For how much Machete is described by others as off-putting, he really is a beautiful dog. Does Vasco ever tell him so? That his eyes make him look earnest, his fur the most comforting shade of white like cream, the way his ears catch light like stained glass? If someone doesn't tell him so, he'd forever think he was ugliest duckling

I think Vasco definitely tries, sincerely and often, but Machete is very reluctant to accept compliments and positive feedback. Especially if it's about something as personal and innate as his looks.

I live for trolls being fully insulted by the idea Branch had 5 (Five) close family members old enough to raise him after he was orphaned but all 5 (FIVE) of them didn't even visit. omg just remembered the (probably not really that) funny moment when we were at my dad's gf's for easter and we were talking about a roller coaster in a theme park that my dad really wants to go on

my sister, mum, and I had actually been (along with mum's partner) and i had to sit/lie down after going on said roller coaster bc it somehow really got to me

and mum was like "what roller coaster? i dont remember that. the only one i know is [second newest one that has existed for a couple years now]."

like yeah guess what maybe if you hadnt been drinking on the day we went, one day after my birthday because visiting the theme park had been my gift, you would remember!

but anyway hard luck, i think she realised and knew exactly why she couldnt remember and i only felt slightly bitter realising that she probably couldnt remember much of the rest of the day either then

and this was like the first ride we went on

so

i mean the day was nice and all, even if she cant remember it all :))
