One interesting thing about the Despicable Me franchise is how Gru is retroactively framed as this super successful, super notorious ex-villain when the first movie relies on him being pretty unimpressive in terms of actual villainous accomplishments, to the point that the bank refuses to fund his schemes because they're not profitable. I mean, you steal the moon one time and then suddenly you have all these other villains and villain fighters who have been fans of your work for years? When your three main accomplishments in the field of villainy aside from your very last one are stealing a big TV screen and two knockoff small-scale replicas of famous monuments? We didn't need a Minions: The Rise of Gru because the first movie was already the rise of Gru. He was so unsuccessful as a villain prior that his own mom roasted him for it

why are movie theaters banning the gentleminions kids??? from what I can tell they're getting dressed up in nice suits, buying a bunch of tickets, watching the movie, then applauding at the end. at worst it's not hurting anyone and at best it's sweet and boosting ticket (and snack) sales

the gentleminions trend and the subsequent ban of teens in formal wear from many theaters is funny for all the obvious reasons but like. were the teenage boys in formal wear particularly rowdy every time? because that's also just what happens when a large group of teenage boys gets together no matter what they're wearing. were managers just tired of seeing them? i want to know the thought process behind the ban

My brother is very concerned about Minion anatomy and physiology. People who know more about hit animated movies The Minions please help me
Q: Can minions die? A: I don't think so. I think they're immortal by cartoon logic. Also I think the same individual minions have canonically existed for millenia
Q: Can minions be injured? A: Yes but only cartoonishly
Q: Like if they got blown up with a bomb they wouldn't die. A: I'm pretty sure that literally happens. They just get burnt
Q: What would happen if you cut a minion in half? A: Minion mitosis. I'm pretty sure they don't have organs
Q: If they don't have organs do they breathe? Can they drown? A: I don't think so

Eyyy the minions +suits thing is a joke bc when the first one came out they were like 6 and now this one is coming out and the original target audience is in their early 20s. #adults
Ahh I guess that makes sense since the original movie came out in 2010. It's quite amusing haha. Thanks for the explanation!
