𝐈𝐍 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐋
Character(s). Xiao, Scaramouche, Kazuha x Reader (Separate, ofc). Mentions of Venti, Heizou, and Aether.
Synopsis. In which they keep on denying having feelings towards you but then becomes hella possessive and gatekeeping experts when someone shows interest.
Modern! AU, Fem! Reader (I'm so sorry for putting this so late T^T)
Fluff
Tsundere! Scara and Xiao, as usual, and Shy Kazu bebi.
NOT PROOFREAD, please don’t expect.
Tumblr media
Xiao
He’s just tolerating you.
Or so he says. But Aether always finds it amusing how you can pester XIAO from time to time and get out of it with just a sigh from the golden eyed lad.
Like today, for example.
- As an introvert, powernap at the university’s roof top is like a holy grail for Xiao. He treasures it so much that the moment the bell signifies lunch, he’ll dash out of the room in a heartbeat. His friends know better than to disturb him else they receive some icy words. But somehow, much to Venti’s amusement, Xiao let you crash his solace and talk his ears out on days that you feel like doing so. Pretty privileges. Venti thought, before gushing it out with their friend group.
Heizou tried to make him confess that he is head over heels for you. He just finds it so funny how Xiao keeps denying his very obvious crush on you. Come on, he’s pretty sure that he’s not the only one who notice how Xiao’s sharp eyes keeps drifting back to you every time.
“You don’t look at me like how you look at her!”
“No. It’s just that it hurts my eyes when I see you.”
It’s the talk of the group for like a week. How they would see Xiao being such a gentleman when you’re in the room, his patience longer than they’ve ever seen, and more.
“Just admit it lover boy. You simp for (name)” Scaramouche pointed out. A sinister thought playing in his mind.
-  “I told you, I don’t. She’s just much tolerable than the rest of our classmates” The questioned man rolled his eyes, not entertaining the idea because even if he does, he’s a hundred and ten percent sure that you’re not in love with him. “Well, if that’s true, I guess you wouldn’t mind if I go after her?” the indigo haired man piped, only to be met by daggers sent through Xiao’s eyes. Eerie silence filled the room until Scara raised his hands in the air, satisfied smirk decorating his lips, “I’m kidding.” (Much like what he had done in this one.)
“Thought so.”
Tumblr media
Scaramouche
This man is so obvious it hurts.
And also, he’s extra mean to you. He wants your attention babe, believe me.
“Hah! I can do that better. You suck.”, “What? Speechless because you’re so in love with me?”
No, it’s the other way around and SCARAMOUCHE KNOWS IT.
But like, you don’t believe his attitude towards you because his actions say otherwise.
- “You’re an idiot. Acting so high and mighty while being pathetically weak.” And then he proceeds to help you pick up the books that have fallen from your grasp and took the remaining ones on your arms to carry it himself.
- “Heh. You think he’s gonna like you back by helping him out? No way you’re uglyyy” “I don’t like him idiot. I have to do this, so he’ll pay me nice and good” you rolled your eyes and he sighs in relief.
He’s actually pretty close to you since you’re friends since middle school.
Venti and Heizou will call the two of you an old married couple because of the continues bickering. Of which Scara will return with disgusted look because no, He can’t have it get to him because he will lose you if he does.
But his friends know otherwise. They notice how careful the man when it comes to you, how observant he is when you’re involved, etc. And besides, Venti just feels it.
And Venti turns out right (again) when their group passed by two students who are obviously gushing over you and one of them spot Scara.
- “Just confess to (name)! You wouldn’t know until you try.” One of them says, and Scara’s ears perked up at the sound of your name. “But aren’t they like with that scary dude?” cue Venti and Heizou snickering in the background. This resulted to the two met gazes with them. Their knees tremble at the sight of your bestfriend. His usually playful eyes now dark and looming—and it’s directed at them.
“Yes,” he started menacing look present in his lovely, porcelain face. “they’re taken by the scary dude.”
The two ended up running and Venti and Heizou needs to be intervened by Aether for them to stop laughing.
“Hey scary dude. I thought you didn’t like her?” Venti teased, and Aether just sighed.
“Shut up”
Tumblr media
Kaedehara Kazuha
This man is a gentleman you wouldn’t notice anything if you’re not as observant as Heizou.
He smiles so gentle with anyone, he talks with utmost respect, this guy right here is the epitome of prim and proper.
“But he’s always giddy when he’s talking to them” Heizou pointed out to Venti one day, to which the latter ended up agreeing to. Because now that he mentions it, Kazuha really seems so excited talking to you.
His eyes literally sparkles when you’re in the room, and his smiles are wider and brighter than usual when talking to you.
And in addition to that, KAEDEHARA KAZUHA always go out of his way for you.
- “Kazuha?” The man turns to you, a tender smile immediately making its way to decorate his face, “Yes, (name)?”. “I made a (a dish with gourd in it). Would you like some?” And oh, the man will munch on it like it’s his most favorite thing on the whole Teyvat, only it’s not. He hates bitter gourd. But to make you happy? Give it all to him and he’ll eat it with the sweetest smile.
The lad also does everything in his capability to be near you. You need something from the cafeteria? He needs to buy something as well. You suck at this one subject? He’ll offer to teach you. You accidentally have no partner in light stretching for P.E? He, too!
But it seems like this fact hits Venti and Heizou earlier than him, as they can also see clear signs that Kazuha is not aware of his own feelings.
That’s why they took it to their own hands. They must help their friend in need you know! So, they did the most obvious thing one should do,
They asked him.
- “Zuhaa,” Venti piped in as Heizou placed his arms around Kazuha’s shoulder. “We’re wondering, do you perhaps fancy (name)?”. They received a soft chuckle from the lad. A very composed answer left his lips. “(Name) is certainly beautiful and wonderful individual,” he smiles and cleared his throat. Bashful and shy from his words, “But I am afraid I have to say no to you question.” The other two expected this. ALL their friends are like this, Kazuha is not the first one, so they know what to do. “Ohh That’s great!” Venti exclaimed, as if excited at the new found information before turning to Heizou, “You can pursue them then!”
Kazuha’s heart almost stopped at his friends’ words, so Heizou like you? Of course, he does. You’re beautiful and kind and gentle, and more. It’s only natural to like you. But he wants you! And words left his lips before he can keep it shut.
“No, they’re mine!”
Awe, the usually composed and collected Kazuha now red and ashamed of what he has done. The back of his hand failing miserably at trying to hide the red hue that painted his face down to his neck.
The other two looked at the outburst of their friend before erupting into laughter.
“Not if you don’t confess soon enough” Heizou said in between laughs and Kazuha sent him a sharp look. Face still beet red.
“Don’t do that again” he warned the other two, now caught up on their antics.

youtuber au; when your fans ship you together
xiao x g!n reader
a/n: bye this took forever to edit and tumblr wudnt let me post but here it is!! sorry if it’s incoherent i tried
Tumblr media
✰ you started a youtube channel in your second year in university, you were having trouble making friends and didn’t want to attend the parties. so you made the internet your safe space.
✰ after you posted a compilation of your best attacks and scores your channel blew up and it became one of your main sources of income…college was expensive!
✰ through making a channel you made several friends who are also youtubers, but there was one you only admired from afar: xiao
✰ you often competed against him to be on the trending page, but more often than not got beaten. you were sure he wasn’t aware of your existence.
✰ that was until a certain video was posted
Tumblr media
✰ in a video of xiao reacting to fanart someone had sent him one of you two in a romantic setting, people shipped you?!
✰ you were flustered at the art and at xiao’s reaction to it, he was blooming red as he stuttered his way through the clip
Tumblr media
✰ the entire twitter timeline was in flames and you were drowning in the attention, not sure what to do with the increasing amount of subscribers you were receiving
✰ you were scrolling through the trending tag #XIAOYN, swallowing down your nerves as you saw more and more fanart of you two and edits of every time you mentioned xiao and vice versa you almost choked when you saw him in your dms
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✰ you instantly tweeted in shock when he followed you back, and how could you not?! you were ecstatic at the thought of xiao wanting to collaborate with you
✰ you were a tad bit scared to talk to him in person though
Tumblr media
✰ you both texted a time and date to meet up, making sure you were both free of classes and exams. what you didn’t expect was for him to make conversation with you up until the date for you two to meet up arrived
✰ it was a little flirty, but you just thought you were looking too deep into it. xiao was just being friendly!
✰[a collection of your texts the past week]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
art: heehoocoffee twt
✰ when the day finally comes for you two to meet you’re a bundle of nerves, sweating through your shirt as you ring the bell on his door
✰ you were ashamed to admit you had to hype yourself up for five minutes before pushing the button.
✰ it doesn’t help that he’s looking as put together in his videos when he opens the door to greet you
✰ “it’s nice to finally meet you,” he drawls, gesturing you inside. you tried not to gawk as you followed him to his filming room, coming up with things to say once the conversation picked up again as you followed him like a lost puppy
✰ but you didn’t have to worry about awkward silence because once you both sat down and the cameras flicked on your personalities meshed together well
✰ xiao was on the quieter side, so you took it upon yourself to do most of the talking while xiao carried you throughout the game. you shared a laugh whenever either of you died or when you made a comment on some of the more unhinged dialogue
✰ it was some of the most fun you’ve had and after an hour you guys wrapped the video up, but continued to play together for a while. he joined your world and helped you finish some quests and you joined his to steal some of his plants. you even visited the heart island together <3
✰ and afterwards, just like xiao had promised, you both went out for dinner together. it felt an awful lot like a date, he offered to pay and pulled out your chair. he even called ahead for reservations. if that wasn’t enough even the waiter assumed you two were a couple from your matching outfits and asked for a photo after realizing who xiao was.
✰ even if it wasn’t an official date, you felt a coil in your stomach pull tautly whenever your name was said from his lips, it was addicting.
Tumblr media
✰ the video was posted a few days later and it was instantly trending #1 and stirred commotion on twitter and tiktok, edits of you two laughing and looking at each other went viral and you couldn’t help but save all of them
✰ you two continued to text and he’d always request to join your world if you were both online at the same time, a facetime request appearing right after so you didn’t have to use the glitchy chat option
✰ constant nights of abandoning your homework to stay up gaming with him became a routine
✰ you two continued to do collabs consistently for a few months and you couldn’t fight back the crush you had, choosing to ignore it rather than pursue
✰ your feelings went unsaid, even if sometimes it seemed like they were reciprocated. but maybe that was just you seeing what you wanted to see.
✰ that was until a few months into your friendship something slipped out of your mouth as you went to end a stream with him
✰”this was fun but i have to go now,” you pouted at your camera as your chat spammed frowning emojis, you scheduled your fans to raid xiao’s stream before giving them a wave, “bye xiao, love you!” and by the time you ended the stream you’d realized what you’d done
✰ xiao’s stream was still going and he went frozen for a second, the chat was asking him if his connection was lost but he shook his head. you were this close to throwing your keyboard across the room when xiao picked up his phone, typing something in. your phone starting ringing…
✰ “are you honestly going to leave without letting me say goodbye?” xiao asked, looking at the camera as he talked to you over the phone. the chat went wild with emotes
✰ “sorry…” you weakly mumbled into the phone as you tried to not look at your screen. it was flustering.
✰ xiao turned off his microphone, making sure his stream couldn’t hear him before he continued, “i love you too, y/n.” he quietly spoke, almost as red as you, “didn’t think i’d have to confess that in front of millions of people for you to realize it.”
✰ he ended the stream soon after and you both stayed on call for an hour, circulating around the question before you both made it official. which ofc course means changing your twitter bio
Tumblr media
a/n: hope you enjoyed! editing these photos was fun even tho i ran out of room lol

✧ ۫ 𑄼ల۫  ۪ sfw xiao boyfriend headcanons
because he‘s a lil honey bunch sugar plum 🍀
genre: fluff, gn! reader, sharing kisses, he's struggling, reassurances, xiao‘s clingy
Tumblr media
+ ˚ quality time and doing his eyeliner for him
well, xiao needs you close, all the time, your body soothes his skin and loosens his tensed up muscles, it‘s so calming he truly cannot believe it but the moment your soft fingerpads rule on his rough skin, he can finally rest greatly.
as a matter of fact, whenever you do his eyeliner for him, xiao beckones you to sit on his lap.
at first when you suggested to draw it on for him, xiao was more or less flustered and unsure, he doesn‘t want to be a bother but the moment you gently held onto his face to apply the liquid, he found comfort on your tenderness.
besides, it was a win-win situation for him, wasn‘t it?
first, he doesn‘t have to do it himself and second, you‘re so close to him, so warm and soft, he simply cannot stop watching your face slightly tense from concentration.
how you cradled and handled his skin, as if he was made out of the finest, most sensitive material in all of teyvat, operating with great caress.
it’s safe to say that it‘s difficult to you as well, to somehow focus with xiao‘s golden eyes piercing and watching you that intently, gifting you a faint sweetness of a smile.
+ ˚ being vulnerable with each other
eventually, the irrational, darkened thoughts in xiao‘s mind will plague him like an incurable disease, a current of parasites eating him from within, inch by inch, until nothing was left to gnaw on.
at this point xiao‘s expression will change to something haunted and terribly wounded, the air in his lungs heightened and hitching within every newly taken breath in.
for that, you have to be patient. He insists he was okay, yet it's not hard to guess that it was evident he wasn't.
in that, he wouldn't speak much, less than he already did in the first place and keep himself sheltered, xiao doesn't want you to see him in such, weak and disgusting light. he loathed himself very much right now, it brought him to tears which wouldn't fall.
and no matter how many times you tried to get him to open up, in the beginning of your relationship he will not talk nor say anything but a simple "i am fine".
to give him enough space and time was key. there was no victory to be received if you'd urge him to do something he was uncomfortable with it, unfamiliar and embarrassed about.
at this you have to tell xiao that regardless of it all, you will remain where you are and he knew where to find you.
as your emotional bond continues to grow, he will gradually come back and speak, not much, just a bit, reaching his hand out for you to take it as you dwelled in each others warmth together on a cold night in wangshu inn.
the sheer fact that he made an effort to even seek you out despite it all was everything you needed to know.
xiao had it hard and difficult, yet after a while even he will gradually open up and tell you about his worries, the painful suffering he endured and the scaring sensation whenever he got too close to you, whenever he was terrified to hurt the love of his life.
+ ˚ getting used to your touch
to add to the difficulties of the previous point, xiao will admit that your touch might be much easier to get used to than talking about his feelings and concerns.
in the first instance, you will take his rough hand into yours, tracing a single finger over the silent scars on his teared skin.
xiao will shiver, but you carried on with comforting circles on his flesh. his adams apple will bob harshly at every swallow when you placed his hand on your chest at last, on where your heart was located.
in midst of it all, his eyes were wide and glowing, focused on your faint heartbeat and archons, it made him want to protect you even more. it sounded so fragile and tiny underneath his palm.
his free hand you held onto too, intertwining your fingers and keeping him close, relaxing on each other.
it is easy to lose himself in you, to melt into you and seek you close. He was an overly clingy boyfriend, yet he was also oblivious to said fact.
but you did not mind it, his unwavering attention on you was flattering and made your heart flutter with consuming love.
xiao needed nothing but the best and you were here to give it to him, he slightly wiggled himself out of your hold to take your hand into his fully, drawing you closer to his lips to place a soft kiss on each of your knuckles.
one, two, three and four, savoring each kiss and worshipping your person alone.
+ ˚ conclusion and his karma
at last, you will watch his golden eyes and he will oblige to your gaze, the vulnerability laced around them was clear, xiao wanted to be good at this, to be a boyfriend that would make you happy and fulfilled.
even though he wasn't the greatest in searching for help, nor accepting it in the first place, he was ready to come clean with his emotions to you.
yes, it will take time, quite an impressive amount at that but he learned to trust you, after all you were there, right now, aiding him with his karma and handing him enough time to get comfortable with the newfound passion he experienced with you together as one.

Possess (Xiao)
Tumblr media
TAGS: Xiao/Dragoness!reader, jealousy, dirty talk, smut, drabble Ao3 ver.
“Your persistence is as admirable as it is aggravating. Don’t you have any other unfortunate soul to target?”
The yaksha’s low, irritated voice didn’t perturb you a single bit. Rather, it only seemed to spur you on even more as you leisurely circled him, molten gold orbs glinting with mirth and a hint of possessiveness.
Arriving at a whole new world was daunting to say the least, especially since this world was filled with both powers and dangers alike. You were simply fortunate enough to be transported here within your game avatar's body, including ALL her powers and items. However, waking up in an unfamiliar place by your lonesome can make even the most level-headed person feel so lost.
You were simply lucky that a passing antisocial adepti spotted you and offered his assistance, albeit acting surly and taciturn the whole time he begrudgingly accompanied you to the nearest safe haven, Wangshu Inn to be precise.
“But Xiao...you know you’re my favorite person in all of Teyvat”
There is no shame to be found in your eyes nor your movements as you slip your arms around his slim waist from behind. If you weren’t wearing a glamour right now, your reptilian tail would have been wagging right now as you unabashedly press your body against the male’s. So close that you could smell the scent of earth and nature that eternally clung to him, even that small hint of copper underneath wasn’t unknown to you.
Xiao stiffened instinctively, almost summoning his lance but managing to stay his hand when he both heard and felt rumbling from you. You were...purring?
“Only you deserve ALL my attention”
The yaksha decidedly chose not to pay attention to the warmth of his body as you press the full softness of your own body against his own battle-worn one, the stiff peaks that decorated your plush bosom making themselves known through the irritatingly thin clothes you wore that almost seemed like a second skin. (You yourself always had a higher temperature unlike normal humans so of course he felt hot and not because you affected him in any sort of way of course!).
You’ll be the death of him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Why is it that the moment I turn my eyes away, you’re already entertaining that Fatui mongrel?” Writhing shadows enveloped the adepti’s form as a malevolent green glow bathed his body. “Are you so starved for attention that as soon as any willing male appears before you, you’re practically ready to spread your legs for them?”
Laid against the green grass with only the remnants of your tattered clothes to cushion you, you were savagely taken by the jade-haired warrior beneath the light of the moon and stars. Despite the tranquility of your surroundings, there is only desperation and a primal urge to possess you in every snap of Xiao’s hips as he ground his cock into your warm, wet, and welcoming cunt. The tip knocked at the very entrance to your womb with how fiercely he plowed into you, a small bulge slightly poking from your stomach each time he shoved the full length of his dick into your pussy.
“If I truly allowed myself to release ALL my inhibitions...I’d have tied you down already for all eternity. I’d breed your womb again and again until my seed takes and you’d bear all my young”
Maybe it was the light of the moon above, but Xiao’s own gold hues were brightened by an unearthly light as they bore into your own. His perpetually frowning face was replaced by a feral snarl, possessiveness leaking out of the yaksha in waves as he fucked you into the ground like an animal. The mating press he had you in ensured that you were as close to one another as possible, allowing you barely half a second of respite before he plunges his heavy girth up to the hilt.
“Regardless if it was merely a ploy to gather my attention...I hope that you know there is no more escape from me. Our fates will now forever be intertwined until time itself ceases to exist.”
little drabble based on the scene where bosacius paints on alatus' (xiao's) face hehe
Tumblr media
"who did this?" silence fell across the open space. all chatter died down as he stepped forward, glaring at each and every one of you gathered in a circle. golden eyes surveyed the area, lingering on each one for a second before his eyes narrowed and they fell upon you again.
"it was you, wasn't it?" alatus growled, holding up his hand to show smudged black ink. you bit your lip as you looked up to his face. a black circle surrounded his left eye and there were streaks across his left cheek.
"no! it wasn't me, i promise!" your voice sounded higher and you covered your mouth so as to not let him see the laughter that was bubbling up. it was no use. alatus lunged towards you as you scrambled backwards, laughter spilling out as he fell atop of you, his hands pinning you down as he scowled.
you could hear the others laughing at you and you couldn't help but join. "alatus, i swear, it wasn't me!" your faces were inches apart, and though he was glaring down at you, there was no hatred in those glowing golden eyes of his. he refused to move, even if he believed that it wasn't you, not wanting to push himself up and have to face the others who he was sure were already cooing at the position the two of you were in.
"i told you he would think it was them first." he hears bosacius snicker, so quietly he almost didn't hear it. "it was too easy for me." he narrows his eyes and turns his head slightly but his attention is brought back to you when you start laughing again and press your hands to his toned chest so you can sit back up. he lets you do so, waiting until bosacius opens his mouth again.
"aren't the two of you cute!" alatus ignores the heat on his cheeks as he pushes himself to stand and does his best to glare at the others. he knows there's no way for him to look intimidating with ink all over his face, but for the sake of his pride, he believes that he's scowling menacingly at them.
they're all struggling to hold in their laughter. indarias and bonanus lean in close together, whispering something he can't be bothered to hear. he knows its not them, they like to sit back and watch the trouble unfold. menogias is usually the level headed one, and though he too is trying to cover up his laughter, he wouldn't be the one to do this. which leaves bosacius, ever the troublemaker.
"it was you wasn't it." he directs his words at the purple yaksha, who sputters out nonsense. too easy.
"get back here!" even alatus can't stop the grin that begins to grow across his face. he'll deal with bosacius first, and then he'll come back to you.
After the battle against Osial and urged on by Paimon, Lumine tracks Xiao down to confess her feelings, only to find him on a family outing with you, his wife and your son.
Xiao ♡⊹˚  Couldn’t have known [SFW]
Tumblr media
fem. reader (3rd person) ; don't know whether to tag this as angst, or fluff, or both??? It just depends on the perspective I suppose. Xiao and reader are married. Cw. for unrequited feelings of a third party.
5k words.
notes. Poor Lulu, it's okay babygirl I'll try to do you justice on another drabble in the future <\3. But at the same time I got to give Xiao some semblance of peace with wholesome family time so I suppose I can take the heartbreak. Hope you enjoy ✧˖°.
Tumblr media
The wounds within the nation were still fresh. The Harbor was on edge, its people doing the best they could to return to everyday life as part of the destroyed homes had already begun reconstruction. If before the battle with Osial the fatui were at the very least viewed as neutral, they were now deeply hated by every Liyue citizen, the organization being completely shut off from the outside as some people even resorted to physical violence as a response for their involvement with the tragedy.
Suffice to say, Liyue was still shaky. Their God was gone as far as most knew, and the Qixing was the top of the food chain now. And despite having averted the crisis fairly well, most couldn't help but wonder, would they be able to protect them as well as Rex Lapis had? Some were hesitant, whilst others clung with the hope that it would be smooth sailing from there. After all, even if their God was gone, his adepti still remained, as well as the now hailed Hero of Liyue. They would be safe.
Lumine hadn't quite gotten used to the flair of being hailed a hero still - after all, her primary reason for being there was to look for her brother, simply having stumbled upon more chaos that she was shoved into without her being fully aware. Even still, she knew better than to have turned her back on an entire nation on the verge of crisis, and so she had stayed and stuck around far longer than what she would've initially liked. It wasn't all for naught, though - she met new wonderful people, got to know more of the world of Teyvat and its customs and cultures. She got to hone her skills and become stronger, as well as, as her gut told her, take a step forward towards the truth.
Among the many she had met, one had seemingly stuck around in her mind - Xiao, the lonesome Conqueror of Demons that would mostly stick around Wangshu Inn. Admittedly he'd been rather curt at first, yet it soon became obvious he carried more on his shoulders than what he would admit. And on that, as well as other things, Lumine found herself relating to him. It was slow progress, but Xiao had begun to open up as well, leaving her small cracks from which she could peek into. It was as though he was testing the waters, seeing if she would find him repulsive or unapproachable. He wasn't, not to her.
He had been there for her, during the confrontation with Osial. It had been perhaps one of the only times thus far on her journey where Lumine had truly felt like she wouldn't make it, were it not for the aid of her allies. It had been a day filled with raw emotions, amplifying them beneath the surface and under the obvious threat from which they had lived through. And it was only after the fact, when she had taken some time to rest and ponder, that the emotions began to set, carving themselves into stone.
"I think it's quite obvious what needs to be done." Paimon had placed her hands on her hips, hovering close to her face as she gazed upon her with narrowed eyes.
"Oh? What are you talking about, Paimon?" Lumine feigned ignorance, an eyebrow being raised as she made a last ditch effort to avoid the topic.
"Don't play dumb with me, missy! I know you very well, you know?" The fair haired fairy pointed her finger to her, before shaking her head. "It's obvious you're head over heels over the lonesome adeptus Xiao. And the last thing I wanna see, is my companion regret not confessing her true feelings."
Well, she had to give it to Paimon. She could be simply and only driven by food, sure, but she had a more keen eye than what Lumine had really thought.
The traveler huffed with a weak laugh, her head shaking. "No no, I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not?!" She seemed utterly flabbergasted. "Wait, you're not even denying it-"
"What if I make him uncomfortable?" She thought aloud, eyebrows furrowing. "Or, let's say that I do manage to confess. What then? I can't expect him to leave Liyue behind."
"No one has to leave anything behind. We can always periodically return to Liyue Harbor while we travel!" Her flying companion suggested, her head nodding at her own proposal.
She watched as Lumine seemed to consider that idea, a small sigh leaving her lips as she pondered over her options. As a seasoned adventurer, she had to, along her journey, learn to always consider the less favored outcomes an option. Were she to be rejected, she and Paimon would simply have to haste their move to their next nation… Yet, the idea of it not ending like that… It alone seemed to be enchanting enough for her to, in the end, decide to go forward with Paimon’s proposal.
“It’ll go well, trust Paimon on this one!” She kicked her smaller feet in the air, her eyes sparkling with great hope for her companion. She helped Lumine pack before they were to head off to Wangshu Inn, the hailed Hero of Liyue feeling nervous for the first time in a little while. “There’s no way it won’t end well, Lumine! After all, you’re downright perfect!”
She couldn’t have known. Paimon couldn’t have known, either. It honestly was something even most adepti didn’t know of - it was something Xiao kept close to his chest, only a select few knowing about that side of him. He cared naught for finding a partner, never had in the eons he’d existed for. He saw no need.
That was, until he had met [F/N]. A mere mortal, yet one he loved with his whole being.
It had been rough to come to terms with his emotions. It had been rocky, a steep climb for  [F/N] to be allowed in; yet somehow, she had managed to reach the peak, finding at the end of her journey a side Xiao would only reveal to her - it was always present, in the way he gazed upon her, his golden eyes reflecting the warm sunset that would bathe them each dusk that she visited him in Wangshu Inn. It was always present, in the way his gloved hand would hold her own, delicately, almost afraid to break her as if she were made of porcelain. He wasn’t one to outwardly express his emotions, yet the silence with him had felt comforting. It felt like a safe haven, Xiao finally finding a semblance of peace each time [F/N] would bless him with her presence.
He was very well aware of the fleeting existence mortals led. It broke him each time he thought about it, yet, as [F/N] had asked him of, he’d always tried to think instead of the present. Even still, it was always something that had been at the back of his mind, ever since he’d finally accepted his emotions, and allowed her into his life. It gave him all the more reason to ensure she was safe, that only those who he could truly trust knew of her existence - for, when he couldn’t be there, they would ensure she wasn’t in danger.
And this worry only doubled when [F/N] had confided in him that she, indeed, was carrying his child. Well, it had certainly been a surprise, and Xiao… He at first panicked. He had never thought about ever loving someone, let alone creating a little one alongside another. It took a lot of talking, a lot of gentle touches and hugging. But in the end, like everything else with his [F/N], Xiao knew it would be okay.
On that lovely day, [F/N] and their youngling had waited for him by the Inn, their usual room ready and waiting for them. By that point, the boy was only two, yet he already showed so much life and personality that it never failed to knock the wind out of his father. As per usual, Smiley Yanxiao would, exclusively, allow [F/N] access to his kitchen so she could cook food for her little boy, as well as her husband who would be arriving later as he’d promised - why? Her almond tofu was simply the best, and whenever Xiao could, he’d rather eat hers than any other chef’s. And who was she to deny her diligent beloved, who worked tirelessly to defend their land? When compared to all the terrifying work and responsibilities Xiao held, a simple dish felt like child’s play. Yet he always, always cherished such an act so deeply, it felt like it was the other way around.
[F/N] had already fed their son before Xiao had arrived, gently holding him in her arms as they walked calmly across the Inn’s upper balcony. Patting his back with rhythm, her eyes peered out into the distance, the wind blowing ever so gently across her face, eyes shimmering with the light of the sun as all was peaceful. She hadn’t even heard Xiao arrive, his figure simply appearing on the wooden rails near her, his body perfectly balanced on the small surface as his mask dissipated before either of them could see him. His face, previously scowling with the horrors he regularly faced, immediately softened upon landing on the two people he loved the most, spear neatly placed away as his feet finally touched the balcony.
“Qingxin…” He called out his beloved, watching as she turned around with the same amount of love and excitement she would always display whenever he arrived. It never failed to melt his heart.
“Xiao, you’re back!” [F/N] sighed in relief, eyes softening as she hastily made her way to him. Meeting halfway, he carefully embraced her, foreheads touching as he felt his weary body finally relax. “Welcome home, my love.”
“...Thank you.” He murmured, his lips brushing against the top of her head as his hand rested on her lower back. His words felt heavier than a simple sign of gratitude, one that ran deeper and meant far more. One that [F/N] understood far too well, but didn’t dwell on. Instead, she smiled his way, her arms still carrying their bundle of joy with care.
“Papa!” Their young boy chirped out, his attention clearly gravitating towards his father. His little arms were already stretching out, yearning for Xiao to hold him after being apart for a long while. And while Xiao always showed hesitancy to, he never found the strength to deny his little son.
Carefully the adeptus picked his son up, the softest smile making its way to his pale face as his golden eyes gazed at his son’s. [F/N] had always stated how his son was a mirroring image of himself, and with each passing day, Xiao could deny that reality less and less. His hair color was the same deep dark green, streaks of a lighter tone along his tiny locks. His cheeks, chubby, hid away the smallest little pointed teeth that resembled his own. His eyebrows, never furrowed like his father’s, displayed the same shape and sharpness. The only thing he seemed to have picked from his mother had been the color of his eyes, the same beautiful shade Xiao could drown himself in - and even still, the eye shape had been taken from him, the same little diamond pupils staring back at him with the wonder and adoration of a pure child. His child. He still could hardly believe it.
“It’s okay, love. Here, just like this…” [F/N] gently coaxed him, noticing how his arms trembled the slightest - mostly due to exhaustion, but always partially to anxiety. After all, what if he tainted his little boy? What of his karmic debt? Everyday he prayed such a thing would never happen, hoping he would develop some kind of resistance due to his bloodline; yet even still, it was always a possibility.
His little arms flailed around, practically leaping for Xiao’s embrace as he hugged his neck. Xiao couldn’t help but let out the quietest of laughs, holding him with more confidence under his wife’s guidance. His eyes landed on the vajra necklace he would always have around his neck, one of the many religious items he’d given the two of them in order to ward off evil when he himself wasn’t around. In truth, [F/N] did it more to ease her husband’s mind than anything, but that was something she’d take to the grave - she knew she was safe even when he didn’t stand next to them, but then again, she would never be one to go against his wishes; they were never many, anyway.
“You must be tired. Here, come sit. I made you your favorite.” [F/N] smiled his way, signaling for him to sit at the table they would usually take. Without hesitation he followed suit, his eyes following his wife’s movements as she presented him his dish.
“Thank you, qingxin.” Xiao murmured, his eyes softening at the sight as he could finally feel his heavy soul at ease. He took his seat, carefully shifting his son to sit on his lap whilst securing him with one arm around him - more of a precaution than anything, for the simple fact his little one did behave wonderfully most of the time.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to hold him while you eat?” [F/N] smiled, humored by the absolutely endearing sight of her husband holding their little one. The way his cheeks gained the faintest hint of color didn’t escape her gaze, yet she knew better than to embarrass her poor little adeptus.
“No need, I can eat like this just fine.” He responded.
Or in other words, No thank you, I really want to hold our little boy like this. [F/N] already knew her lover very well despite his attempts at keeping himself at arms length for the longest time, so reading in between the lines wasn’t difficult. All she could do was nod her head, a delightful smile across her lips as she sat with them, pleasant conversation filling the air. How had their day been, where they had gone, who they’d been with… Xiao listened to it all, his leg bouncing gently, up and down, up and down, his child content with the rhythmic movement as his tiny hands rested against his arm.
The sky was still painted in the loveliest strokes of oranges and blues upon the pair arriving at their final destination. The journey had been otherwise uneventful, only further filling Lumine with the slightest creeping anxiety as the tall Inn was seen in the distance. Surely, she had figured, Xiao would be there. It was the only place she knew he’d have any sort of roots in, and given the fact she dared not abuse her permission for calling upon him, she figured paying a visit was the next best option.
“Come on, that’s the Wangshu Inn in the distance!” Paimon pointed, her smaller body flying across the air as her friend picked up the pace as well. Her stomach already rumbled after their trip, and truth be told, the little fairy already planned to grab herself a few plates whilst watching from the distance the scene unfold.
“Hey, wait up Paimon!” The young woman sighed, her scarf blowing against the wind as they hastily came closer and closer to the structure.
There were very few guests aside from the regulars, of which the owners could count with their fingers. Verr Goldet was finishing up taking care of a few details at the front desk before she heard a set of steps rushing up her stairs, her eyes gluing to the entrance of their Inn before she finally spotted a familiar figure.
“Ah, Lumine, Paimon! What a surprise to see you once more.” She smiled kindly, her hands resting in front of her figure as the blonde woman caught her breath. “And what brings you to the Wangshu Inn tonight? Seeking to book a room?”
“Hi miss Verr-” Lumine smiled amidst the heavy breathing, both her and Verr being cut off with Paimon who happily interjected.
“Hi boss lady! Is Xiao back yet?”
“For the last time, I am not ‘boss lady’.” Verr shot her a look, to which Paimon silently apologized for. “And… May I inquire as to why you’d like to see him at such a time?”
Usually, Verr Goldet wouldn’t be one to deny them the knowledge of the Conqueror of Demons’ whereabouts; after all, they were friends and allies. However, given the company he currently had, the woman couldn’t help but wish to avert any unwanted visitors to their family time. Not to mention, she herself, as well as her husband, had gotten quite protective of [F/N] and their little one - as if, by some strange mortal bond Xiao couldn’t quite understand, they had considered them their extended family.
“Oh… Are we intruding on something?” Paimon asked, her voice growing softer.
“Well, it’s just that, as you know, the Conqueror of Demons is a very busy adeptus.” That much wasn’t a lie. “He’s expressed his wish for visits to be limited for the time being, lest something be really urgent.” …That however, was something he himself hadn’t requested of her.
“Oh, if that’s the case-” Lumine, being understanding as she was, attempted to avert the situation. After all, they could always ask for some of his time the following day.
“It kind of is.” Paimon however, once more, chimed in. “After all, we came all the way from Liyue Harbor for this!” She was now planting her hands on her hips once more. “Besides, we won’t take long.”
Verr Goldet’s expression didn’t falter, though she was rather ticked over how they seemed to not catch the hint. “Well, even still-”
“He’s probably upstairs, isn’t he? If not we can always call on his name. Come on Lumine, up we go!”
“Hey, I’m talking to you!” The owner was practically left to speak to the wall as they were already up the flight of stairs, her eyes widened as she sighed in frustration. Hopefully, she prayed, it wouldn’t be a big ruckus; not that [F/N] would mind, ever. More so from Xiao’s end.
Being practically dragged up to the balcony by the suddenly overtly strong Paimon, Lumine nearly trampled on her own feet as she could feel her heart palpitate stronger and louder. The heat that rose to her face couldn’t be hidden for any longer, and all she could hope was that Xiao was there, and that all would go well. Why was she so… Nervous? She’d fought against many monsters, defeated abyss mages, aided in the saving of Dvalin and the defeat of Osial, yet how was a simple opening of her own heart causing such a ruckus within her?
The husky voice of Xiao was unmistakable as they finally reached the balcony, her head turning to her right as she took a deep breath. He seemed… To be calmer, at peace. His voice softer while still speaking in the usual tone she had grown used to. Paimon let go of her hand as she flew ahead, silent for long enough until the adventurer was able to pick up another voice - an unknown one, being a soft and female giggle.
“Xiao! Xiao, you in here?” Paimon called out, rounding up the balcony in search of the adeptus.
In the table in which they stood, the Conqueror of Demons seemingly froze, his eyebrows immediately lowering as a smallest scowl reappeared on his face. He held his child a little tighter, his head turning to gaze to where the known voice had come from. [F/N] followed suit, her head turning before landing on her husband once more, curious over anything else whilst silently inquiring him who it could be - after all, he seemed to know who the voice belonged to. And in most other circumstances, he wouldn’t exactly mind to hear the talkative pixie nor her friend, yet when it came to such sacred time with his family… He couldn’t help but feel his mood grow sour.
“Oh, there you are-!” Paimon chirped whilst Lumine came right behind her. However, she stopped in place, no longer approaching him. The voice died on her throat before she gazed around, her colorful eyes skipping through the two unknown people.
“...You two.” Xiao called out, his body having already turned in his chair while remaining sat still. His hands were holding his son in his lap, who too eyed them still, though his carefree expression deeply differed from the seemingly annoyance Xiao displayed. “What’s the matter? Is everything alright?”
“Ah, you’re… Accompanied…” The white haired guide seemed to have suddenly grown embarrassed, her eyebrows furrowing softly as she felt even smaller under the intense gaze the Conqueror of Demons sent their way. “...S-Sorry, we didn’t know-”
“Didn’t Verr Goldet tell you?” Xiao had let out without thinking much, his wife to his side softly muttering his name he cleared his throat. It was only then his face seemingly relaxed, gazing back at her for a mere moment.
“Are they your friends?” [F/N] smiled kindly, her hands extending briefly before taking their little boy into her arms once more.
“...Yes.” Xiao nodded his head. The way his beloved’s face lit up was enough to melt him away, finding it outright adorable how she seemed to always… Be happy, whenever he spoke of others he held in high regard. To him it was strange, how she apparently thought it was such a big deal.
“It’s alright, go and talk to them! We have the whole night ahead of us,” [F/N] warmly reassured him, while Xiao attempted to keep the pout from forming on his face. The last thing he wanted to do during his family time was have guests over, but since they probably had gone out of their way to get there… He didn’t want to cause a bad impression to [F/N], anyway. “We’ll stay here, since we don’t know if it’s something private. If not, just look our way and we’ll join you straight away!”
His boy seemed to agree with his mother’s statement, babbling on as they both watched Xiao hesitantly get up from his seat. The Adeptus calmly walked their way, his gaze somewhat sharper than what Lumine would’ve liked. Unlike Paimon, who was still somewhat oblivious, she had already begun to piece the puzzle together - the way he had glanced at that young woman, the way they had been sitting together, the way the little child looked so similar to him… It was difficult to think of any other possibilities.
It was difficult to keep oneself from breaking down at the realization.
“...Yes, Paimon, Lumine?” The traveler had been shaken out of her thoughts as his eyes bore into hers, patiently waiting for them to speak up.
“Hi Xiao,” Paimon took the lead upon Lumine taking longer to talk than what she would’ve guessed. “We didn’t know you had company, haha… So… Who are they?”
“...” It wasn’t as though Xiao himself was exactly bothered with Paimon’s general nosiness, more so he was annoyed they had been interrupted for seemingly meaningless banter. Here he was, thinking there was something wrong and his assistance was needed, actually getting up from the table where his family stood to greet them for nothing happening after the fact.
His head turned around to gaze back at his wife, who bounced her leg up and down slightly to amuse their son as he would usually like. Their eyes met, and with the softening way in which he looked at her, [F/N] understood everything was alright. It relieved her to know so, taking the moment to get up and hold their son before approaching them with a kind and sunny smile. Paimon and Lumine watched as they approached, the little youngling’s eyes scanning them before landing on the adeptus once more, refusing to look anywhere else after the fact. Up close, it was even more undeniable who exactly the little boy was, his hair color and shape exactly the same as Xiao’s, as well as his little brows who sported a much more relaxed expression.
“Hi! I’m [F/N]. Pleased to meet any friends of Xiao.” [F/N] spoke softly, introducing herself to the pair before her baby was wriggling in a vain attempt to jump out of her arms.
“Papa…” He shyly mumbled, his arms stretching in his direction as he seemingly didn’t give up in his pursuit of remaining in daddy’s arms.
Lumine couldn’t help but smile weakly, even as her heart wilted. The image before her was… Adorable, she couldn’t deny that. The way Xiao’s face gained color, embarrassed by the display of affection to a crowd as his significant other attempted hushing their son from interrupting them. And despite the utter shock she felt from not only realizing Xiao had a lover but also had already formed a family, she couldn’t help but glance at them still.
“It’s alright love.” Xiao murmured, the last word barely above a whisper as his cheeks were by that point the same shade of the jueyun chili. “Here, let me hold him.”
“Ah… Sorry. He really wants daddy time, huh.” [F/N] laughed softly, carefully letting go of the boy before his arms were wrapped tightly around his father’s neck, his face nuzzling against him as he hid his gaze from the strangers. The young woman turned to the pair, who remained quiet, an apologetic smile on her face. “I apologize, he can get quite shy around new people.”
“No, don’t worry about it…” Paimon let out in struggle, the cogs inside her head nearly visible as she was rather late to the party when it came to figuring out what exactly the relation was here.
“So,” Xiao broke the chit chat short, clearing his throat before attempting to be… More courteous. Not for himself, but for his wife. “Is there anything I can help you with? After all, you did call out my name.”
“Ah,” Suddenly Paimon remembered what the exact initial plan was, panicking inwardly as she floated rather awkwardly around Lumine. The adventurer, on the other hand, seemed outwardly calm, the forced smile on her face remaining. “Well, about that-”
“We just thought of passing by to bid our goodbyes,” Lumine finished it for her, leaving her companion quiet and Xiao somewhat surprised. “Since Liyue is stable now, we’re thinking of continuing our journey towards Inazuma.”
“...Oh, I see.” Xiao responded, tone quiet as he nodded his head gently. “Are you sure you’re ready to leave?”
“Yeah, it was… About time, anyway.” Lumine awkwardly laughed, her hand rubbing the back of her neck as she averted her gaze for a solid second. “We still have a lot of questions that need answering.”
[F/N]’s expression shifted to worry and sorrow, somewhat bummed that they wouldn’t join them for a little longer, or she wouldn’t exactly get to know personally those friends of her husband’s. More so, the concern on her face also extended further to Lumine, something in her gut telling her the young woman before her was hurting deeper than what appeared to be. Call it a woman's intuition.
“I see. Inazuma… You’ll be far away.” Xiao thought aloud, his arms shifting gently to ensure the comfort of his son as he seemed to calm down in his embrace, lulled to sleep by his husky voice. “Still, if you ever return and need any help, you know how to seek me out.”
“Please be safe out there.” [F/N] added, a soft smile ever present on her face before her gaze jumped between them. “Still, it’s getting late for you to begin your journey back… Won’t it be best to stay the night and leave in the morning?”
“No, we’ll be fine.” Lumine shook her head, the bitterness in her tongue being swallowed as she smiled [F/N]’s way. She couldn’t hold anything against the woman in front of her - she was being nothing but kind to them. “If we get to the Harbor by dawn, all the better.”
“Ah… Alright…” [F/N] understood, still thinking of ways to help them however she could. “Would you like for me to pack you some food, though? It’s a long way back.”
Xiao couldn’t help but glance his wife’s way, his gaze softening as the smallest smile rose on his lips. He simply couldn’t have enough of her, not ever, especially when she displayed the same caring nature that had broken down his walls in the first place.
Lumine however, only wanted to leave as soon as possible. “No, it’s alright thank you. We’ll be going now, yes Paimon? Goodbye Xiao, [F/N]. Stay safe.”
And before the floating pixie could even have a word on the matter, they were already descending the stairs, the young woman’s legs sending her flying as her mind blurred to a shapeless stain. Before she even realized they were already far from the Inn, Paimon’s soft tone of voice attempting to call her back as she nervously tried to apologize, try to cheer her up, try to distract her…
It wasn’t Paimon’s fault. Neither of them could’ve known, really. She’d suggested their visit in high hopes after all, it was alright. She would be alright. After all…
The way Xiao smiled so softly. The way he glanced at [F/N] in such a matter, the way he held the young boy with such care. He looked happy. He was happy. And even if it wasn’t with her… Lumine was sure one day, the sorrow would subside and substitute itself with happiness for him.
He deserved it all and more.
SAGAU Winged Creator
A/N: Two writings in one day?? Can be read as platonic or romantic, just a silly, goofy idea I has a while back.
Tumblr media
Sagau, winged creator and Xiao being messengers. Like, Ninguang needed a letter sent to Beidou and The Creator just jumping at the opportunity to really stretch their wings. Of course, Xiao - ever the protector - naturally worries about their safety. So in a cheeky tone, The Creator suggests that Xiao spread his wings and fly with them to deliver the letters.
Now, The Creator's wings are similar to an Albatrosses, meaning they can lock their wings and float along wind currents - however, our dearest Xiao cannot. Meaning halfway through the journey, while The Creator hasn't even broken a sweat, Xiao is almost, basically falling out of the sky.
Xiao is in complete denial about this however- insisting that he is fine and not to worry about him. The Creator- the all knowing little bastard, just kind of- plucks him out of the air and just starts carrying him.
Xiao proceeds to flip out, telling The Creator not to waste their energy, and that he doesn't need to be carried. The Creator smugly says "I haven't broken a single swear while you are basically falling out of the sky. Besides- you're seriously telling me that you don't want me to hold you oh so closely?".
One peak down at Xiao's face reveals that even though his face is turned away, his ears are a violent shade of red. One angsty huff of breath later and a timid voice says "...I suppose carrying me for a short while would be beneficial...".
After carrying Xiao the rest of the way (despite his insistent protests-) and delivering the letters, you notice that Xiao seems to be experiencing some back pains! Which are most likely due to him straining himself back in the air.
As the gracious and kind Creator you are, you strongly encourage basically force him to let you give him a back/wing massage. He strongly resists at first- "such menial labour is beyond you, Youe Grave!".
However, no one can resist the chance to get a massage by the one and only Creator for long and soon enough, Xiao has melted into the bed, making the most heavenly noises while you massage his back muscles and the muscles in his wings.
FIRST DATE WITH XIAO, WHERE YOUR quiet standoff-ish crush asks you out on a date.. how will this unexpected proposal end?
Tumblr media
Xiao asking you out was quite unexpected, he seemed closed off, in fact you were more then certain you would have to make the first move in this relationship. It was quite clear the two of you liked each other, with his swift glances in between halls, how he’d speak with you and strike a conversation with you almost always despite hating the idea of speaking with others so much, he always seemed to have something to talk about.. with you! This and many other signs, all led you to believe that he had feelings for you.. but imagining him to make a direct move was.. well far fetched to say the least.
So it was quite the surprise seeing Xiao’s flushed face, while he asked if he could speak to you alone, even then you didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary, until of course Xiao spoke out “Hey um— would you like to go out with me?”..
“Like a date?” you added, and you swore you could see his ears turn bright red, “Yes..  um.. Like a date!” His response was sweet, and some of his words came out as incoherent babbles, and you couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at his rather innocent reaction to the question, “Sure!”
Xiao offered to pick you up, but you preferred going there yourself, hoping to run some small errands before you got to the actual location at hand, as for his plans, he said he wanted it to be a surprise! So, the conversation ended with him handing you the location, and time.
You had gotten to the location about 15 minutes earlier than the time Xiao had given, yet Xiao was already there, he seemed to have been waiting for you.. Taking a moment to think, you decided to sneak up on him, quietly tapping his shoulder, startling him in the process.. “Waiting for someone?”
“You’re here” his voice was just above a whisper, but you could feel the excitement laced within them, “Yep! Where we goin’?” you asked, curious as to what he had planned for the two of you today, he didn’t even bother hinting or indulging your pleas, when you asked beforehand.
“Well I have um— a couple things prepared, if you don’t mind!” he asked, carefully picking his words not to sound way too excited, he didn’t want to alarm you.. “Not at all!”
“Then let’s get going”
The date started out simple, the two of your first stop was to the movies, nothing too surprising yet it was interesting to say the least, if anything you expected Xiao to pick out a horror movie, or maybe a thriller, however instead Xiao had picked a slice of life movie, and it was rather entertaining to say the least, in the middle of the movie you leaned down on his shoulder, and you could swear he froze in his tracks, as he stiffened in his place. You took a look at his face and saw his bright red face, “Are you good?” you whispered catching him of guard, “Y-yeah”
Then the two of you went to an arcade, where he showed you some of his favorite games there, he then taught you some of the cheats he learned to win more tickets, the two of shared many laughs, and you learned that Xiao was terrible at puns, yet you couldn’t help but laugh when you saw his genuine confident smile while he said some of the cheesiest of things.
The last stop of you both was at the park, before you head there Xiao picked up some take out for the two of you as you both walked throughout the area looking for a comfortable spot to sit down and eat. The sun was setting, and you were sure the date was going to come to an end soon.
You took another bite of your food, “I had a really great time today” you said, trying to break the awkward silence, though saying that with your mouth stuffed full was probably one of your worst ideas today, however it probably wasn’t the first time you embarrassed yourself this evening.
Xiao didn’t reply, he seemed out of it.., “Hey— um, do you mind if we do this again sometime?” you asked, it seemed fair that this time around you’d ask him out. “Huh?.. well.. um.” You took notice of how his ears turned slightly red at your question, “I’d love to” he finally responded.
The two of you spend the rest of the time talking about your plans, and just about anything really, enjoying the comfort of one another's presence.
leaving it all up, but going back in a different path. | xiao x gn!reader angst
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: part two you have all requestedd! part 1.
summary: xiao had left you for lumine, and now that he sees you happy with someone else that’s not him makes him feel.. guilty.
Tumblr media
- “Your regrets mean nothing to me.”
Ever since Xiao had left you for Lumine, He felt empty. To the point that he even started comparing Lumine to you.
Lumine felt somewhat angry with him.. who wouldn’t? I mean— comparing your lover with your ex right infront of her face? That’s straight up brutal.
Xiao was too used to the feeling and being with you that he didn’t realize he’s hurting Lumine. Which they’re relationship became a bit.. toxic.
Paimon has took note of it, comforting her long time traveling companion whenever she had the urge to vent at Paimon.
Paimon asked Xiao about it, and that’s when he realized you were just.. different. He was used to you the most and not Lumine, she was probably just some fling because he got tired of you, but now, oh now, he’s missing you.
Would you accept him? Xiao thinks. Would you still take him after all that he had done to you and your precious heart? Oh, how he wishes to see that smile on your face when you see him hugging you tight.
But, he was wrong.
He came back to Liyue and both you guy’s shared home, only to find out you were nowhere to be seen. No signs of you anywhere, Your shirts and clothes were gone. Xiao panicked, searching everywhere in Liyue Harbor to find you, even the mountains.
Yet, he couldn’t find a single trace of you anywhere.
On your perspective, You were happy with where you are. At Inazuma! with the traveller doing their job, the high security level of Inazuma had vanished.
You had gone aboard the fleet named “The Crux”, and met a certain, fair, white haired young man.
Kaedehara Kazuha was his name, you used to call him Kazuha for short but you both became close and now you call him Kazu.
Kazuha had a long term crush on you, Beidou says it’s “Love at first sight” but Kazuha thinks it was something else.
“We’re soulmates.. we definitely are.” Kazuha whispers, smiling faintly to himself while Beidou deadpanned.
The pirate sighed, face palming herself as she put her hand on Kazuha’s shoulder. “It’s not that.. It’s “Love at first sight” idiot.” Beidou corrected, Kazuha smiled softly at her and looked away.
“I still think we’re soulmates, bound by destiny.”
“Is this a poetic culture to believe in you stupid little—“
Ever since that conversation, Kazuha had always been his charismatic behavior at you. You told yourself you didn’t want another try at love, so why did you let him court you?
“Pleaseletmecourtyou[Name]!” Kazuha blurted out, the tip of his ears becoming red while his cheeks were definitely warm even though [Name] hadn’t even touched it.
[Name] blushed and cleared their throat, smiling warmly as they nodded, Kazuha flinched and smiled brightly, hugging [Name] while they had hugged back.
Kazuha courted you for 5 months, you answered him the same day Xiao had left you.. Coincidence, ain’t it not?
Beidou wanted to visit Liyue and Kazuha wanted you to come along, Beidou practically forced you since she didn’t want another round of Kazuha’s tantrums because of how you didn’t come with them to a certain nation.
“I love you, [Name]. Thank you for accompanying me.” Kazuha said lovingly which made your cheeks flush a beet red. You nodded and kissed his forehead while he smiled warmly.
Beidou sighed and looked at both of you. “Us, Kazuha. They are accompanying us.” Beidou corrected, raising an eyebrow at Kazuha while he had smiled nervously while rubbing the nape of his neck.
You chuckled at their interaction, leaning onto Kazuha’s shoulders while he took notice and shifted his eyes on you, He smiled softly and patted your head, telling you poets that he wrote or simply heard.
You both had arrived, seeing Liyue Harbor again gives you a wave of deja vu. The wind breezes through your hair while it gracefully gets blown away makes Kazuha love you over and over again, once more.
You both had explore the harbor and laughed with one another, checking out stalls and having fun.
Kazuha opened his eyes as he gazed up at the stars, smiling at himself as he turned his head to the side to look at you.
He smiled softly and hugged you by the side, nuzzling his face in your shoulder while you could only laugh softly.
While that happened, you felt like you were being watched or something, you looked around but decided it was nothing so you shrugged the thought off.
Xiao was passing by Mt. Hulao, thinking you might be there but his thoughts were cut short when he saw two figures resting and laying down the dried color grass.
He was about to shoo them off, but as he got closer he realized it was.. them.
You, the light to his world.. cuddling with another person, but not him.
Who was he? Did you replace him already? Thoughts consumed his mind as he looked at the sleeping figured, clenching his fists while he gritted on his teeth.
Xiao calmed himself down, seeing this made him almost burst into rage but he simply can’t do that.
He instead just looked down, one single tear dropped from his eyes that fell to the grass below.
He asked himself why the fuck did he choose Traveler, over you?
You were everything to him, he had just noticed now that you were the only person that could make his heart beat so fast, faster than his speed.
The way every kiss he received from you was so casual and normal, yet— He felt different emotions with it.
He regretted it all, yet, his regrets meant nothing to you.
But you, oh you?
You meant everything to him.
Xiao x Reader
Summary: Xiao has been experiencing some feelings that are new to him, and he only realizes what they are once it's already been said out loud. Luckily, those feelings aren't one sided.
Notes: I'm not really back into the Genshin fandom but here we are, writing this on a whim. I don't really like it if I'm being honest, but oh well. I haven't written anything decent in months now anyways, so hopefully you'll enjoy this short piece!!
CW: Mentions of Xiao's past, denial maybe? Not much really, just some unexpected hurt/comfort?? I don't know what this is.
═══════════ ☾ ═══════════
Xiao
☆ Xiao was not the biggest on affection, anyone who knew him could tell you that. Recently however, his view of the subject may have been swaying a bit. You were the one at fault, as once his fingertips brushed yours he only seemed to crave more. He had never felt a need to be close to someone before, so why now? He wasn't sure he could answer even given forever to think.
☆ Or maybe, it was just because being around you felt so euphoric. Every time Xiao looked at you a sense of comfort and warmth would fall over him, leaving him in a frantic mess to get away. It wasn't because he wanted to leave you, but he just couldn't place his finger on what he was feeling. He wasn't too keen on the idea of speaking to you about it, so he just kept quiet and hoped you didn't notice his odd behavior.
☆ Eventually the day he dreaded came as you approached him on the topic, "Xiao, you've been off lately. Is something wrong?" He could feel his heart drop to his stomach hearing your voice, his favorite sound, weaving words together he hoped he'd never have to hear. You knew Xiao didn't like you worrying about him, or at least he that's what he told you, but you just couldn't help seeing him so distraught without any explanation.
☆ For a moment he was silent, unsure of whether or not he should tell you of his thoughts. Perhaps it would burden you, but he knew very well by now that was just his own consciousness eating away at him. So, he allowed himself to cave in for once and told you everything you could've ever wished to hear. It was quick, and a lot of his words were jumbled together, but the meaning came across.
☆ Xiao visibly stopped after hearing himself voice his thoughts as a realization hit him like a pile of bricks. He was so obviously in love with you. It never really occurred to him, the idea of loving someone. After all that he had been through, it was understandable that he didn't associate himself with such topics.
☆ His eyes met yours in a haze, tears threatening to fall and you took a step closer. In his mind, this could go wrong in so many ways. For instance, what if you didn't feel the same? He didn't see how you could with his cold and dismissive demeanor. Then again, what if you did? That weighed a heavier fear than the instance of you hating him forever.
☆ In the cloudy heap of anxiety surrounding him, you raised your fingers to his pale cheek and wiped away stray tears he hadn't noticed were falling. A gentle smiled crossed your features, one he swore could've only been from an angel. "I love you too, Xiao," you spoke in a hushed tone, as if he would flee at the slightest mishap. That was the only time Xiao could be seen wrapping his arms around another, letting his emotions flow as they pleased.
Character(s). Xiao x GN!Reader, Scaramouche x GN!Reader, mentions of Nahida in Scaramouche’s part.
Synopsis. On moments that all they could think of was that they’re not deserving of your love, how will you tell them that they are?
A bit of angst but Fluff overall.
 Self-sabotaging Xiao, Harsh and mean Scara
MILD cursing, NOT PROOF READ
Soft Chars. They deserve the whole world.
Feeling so longing lately for these two because I keep seeing edits of them on Tiktok 😫 GIVE THEM TO ME AND I’LL SHOW THEM WHAT LOVE IS. COME ON!
Xiao
It’s the sixth time this week. Sixth time that you have called out his name and yet he’s nowhere to be found. Not once did he miss your calls before, and he makes sure that you’re well aware if he will be off to a long mission before disappearing for days, that’s why you’re worried sick for the yaksha.
But he’s always there. On the roofs, above the cliffs, behind the trees— he’s there upon seconds of your every call, making sure that you’re alright and not in any grave danger. He promised that he will be there at the moment you utter his name, and he will be, trust me. Just not before your eyes.
He’s decided to put an end to whatever it is in between the two of you. The relationship that you’ve been saying in the past few months is just an excuse for him to indulge in your touch and comfort, an excuse for him to see you everyday without guilt and longing. It doesn’t benefit you, it’s only for his own good to hold and look at you in short distance. At least that’s what he thought, because there’s nothing good when it comes to him, and you? You’re everything to him. 2,000 years of fighting and killing, and yet only now he’s glad for his skills because he can protect you.
And that is why he’s gonna keep you away from his selfish desires. He can’t let his karmic debt corrupt you, he can’t let the danger that lingers in his life reach out to harm you, he can’t be the reason why you’re hurt. Xiao will not let it happen.
But so will you. You’ve asked Verr Goldet one afternoon about your lovers whereabouts, and she told you that he’s been coming home late than usual this past days, as if avoiding an interaction with anyone, as if avoiding interaction with you. No, you’re not going to let it slide. If he’s not in love with you anymore, then you at least deserve an explanation, right?
Xiao didn’t expect you to be there, sitting at his bed, in the dead of the night. Eyes piecing his golden ones the moment he entered the room. He wanted to teleport out, to go anywhere without you because no, he can’t lose his resolve now. But he can’t even move an inch, mesmerized by your gaze. Archons, he knows that if you open your arms and call out to him, he will crash into you. Millenia of strengthening and hardening his heart only to be crushed down by a second of your hug. Unfair.
“What are you doing?” you broke the silence first, giving him a chance to say what you want to hear, that he’s just busy and he will not abandon you. But of course, the universe find it lovely to hear shattered hearts echoing.
“You’re not supposed to be here” the adeptus muttered, averting his gaze anywhere but you. Scared that you will see how happy he is to see you eye to eye.
Your heart tugged; tears threaten to fall. Oh, so he’s done with you now?
Head hung low, eyes dedicated to the floor you whispered your acknowledgement. Remorse, regret, and even a bit of hate plays in your voice “Fine. I guess I shouldn’t have bothered knowing you in the first place. I hate falling in love with you.”
You should’ve have seen how fast his head whipped at you. Eyes tender and glistening. No, please don’t say that. Getting to know you is the best thing that has ever happened to him all throughout his ridiculously long life, and to hear that you regret it? His heart rampaged in his chest, and he can feel his hands shaking at the thought of not knowing you.
You steal a glance at him for one last time, and what you saw added turmoil to your now chaotic emotions.
If he doesn’t want you anymore, then why the fuck is he crying? His porcelain face, so gentle yet stoic, now adorned with tears that reached his chin. Mouth slightly agape as if words are aching to spill out, and his eyes, looking at you and begging. But begging for what?
You can feel your chest tightening a bit more, and you think of the only that could make the both of you alright.
“Xiao,” you dragged your feet towards his direction, arms reaching out to catch his neck, placing his head in the crook of yours “Why are you doing this?”
You heard him whimpered, his own arms finding its way around your waist. Ahh, he hates the fact that he’s melting into your touch again. How come that he’s an adeptus and you’re a mortal and yet you have this power over him?
“I don’t deserve you,” He started as you rubbed his back, easing the tense muscles. He missed this, he missed you. “I’m not deserving of whatever you’re giving me, of everything you’re giving me.”
You lifted his head and cupped his cheeks, staring straight right through his misty orbs.
“Listen to me—you can take my life, my love. You can take everything from me, and my only complaint is that I’m not enough.”
He shook his head, attempting to disagree, but you beat him to it.
“I love you. And I know I’m selfish but I want to spend my punny lifetime with you. Please, let me.”
Warmth spreads through his body as he heard your words. Warmth that’s always present whenever you’re around, And as you seal the night with a passionate kiss, he knows that this feeling will be stronger that anything else from now on.
Scaramouche
“What are they doing here?” The way the lad before you sneered as he asks the Dedro Archon made your stomach drop a little. Now, you aren’t one of the softs, you wouldn’t be able to date the Wanderer if you are, but the way he looks at you makes your knees buckle and your eyes a bit misty.
“Now, now, Wanderer. They’ve taken the trouble to come and visit you. Please drop the mean.” Nahida reprimanded him, of which he returned with a tsk. The former then turned towards you and bid you a gentle goodbye, hoping that whatever you’re planning will work because she herself can’t take it anymore how the Wanderer being extra mean for the past few days.
And now, you’re left alone with the said mean guy. He’s looking at you as if disgusted by the sight, lips in a frown and eyes sharp. “What do you need?” His question came out icier than expected, earning a flinch from you. He regrets the action right away but kept his composure. He can’t lose it now after enduring it for weeks.
“You haven’t gone home for a while now. I just visit to see if you’re doing good.” You offered him a sheepish smile. He hates it, that’s not how you smile, that’s not how you should smile.
“Now that you’ve seen me doing good—better than ever, you may leave.”
You let out a dry laugh and attempted to joke about his particularly harsh words, but his next words irked something within you.
“Seriously (y/n). Your presence irritates me” he doesn’t mean it, of course. Oh, archons your presence is heaven to him. Everything is just better, if not perfect, if you’re around. Mellifluous, light, comforting—and that’s the more reason he has to distance himself from you. He can’t afford tainting every good thing in you.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?!” You exclaim seems to have taken him aback because he was silent for a moment, before returning your anguish with his own.
“My problem is you. You’re always clinging to me, going after me. You keep on nagging me. What? Can’t leave without a man now, (y/n)?” Now it was your turn to be shocked, you didn’t know that this is the way he feels about you, a baggage, a burden.
The hurt is vivid in your eyes, and heavens he felt like dying right there. Scara swiftly combed his indigo locks in frustration. He wanted to take it back, to tell you that it’s a lie, that he loves everything you do to him. The way you reach out to him every day, the way you call out his name even on trivial matters, the way you dotes on his necessities. But this is a must, so he doesn’t end up hurting you in the future.
He would rather see you happy and contented in the arms of someone else rather hurt in his. Although the thought alone sent him grasping for air.
“You’re so fucking selfish.” You turned to him, eyes going from hurt to a touch of hate. His chest tightens at the sight of tears streaming down your face. No, no, no. This isn’t supposed to happen. You should be happy; He’s doing this for you to be happy. So why in hell are you calling him selfish? At what part is he selfish?
“Shut up!” he roared, indigo orbs piercing to what’s already broken. “You have no idea what you’re talking about. You don’t know how much I’m working hard for you!”
“You’re working hard for me? This is you working hard for me? You’re blind! You’re blind and you're selfish!”
There’s an exchange of a few screams here and there. Both of you are hurt and broken because he decided that it is better to keep things to himself, thinking that it’ll only hurt him and not you. You’re not thinking straight as well. Yelling your heart out, hoping that it’ll wake up your lover, that he’ll realize that he’s so wrong for trying to dump you like shit.
Until he let go of that one phrase you always hear him say on random moments.
“I don’t deserve you!”
Now, the best thing to do in this moment is to hug him, reassure him that he’s wrong. But it only added to your anger; but it’s something more than Scaramouche has seen before.
Your tear-stained face contorts in an uncontrollable sob, but veins pulsating in your tender arms. Your shouting in between hiccups and he hates himself for putting you in such form, though he can’t say anything about it as he was silenced by your outburst.
“Shut up! Shut the fuck up!”
“I keep telling you, why don’t you ever believe me? What? You think you’re so high and mighty that you can’t listen to me? Your partner?” you paused a little, taking in the surprised look on his face. He’s so beautiful, you thought.
“You deserve me. You deserve me, my love, my everything! You deserve the world and more! And I hate you. I hate so much for thinking otherwise!”
Your knees failed you and you drop to the ground, crying. Hurt at the thought that the man you love the most thinks that it’ll be better for you if you’re not with him.
The man crouched down at your height, taking you in his arms and muttering strings of apologies. His own eyes now watery, regret filling his form at the memory of what he has done to you.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
“If you are, then please don’t do this again.”
You craned your neck to see his eyes. The love and affection once again present, with a hint of guilt as he caress your red cheeks. “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, Scara. You’re the only best thing in my life.”
Your words shook his world. It’s better than any I love yous you’ve said before, before than anything else. How idiotic of him to think such things, how lowly of him to hurt you— his life, the one whom he swore loyalty to.
“I won’t. I promise. You have my life in your arms, love.”
He planted a soft kiss on your forehead. Determined to make it up to you and show you his love, because you’ve done more than that to him.
-> After a grueling battle with demons Xiao's karmic debt almost finally claims him once again. This time he isn't saved by the god of geo, but by an unknown divine entity or person...
-> Xiao x Gn reader!
-> They/them or simply "you" used - no gender specified for reader! Warning for Xiao's karmic debt! Pretty angsty! Reader is basically a divine creature or a god - you'll see! Might not be lore accurate - this is simply for fun and for your reading pleasure <3
Tumblr media
The all too familiar scent of blood fills his lungs, the iron like smell was too strong to ignore and he was too weak to do anything but fall onto his knees. Xiao's grip was still tight around his polearm, but he was too weak to use it as a crutch to move. The once simple task of getting up seemed like an impossibility... The only sound filling his ears was his own heavy breathing and panting - despite how much air filled his lungs over and over, he couldn't breathe or catch his breath.
He could feel it - his karmic debt calling, slowly coming to claim him as he was too weak out to resist it. This is where he would finally succumb to it after hundreds of years of fighting and service to the Geo Archon, protecting the people of Liyue - trying his best to do some good... his time had come. All colour faded from around him as the souls of the damned greedily grabbed a hold of him with their cursed hands and without much resistance from him. He was just too tired of fighting...
Their cursed hands held him in place as their claw like nails digged into his pale skin, despite how sharp and deep they sank. Blood tickled down from some of the wounds they created as sweat rolled down his forehead dampening his hair and making it stick to it. He could barely feel the pain from it anymore, the only thing he felt was numbness... He wouldn't be able to fight against them even if he wanted to, and he wasn't sure if he did. The damned lifted him from the ground to hold him up, the painful ache from their grip was finally surfacing.
He closed his eyes in preparation. Soon he would be greeted by the familiar sight of his friends - his family. Bosacius, Indarias, Bonanus and Menogias... He would finally see them again, if he was fortunate enough to earn that. It was high time, the Yaksha's and the Adepti were all but extinct, yet he still remained as one of the last on both sides as if stuck in the past while the world forgot and moved on... Perhaps he had done enough good to redeem his cursed soul and be allowed rest.
Suddenly a blinding white light spread everywhere around him, his eyes shut tightly as the damned shrieked in pain or horror and quickly dissapeared. Without them holding him he simply fell forwards and down. He was caught by someone before he could make contact with the ground - the one who got rid of the damned souls and their hold on him, you. He couldn't open his eyes due to the brightness and even if he could he couldn't see anything due to it.
It seemed he was once again saved from his inevitable fate from the hands of his karma and the damned souls that cravedhis corrupted soul. They wouldn't go away no matter how many times he evaded them, but right now he could feel their effects leaving his body with your presence... Your presence felt so familiar and yet so entirely foreign to him, a strange feeling - but somehow he felt safe with you around and holding him.
Slowly the light died down around him and he was able to open his sharp golden eyes to peer around his surroundings. It was the same field that had been filled with corpses of demons he had purged before being overwhelmed by his karma, it had been painted red with their blood and his - but now it was a field of lush green grass and blooming flowers. He had to look for some time to comprehend it was truly the same place, as nothing was growing there then. Even the grass had been dry and brown when he had arrived...
He turned his head to face his savior - half expecting them to be Rex Lapis, but no. You wore all white clothing with a veil covering your hair and a mask completely covering your features. The mask was painted white with fine and subtle, yet intricate details littering it. The whole outfit you wore prevented him from figuring out your identity. Every detail outside of your skin colour hidden, which didn't tell him much anyway. The large full moon rose like a halo behind you, making you look more ethereal to him than you already were with your almost entirely white outfit.
He continued to stare at you in confusion, but was unable to form any words to question or thank you for your deed - but did he even truly feel grateful? He had cheated death more than once now, there was sure to be consequences of some sort for it. He couldn't keep evading and escaping it over and over until the end of time... But just who were you to be able to save him in the first place and scare off the damned without them fighting back? Why would you do it even if you were able to? You didn't know him... so why?
Question after question entered his head and the more he thought about it the more confused he became. He was already weak and worn, it would be best for him to rest. He really doubted you would harm him if he let his body rest like this for some time, after all that trouble it was likely not worth it for them to hurt him... Still, it had been a long while since he was able to trust someone like this. Even if it was logical, it was still a big deal for him to trust another while he rested.
Your arms were comfortable to lay in. He felt safe and protected while in your embrace in a way he hadn't before... It was terrifyingly easy for him to let down his guard when in your presence. You hadn't said a word during the entire time and he didn't have the slightest idea of what you looked like, yet the faint feeling of familiarity grew the more he stared at your mask covered face. He couldn't place it, but he would figure it out once he had rested.
When he finally closed his eyes again he dreamt of his friends... They were more like memories, but he was aware of that fact and they weren't, but he wasn't complaining. He would mind living in these memories when he needed to rest, it was much better than the dreams he would otherwise get. The other reason he often didn't sleep was because his karma would give him terrible dreams and left him vulnerable to it with no supervision. But this dream was surely done by you, or caused by your presence - it had to be. Everything about you was a mystery that became more confusing and complicated the more he learned...
When he awoke it was the next day and the sun had began rising from the horizon. The mysterious figure in white was gone from his side with no signs of their whereabouts... He would have thought it all a dream had his wounds and marks from the damned littered his body like they had appeared, he was also laying on the soft fresh grass that had appeared when you did. The question was, where had you gone and who were you? A question not easily answered...
What he had witnessed yesterday day couldn't have been done by a mortal - not even someone with a vision, so his only option was to ask Rex Lapis for help. He if anyone would know something about you, he was the longest living being he knew and was incredibly knowledgeable in a verity of fields and he was apart of the Seven Gods, it was likely he would know of the other kinds of gods that existed. Normally he wouldn't bother the Geo Archon with such things, but this felt important enough, perhaps too important to not ask for his help.
“A mysterious person dressed in all white clothing with a feature covering mask...” The former Archon repeated to himself deep in thought.
His eyes moved from side to side as he tried to remember if he had ever heard of encountered someone like that... A thought crossed his mind and his eyes widened in what appeared to be shock or realization, his face quickly became more serious before he turned towards the Yaksha.
“Hmm. It appears you might have truly been saved by a god of some kind. Though I thought none still existed outside of the Seven...” He kept thinking with his hands crossed.
It was quite a lot to take in and required some thought for them both of them. If one god or divine being like one still existed outside of the remaining Seven, surely there could or even would be others. That raised a lot of possibilities and questions that they currently had no answers for. Strange that this was the first time Zhongli had ever heard of such encounter and it was told by Xiao of all people, interesting...
Zhongli was no longer an Archon but he would very much like to meet you, the only question was how that would be arranged. Neither of them had any way to contact or identify you, so it would be left up to fate or you yourself showing up. Until then everything would continue as normal, Xiao had already healed and was able to continue his duties of warding off demons. He was more mindful of his limits and the effects of his karma, but a part of him was curious if you would show up like you did if he got overwhelmed again...
It was a stupid thought, but you hadn't left his thoughts since the fay you had met. Every time he wasn't fighting he was thinking about you and that feeling your presence caused, it was addicting in a way... The complete safety you had made him feel was something he didn't realize he had craved for and he still didn't know how react to it. Perhaps he was glad you had saved him that night after all - a pity he wasn't able to tell you that then or even now.
Xiao's gaze rose to the moon above him, it shone more brightly than previous nights and reminded him of you. The way the moon had risen behind you had been imprinted in his brain and made him associate you with the moon. Suddenly the familiar sight of pure white clothing caught his eye. He almost got whiplash from how fast he turned his head to follow the sight, and indeed it was you. You stood some distance away from him as you stared at him in silence. His mouth became agape from the shocking sight of you and he didn't know what to do but stare back. He heard your faint chuckle from beneath the mask you wore...
He watched like a hawk as your hand moved slowly upwards to hold the bottom of your beautifully decorated mask. It felt agonizingly slow as you began moving it away from your face, uncovering your features from beneath it. The Yaksha's breath hitched as your face was slowly revealed inch by inch right before his eyes and he could do nothing but stare intensly at you the more you revealed until finally there was nothing left to uncover.
“I didn't get to introduce myself last time. Hello, Conqueror of Demons.” You smiled.
his friend, xiao x gn ! adeptus ! reader
( they/them prns )
"It sure has been awhile hasn't it!"
Xiao was always at a loss for words when Y/n would unexpectedly pop up out of nowhere. Though, the visits were never unwelcome ... well, even though Xiao made it seem like they were.
"Oh .. you again," he turned sharply. His arms crossed over his chest as he looked out from the balcony. He (desperately) hoped that the sun's rays were enough to hide the blush on his cheeks.
Like I said, when Y/n came around to see him, he was ... always put of his element. He wasn't sure if it was attraction .. or, or something more he felt towards the taller adeptus.
Throwing an arm around his shoulder, y/n grinned down at the vigilant yaksha, "come on, don't turn away from me. It's been .. what? A hundred years since we last saw each other?"
"A hundred years too soon, in my opinion."
"Oh, come on. Don't be like that."
Y/n kept poking at him with a smile on their face. A teasing grin no less. But Xiao refused to look at them. He didn't want to be reminded of a single most fact that he had been avoiding for a long while now.
"Whatever, where have you been anyway?"
"In the chasm. Trust me, Xiao. That place is a fucking nightmare."
Y/n finally let go of him as they went to stand beside him. Their arms crossing over their chest as well.
"I thought I would never escape, but .. one could say I got lucky."
Xiao finally gave them a side glance. His heart seeming to skip a beat every passing second.
"The chasm ... yes, you're lucky to have made it out."
"Yeah, but you would have come rescued me if I didn't come back after a few more years, right?"
They grinned as they nudged him a bit.
Xiao looked away once again, "if you truly needed saving, then yes. I would go."
"Knew it! That's what friends are for!"
Right, friends.
That was the fact Xiao wanted to avoid.
Fool (Xiao)
Tumblr media
TAGS: Xiao/F!Reader, smut, creampie, belly bulge, drabble Ao3 ver.
“How dare you...elicit such...such feelings within me!” Snarled the yaksha, brows furrowed in anger and frustration even as he took your body with near abandon. You were facing away from him in a seated position, allowing him full control to spear you into his cock again and again.
You could do nothing as Xiao made sure to keep your legs spread wide, all so he could easily impale you onto his thick girth without obstruction. Had he been more honest with himself however, you’d know that the main reason he decided to take you like this was because he refused to have you see his weakness.
He didn’t want you to see the way his pale cheeks flushed, the redness reaching all the way to his ears as his normally cool countenance refused to show itself. Not when he had you in his grasp like this, so vulnerable and yet all his for the taking.
“It’s your fault I’m like this! Now...take full responsibility for the consequences of your actions!”
When he unloaded himself into your welcoming body for the umpteenth time that day, amber eyes zeroed in on the way your stomach seemed to distend in what looked to be a mockery of pregnancy.
You let out what could only be a combination of a squeak and a whimper when you felt him hardening within you once more.
One Final Dance - Xiao x GN!Reader
Summary: You wanted to keep your job a secret from your boyfriend. You knew what could happen if he found out, but the truth always comes to light and he found out. But just before you deal with the consequences, you requested just one final dance with him
Warnings/Extra: Angst (At least I tried to make it) // Character Death (Reader) // OOC Xiao? // Not really proof read… // Time skips are seen like this -------->
.
W.C - 1423
A/N- My friend read it, I read it. I have a heavy love/hate relationship with it ngl, leaning more to hate but there is things I like about it. Which I hope you do too…ANYWAYS. Although I read it and so did my friend, I didn’t actually fix or edit anything. So you’re reading the raw (?) piece technically…enjoy? (I hope)
Tumblr media
Working as a Fatui member, you often had missions outside your home nation. This mission was situated in Liyue. You looked around the vase land, exploring a bit before returning back to your base camp. However, unluckily, a group of treasure hoarders came by. You were quick to pull out your weapon and were ready to fight them off.
You were doing well, however you didn’t notice a treasure hoarder coming up behind you, he raised his weapon and was about to slash it down towards you, you were able to turn your head in time to see a green mist suddenly in front of you, sending the treasure hoarder back.
You eyes met the back of a masked man, he was quick to dispose of the rest of the treasure hoarders, it went faster as you were quick to help him. After all's been dealt with, he turned to you.
“Are you alright?”
“I’m…fine…who are you?”
He turned back around, his head turning towards you as his polearm disappeared into thin air. His Anemo vision shined. You couldn’t help but take in his appearance fully now that there weren't many distractions.
“Who I am is not important…be safer next time”
He said, before disappearing in the same green mist he appeared in. You paused a bit. Remembering his appearance. His mask, his short green hair, his tattooed arm. His clothing. And his voice.
You paused a bit
You wanted to see him again.
“How many times must I tell you to be careful”
The man who you learnt was named Xiao spoke after saving you for the nth time. You smiled slyly at him and scratched the back of your head.
“Quite a lot it seems”
You replied, Xiao shook his head at you, disappointed. He had given you his name, so you could call him when you were in danger. Although you could easily defend yourself from most enemies. You couldn’t help but want to see Xiao more and more with each encounter.
“If you continue calling my name like this, I’m going to think you’re messing with me”
“Is it so wrong to want to see you?”
You admitted, raising a brow. He seemed taken aback by your statement before crossing his arms. Oh he was definitely going to lecture you about calling his name just to see him.
“I had thought it was…suspicious. You seemed completely fine every time you called for me, and you also seemed perfectly capable of fighting…so you only called my name to see me?”
“...Maybe?”
“...If…if you truly just want to see me…then just stop by Wangshu Inn instead. I think it’s…better. We can actually talk without being interrupted by hilichurls attacking”
And with that, Xiao quickly left, teleporting away.
“What do you mean you don’t know how to dance!?”
You exclaimed, looking shocked at Xiao when he revealed his inability to dance. He looked away, a blush dusting his face before nodding.
“My life was filled with fighting, even after Morax saved me, I am still fighting. Fighting to protect Liyue, fighting my karmatic debt…I guess I didn’t have time to learn to dance”
“But you have time to hang out with me huh?”
Xiao’s cheeks grew redder, turning his whole body away and crossing his arms. Even though he did this to hide how he felt, you could tell he was flustered.
You softly laughed at your friend's reaction. You enjoyed these times. Where you could get free time from your usual Fatui duties to hang out with Xiao. Someone who you had gained feelings for. You wish you could tell him your true occupation but…his job to protect Liyue and you being a part of a group that could put Liyue in danger? It was best for you to keep it a secret, so you could continue this friendship.
You slowly walked up to Xiao, tapping his shoulder and lending a hand out towards him.
“Well…if you want. I could teach you. Right here, right now”
Xiao turned to you and looked at your extended hand. With a small sigh he took your hand, with a grin you were quick to pull him into a slow dance. Guiding him on where to place his hands. With each step you took, with each mistake he made as he apologies with a small blush. The moonlight shining on the two of you. And near the end of the dance, perhaps it was the atmosphere that made things the perfect setting. Slowly he leaned in and you two shared a kiss under the moonlight.
I guess your feelings were reciprocated.
Today marks the anniversary for you and your boyfriend Xiao! You’ve been dating for 3 whole years and everything was perfect. You had your ups and downs sure, every couple does. But you two truly loved each other. With a bag in hand and a wave bye to your comrades. You made your way to Wangshu Inn.
You smiled at Verr Goldet, who gave you a nod as she saw you walk up. She was the first person to find out about your relationship with the adeptus himself. And she grew fond of you.
“Xiaoooo, are you here? Where are yo-”
You froze, eyes widening when you saw someone pointing a polearm at your neck. That someone, being your boyfriend. You quickly raise your hands and tried to walk back a bit.
“X-Xiao? What’s going on?”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
You opened your mouth to ask, what was he talking about? Until you stiffened. Did he…find out? Find out about your true occupation.
“You said you worked as a wandering merchant…you had goods with you I-I thought I could trust you…I wanted to surprise you today by picking you up but I couldn’t find you where you said you were…I got worried, I saw you with the Fatui…I thought you had gotten caught but…no…it was clear to me you were lying to me from the start”
You looked down, thinning your lips. You couldn’t deny his allegations, he saw you. He knew you were lying but…you truly did like him.
“Xiao…I…please, I love you, my job as a Fatui won’t affect this relationship”
“But it might affect the safety of Liyue! You…”
Xiao felt the words die on his tongue. He loved you dearly, but he cannot just let you go after finding out who you work for. After finding out what you could do to endanger the citizens of Liyue.
“[Name]...I’m sorry I just…I hope you can understand, but I cannot just…”
“...I understand”
Xiao lowered his polearm, he took some deep breaths as you carefully placed your gift on the ground and slowly walked over.
“But…before you…well…ensure I’m no longer a threat to Liyue…can we have one final dance?”
Xiao looked at you, his eyes softening at your request. After much thought, he put away his polearm and lent out his hand which you happily took. And just like 3 years ago, you two danced under the moonlight. The movement was careful, no mistakes made anymore. Xiao leaned in for the final time and gave you a kiss.
With a heavy heart, he summoned his polearm again and stabbed you through the chest. You coughed up blood, quickly clinging to his clothing, you looked up to him and smiled despite everything. The blood running down his polearm and dripping on the ground.
Your eyes slowly lost their light and sparkle. The light and sparkle Xiao loved to see. He held your body close to his own. He felt like crying. But he couldn’t, not now.
After burying your body, after placing flowers on your grave. He teleported himself back to WangShu in, his eyes landed on the bag you wanted to give him for your anniversary. He walked over to it and picked the bag up, taking the gift out he felt a shortness of his breath as his eyes landed on it.
The traveller's eyes lingered on a photo frame of Xiao and an unfamiliar person. The two of them smiling, Xiao is holding onto the person in a loving embrace. They turned to Xiao, wanting to ask about it but they stopped themselves as they saw how he looked at the photo himself. With such sadness and seemingly regret.
They thought it was best to keep quiet about it. It must’ve been someone important to Xiao that had been laid to rest.
If only they knew that Xiao was the reason they had to be laid to rest.
