Daily instrument — Güiro
The güiro is a percussion instrument played in Latin music. The güiro comes in many shapes such as a frog, cricket, crocodile, cat, shaker, rattle, rasp etc. But all güiro are an instrument made out of naturalistic materials, with a serrated surface that produces sound when scraped with a stick. The güiro originates from either Africa or South America, slaves from Africa brought the instrument to the Caribbean. From there the güiro became extremely popular in Latin American music.

How Meny people work in this lab?
[insert "love is love" meme using images around the love lab, but everyone but the Chipmunk guy's face are censored. Chipmunk guy is the guy giving the thumbs up in the last panel. One of the panels shows a terrarium with a pair of Güiro Lizards in it.]

Day 2 + 3 of Hispanic Heritage Month!
Candy’s mother & father. Maritza & Osvaldo.
I’ve been struggling for years to get their design just right & I think I’m finally happy with it!
Candy was born in San Juan Puerto Rico & both of her parents are Puerto Rican.
The object Maritza is holding is a musical instrument called a Güiro which is a dried hollowed out gourd with notches on it that you play by dragging a scraper or “pua” across the notches.

Mii Lore: Matt
Matt is from North America. He is one of the three miis to have a voice in Wii Sports, and is consistently left handed.
Everyone knows that Matt is the super talented boxer and swordsman. Being the only CPU to be the champion of multiple sports, as well as the only one to be a champion in both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. In Wii Sports, his boxing skill level is 1500 to 1649. In Wii Sports Resort his Swordplay skill level is 1496 to 1500. Matt is also quite talented at basketball and table tennis in Wii Sports Resort, with a basketball skill level of 446 to 450 and a table tennis skill level of 776 to 780. In Wii Party Matt is a master difficulty NPC. Hell, the guy even plays the güiro in Wii Music. Is there no limit to his talents? well…
Matt fucking sucks at Tennis and Baseball in Wii Sports; he’s the sixth worst tennis player and fifth worst baseball player. He’s not so great at cycling in Wii Sports Resort, placing 74th out of 98.
Matt isn’t to be confused with Matt (Wii Sports Club) who is terrible at boxing but the best at tennis and baseball.
Matt’s best friend is Lucía (rip Lucía) and they have the best best friend relationship in Wii Sports Resort.
