I received an unexpected package from the lovely brand @legendaryfoods to me when I was still in Ashburn VA, and hadn't had a chance to share! What a sweet surprise to get this. These were SO TASTYYYYY, I've already eaten the entire box. This is there new Hot Fudge Sundae flavor, and ITS SO GOOD😋. I love this brand because their ingredients have integrity and I can trust them not to knock me out of the metabolic state of ketosis. Not only that they use allulose as the sweetener, which is derived from a plant, instead of using "sugar alcohols" which can cause a bit of gastric distress. It's nice to be sent products in appreciation of my appreciation for high integrity food! This way of living (a low carb/ketogenic lifestyle), is out of the ordinary, it IS almost like having the secrets to life... Not being controlled by hypoglycemia (sugar crashing) and thinking about food all the time (food/sugar addiction) has allowed my daily focus and energy to be spent elswhere. Living my entire life, fueling the wrong way, and dealing with these sluggish effects of a carb + gluten-full diet was so tough. I feel grateful and blessed to be mastering this eating/fueling style, or as the ketofam calls it, "biohacking" my metabolic system. Fueling on ketones is out of this world. Let me just put it out there right now, I’m not gluten free because I want to be different or difficult, I am because I have celiac disease and learning that gave me a whole new lease on life. Since my diagnosis and making a 100% effort to remain gluten free, I have energy again and no more brain fog and also no more unexplainable aliments. I did get glutened a couple of times and all of my symptoms came back... especially the unmentionable ones but I’m great now only eating at home. Sorry I’m still pretty quiet, folks! I’ve had some weird health issues since Christmas which I think I’ve boiled down to food intolerances. It’s caused severe nerve pain, migraines, chronic fatigue, anxiety, dry eyes and a host of other rotten stuff, but I’m hopefully on the road to recovery now having cut out all grain, dairy, soy, sugar, alcohol and caffeine (phew!) I’ve been basically living on sweet potatoes and avocados and, sadly, I’ve had to start eating meat again until my stomach heals a bit, as there’s so little I can eat atm. What a nightmare. 🙁 However, I’ve been making the odd YouTube video here and there, as it’s all I’ve been able to manage recently - so go take a look at my channel (Clay Disarray) and remember to subscribe! So not only did I purchase food that apparently had gluten in it (not listed in the ingredients, probably manufactured in shared equipment), I made that for breakfast subsequently glutening myself horribly. To the point of lying in bed with a trash can nearby because I was gonna lose it. It had been a while since I was glutened, but generally I try to sleep it off. Today was no different. I slept for 3 or so hours. Which meant that I missed the only plans we had for today, attending a friend's art show. Thanks, gluten.
