Witches, this is your sign to declutter your craft supplies and throw away, recycle/compost, or otherwise get rid of expired herbs and all the stuff you bought on a whim and never use.

I have a question is it okay to take a break from my craft and the work for a bit my grandmas in her last stages of dementia and she doesn't have much time left and she knows she is going and I am drained both emotionally and physically

Because that last post got me thinking about it:
- Herbalism is an entirely unregulated profession
- Anyone can call themselves an herbalist with no qualifications at all
- Herbal “schools” are also largely unregulated
- Many witchcraft books on herbalism, even some popular ones, are created by the author just googling “(plant) magic” and citing whatever random blogspot post they find first.
- The medicinal effects of many, if not most, herbs touted for medicinal purposes have not been proven. Homeopathy defies every principle established by science and medicine and does not work.
Some herbs can kill if you touch them. Countless others can cause irreparable organ damage if ingested in medicinal amounts. Yes, even the ones safe for culinary use. Yes, even “safe” homeopathic dilutions.
Research this shit like your life depends on it, because it does.

making my best friend a witchy little care package!
so far i’ve included :
•rose quartz, clear quartz, and amethyst- my personal favorites
•turquoise (her favorite) moon earrings i found in a small shop one day
•tons of spell candles & matches- featuring bonus candles in her favorite color
•rosemary (of course) & cinnamon sticks
•some homemade essential oil rollers- each color is a different blend with a unique purpose
•adorable tarot cards i stumbled upon that are perfect for her that include a guidebook
•moon water from the super blue moon
•a really nifty glass bottle i found at the dollar store
she and i talked at length about what she felt drawn to, and this just felt like a fun way to get her started. a lot of this stuff i just happened to have already! i want to put together a list of celestial events & simmer pot recipes, maybe some other small rituals. i can’t wait to see what her practice grows into & where it takes her!
