Nhs/wwx is one of my favorite casual rarepairs where it's like. I don't want them to end up together or even like get together in the story but I still wish they had more fanon content!! Like come on guys .. the sexual tension between you and the guy whose tests you used to cheat off of and also who you now have set up an elaborate plan to revive from the dead ?!

I think it would be even better in this au because NHS would've inherited sqq's weakness for scary misunderstood protagonists but with the added angst that he knows the protag will still end up with his love interest and he doesn't want to interfere.. tho I won't lie I wouldn't be opposed to lwj/wwx/nhs . You do know what would be super funny though. After getting over wwx, nhs decided to go for jiang cheng instead because he also inherited sqh's weakness for the protags right hand man

i got excited answering this and went off on a couple of spoiler-filled tangents, so I included the rest under the cut.

I 10000000% agree, especially about the upcoming raid! Team Xen grunts literally sign away their bodies and souls when they join, so it's no wonder why seemingly redeemable characters like Eli and Sharon are forced to stay on.

[aside: I'm pretty sure that Team Xen "recruitment" in general follows a standard format where people in life-threatening or easily manipulable situations are offered either a second chance at their own life or the chance to save the life of a loved one. I mean, there's Neved with Francesca, Madelis with Lisbeth, Keta with Aelita. I mean, there's a grave marked "Eli" at Carotos Peak and I don't think that's a coincidence. Why else would all these people fight (presumably) for the destruction of the world? All those fires in Aevium's past (like the lab fire with Jenner, Maddie (prob Madelis), and Cas (prob Cassandra)), could in part be a massive recruitment effort.]

Anyway, I think the only hope for Ren in the upcoming raid is what I mentioned before, about how he is somehow integral to Team Xen's overarching plans, as per renegade 13.5. My best guess is that these plans include using the energy emitted from a Xenpurgis rampage in GDC to fulfill the dark prophecy, using "the four shadows" mentioned on the Absol Statue back in Blacksteeple to bring back Storm-9.

The shadows that shade the earth shall be known in the end. The one of raw evil, the one of obsession, the one of betrayal, and the one of greed. These four shall see the world be lost forever.

We don't have enough information to definitively say who the one of raw evil, obsession, or greed could be. But betrayal? It fits Ren. In the scene where he is first "hired" or whatever and meets Madame X, I feel like this idea is pretty spoon-fed to us.

MADAME X: Have you brought him? The one I've detailed. NASTASIA: Yes. Please, come forth. Introduce yourself. REN: …Hello, Ma'am. My name is Ren. NASTASIA: Ren used to be comrades with [player] and the rest. But based on what he's told me, if accurate, would display the attributes of the one we're looking for. MADAME X: And just why would one of [player]'s comrades want to betray them?

I mean, the word "betray" is explicitly used here.

On Nastasia: Yes. Absolutely. She's strong as hell, but she can't stand up alone to Madame X. Like you said, her powers can only go so far. After all, presumably, her body and soul are in the control of Madame X as well.

In general, Nastasia is an absolutely fascinating character imo... and I have a feeling the Ren might not be the only double agent working for Xen. Nastasia is "the woman who sacrificed everything for the one who loved her." I think we can say with 99.999999% certainty that she is the grown up version of little Anastasia, Katsu's daughter. Out of all the Execs, she seems to be the most devoted to Madame X. That tracks if Madame X is somehow tied to Maria, or is Maria herself. Is Anastasia, by working for her, possibly trying to save Madame X/Maria from herself? Is Madame X/Maria perhaps even being controlled by a darker force, and "unbound soul" like Vitus? In that way, is Nastasia still the little girl trying to reach her best friend?

All this to say I think Nastasia may be more on our side than we think. She is seemingly the most devoted Xen Exec, yet she has gone on multiple dangerous, rogue missions--including one that really did nothing but aid our side--helping Aelita get to the Spring of Rejuvenation and saving the lives of Venam, Erin, Allen, and Alice. She clearly knows that Ren is a double agent, and she hasn't ratted him out (or, possibly, she has ratted him out and Madame X simply does not care, because with Xen having completely control over his soul and body, he can still be used to fulfill his purpose, regardless). There's the fact that Nastasia, an apparent wunderkind with machines and technology, "missed" the fact that the Sigils in Blacksteeple were being sabotaged by Nancy (something Melia immediately noticed). And there's the fact that she clearly trusts and loves Ren (in a maternal way, I think), cheering him up, helping him sneak out of HQ in his actual body. You know, usual mother-son activities. But yeah, I guess the point I'm getting at here is that I could see Nastasia doing her darndest to protect Ren, maybe even sacrificing herself to do so, but I don't think that would be enough to save him, with the level of control Xen has over the both of them at this point.

Back to Ren, there's another things that's been bothering me: the whole twin prophecy with Reina. I have... thoughts... about this. I def could see it playing out exactly how Reina expects: one twin (Ren) fights for the destruction of the world (likely against his will), and the other (Reina) fights to save it. But another part of me (that's read way too many thrillers) feels like this is too cut and dry, and that this presumption is going to be flipped on its head. Let's say Ren does die in the upcoming raid, and he dies fighting to save the world. What if... destroying the world, following Madame X's plan, would undo his death somehow? What if it would save him, or bring him back? We know that souls get recycled in this universe, after all. Would Reina consider switching sides to bring him back? That would be a betrayal, for sure. And that would also play into the whole Life is Strange moral quandary pervasive throughout the game--save the one you love, or the lives of millions? This would also fulfill the prophecy, but in a way that we do not necessarily expect. Because otherwise, I feel like this prophecy is pretty superfluous. By the time we hear it, we already know that Ren is Xen [hehe], so what new information does it really present?

Anyway, yeah, um, thank you so much for the ask! Sorry for the long winded response. There's way too many theories about this game bouncing around in my brain and it's nice to have an outlet for it. Like,, who would get sent to participate from each region from the rebornverse (assuming that the limit of participating gym leaders is 8), how well would they do, who would they interact with from the canon characters, who would have the biggest beef with someone, etc.

Also if Reborn/Aevium/Ayrith had the chance to host the PWT (assuming that it changes location each time like the Olympics), which place would they choose? Like, there are some obvious picks like where tournaments were already hosted before, but still

Ok so PWT stuff. Starting with desolation we ummm kinda only know 8 alive gym leaders LOL. so the 8 from there would likely be Connor/Aderyn/Emily/Rosetta/Aaron/Garret/Reeve/Ava. Now there is Also a dragon leader mentioned too, so it's definitely likely for that one considering dragon typing's notoriety; however as we only have connection to 8 gym leaders (that are still kicking) at all in deso, it's safe to assume for now that those 8 would be the ones invited.

For rejuv? Im willing to go Venam/Narcissa/Valarie/Amber/Lavender/Talon/Saki/Kreiss for my picks. Just based on situation; though theoretically if this is in a true tl where all is peaceful then it shouldnt really matter. Regardless, Venam/Amber/Saki is a Do Not Separate kind of situation. They're all pt notorious in their own way lol and def more willing to be in front of the crowd. Narcissa and Valarie are performers too, and would be slay to see. Talon because of his sheer popularity despite not actually being ingame yet lol (thus my actual reasoning is also behind bars; but there is one.). Kreiss because I Said So. If not Kreiss, then Erick or Florin tbh. Valarie Could Also be swapped out for Florin or Adam. It kinda depends, but yuh.

Reborn . Saphira/Charlotte/Julia/Florinia/Ciel/Adrienn/Luna/Radomus. Belrose sisters, very notorious; v popular. This is counting as long as they have BEEN gym leader majorly at some point btw lol. Julia is just Happy To Be There and very energetic. Rini is there bc Julia is but also bc she's just v good. Terra isnt there because she's banned .

Ciel is also a performer-- i def tried to lean towards charas that would actually be more chill in a crowd. Which is immediately heel turned by Luna but whatever. Again an argument of popularity. Adrienn already goes all over to other regions; xe is the most solid "oh absolutely" i have when it comes to going to other region things.and Radomus is . Because I like him and he's cool. Aya is a perfectly viable swap for him tho considering she willingly became a reserve in a diff region anywy

Kreiss and Radomus would either get along very well or be Extremely annoyed at one another. No inbetween. Ava and Rini are shaking hands in mutual respect. Charlotte and Amber have a fierce rivalry but are absolutely hitting it off. I feel like Luna and Venam would actually get along rlly well :). Emily and Julia have to be kept separate because they get along too well and have the same ideas. Saphira stays as far away from Saki and Connor as possible. Reeve and Adrienn are absolutely vibing together; Rosetta is there, too. Ciel and Aderyn bond bc Flying types. Can see Talon getting along w Aderyn and all four Cellia ppl a lot. Saki Also has to Not meet Julia and Emily or hell ensues. She also reallyyyy gets along w Garret. Aaron and Aya beef; because it's funny. Connor doesnt want to associate w the other fire type users.

Hnnngh I still wanna Blorbo talk about Aevia (also really funny I'm putting this much effort into a pseudo-OC for a Pokemon Fan-game while my actual ocs just vibing in the void)

Anyways, Spoiler Warning once more, this time I wanna talk more about Aevia's relationships with Venam and Melia and how they develop differently from canon, since those 2 are probably the most major difference in my version of Aevia compared to the canon MC, due to Aevia having feelings for both of them in this version of her.

I'm gonna just do Venam for right now, to avoid having a super long post again (Spoiler, it was super long regardless)

-both her and Aevia start to have extremely minor crushes right around the end of Chapter 3, since they've gotten to known each other better since Chapter 1 (basically I'm inferring that Aevia was staying with Venam during that short time skip after the Manor events, since the MC starts in Venam's room after that. And likely they were just becoming better friends during that time skip). Nothing major, and neither really realize it anyways (and they'd both refuse to acknowledge it if they did anyways, since Melia's "death" is still somewhat recent)

-Really, the sections during Tarajuma aren't terribly different all things considered. Both are too occupied with the multiple hostage situations, trauma from mean ice lady, Melia and soon after Aelita getting Down With the Sickness, and the entire Valor mountain situation to dwell on those feelings much at all, and besides that's also when Venam reunited with Melia. They do get closer of course, but their actual feelings for one another don't really develop much.

-Chapter 9 is where the two start to have a little more than crushes. Both Venam and Aevia are rather oblivious to each other's feelings, and only Aevia starts to realize she actually has any feelings. Aevia does also feel guilty for having those feelings, since by that time she also has noticed Venam and Melia likely feel more then just friends by that point. However this is also the point Aevia really feels comfortable around Venam (her teasing her for being worried for example), and not hesitating at all to take Venam's side (mostly relevant for Kanon instigating a fight with Venam and her first thought being to fight on Venam's side rather then think "hey maybe we shouldn't have a fight in a diner")

-Chapters 10 and 11 also not terribly different. Though I have some minor things that aren't specific to the two's relationships to address things that only happen in game due to the devs not wanting to take too much control from the players. (Basically the first time in Grand Dream City, the whole group explores and gets used to the city together for example). Only significant differences being Venam starts to somewhat notice her own feelings, somewhat. Aevia much like Kanon never having experienced the under water section of the train to GDC would probably just be in awe, and well... Venam might just notice that while they're still sitting together. Also of course, Aevia later on being devastated with Venam being turned to stone. She doesn't have as visceral a reaction as Melia does, but the whole situation just really hits her hard.

-End of Chapter 14 and during Chapter 15. Venam's left with her thoughts for a whole 3 months while being stoned to hell. I'd say during this very long period of thinking, among the many other things she thinks of and goes through, she'd probably finally realize she also has feelings for Aevia as well as Melia. She'd elect to just... Not bring it up ever like she does with Melia. Regardless she still goes through her whole thing regarding her own strength and worth like she does normally. During the month of training Aevia notices something is up with her, and tries to talk to her and try and cheer her up. It helps a little but as in canon it takes until her pep talk from Melia and Ren to actually get herself together a bit.

-Obviously I don't know what will or could happen post Chapter 15. I do feel that Aevia and Venam would end up together before Melia would with the two, but only mostly because both Venam and Melia just have the mindset of "Don't bring up the romantic feelings at all", which would mean Aevia would be the one who brings it up to Venam. And as I'll get to whenever I make Melia's version of this post, Aevia's feelings for Melia are all over the place considering how much time the two spend trying not to get killed by Team Xen or something else, and the two's time together in more casual settings end up being rarer and briefer compared to Aevia with Venam.

Yeah it's just like ?? Idk op's top posts seemed fairly reasonable so I guess this is just another "Jiang Cheng eats people's brains" scenario. I think the biggest issue I have with this kind of discourse in general is the notion that "Jiang Cheng is ruining the Jiang sect by being Jiang Cheng" which I feel is weird on a lot of levels that just indicate that you straight up didn't understand half of what was going on in mdzs.

1. The Jiang sect was already ruined. You read about it. It was burned down and everyone except the sect heirs and wwx were killed, what's not clicking. The main reason that Jiang sect doesn't have many junior disciples is most likely because idk , many of the vulnerable young denizens of ymj were killed and as hard as Jiang Cheng tries, he can't force everyone in lotus pier to repopulate like shinzo abe convincing people to get married with anime. This also connects to:

2. The way sects work in mdzs is explicitly hereditary. This is a HUGE point in the world-building-- sure jc could theoretically adopt a bunch of kids or something, but what's the precedent for that? Baoshan Sanren's mountain? Blood ties are everything in mdzs. And this leads into:

3. The implication that Jiang Cheng is ruining his own sect by not getting married and having kids. I don't think I need to elaborate much on this being ummm weird as hell in many ways and also wrong because guess who else doesn't have a wife or kids... Lan Xichen?

- Idk where people are assuming that Yunmeng Jiang/Jiang Cheng are like. explicitly ultra classist? Please keep in mind that the entire WORLD of mdzs is classist, this is a huge point of critique in the book that you literally could not miss unless you didn't read it. Furthermore, honestly, the Jiang are PROGRESSIVE in this regard. First of all, Jiang Cheng explicitly respected Wei Wuxian on a deeply personal level that defied class standards. He wanted to make Wei Wuxian his right hand man!! By mdzs standards, this is huge!! If he was really so classist because of Yu Ziyuan, as the sect heir he wouldn't have sacrificed his own safety and golden core to lead the wen away from wwx, a mere servant! The Jiang sect structure was also explicitly casual in comparison to like, idk the Jin, the guys who are the literal epitome of classism-- descriptions of lotus pier note that the civilian children living nearby would play with lotus pier disciples, do you think the other sects would let their kids do that?

I've just watched the first six episodes and god, I couldn't stop crying.

Before I start, I allert you that there are some novel's spoiler, so stay away from it. Thanks ❤

First, Jin Ling and his parents, this poor baby killed my heart because he lost his parents and accused WWX for this, and this is partially true, but still. I can't blame him for hating WWX, because everyone talk bad about him and his parents, and JC seems to hate him, even if he was his brother.

I love Jiang Cheng, but gosh, everytime I look at him and how much angry he is towards WWX without even asking Why, or What happened to him, I get angry myself. Let's be honest, he is precious, but fuck, he is your brother, you know him more than anyone probably. You should ask yourself why is he acting like this or if what he is doing is really wrong. And looking at him arguing that badly with WWX, knowing what WWX did for him, what he lost for him, while trying to ignore everyone who blamed everything on him, I can't stand it.

WWX is not that pure, but he sacrificed himself for him, he did his best to support him, to make him happy, to love him and his sister, to thank them for Jiang Fengmian's hospitality. He give up is own GOLDER CORE for him, and with it his cultivation. He let everyone joke about his arrogance and selfishness about not wearing his sword, that he COULD NOT use because it would have been useless anyway.

So, Jin Ling is not that guilty. He is a baby, who lost his parents before he could have even known them and someone keep bullying him for that. Saying things like "they left you behind" or "your mother was so bad that even his own husband didn't love her".

Every time I hear them, I want to throw my tel away and scream and then cry.

Jin Zixuan wasn't so friendly with WWX, we know this, but he tryed everything at the end, and died doing so.

Yanli... I don't like to think about her dying. She was such a great person and character: sweet, always smiling, caring, kind, beautiful (fuck that peacock who didn't think so at first). She was a wonderful daughter, wife and sister. She didn't have the possibility to be a great mother though. But what I really appreciated about her, is that until the end, she was the only one trusting WWX so much that she lost her life for him. Her death was the one I most wish it didn't happened.

See? I'm crying while writing this...

Anyway, I think that if someone shoot an arrow to me, it wouldn't hurt as much as all this.

Jiang Cheng, Yanli and Wei Wuxian are the most precious thing (and Lan Zhan too, obviously) in this novel/anime/drama.

That scene killed me, mostly. So, we don't have to talk about how much these three loved each other, helped each other and grow up together, until...

The fourth one show Jaing Fengmian holding a baby WWX and this IS THE FREAKING CUTEST THING. BABY WWX IS TOO CUTE I CAN'T OMG.

And if I start talking about JFM, this post will never end, so let's just say that I keep crying when I see him. But that's pretty normal I think.

The last one has a beautiful and amazingly cute Wei Wen Yuan while eating something with mum and dad.

Isn't he adorable? I mean, knowing that every Wen has at the end died made me soooo very sad. Wen Qing? I just wanted to kill myself when she died meantime trying to save her rescuer. She is a great character too. First she helped JC and WWX and made the surgery. Then when it came to rescue her brother, she threw away her pride to ask WWX to save his brother. I was crying so hard when she got there and saw Wen Ning's dead body, passing out.

In the end, Wen Yuan was the only one left thanks to Lan Zhan who, really but really, is something. I mean, even after everything and how everyone turned his back to WWX, after having acclaimed him just some time before, he stayed by his side, or tryed to do so. I'm really happy that at least at the end (in the novel) they got their happy ending.

WWX lost his parents, his adoptive family, his cultivation to his brother who started hating him, his "new" family and his friends. Lan Zhan was hurted, both mentally and physically after WWX's death and his reclusion, but still waited for him for 13 YEARS. God, these two are so unlucky. But perfect for each other.

So, now that I have finished this ruckus, I'm going back to my corner to cry until the next episode come out just to cry more.
