physics is so cool because after such a long time the little kid in you finally gets the answers to their questions and nothing makes me happier than that

Two teenage girls just made an incredible math discovery!
“Calcea Johnson and Ne'Kiya Jackson just gave a presentation at the American Mathematical Society's Annual Southeastern Conference. What they were able to do is find a way to prove the Pythagorean Theorem using trigonometry without circular logic - something mathematicians have been trying to do for nearly 2,000 years.”

Nacli appreciation post
Tumblr media
Nacli, the rock salt Pokémon, I adored him the moment I saw him, and his name made him even better. NaCl is the chemical formula for salt, which makes its name super cute!
However, this is not even the best part about Nacli, his little salt crystals are cubic! Which is the natural structure of table salt! If you wanted to prove this, you could always take a large piece of Himalayan salt that you see for sale in department stores all the time and break it. It should cleave in right angles if not produce a perfect cube!
Tumblr media
The last super exciting thing to see in the design of this Pokémon is that the rock that is making up the round body of Nacli is actually layered! this is really neat to see because salt deposits are typically found in sedimentary rocks (more specifically, they are usually found in dried ocean beds) and sedimentary rocks are known to have layers! Here is a picture of a core that was taken from a salt mine for reference. Anyway, end appreciation post.

What a blast it was the first week at uni. I had dinner everyday with a friend i haven't seen in years, made a bunch of new friends and already decided to change my option of computer engineering to mechanical engineering. its been also tiring and i feel quite exausted (and scared) but also happy, hopeful and fascinated by everything.
in the pic me studying this Saturday morning for my science, technology and society class. quite fun.

"Dana Scully was born on February 23, 1964, to Margaret and William Scully, into a close-knit Catholic family. She has an older brother, William Jr., an older sister, Melissa, and a younger brother, Charles (also know as Charlie). Scully's father was a Captain in the United States Navy, who died of a heart attack in 1994. Dana Scully grew up in Annapolis, Maryland and later in San Diego, California. As a young girl, Scully's favorite book was Moby Dick and she came to nickname her father "Ahab" from the book, and in return, he called her "Starbuck", due to this she named her dog Queequeg.
Scully attended the University of Maryland, and in 1986, received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics. Her undergraduate thesis was titled Einstein's Twin Paradox: A New Interpretation. Just out of medical school at Stanford University, she was recruited by the FBI; she accepted the agency's offer of employment because she felt she could distinguish herself there. After two years in the bureau, Section Chief Scott Blevins assigned her to work with agent Fox Mulder" (Wikipedia)

Happy 59th birthday MD. Dana Scully 🎂🥳
I hope she enjoys this time with Mulder and their 4.5-year-old daughter. William/Jackson, your nearly 21-year-old son is out there, I hope he's safe.
