Sword and sorcery tabletop RPG which includes a long, rambling list of magic spells with weirdly specific affects and annoyingly particular casting requirements, kind of like if Dungeons & Dragons decided to be about 40% more precious about its magic system, except it's a group worldbuilding game, and one of the first steps is for the group to collectively choose exactly seven of those spells to be the only ones anyone still knows how to cast. All of the spells that didn't get picked might be spoken of in legend, but the knowledge of them has been lost over time. The remainder of the group worldbuilding phase consists principally of brainstorming what a society built around these seven annoyingly specific spells would look like; for example, perhaps the knowledge of their working is jealously guarded, with each of the setting's great nations constructing their entire cultural identity around Their Spell, or perhaps the setting's industrial base is dependent on combining these spells in increasingly unintended ways to form a sort of sorcerous Rube Goldberg machine of production.
(One of the default campaign premises for this hypothetical game would, of course, cast the player characters as a gang of mercenary scholars on a quest to rediscover an eighth spell. Depending on what sort of setting the group initially brainstormed, keeping their intentions under wraps may be strongly advisable.)
We're thrilled to announce Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe as the composers for Dragon Age: The Veilguard!
To celebrate, a word from Hans Zimmer: "Epic stories lend themselves to epic scores, and the narrative tapestry BioWare has woven in The Veilguard never left me wanting for inspiration, be it during the game’s moments of shining heroism or darkest emotional pitfalls. I’m proud to have shared the journey of creating the musical backdrop for the latest Dragon Age adventure with Lorne and the entire design team.”
From Lorne Balfe: "The world of Dragon Age is an unprecedented immersive experience, and never more so than in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Crafting this score alongside Hans Zimmer has allowed us to bring an epic new majesty to the realm of Thedas... I cannot wait for people to play this game.”
My name is Oday, and today I stand on the threshold of a new chapter in my life. Just a few days ago, on October 7th, I received my high school diploma. The feeling of pride is indescribable, not just because I completed this stage, but because I did so amidst the daily challenges of living in Gaza.
I would often study by candlelight at night, and sometimes with the sounds of explosions outside. Despite all of that, I had the strength and determination to keep going. I wasn't alone on this journey; my family was always my support, and I could feel my mother's prayers for me.
After receiving my diploma, I started dreaming of seeing my future take shape within the walls of the university, planning to continue my studies and achieve my ambitions. But on October 7th, my university journey came to a halt due to the events that unfolded. It was a sudden and painful stop, forcing me to rethink my path.
Despite the pain and frustration, I realized that this pause is not the end. Life in Gaza may be difficult, but we are used to rising after every fall. I will hold on to hope and my belief that circumstances will change, and I will return to continue my education and fulfill my dreams, even if the wait is long.
Today I am telling you my story and I am unable to walk on my feet
Early in the morning my mother asked me to take her to the bathroom and be with her. The bathroom was about 10 meters away from our tent. I was in a hurry because my mother has diabetes and cannot hold her urine. I helped her until she reached the bathroom. Before we reached the bathroom, the ground was wet and the ground was muddy in the camp.
My foot slipped and my mother almost fell, but she was holding on to the bathroom door which was barely fixed and I tried to get up but she couldn't stand on my feet because of the sprain I had caused due to the wet ground from the rain water and I was afraid that my mother would slip with me and something bad would happen to her but God saved her and I called my brothers and they helped me stand and I waited until the medical point opened and they prescribed me the treatment but they didn't have the treatment and they advised me to rest completely please stop this war I am unable to move until I recover from my mother and father so help them please help me support my campaign
I am vetted by association as being @nesmamomen's uncle and she has been vetted by @el-shab-hussein
I enjoy a good "the Adeptus Mechanicus would be indifferent to gender because they're all about transcending the flesh" headcanon as much as the next nerd, but at times I think it would be more interesting – and also much funnier – if their whole Thou Shalt Not Fuck With The Standard Templates (Unless You're Part of the Secret Cool Kids Club) attitude extended to gender as well. Any novice can be a he/him or a she/her, but you need to reach a certain rank before it's considered appropriate to go by it/its. The existence of neopronouns as occult knowledge permitted only to the worthy.
