I am constantly impressed with Animal Well.
Me: Fuck! How am I supposed to beat this boss?
Game: Aren't you glad I put a save point right in front of the boss room?
Me: Yes, thank you. Now how do I beat this guy?
Game: They say that to fuck around is human, but to find out is divine.
Me: I'm pretty sure they don't say that.
Game: But at least you can charge right back in to that boss room dozens of times without problem.
Me: That's true. I guess I will fuck around some more.

💎for layla, with either oc you would like to answer with?
Ama!! Sorry, this one took me so long!! I love Layla dearly and made the moonflower comparison before realizing you said it was her favorite flower so now I must keep it!!
"Layla!" Lariel says her name with a sweet smile, "A beautiful soul. She reminds me of a moonflower. We used to have them in our garden… A bloom not everyone takes the time to appreciate, but for those who get the chance, one of the most lovely." Lariel takes a moment to consider, "It can be difficult for one to remain as full of life when you feel you have no place in the world." Glancing down she opens her palm as if in offering to someone unseen, "And yet she does so with strength and compassion."

see, i feel like i'm allowed to say a lot of new designs don't feel "pokemon" enough to me, because i actually do think every other generation so far does for the most part, including the last one, which i didnt even play or care for. the style in general is clearly shifting (and always has to some degree) and so is for the pokemon and i just don't have the same immediate connection to some of these new ones or even a general design appreciation like i have on past reveals of new ones. if something feels like it belongs in a different game, i don't think thats invalidated by everyone else having said the same thing about previous gens (which. yeah. this complaint is extremely overused but also i think everyone else is wrong anyway (half joke)) its just how i feel for my own limit i guess. it actually feels like the hisui designs are almost a middle ground between these current design styles actually, cus i generally do like those new guys but they also felt, a tad off to me
"it doesnt feel like a pokemon" sounds silly on the surface but dismissing why that is i think is sillier because there's clearly design trends throughtout the generations..
although, maybe i just need to see them in the anime or other places, i think that also helps. but i think what's really the true tell is how i look at these new pokemon in 1-2 years, cus for most people, i do just think the newness of the design philosphies throw them off from what they're used to, which is understandable, even if yeah, i'd wish they'd be more self aware about it. so i do think the better way of determining how i feel is letting them settle for a while first. it's just standsout to me cus again, i'm not into the last games, but even from release day looking at the pokedex they still had a pokemon-like thread i was following i feel like, even if theyre still very "modern pokemon design" as a whole. i wonder if a better thing would be to say "i dont like the design philosphy of (x) generation or (x) pokemon" or soemthing like that

😏 Dá uma olhada nessa Identidade visual que criei para @biricoestudio Ficou realmente incrível!
A identidade visual do Estúdio Hora do Birico foi criada mantendo a mesma estética do logotipo principal do podcast Hora do Birico.
