Thanks for sharing the video about The Gavle Goat from Jeffiot. I've been consuming his content for the past week. Also amusing that I understand a second reason the jackdaws are Funny Birds. The other was that whole Unidan thing. Feels like my mid to late 20s is me catching up on the Internet Lore.

Has anyone tried long-distance flaming archery yet? I literally just learned about this but if they’ve got so much security this seems like the way to go. Or is that dishonourable?

Indeed, in 2005 a group dressed as Santa and the gingerbread man shot flaming arrows causing the goat to burn. It is my personal favorite way the goat has burned.

i don't mean this in a bad way by any means, i'm saying this with genuine joy and glee, i love they way people are calling the julbock "mini goats", when those are actually the traditional ones and gävle bocken is the one that's huge

the average julbock is small enough to be put on your shelf. the gävle bocken is an anomaly and should not have been counted

That is true, the gävlebocken was made to be a giant julbock as a festive Christmas decoration. It is very funny that because of its history people only know the gävlebocken and fire

I love the flaming arrow as best method of destruction but a close second im desperate for more people to know about is the failed attempt to bribe the security guards into leaving their posts so someone could steal the goat With A Helicopter

Anon you are so right. Even though the goat survived 2010 hats off to the two guys who tried to bribe a security guard the equivalent of $7,000 USD to let them kidnap the goat

Yes! In 2005 Santa and the Gingerbread Man shot the Goat with a flaming arrow. It was an iconic year.

How long will the goat be standing if no one burns it down?

If no one successfully commits arson then the goat will be up until the new year.

It’s burned as late as December 23rd/24th in the past, and last year it didn't burn until the 17th. So not the longest it has been standing, and there is still very much hope for a successful burning this year!!
