If you OVEREAT today...don't worry! - . Just a quick reminder as you head to your Christmas brunch and dinners this afternoon (and to prepare for New Year’s celebrations)... - If you’re overeating every day or on the weekend, that’s one thing. Going over your nutrition targets 3-4 times a year during the holidays is NOT going to make you gain a bunch of fat or undo your hard work. - My recommendation? . Have fun and indulge in all the deliciousness, but don’t make go H.A.M to see how much ham, turkey, greens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato pie, etc... you can shove down your mouth. Enjoy your plate and have dessert too...without taking a "togo" plate! Don't blame the holidays, you were fat in August! . - If your vitals are ᕼIGᕼ ᖇIᔕK or borderline (prediabetic, elevated hypertension), stop playing around with your health! This applies to the skinny fat family too. Do you know what's really in your food? - This week’s challenge is all about how less is more!   Your task this week is to only buy and consume foods that have 5 ingredients or less!   In his book, Food Rules, Michael Pollan says: “Avoid food products that contain more than five ingredients. The specific number you adopt is arbitrary, but the more ingredients in a packaged food, the more highly processed it probably is.” It’s important for you to keep this concept in mind when you’re shopping. Also, note that more than five ingredients in your own recipe is not the same thing… It’s perfectly fine for you to use more than five ingredients if you’re cooking at home! And NO, the Hagaan Dazs “5 ingredient” ice cream is still not on the list J As Michael Pollan put it, the number 5 could be imaginary; someone’s random choice or personal whim, but you need to draw the line somewhere. You can easily adjust the number later, but for now it’s important to learn how to examine and inspect closely what you put in your body.
