Castlevania, Lenore and a fun bit of history
So, given that I am currently kinda planning a series on the Styria sisters, I went a bit (much) into research mode, for each of them. Which leads me to one thing: I think Lenore is Scottish and I am gonna tell you why.
Tumblr media
So, we know three things about Lenore's background. Both from the same conversation with Hector.
She grew up in a castle.
English soldiers came climbing up the toilet chutes when she was 5.
That happened 200 years ago.
Point 1 can be basically ignored, because if you live in Europe you know that castles are a sort of universal feature.
It is point 3 that is the most interesting for now.
Now, 200 years ago from 1476 - so 1276 - the English were involved in no war. I know. It is hard to believe, if you know English history. But yeah, no English war in 1276... but in 1277 they started up a war again. That one was against Wales. Or rather the English started to conquer Wales from 1277 until 1283.
From whom where they conquering it? Not the Welshmen, I am afraid, but the Norse, who were still holding parts of Wales at the time... Which is why I am rather sure she is not from here. Because her saying that she grew up in a castle seems to imply she was nobility - and... Lenore is not a Norse name, which someone from Norse nobility would have. While nowadays the name is in use in Scandinavian countries as Eleonoora, Ella, Elli, Nelli, Noora, it was not back then.
So, what were the next wars? Well, not surprisingly - again, if you know English history - they did squarel with the French between 1294 and 1303 and then there was the first Scottish war of independence between 1296 and 1328.
Now, the name Eléonore has been around back then in France, so it is absolutely possible that they anglicized the name.
But here is, where point 2 comes in: She was 5 when English soldiers climbed up the toilet chutes. Now, I am not entirely certain, but from all I know, the English did not take castles in Flanders (where the Anglo-French conflict took place). But they took definitely castles in Scotland and they did so early in the conflict.
So... I think Lenore is Scottish and probably from the South of Scotland. Additionally to the historical stuff of course often in fiction red hair is used to imply a character is Scottish or Irish.
Making it probable that her castle was taken in 1296 or 1297, making her born in 1291 or 1292 - and not quite 200 years old at the point Castlevania takes place.
To keep up with the Scottish independence theme I hence headcanoned for her, I made her older in my AU to have her Scottish nobility during the Jacobite uprisings. :P

Well my dream of Aiku was a more stay at home thing, I remember seeing him laying on our bed while I laid down next too him and we were just looking at each other, I think we were talking about something but I can’t remember, then the next think I knew was that we were in the couch of the living room watching movies and cuddling on the couch and then I woke up, its a miracle how I remember these things🤣. I don’t really get long dreams. Usually every time I fall asleep its just darkness then a dream appears all of a sudden. So yeah thats it🫶🏻. I wanna know what ur dreams of Aiku are is it okay for you to share?☺️ and ur right, when I saw that pic on twt it actually made my day, seeing him is just a very big comfort for me, I’ve never been this hard to obsess with a character before. I have really gotten it bad with Oliver🥹💗
-💙
Omg these dreams are so cute - it’s giving me skam vibes (of William and Noora- skam is this Norwegian show abt teens and how they live their lives; there’s even the French version of it but the Norwegian one is the og one) my dreams of aiku… I wanna tell them to you but I’d be giving away spoilers for my series… but here’s one - we were sitting on the floor sprawled out and just laughing. He has Swedish accented English- and he was talking about going whale watching cause I really love whales and dolphins- and Sweden has whale watching…
Belle : “Do you think we’re gonna see Narwhals?”
Oliver : “Sure.”
Belle : “How many do you think there’ll be?”
Oliver : “A whole herd.”
Belle : “You mean school.”
Oliver : “Same thing.”
Belle : “Sure. Unicorn whales… it’ll be my first time seeing one.”
Oliver : “you’re lucky to have me there for that, doorbell. Just don’t touch or pet them. Don’t wanna see you fall into ice water.”
Belle : “if I do you’ll be there won’t you?”
Oliver : “nope. You go down down under.”
Belle : “You’re lucky I love you.”
Oliver : “Jeg elsker deg too.”
I dunno this one was really vivid in my mind cause maybe it was from last night or something. I rarely remember dreams- the others are gonna be there in the series that I made
I have it bad for him too (/ω\) *set wallpapers to him and obsessed over what his voice would sound like*

Cate Blanchett & Zar Amir-Ebrahimi Discuss Sundance Pic ‘Shayda’ & Its Iranian Perspective: “It’s Important To Let Women Talk About Themselves And Make Movies About Their Own Female Journey”
A couple of weeks after Zar Amir-Ebrahimi gained the Best Actress Award in Cannes for her efficiency as journalist Arezoo Rahimi in crime thriller Holy Spider, the Iranian-French actor flew to Melbourne, Australia, to participate in what was set to be one other pressing story from an Iranian filmmaker: Noora Niasari’s debut characteristic Shayda.  The movie, which is described as a “love letter…

SKAM's noora and william confrontation scene in all remakes according to my opinion:
Skam France: the confrontation scene was extremely similar to the original one, just like the rest of the series which made my hype for skam france die (it got boring tbh)
Skam Italia: A 10/10 SCENE. Skam italia is one of my favorite remakes so far and this scene is honestly so great
Druck: as much as i loved druck (still do) this scene was meh,,,
Skam Austin: tbh skam austin is one of the best remakes so far (we really getting that wlw content oof) but the acting for this scene was a bit stiff and cringey for me idk
Skam Spain: ???? Where??? Is??? The???? Confrontation???? Scene????
Skam NL: this scene wasn't as dynamic as in the other remakes, it was short but really cute and i already love their chemistry
