Can we talk about the glirst poll please, sunnyblr? I've been dying to talk about the glirst poll with you all day, okay?
Okay first up we got favorite Glenn personality trait:
Mentally unwell swagger and cuntiness were neck and neck the whole time, but we ended up with mentally unwell swagger taking the prize with 34.9% of the vote. Cuntiness got 30.2% of the vote, Implied homosexuality/his deal with Rob-14.2%, his laugh got 9.4%, and I went to Juilliard and Other were tied at 5.7%.
I think it's very iconic that people seem to love Glenn primarily for his cuntiness and mental illness. A relatable king.
Next, is your favorite Dennis personality trait:
His pathetic everything won solidly, which wasn't a surprise. Everything Dennis does is a pathetic mess and we all love him for it, even if he's not our fav. And shout out to the people who picked his thing with Mac, let's be bff's.
Next up is your favorite physical trait. This was a write in answer, and I will definitely do more with these answers at some point, but I tried to narrow it down to some common responses for the purpose of this post:
Y'all are obsessed with this man's hair, and I had to read about this man's titties SO MUCH. The thirst in these answers was so funny to read through, and I will never see Glennis the same again. So thanks for that I guess.
Finally we have whether people find the trait they listed in the physical trait question attractive in other people.
I meant to ask whether people liked the personality trait they chose in other people, but I'm bad at polls I guess. I still find it intriguing that some people only like the physical trait in Glennis. What about this man is so alluring that physical traits you like on him, are not attractive in other people. Does Glenn know magic?
And now for some of my favorite physical trait write-in answers:
And this, which made me cry laughing and deserves its own special recognition:
There’s been a lot of lies going around tumblr that Dennis doesn’t look good in brown. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but my opinion is the correct one, and here’s why:
Exhibit A: Dark brown jacket from Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare
The dark color compliments his skin tone and goes well with his dark brown hair. It contrasts well with his washed out, pale face in this episode. I think it's interesting that so many of you glirst post about how good Dennis looks in this episode without giving any credit to how the dark jacket adds so much to the teeny tiny paleboy look of him. It's giving business casual frat boy pretending he isn't mentally ill and I love that for him.
Exhibit B: Light brown button up from Dennis and Dee's Mom is Dead (feat. Dennis standing next to Mac totally normally you see it on TV every day)
I do not like the cut of this shirt--it's too big on him in some places and too small in others. HOWEVER! the color really brings out the brightness of his eyes and lips. I just want to stare at his face while he's wearing this one. I think if he wasn't wearing the boring undershirt it would be easier to tell how nice brown looks against his skin SPEAKING OF WHICH
Exhibit C: Whore shirt from The Gang Gets Whacked Part 2
Come on, I can't be the only one who thinks he looks gorgeous here, right? The dark, soft shade of brown gives him an overall warm and inviting appearance while also making his skin, chest hair, and nipples pop. And we all know Groban likes his ladies to pop
Exhibit D: Checkered button up from The Gang Gets Trapped
This shirt makes his eyes look such a delicate pale blue. Sure, wearing blues and greens and reds makes his eyes look darker and more vibrant, which is also a good look for him, but the gentle light blue his eyes become when wearing brown shouldn't be dismissed because of that. I don't know how else to explain it he's just mesmerizing to me like this. If he batted his eyes at me I would give him my house.
CONCLUSION:
Brown clothing draws out his dark hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and pink lips. It basically makes all his features pop and stand out more. He doesn't always wear nice shades of brown, and his shirts aren't always the best cut for his body-type (true of all his clothes, not just the brown ones), but the right kind of brown shirt is lovely on him. Especially warm, earthy browns that contrast with his cold coloring.
@patheticboydennis feel free to fight me in the marketplace of ideas, but no matter what you say I know in my heart and soul that I'm right about this
This is where Glenn did this interview where he has to stop himself from letting out his inner actor nerd and this other insane one where he talks about his glald phase making him feel masculine.
After the premiere, they all left the Lightbox cinema and went to "OneEleven" at Front St and Blue Jays Way for an afterparty.
(yes I'm looking at maps, it's getting a lil creepy, yes, gonna stop now)
The bald man next to Glenn is Jim Balsillie, the guy Glenn's playing (in a satirical way) in this movie. The glald phase last year was his fault. (Ngl I did enjoy his buzzed silver fox era.)
The short guy standing between the two of them in one of the photos is Sean Silcoff, the co-author of the book this movie is based on (or inspired by, I'm not sure).
The picture with the four guys has Matt Johnson, the director, co-writer and one of the main cast, on the right and Jay Baruchel (white wig guy in the movie) next to Glenn.
Anyway, here's a few non-Glimages so I seem more well-adjusted.
Apparently, a photographer called George Pimentel took quite a few of these photos at the event, but I couldn't find any on his website. I suspect there may be more on insta, but I haven't seen them because I refuse to open it, so if someone could pop over there and see if there any more fun pictures from this event and reblog/post them here...? Please? Good day to youse!
I usually don’t actually interact much with fandom of certain things, but second resurrection in hyperfixation kicked my ass and made me join Sunnyblr and it’s been fun reblogging things, reading meta, started out normal enough, but it also seems I slipped in the door right before everyone started collectively losing their minds and descending further into hiatus madness and now the doors are locked and there’s no turning back, the polls are closing in, I—I can feel the glirst in the room with me right now, and the windows only open from the outside, but horrifyingly, I don’t know if I want to open them. I don’t know. With trembling fingers, I click on the poll.
Drunk, and just thinking about how I desperately want a 'Dennis is depressed episode' with Glenn entirely unkempt, messy curls, overgrown five o'clock shadow, huddled up and crying (it would probably be over something stupid, because Sunny is a sitcom. Though I like the idea of it surrounding his obsession with maintaining his youth, yet a macden motivation would be the dream.) I need it for the aesthetic pleasure; also pathetic Dennis is so necessary, and long overdue for a resurgence.
I think that’s a very cool shirt and that’s why I made this gif and have been staring at it for the last 10 minutes. Very neat shirt and a cool jacket.
