Have some newlyweds Gabriel and Marie, the day after their wedding.

Gabriel woke up to a dark cottage. It was too early for the sun to rise yet, so the moon cast her soft glow into the room still. His eyes slowly open and blink into awareness. The knight was used to waking up early, no matter if he had a job or mission that day. However, when his eyes focused on the figure beside him, this wasn't his routine that woke him.

Beside him, was his best friend of nearly twenty years. Now his wife of one day, out of many more. Gabriel's heart fluttered at the sight of Marie in the moonlight. She looked so peaceful and beautiful. His arms tighten around her and he buries his face in her hair. Marie stirred, but only enough to cuddle closer, and sigh his name gently in her sleep.

Gabriel had dreamed of this since he was a little boy, stuck in the Brotherhood of Light's orphanage. He had prayed and begged God for a family. A large one. One that pushed the seams of the cottages in the village. Most adults were unsettled by Gabriel when he was a child, so he was in the orphanage until adulthood. It was strange, watching many of his brothers and sisters be adopted, and watching many more come in through those doors, but always wondering why no one wanted him.

He didn't mind it now. After all, it led to him finding the love of his life, and the mother of their future children. Gabriel sighs softly. The wedding was still fresh on his mind, and the ring on his hand was still warm. The band shined softly in the light, signifying their eternal love and bond.

"Why are you awake so early?" Marie's voice asks, her voice was soft from sleep.

This startled Gabriel. How long has she been awake?

"I was just thinking." He says, his voice was also soft. He felt Marie pull back to look at him.

"Oh? Care to share your thoughts with your beloved wife?" One of her hands reaches up and cups his face. He sighs softly, covering that hand with his, pulling it to his lips to kiss her wrist.

"I was thinking of how much I love you, and how wonderful it feels to call you my wife." He answers softly. He saw her face flush slightly, but her smile was soft and dreamy. Like she couldn't believe this either. That was a wonderful thought to him.

"Quite early to be this sappy, my love." She chuckles. That loving name sent warmth throughout his body. He leans into her, and they nuzzle their noses together. Neither one quite had the energy for a kiss this early.

They both fell asleep, whispering promises of the future and love for each other. Right now, everything was perfect for Gabriel. For once, he was excited for the future, because he could build it with Marie.

Marie sat by the entrance of the sanctuary. The millennium long war was over. Gabriel and Trevor had defeated Satan and brought peace back to the world. She looked over at Victor, who was busy giving vaccines to the survivors, before looking back at the entrance.

A chill came over her, and she jumped up. They were back! "Trevor!" She ran to her son before he could fully enter the sanctuary. She presses a kiss to his cheek and hugs him close. Marie let go when her Gabriel stepped into the sanctuary. "Gabriel." She looked him over. The exhaustion radiated off of him. She couldn't contain herself, and threw her arms around his neck. The hug was tight and warm.

She pulls away to hold his face in her hands. The bags under his eyes made his face look hollow and bruised. "My love?" He whispers to her. Tears stream down her face. "I've missed you so much, my love." She whispers and presses kisses to his face. Those bruised eyes. The hollow cheeks. The crook in his nose from where it got set wrong when they were kids. Everything. She had a millennia to make up for.

Dracul leaned back on his throne. Screams, flesh being torn, and metal hitting the stone flooring was the symphony for which he watched the Brotherhood knights get devoured by the Castle.

The last man falls, and those bloody tendrils twitched with excess energy. It wasn't satisfied with the battle and it showed this displeasure with it wrapping itself around its Prince. Dracul chuckles coldly at this display.

"I know. They have only grown more pathetic haven't they?" He purrs in a sickeningly sweet tone. The blood puddle hisses and bubbles. Pathetic creatures. They will never be able to hurt you, It growls in his mind. Dracul smirks, lifting one of those bloody tendrils to his mouth. He plants a small kiss to it, before showing how much he truly appreciates his guardian.

The sun was warm in the garden. Mathias was sitting on a blanket, eating some sliced apples with cinnamon and honey. He was engrossed in a book of alchemy The Toymaker let him borrow. Well, he would be, if the laughter coming from his left wasn't there.

Turning his head, Dracul was being swarmed by Mandragoras, who were determined to get the fruit slices from him. Mathias rolled his eyes playfully at the scene and laughed as Dracul finally managed to get the little plant beings off of him.

"Have some difficulties there?" Mathias chuckled as Dracul laid his head in his lap.

"No. They're never difficult."

"You're just saying that because you have a bias towards them."

Mathias laughs at the pout that Dracul gives him. After being around the Vampire Lord for so long, reading him becomes easy, like the book that was no longer in his lap. Dracul's pout deepens at the laughter. The alchemist shakes his head and leans down, the prince leaning his head up, and they meet in the middle with a promise. A promise for more gentle moments in the future. They part slowly, neither one truly wanting to leave the other.

Hi! :)I would like to ask you a few words to translate, if you don’t mind.(I don’t know if any of these have an exact transition/meaning?): charisma, manipulation, control, soulmate, twin flame. Thank you so much! :) (I need them for a fantasy novel)

Hello! Some of these have close matches and some are a little further from Sumerian concepts, but my twitch community helped me brainstorm translations for you.

For "charisma", I'd use either namhili 𒉆𒄭𒇷 "charm, personal allure" or namnir 𒉆𒉪 "confidence" (which also means "supremacy").

"Manipulation" doesn't have a great match. En tar 𒇷𒋻 is a phrasal verb meaning "to handle (a situation), to intercede" as well as "to ask". For a more negative meaning, there's ningangar 𒃻𒀉𒃻 "deception", source of the verb phrase ningangarshe aka 𒃻𒀉𒃻𒀝 "to cheat, deceive", which I'd probably use for "to manipulate someone".

The basic word for "control" in Sumerian is shu 𒋗, which just means "hand" and by extension "authority, control".

There isn't really a concept of "soulmate" or "twin flame" in Sumerian that I can find. The word gabari 𒃮𒊑 means "copy, equal match" but its connotation is of an "equally matched opponent", more a rival than a soulmate. We can construct a phrase like manzi 𒌋𒌋𒍣, from zi 𒍣 "soul, breath" and man 𒌋𒌋 "partner, counterpart". For "flame" I'd use izi 𒉈 "fire", as the more direct translations for "flame" all have a more negative or destructive connotation in Sumerian - ganzer 𒂵𒀭𒍢𒅕 is "flame, darkness, netherworld entrance" while ububul 𒅇𒁍𒁍𒌌 is "lightning flash, flaming arrow, pustule". Combining with tab 𒋰 "double, pair, companion, together" would be izitab 𒉈𒋰 "double fire".

Dracul's hands were shaking, his mind fuzzy from the blood of the Castle. He was so cold and tired, his body felt like a puppet on strings. His eyes were dazed and his feet traveled a path he has traveled many, many times. In the light of the moon, he comes to a grave. The stone was illegible to his blurry eyes, but he knew who this grave belonged to.

He sank to his knees, the ground beneath him was cold and wet. Was it raining? He didn't know. Leaning forward, he dug his hands into the wet dirt, and started to dig. The mud clung to his body as his claws scratch the casket inside the grave. With a gasp, he pulls the casket out. So close, he was so close. He just needed...

He stands back up and dragged the casket through the mud and rain. He needed to keep her safe, that was part of his vows. Dracul didn't care if this led the Brotherhood back to the Castle. As long as his beloved was safely back in his arms, God, himself, could come down and destroy everything. Dracul wasn't aware of when he got back to the safety of the Castle, but he couldn't focus on that, he needed to show his beloved to her new bed!

He carried the casket up the stairs, pushing open one of the wooden doors. Within the room were two tombs. One was small, housing the body of his dam. Laura, the one, who under better circumstances, would've been a beloved member of the Belmont family. With Dracul's presence, candles on top of the coffin came alight, bringing light into the room.

He greets Laura, before turning his head and dragging the casket close to the second tomb. This tomb was larger, with the softest silk and fur inside it. Marie deserved the best, and he was determined to give her such. Carefully, he opened the casket. Curse the Sisters within the Brotherhood of Light! They never bothered to put her in proper funeral attire, nor did they reattach her poor head. That would never do for his Consort!

He pulls her out and carefully strips her of her clothes, being mindful of her now bloated body. Dracul could smell the scent of rot from her body, but didn't mind. He was certain that he didn't smell much better. With a soft hum, he begins to gently clean her.

"There we are. I don't want you getting sick once I reattach your head!" Dracul gleefully states, as he grabs the thread and needle. Carefully realigning her head to her body, he began to sew into the soft flesh. It wasn't his neatest work, but, as he bit his hand and rubbed it onto the threads, he made sure to make it strong.

Once he was done with her head, something in him paused. Something pulled him forward, making him lean his head into her chest. Dracul listened closely, hearing nothing at first, until a subtle bu-bump bu-bump filled his ears. A heart beat? He lifts his head, bewildered. His hand comes up and his claw traces down her chest. He could feel the heart thumping against his hand, making him cut into her flesh. The rotting flesh gave way easily, putting up no resistance as he dug into her body, pulling out the beating organ. Dracul held the organ delicately in his hand. It was decaying, yet beating. This..... This was a gift! A gift from his beloved! Eagerly accepting the gift, he ripped himself open. Nudging his own organs around, he places her heart close to his, forcing his body to accept the organ. After his body heals, he cleans and sews up the mess he made of her.

One of his minions brings up a beautiful burial gown. A white and blue gown, with gold silk embroidery, made into beautiful and elegant patterns, complete with a Belmont crest brooch; a blue hose, that Dracul very carefully placed on her legs; and white silk slips that he slid onto her feet. A succubus gently lifted Marie's body, making it easier for Dracul to brush her hair, and then wrap it up. Dracul smiled at the succubus, good. They know who their princess was, and responded accordingly.

Once Marie had her wrap, he picked her up and, very gently, slid her into her tomb. Once she was in place, he decorated the inside with flowers and treasures, before placing a beautiful, ornate crown close to her head. Marie was the Princess Consort, she deserved all of this.

Then he stares at her, gently petting her cheek with his knuckles. Leaning down, he presses a kiss to her cold lips. He savored this final kiss, savoring the feel of her under his hand. Dracul pulls away, and slides the tomb lid in place, locking it in place. He traces his hand along her tomb as he walks towards a stash of unlit candles. Each candle found a new home atop Marie's tomb, being lit by Dracul's magic as he places each one.

Dracul made a vow years ago to keep Marie safe, and he'd be damned if Death stopped him from fulfilling his husbandly duties to his beloved.
