Maybe goblin academia already exists but if it doesn't it has to be a thing and if it does exist it needs to get more following, I'm feral yes, I collect trinkets and shinies yes, but I go feral over museum ceilings and I collect old books and antique jewellery. Visualise this: Reading about the dryads and satyrs of Greek mythology in forests or old libraries. Drinking coffee or hot chocolate in cups made for tea or tea in camping mugs made for coffee or hot chocolate. Going on rainy day hikes to old 18th century follies and leaving gifts for the ancient and made-up spirits that inhabit them. Dancing to In the hall of the mountain king by Edvard Grieg at unholy hours of the morning. Moss reclaiming graveyards. Rummaging around antiques stores and second hand bookshops for the weirdest bits and bobs you can find.

Please tumblr. I beg you. Form an army of goblin academics.

Principles of Goblin Magick (Pt. 1)

These are the principles so far I have created for my goblin witchcraft path. This is a path inspired by the goblincore aesthetic and folklore surrounding these creatures, though I am creating my own goblin culture as well. 

I may update this list in time but this is what I have so far. 

Principles of Goblin Magick; 

1. Belief is a tool and adds power to anything. 

2. Surrounding yourself with objects that make you happy far outweigh what they are or how much they cost. 

3. Comfort in the self, and your individuality is more important than pleasing everyone. 

4. The more you embrace your unique combination of interests, the closer to divine you are. 

5. Nature is a constant wonder and working with it shows we care. 

6. Nothing is broken, it just wants something different in life. 

7. Food that is cooked is meant to be shared. 

8. Adventures wouldn’t be so if you don’t come back with new keepsakes, treasures, mud, injuries, or stories to share. 

9. Nothing in nature is ugly/gross, it just isn’t meant for your specific interests (this includes other people). 

10. If something goes with your ‘unique brand of ugliness’ it’s yours now. I don’t make the rules.

oh to work in a quaint library, spending my days surrounded by peace and the smell of old books. i would decorate my workspace with rocks and leaves. every day i would wear something designed in tweed.

a life like this would maintain a smile on my face. if my life was like this, i would never feel out of place.
