I have seen on so many occasions that the Lucaya kiss was too passionate for Disney's standards at the time. That's not why it was cut. Michael Jacobs tweeted (@GMWwriters) the almost kiss was shot two different ways (kiss and almost kiss) and that it didn't fit the direction that the show was going in. It's safe to say that Riley and Maya's friendship would've imploded had Lucas kissed Maya. Riley wasn't ready, obviously. I could write a list on why Rucas was doomed but I hope this is useful.

Yeah I forgot about this but I remember this being said too! TBH I heard both which leads me to believe maybe it was a little bit of both reasons.

It’s interesting because I was just on twitter for a LONG time trying to find where the writers talked about this but couldn’t find it. HOWEVER, Peyton Meyer (who played Lucas) apparently did a Twitch stream literally a couple months ago and talked about how they shot two versions and how he wishes the kiss was aired. Even he didn’t totally understand why the other one was shown. I know a Lucaya when I see one 🥲 I also saw all the tweets about how sad the showrunners were it got cancelled. Gosh it makes me wish we had a s4 for that and Andi Mack SO much more. Im so happy we’re getting one for hsmtmts

I think the show runners for gmw put a LOT of thought and intention into their show, so I’m sure that list would be very, very long. Lol but it’s been fun remembering gmw. Thank you for your ask anon :)

We are going to miss Girl Meets World so much but are so thankful for two wonderful shows that we were left with. Girl Meets World... Future?

Ok, I can’t lie, I’m not done grieving the cancellation of Girl Meets World. And no, this does not make me a better fan than those who have moved on and accept its end. But, I’m still suspicious. I don’t know if it’s my blind opitimism, but look at the facts.

1.  The GMWWriters Twitter hasn’t been active since JANUARY 20th. It’s nearing the end of April, and they haven’t tweeted anything. Zero. Isn’t it odd? They never even wrote after the episode aired. It just... stopped. They never said an official goodbye...

2.  No one, including Disney Channel, MJ, Ben Savage, or any of the GMW “officials” have outright denied the chance of some sort of ‘extra’ gmw (a season 4, a dcom, etc.). We made a lot of noise, you think someone would have been straightforward and said the impossibility of anything occurring. Sort of like a “hey guys, thanks for trying so hard, but nothing’s happening. This was it. Amen” sort of announcement.

3.  It’s not dead. They’re still playing reruns. People are still watching the show on Disney Channel, Netflix, AND even making new fan edit videos on YouTube; I’m always seeing new videos every week. 

There’s a sprinkle of hope. <3

Trying to move Girl Meets World to another network masterpost

I just want to start off by saying thank you to everyone for helping out, whether it be by signing a petition, commenting about the show, or spreading the word about how we are trying to get it renewed by another network. There’s a lot of information going around about how to try and save the show so I figured making this post might be useful to some. To start off, please don’t be hateful or rude to any cast, crew, writers, or even Disney Channel. This doesn't help in any way and we should be showing other networks like Netflix and Hulu how much the show means to such a huge audience and how it’ll benefit them.

We are trying to get the show picked up by another network, such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Freeform, etc. We gotta make our voices heard and show them just how many people want this show.

The first one is more so to get other networks interested in picking up the show, the second is more directed towards the fact that Disney technically has the rights to the show and they would have to give them up to allow another network to take over it. 

I know a lot of people are focusing on Netflix but Hulu is an option we must seriously consider and fight for since it might be easier to get Disney on board with it.

Contacting Networks:

Call Netflix at 1 (866) 579-7172 and tell them you are looking to see if Netflix could pick up the show at its 4th season and make it a Netflix series since it’s been canceled.

This makes me incredibly happy after what GMW did to Shawn and Angela. It is official, the writers have confirmed it. GMW is ending. I think this is due in part because they did not honor their original characters and mistreated a lot of them, including Shawn and Angela. They did not honor the love that was Shawngela and as a result they are not over with. This is Karma in a sense, and justice to a lot of us Shawngela fans. now maybe we can all stop talking about this show and Shawn and Katy and just relive the show that was the original, Boy Meets World.
