like obviously because the series centers around young people, parents are either going to be completely irrelevant or a second thought but it’s important to note that several characters DO have parents and it’s more important that we look at what the characters lack. a significant portion have been ostracized in some way, kohaku willingly acts out because of how it pertains to her sisters role in the village and her illness, chrome literally lives outside of the village bc of his eclectic “sorcery,” kaseki is one of the older folks as is respected as one of the main craftspeople but as far as the audience knows he doesn’t have any direct family, suika feels that her poor eyesight makes her useless to the village and displays an immense sense of self sufficiency that’s odd for a child as young as her. as for the modern people, tsukasa explicitly isolates himself due to trauma and prioritizing his sister, nikki feels misunderstood by her peers and finds solace in music, taiju’s parents are deceased pre-petrification and has senku as his closest friend, who himself was adopted by his bio father’s friend. in so many ways, these kids founded a new sense of belonging amongst each other.

Fidaa (@fidaa-family2, @fidaa-family): Fidaa is 29 years old and has 2 children: Sila (2) and Muhammad Amr (2 months old), whom she gave birth to during the current war. Marah is a uni pharmacy student who dreams of becoming a pharmacist but is unable to finish her studies due to the war. Their baby daughter’s health is deteriorating due to the lack of proper care and nutritions. They are trying to evacuate out of Gaza. His father suffers from arthritis and joint inflammation, and has a swollen leg and a partially paralyzed hand due to shrapnel caused injuries. He needs urgent medical care. She is trying to evacuate herself and 9 family members: his parents, five sisters and two brothers. Their house has been destroyed and they have been displaced. Below are two Palestinian fundraisers my friend from my uni’s Palestine solidarity encampment asked me to share. Both are Gazan students and writers seeking evacuation funds.

Eman Alhaj Ali: Eman is a 22-year-old English literature and translation student. She is a writer and has published her writing in different news outlets like Al Jazeera. She has 4 young siblings: Doaa (6), Abduallah (8), Yousef (11), and Ahmad (12). Eman seeks to evacuate herself and her family and to complete her education abroad. He is raising funds to 1) treat his brother who is injured and suffering from amenia, 2) evacuate out of Gaza, and 3) continue his dream of studying abroad. I don't like how the birthdays from stardew valley are set up in the real world. Like most of December is in the fall according to the solstice but Sebastian's birthday is winter 10 and we've decided it's December 10th.

Nah, let's give all the characters accurate birthdays in accordance with the seasons.

I'll set it up 2 ways:

1. Taking the earliest dates of each solstice and equinox that defines the seasons and dividing that by 28 (number of days in a stardew valley season) then multiplied that number by the NPC's bday (I'll explain the math later)

2. Taking the average amount of days in-between each IRL season and dividing that by 28

Earliest dates are as follows:

Spring March 19

Summer June 20

Autumn September 21

Winter December 20

The length of each season in this method is

91 days for spring

93 days for summer

90 days for fall

90 days for winter

The average days in between is 91.5 days.

Dividing by 28 we get

3.25 Spring

3.32142857 Summer

3.2142857 Autumn / Winter

3.267857142857143 Average

These numbers are the difference between our real world dates and stardew valley dates

Our season are about 90 days long, their's are 28 days so

1 day for stardew players is about 3 days for us.

Now that we have these numbers let's find out how each day correlates to each villager.

Whew. I’ve been working my tail off when it comes to fitness/wellness, and I am really starting to feel it. My body feels different — more energy, stable moods (relatively speaking of course! ha), and I have more optimism and confidence. My clothes are fitting better.. in fact, I’m easily fitting into stuff I haven’t worn in YEARS and years. It’s hard to get into new fitness and health routines and it’s especially tough to stick with them early on, before you start seeing that significant progress. Now when it’s really starting to “pay off”, it makes it easier to stick with it also.

Some random stats just to look back on for myself..

Since full term with Derrick (Aug ‘23): -59 lbs

Since pre-pregnancy weight: -29 lbs

I’m at the lowest weight I’ve been in 10 years. With another 15-20 pounds, I’ll be back to the weight I was when I got married in 2012. Holy shit!

I now realize I’m 1 pound away from what some would consider more significant milestones 😂 so maybe I’m a bit early with all of this but whatever! I’m feeling good and so here we are. I’m excited to see how I’m feeling (and looking, let’s be honest) come the holidays!

ohhh yeah no my art style has changed a lot through the years! its funny because it used to be a lineless style for awhile! then it fluctuated to lineart, now its back to mostly the lineless!

I think my art really came into its own in 2019 when I played Smile for Me and discovered @/yugsly art style and fell in love. their my biggest inspiration, I admire all their work and take a heavy inspiration from them for sure

After an astonishing New York run this Fall, SAW The Musical The Unauthorized Parody of Saw has extended its run Off-Broadway at AMT Theatre (345 West 45th Street) through Jun 23, 2024. It will also kick off a national tour in LA with a six-week run beginning Feb 29 at the Hudson Theatres Mainstage (6539 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038 in Hollywood) SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody began performances Off-Broadway on Sept 16, 2023, with its New York Opening Night on Sunday, Oct 1, 2023, and was called "Hilariously Absurd" by NPR. The run is extended through Jun 23, 2024, in Midtown's Theater District.

What's this blog for?

I try to keep it as story-relevant as possible.* This means that I won't reblog AU art, most character portraits with no further context, and similar things. Some of it may be a bit of a gray zone. For example: character portraits that feature a specific character who only appears in one or two entries, I will probably reblog for that entry. Character portraits of, let's say, Jonathan I won't reblog bc that's too unspecific, UNLESS there is something linking it - again - to a specific part of the book that's easy to pinpoint, like the very first days of his journey. *Note: "story-relevant" doesn't mean "100% text-accurate". This blog will be spoiler-free for the 2024 season! Any art from the previous years that concerns a later date will only be posted when that date comes around. I'm not opposed to reblogging them, too! They only need to be made specific enough so they can be attached to a specific entry. But since they're not my first priority when scanning the tags for pictures (my brain skips anything that's not a drawing almost on autopilot), I've likely missed them all. You're welcome to send something in that you think fits here!
