My name is Abedmajed, and I live in Gaza with what remains of my once large and loving family.

In a single missile strike, we lost over 25 members of our family. They were not just names. They were mothers, daughters, sons, grandparents — people we shared meals with, laughed with, and built dreams with.

The missile hit our family home — the heart of everything we knew.

I am not Palestinian, I am Indigenous American.

One hundred and forty six years ago my people were forced to move to Oklahoma, this event was known as the Ponca Trail of Tears. The land my people were forcibly moved to didn't have any proper shelter or food, so my people both froze and starved to the point we are a fraction of what we once were.

The government and schools don't talk about what America has done to my people, I only know because of my great-grandfather and his sister.

The American Government tried to take our identity away, our language is dying out. All because my people weren't living the same lifestyle the land stealers were living.

I stand with Palestine because I see Israel doing what America did to my people and the many Indigenous tribes. I know what it is like to have your identity and culture oppressed and to be dehumanized, and I refuse to let history repeat itself. I will continue to stand with Palestine even when I no longer walk the Earth.

In the Heart of Suffering: My Family in Gaza.

My family, consisting of 12 people, including 6 children, is living in torn tents that offer no protection against the harsh winter or heavy rain. Water seeps into the tents from all directions, and the cold bites at the children’s fragile bodies as they bathe in freezing water not by choice, but because there is no alternative.

When one of them falls ill, they suffer silently because medicine is unavailable. Even basic winter clothing is beyond reach they left everything behind when they fled from northern Gaza to escape relentless bombing. Every day, they carry water in buckets and struggle to find food amidst skyrocketing prices, while constant shelling, hunger, and fear surround them on all sides.

Help my family survive this hell. Donate if you can, or share their story so it reaches someone who can help. And if you can’t, keep them in your prayers and thoughts. Your words and actions might be the light that brightens their darkest days.

They were detained by the IOF but they were subsequently released. They currently have no tent to live in and have to endure the cold harsh winter in Gaza. Imagine having to sleep in the streets during extremely cold weather, with no tent to live in, and you see your own baby numbingly cold with no winter clothes or milk to drink.

These people have to go through some of the most inhumane, soul shattering and painful things that should not be allowed to even happen in the first place. I left Gaza for Italy due to an invitation to participate in the World Championship and represent Palestine. I was skating as a professional amateur. The World Championship organization contacted me to participate. I was supposed to get one of the winning positions, but I did not participate because of the war because my mind is scattered and I am always in a state of chaos and worried for the sake of my family and my family.
