a sleeping bag until momma cat trusts me enough to come out and say hi.

i would also be interested in how he compares with others breeds in your opnion
Hello again!
I will start out by admitting that I am extremely biased. Our family’s first dog was a standard poodle (you can find her under the Elsa the Standard tag on this blog). By the time I realized that I needed a service dog, I’d already had a poodle for 11 years.
When doing research for what kind of dog I might want, I settled on a poodle fairly quickly. Partly because I had experience working with one, knew breed quirks, and things to look out for health wise. The other big thing that went in favor of getting a poodle is that I am, much to my dismay, allergic to dogs, but since poodles are hypoallergenic they don’t bother me. The allergy issue was why we got a poodle the first time around too.
The other thing that really weighed in favor of a poodle is their intelligence. I needed a dog who was going to be able to problem solve when I might not be able to, who would be excited and stimulated by the learning that I needed him to do.
So, I’d chosen poodle, and now the question was size. Since I don’t need a larger dog to help me with mobility related tasks, I decided to go with a miniature. He takes up much less space in class, when I travel, or if I got out somewhere like a restaurant. I hope this makes it easier for those folks out there who do actually need larger dogs, because I can fit in a non handicapped toilet stall while they might not be able to.
All breeds have pros and cons, but the only ones i would really try to stay away from are the ones bred for looks, not functionality. Pugs, Bulldogs, either English or French, anything that will struggle with joint problems like GSD or has a high probability of cancer like Boxers.
Last, a puppy is not just a puppy and a breeder is not just a breeder. The breeder I got Llywelyn from had both parents genetically tested for everything under the sun, with no positive results or red flags. We were allowed into her home (very nice and clean) and met both Paige and Dante, Llywelyn’s parents. She had a plan for when Paige started labor, and the puppies would be seen by a vet within 24 hours.
We were shown pedigrees going back at least four generations to prove that there had been no recent inbreeding. After putting my deposit down I had to sign something saying that I would take Llywelyn to the vet within 24 hours of him getting home. He’d already had some vaccines, but the breeder was adamant that he should finish the course.
A puppy from a mill wouldn’t have had that depth of care, the attention to correct socialization, healthcare, etc.
I think that the time and love and care that Maria (the breeder) puts into each litter is what made me feel safe enough to take that first step into a wild unknown. This is her website, take a look and use it as a good reference point for when you may want to buy a dog in the future. Once again, don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re looking got a service animal of your own.

If looking for French bulldog breeders, it is substantial to search for specific standards. The very first thing to believe in for a Blue bulldog in New Zealand is their reproduction process, how they are been used. Inquire regarding the procedure of breeding as well as whether it is a natural mating procedure or insemination. Additionally inquire about the birth delivery and also whether it is allowed to give birth normally or is a caesarean finished. The breeding as well as birth procedure of bulldogs is relatively challenging as well as tough. For that reason, it is important to ask the unrealized bulldog dog breeders their pointers on the reproducing process.
An additional major consideration is the number of trashes a women bulldog has actually had. Few bulldog breeders breed their pets on a regular basis and also these techniques are called puppy mills. Pup mills lean to generate lower quality young puppies due to the fact that not a great deal treatment as well as time is taken in choosing a sire or allowing the female to recoup from the previous litter. This can be harmful to bulldog pups due to the fact that it can also further make the health and wellness problems worse if they are currently laying face down to.

This will certainly call for bulldog dog breeders to suit the young puppy into their major family circle as well as allow the pup to be around other pet dogs and humans. For that reason, it is recommended that French bulldog breeders New Zealand who place their puppies in kennels need to likewise devote to work out properly.
All bulldog pups need to be signed up appropriately. When looking in for bulldog breeders, make inquiries the prospective breeder regarding the registration treatment and also papers that is equally essential along with the young puppy. If the puppy does not included appropriate enrollment as well as fitness documents, the dog breeder most likely is not fit in the breeding procedure to create excellent quality and also healthy bulldogs. These dog breeders must be prevented without a doubt.
Tumblr media
Reputable bulldog dog breeders will additionally supply French Bulldogs available which has actually been dealt with by a vet. Their injection as well as inoculations ought to be started and supplied approximately day. This criterion needs to be followed when questioning with potential bulldog dog breeders. It is excellent to construct out what other clients are finishing with. As a canine purchaser one of the most vital steps is to be well understanding, prep work and also be much more recognition of the market than earlier. This help to assure a person is getting a top quality and healthy bulldog puppy.
