Getting dirty; spent my Saturday afternoon mixing soil. If there's one thing I've learned in gardening it's to start with rich, fertile soil... if not, you'll waste your time, energy, and money; everything else you do won't matter. Plus playing with dirt is therapeutic, no matter how old you are!

The sweet potato glories are invading the aloe patch, but they don't seem to mind. Still, time to get the machete out. #springblooms #sweetpotato #morningglory #gardeningchores #auhiligarden2017 #rsayMarch2017

Planted one of my "Bumpy Lemon" seedlings in-ground this morning as my Aloha to November and autumn, pretending I can feel the change in the air though reality still feels like summer here... hot, humid summer. Doing this always makes me think of that saying, "the best time to plant a tree was yesterday" but there's also the one which says "Fall is the best time to plant your trees and start an orchard of good eating for years to come."

Morning project: separating the blood sorrel patch. Not as easy as I’d hoped it would be: won’t let it grow as thick next time.  (at In the garden)
