Art Collection Part 3
We not only received pictures, but also this text submission. Please enjoy!
I, Gackpoid
All of the VOCALOID characters here are belong to Yamaha Corporation and the others. No commercial profit taken.
The references I used during this work are from Vocaloid Wikia and Vocaloid Amino. Thank you so much for the information!
Thanks to Indmlkstbr, Mas Kazuto, and Manggat for being the beta-readers. Also, to NaoyaBlue - although she didn’t do anything, at least she was willing to help me at that time before something happened to her and her family.
And thanks a lot to the organizers of Gackpo Camui Collab 2017. You guys certainly had a lot of works to do but you could still hold this event.
Presented by Yoshina Vanatala for #gackpocamuicollab2017
happy reading.
.
.
And this is what he expected since 9 years ago. And he felt whether he could get more happy than he already was.
And it was so funny because at that time he was not sure about everything he had. Gackpoid was a name for himself which was a software, while his character name was Kamui Gakupo, or officially written as Camui Gackpo. The name was so similar to the name of the provider; Kamui Gakuto.
Sometimes these two names were swapped among fans. He was still okay if the swapped ones were Kamui Gakupo and Camui Gackpo—because basically, they were the same. But for the Gackpoid issue....
Fortunately, it could be saved as time goes by. Especially this name’s identity case.
"Don’t worry! You're not alone!"
This girl's character name was GUMI, and Megpoid was the name of the software. Their case was almost the same—no, it could be the same. Their names both often confused the fans. And perhaps as a person who had the same fate as him, the girl often tried to cheer him up.
But he felt lucky he really was not alone. In some aspects.
Although it was undeniable that he could be acting as if he was confident with his appearance, while deep inside his heart, he often wondering about it.
Furthermore, secretly, he felt his samurai costume was pretty good and unique when compared to the other characters. So he thought maybe other people would also think the same way about him.
The company said they wanted something different from the characters that other companies had created. If other people use the style of the future as their trademark, then he as the first character of this company was made into a guinea pig to wear something that was inversely from that style.
Honestly, he always liked his Jinbaori—a kind of kimono that was used as a battle surcoat in the samurai period. He even brought something phenomenal in his production period with him; a katana sword named Gakutou Miburi. The pattern on its blade could make musical sounds—oh, he thought it was cool.
He did not care if his sword was often compared to VY2’s wakizashi.
By the way, he considered himself different among the VOCALOID characters and that was the main purpose of why his company made him wore all the costumes. The costume he wore and became his trademark.
And fortunately this difference—or what? He had no idea. Anyway, it was also warmly welcomed even by other characters. Just like this bluish-haired girl. Hatsune Miku, the Japanese female character who so appalled the world in her phase—to this day. He was delighted that she was willing to approach him first, because at least she was not being arrogant to the "new kid" like himself.
Initially the girl asked if he had something that was becoming a trending meme. He did not understand what a meme was, but he immediately knew the answer; eggplant. It was his meme. Okay. No problem. He thought there was no problem with eggplant. After all, the eggplant was nutritious and good for health.
Hatsune Miku also laughed with him as if his mascot was a very funny joke. But he smiled in the end. Apparently the girl had a leek mascot. Oh, alright, he was not really alone.
The girl stopped their conversation before finally the held-on laughter really exploded. He did not really understand what was funny, but never mind. He knew the girl was just joking.
One or two serious problems were sometimes confusing his mind. But it seems, now he could not think much about it. Because no matter how bad his weakness was, there would always be someone who was willing to accept it.
.
.
At least the presence of this young man reminded him that sometimes problems could be caused by luck that was not as good as the appearance of his artbox.
"But now it's not anymore, is it?" His voice sounded so deceptive. He seemed so cute—okay, that was what fans said. He himself thought neutrally toward the young man. But his voice was... bass.
"Sometimes I still think about it though...."
This young man was named KAITO. This young man was out of luck because he was released at the wrong time. He did not really understand, it was just what happened. Because of all that nonsense, this young man was considered as a "fail product". But fortunately, either too stupid or too reluctant to face the problem, this young man could still laugh like that.
He himself had a similar problem with this young man’s. Yes.
Then he had panicked because he was delayed almost a month since the company first announced his development. Even when his release had been done and some people have bought him on his first month, he still could not calm down. He might be calm, but inside his heart, he was restless. Even the entertainment given by his fellow VOCALOID characters was not be able to lessen his worries.
Not so many people ordered him; the lack of demand for male vocal was the reason that had been spreading around even since the first release of KAITO. Although his voice was provided by the most famous and best artist of the universe, if no one needs him, then what could he do?
Again he was grateful that he was not alone. Especially regarding the obstacles he faced in the early years of his release.
"Don’t think too much about it... you're not alone about the high-selling price."
He had thought—and besides him, there was this woman. Prima was her name, a English VOCALOID who released not long before himself and got a fairly high-selling price. This woman was the only one who overcame his selling price that he thought was already the highest among his peers in his time. This woman had a soprano voice that was quite liked by some circles and released with a marketing target for professionals. He thought, Prima was an elite indeed.
Well, maybe you guys think he was pleonastic because he liked to worry about unimportant ones. But if you were in his position, you would understand. His voice was provided by a famous singer—you could use Gackt's voice in your song and be able to create a voice that resembled him if you are clever enough to tune in his voice. But oh, alright. The selling price was too high. But Prima's presence did make him realize he was not alone in that case.
He thought his anxiety had been meaningless.
"Man, then what do you want? We formed a boyband with the name 'BIG AL Syndrome'?" A young man threw a joke and greeted with sarcasm haha, it’s very funny by an other young man.
By the way, BIG AL and VY2 were two other examples of delayed release issues besides him. BIG AL was a very relaxed person and often even joked about it, while VY2 tended to be cold-tempered or unconcerned, he himself could not identify it clearly.
At least he did not have to face all of his own problems by himself, did he? Including the release date that was delayed.
.
.
He was happy. Very, very happy. He would not deny this happiness. And he smiled in the end.
"YAAAAAAAYYYYY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAKUPO-SAAAAAAANNNNNNN!"
The anniversary of his release fell on this day; July 31 and exactly nine years ago, he was still alone. As he was preoccupied with worrying himself, he was never fully aware of how many people loved him. The fans, the company, and his fellow VOCALOID characters.
"Gakupo-san’s birthday is today, right?! How about we go to a karaoke bar?!"
"Psh. Don’t shout aloud in my ears, dork."
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAKKUN !!"
He was so excited that he thought he was going to cry in the midst of this hustle and bustle of people who were willing to accept him. He, as Gackpoid a.k.a Camui Gackpo. He developed with the people he loved, and loved him.
Thank you for everything. Without your support, Gackpo thinks he could not survive until now—on his 9th birthday.
.
.
END.
You may want to re-read this from here. As eventually this is a fictogeminto.
Thank you for reading.
