Batfamily supporting one another's hobbies: Cassandra edition
Cassandra canonically and in my heart loves to dance, any sort of dance but ballet specifically, it makes her feel graceful and beautiful and while she knows that any ballet dancer has a kick like a mule, and her family knows that she's one of the best martial artists in the world, she likes that people perceive ballerina, and therefore her, as delicate and dainty. She's never been considered delicate or dainty before and it both pleases and amuses her.
Bruce makes the time to go with Cassandra as she investigates the various ballet schools and companies associated with Gotham to see which one of them fits her wants and needs. When she finds the one she likes best, Bruce becomes the school's anonymous sponsor. It it extremely anonymous since Cassandra, who enters the school under the name of Cassandra Drake, wants to earn any role she might play because of her skill rather than because she's a Wayne. Bruce also has flowers for Cassandra after her every performance. Who presents her with the flowers is determined by a competition almost as cutthroat as the competition for Alfred's cookies.
Tim learns enough ballet to dance with Cassandra, specifically to do lifts for her and other assistant dancer sort of things, helping her shine as the prima ballerina she is and getting the chance to have quality time with his sister/favorite sibling. He doesn't have the time to be part of any productions but he's very popular in the dance classes since his presence gives more people the chance to practice the lifts and assisted spins. He's also a translator for those days when Cassandra doesn't/can't verbally speak and just signs instead.
Dick would have learned to assist her with lifts and spins and such but he's very busy and pulled twenty different directions by twenty different people at any given time. Instead he designs costumes for Cassandra and her performances. While Dick's fashion sense for vigilante costumes is bonkers and impractical, his sense of style for performance costumes is absolutely on point and Cassandra's troupe becomes well known for both their skill and their amazing costumes.
Jason didn't think about it and now won't because he doesn't want to be seen as copying the Replacement, he might start teaching himself to play the piano to accompany the two of them as their musician for a private family performance, if they want
Damian is currently too short to be good at lifts and even if he had thought of it he, like Jason, doesn't want anyone to think he's copying Tim. He will, however, paint a portrait of Cassandra as Odette, her first lead role. Damian also occasionally hangs out at the dance school to sketch the ballerinas after he's done with his own schooling for the day. He will ignore anyone who isn't Cassandra who attempts to talk to him. However, in one instance, when an interloper attempted to harass one of the ballerinas, Damian interceded, broke the man's arm, and ensured security removed and banned the man from the premises. The ballerinas consider Damian their adorable little guardian. Damian just scoffs and insists he was only doing it because he didn't want Cassandra to have to deal with any subpar replacements.
Duke is currently trying to catch up in normal bat skills and doesn't quite have the time to add ballet to his plate though he's at every performance and cheers the loudest. He absolutely cheats the most to be the one to present flowers to Cassandra most often out of the family and is the one who can give her verbal praise for her dancing instead of just grunting like a certain others in the family.
Stephanie is a terrible dancer. She owns it and laughs at it but she would not be able to be part of any ballet or assist in ballet practice to save her life. She also doesn't really want to dance ballet. Instead Stephanie helps Cassandra break in her toe shoes, is at every performance, does her best to cheer louder than Duke, and will go with Cassandra to see other ballet performances.
Alfred also ensures that Cassandra and her ballet friends have appropriate snacks and stay hydrated. He's very proud of her for developing civilian friends.

the scrapped episode of Donnie, Raph, and Leo getting turned into toddlers while Mikey remains the same age but just add the Three Amigos (April, Cassandra, and Casey) to the mix
April has known the boys since they were all small so she easily bonds with Donnie. he wants to know why she has so many boring games on her phone and April straight-up tells him that he made them. she takes none of his little toddler shit. his dramatic ass tries to bargain for more hours on her ipad and all April does is yank it out of his baby hands because he has baby strength. he tries to tackle her but she just. scruffs him like a kitten. she's got him on lock and Donnie pouts the entire time
Cassandra treats Raph like he's one of her Brownie Scouts. Raph wants to watch tv? he has to wrestle her for the remote. Raph wants to pick what video games they can play? arm wrestle. Raph wants to sneak out of his bed during nappy time? alright, you can do that, but only if you defeat her in a sparring match. she's fully aware that Raph is a baby but that isn't stopping her from what she's doing. she'll pull up to a McDonald's with Raph cheering in the back, order one black coffee for herself and leave. Raph is bone tired and asleep by the time she's done with him and Cassandra will patiently be waiting for her bonus, thank you very much
Casey, on the other hand, is completely wrapped around baby Leo's finger. he's just. so little. so small. so baby. his entire head can fit in the palm of Casey's hand and that just makes the future boy sob. he's so fucking LITTLE. Leo has no idea he has Casey whipped, he just thinks this weird human boy is super nice. Leo wants ice-cream? Casey gives him ice-cream. Leo wants uppies? Casey gives him all the uppies. Leo wants to try out his super cool chainsaw hockey stick? well, just give him a second to put it in safety mode and there you go! Leo once does the flappy slider hands on Casey's face alongside a happy little chirp and Casey is gone. he's done for. he's on the floor sobbing his eyes out and Leo has no idea what just happened

i am so tired of the kipperlily hate train. i am begging you all to have half a modicum of care about kipperlily. yes, she went off on kristen in that preview. yes, she accused kristen of not caring. and you know what? she's right. kipperlily is very clearly addressing kristen's actions surrounding the student body presidential election, and not anything else like some of you are trying to make it out to be. and kristen doesn't care about the election!
you all agreed with sklonda when she said it never should've been kristen, it should've been riz. but when kipperlily, the girl who has put effort and time and care into her campaign gets a little angry that the girl who could not give less of a shit (presumably) wins the election, she's the devil? she's in the wrong? never anywhere did kipperlily say kristen wasn't a caring person, that she wasn't compassionate, that she wasn't a good person. kipperlily only sees what kristen puts out in the world, which so far....has just been fucking. bits! just bits! and kipperlily is reacting incredibly reasonably to what she sees and knows.
i love kristen to death. she's one of my favorite characters of all time and i will go to bat for her in almost any instance. but i understand kipperlily here. i get it. and i think kipperlily should get to bite her. for fun. and for revenge.

Cass + ballet 🩰 (ft. supportive siblings and good dad Bruce)
I love the idea of Cass enjoying dance. It's an outlet that allows her to express herself without words, and I think she would enjoy the highly technical aspect of ballet combined with its storytelling and emotional side. and as a former dancer I always have fun imagining my fav characters do ballet :)

CASS PLATONIC SOULMATE!?? people would say steph and i totally see it but like, stephcass shipper over here soo... yeah! any thoughts xo?
Honestly I'm not sure!! Canon-wise Steph is definitely the platonic soulmate, but only because they refuse to make it romantic. Excluding her (because I'm holding out on a very small hope they will confirm StephCass), I don't actually think Cass has many close friends.
We've seen her friendships with Clayface in Tynion's 'Tec run (which was great, but very much contained in that run), and Big Barda in BoP (not long/entrenched enough yet). Otherwise she has very few close friends outside of the Batfam, which has always been kinda sad but very much in character.
'Cause Clayface/Big Barda (and Steph, Tim, Jean-Paul, Duke, Harper etc.) are either people in a team with her or a Bat-associate. I think she's not great at maintaining relationships when it's not directly in front of her, which makes sense because she was never taught how to do so. Most of her foundational relationships in Batgirl (2000) required the other person (thinking particularly Steph and Babs) to put in a lot of effort, and they very easily fell apart.
The one exception is Brenda, who (besides Steph) was the first person Cass consciously formed a relationship with, and who is very important to her journey of self-discovery. But that didn't last either :(.
So in short I don't really think she has a platonic soulmate, because most of her friends are either Batfam or extremely short-term and limited to one run. Crossing my fingers that Brombal's new run introduces more long-lasting Cass friends!

as penance for the attempt to erase them from existence, DC should drop an animated batman show where his sidekicks are batgirl cass and robin steph and no one else. not even barbara or dick, which begs the question of where batgirl and robin even came from that never gets explained
my reasoning: none whatsoever other than it would make a lot of people very angry and upset

It has come to my attention that some are not aware of the double bat teen titans elseworlds run. [Post Here] made by @saturnsickle
So I'm here to explain a bit to everyone.
When was the series?
From September 1st 2001 to March 1st 2005, an elseworlds Teen Titans run started.
The series was 43 issues plus a 2004 annual.
Line-Up
Yara Flor (Wondergirl)
Jackson Hyde (Aqualad)
Cassandra Cain (Batgirl)
Jason Todd (Robin)
Roy Harper (Arsenal)
It was a bit out of nowhere, seeing as the lineup featured two brand new characters, a newly established character, a then considered dead character, and a former teen titan turned titan.
Retrospect
In retrospect, this series can be seen as a world building series as well as a device to introduce more heroes within a similar age group and adding more younger heroes into the mix, bridging the gap between the titans of Dick Grayson and Donna Troy and the younger generation of young justice soon teen titans Tim Drake and Cassie Sandsmark.
This series also reintroduced Jason Todd to a reader base that had known him as dead at this point. Adding new characterization that would be later used in the Batman: Hush storyline and lead into the Batman: Under the Red Hood series.
Interestingly, we see that this series of Teen Titans ended the same month that Red Hood's identity was revealed to Batman in Batman #683.
That is no coincidence. Fans have long since known that the series ended when Jason Todd was introduced back into the main line story.
However, while well planned, this left the elseworld's Teen Titans run to end abruptly and feel incomplete in some places.
Features
Some features of this series were a phenomenal number one cover that would later inspire the cover art for World's Finest: Teen Titans #1, an interesting dynamic between Batgirl and Robin that wouldn't show in mainline stories until New 52, and Roy in another mentorship role that we had been starting to see become more prominent at the time.
The introductory arc in the story (issues 1 through 4), where we were introduced to the characters in their separate contexts and got to see them come together in a way that explained how they got to that point, instead of just showing us them together as a team. It was also interesting to see Joker used as an introductory villain instead of someone else. It really set up the idea of a larger world outside of Joker and the scale of threats that would continue to increase throughout the series.
One of my favorite subplot that continued throughout the series was the character and moral conflict between the two bat characters (Cass and Jason) and their views on Justice, superheroing, and the right way to go about it. Although Jason's characterization is not exactly the same as his pre-death in the family personality, it provided a good sense of transition that got us from PreDitF to the UtRH personality. Cass and Jason often found themselves at odds with each other throughout the series. Cass, who believed in redemption and was stark and steady in her belief that no one should die, contrasted Jason's harsher view on crime and how to handle it.
It was also nice to see Cass on a team of people similar to her age. Although we got to see her work on the Justice League: Elite team, the elseworld's teen titans run got to show her in a more light-hearted run where she got to learn to be herself. Mirroring her then running solo series, we got to see Cass start to form a life and connections outside of the suit, and meet people who tested her belief in the symbol, this time with her peers.
Her growing friendship with Yara was really fun to read even at its worst writing. I especially enjoyed issue 25 and 26, where the two of them teamed up with the elseworld's version of Starfire and Donna Troy in a timeless issue of powerful female heroes.
Some of the negative from the run was the forced upon romantic subplot from 27 to 36, where it took up too much space on the panels and caused unnecessary character drama in a style that hadn't been seen in the run up to that point.
By the time of issue 40, there were three issues to wrap up the plot of the story before the run would come to a close. The story structure was there, but it was rushed and needed a couple more issues to really dive into the plot. The team disbands after Jason Todd/Robin murders one of the lesser villians they were fighting and caused the team to split ways to deal with the events of the arc. It culottes perfectly into the reveal later that month in the main books.
There was a top heavy focus on the two bat characters, which left less room for the other's. That didn't mean that the others didn't have central arcs throughout the run. It is just meant by the proxy of having two bat characters. Their drama was brought up the most.
Arcs
Issues 1 through 4 Jason focused introductory
Issues 5 through 8 was a Yara focused arc
9 through 12 was a Roy centric arc
16 through 19 was a Cass centric arc
20 through 22 was a Jason centric arc
23 and 24 was a Jackson centric arc
25 and 26 was Cass and Yara
30 through 34 was another Roy centric arc
The annual plus 36 was a Jackson arc
37 and 38 was another Yara centric arc
40 through 43 was extremely focused in Jason with Cass as a close second.
Conclusions
It was a really interesting story to read, and it was fun to see what having Batgirl on a team does to the dynamics of a normally Robin only sort of line-uo. It's interesting that Jackson was the first of the two original characters to make the jump to mainline comics (2010) and Yara was later in 2021, having been the last of the team brought into the main timeline. It would be nice to see them come back together for a special crossover again, fill the niche group of fans that follow the limited fan material on this series.

Alcina doesn’t worry about Bela or Daniela going out with their friends but she is more cautious with Cassandra as in she has to know who she’s going out with where they’re going and what they’re doing because Cassandra and her friends can get into all sorts of trouble that often makes Alcina and the other two wonder how she ends up in these situations.
“We were hiking in the forest and we almost encountered skinwalkers. The sound kept getting closer and closer and we ran like crazy back to the car and drove off,”
“We accidentally got invited to a party that turned out to be a drug dealing hotspot. Like, people were dealing while getting a drink,”
“Elise tried to drive a manual car and we almost drove off of a cliff,”
“We had to hitchhike because we were stranded in the middle of nowhere with two dead phones and no signal,”
