Today I bring you a short and sweet caps bath and a little tutorial on how i clean them from dirt and soil since I mostly collect them from the ground.
This is Lidia, she is a old box of candy that my grandfather used for storing nails, but now she greedily feeds off of caps.
For this recipe you will need:
A container with a little water
A toothbrush with soft bristles
Dish soap
One (1) towel to use like "landing pad"
One (1) smaller towel to dry off the caps
The process is quite easy, you put the dish soap in the water and you can use the toothbrush to scrub away the dirt.
And then the pool party begins.
You can leave the little fellas to soak for a while, after that I usually place them on the landing pad towel I wait for them to dry off a bit, then I use the smaller towel to remove the excess water.
Dirty water.
If you aren't sure if your caps are 100% dry I advice to let them have a jolly sun bath.
And here they are, your now shining treasures! :)
Note: this works best with NOT rusty caps, I am now testing a way to remove rust, my roommate recommended to use vinegar so stay tuned for tomorrow to know if it worked :)

why would you want “romance” and “sex” when you could spend your time collecting these?? *gestures to hoard of shiny objects*

I crocheted my frog teapot, Godrick, a pair of overalls because he is very poorly insulated and needed a cozy.

Really don't like what Goblin Slayer did to pop culture goblins. I liked it better when their hat as a stock fantasy species was being Gremlin knockoffs instead of... well... instead of what they are in Goblin Slayer.

I love collecting trinkets
It can be anything
Just as long as there's a collection of them

Hi!
My best friend's short story collection just came out!! (It's here on Goodreads).
Ancient British myths reimagined
According to stories, we share our world with a menagerie of mysterious creatures. What happens when those creatures appear in the modern world? Do fairies still like traditional offerings of herbs and spices? Do unicorns still live in forests? Do sea serpents still yearn to eat innocent maidens?
This collection of stories brings myths from across the UK to a modern world with offices, cities and fast food restaurants. The consequences are often comedic, sometimes horrific and always surprising.
I haven't written my proper goodreads review for it yet (it's on the agenda) but as a huge queer fairytale fan I loved it!
The style is just delightfully cosy and funny compared to anything I could ever come up with. I also really like that at the end she talks about all of the original versions of the myths, so if you're interested in local folklore from the UK it's also great for that.
Give it a go if you fancy reading about Jack Frost falling in love with the Green Man, goblins running amok in the office printer, ghost dogs and more!
You can talk to her on Twitter or whatever it's called @ficcaholic.

Update on the rusty situation:
I left the caps in the vinegar for 24h, I got a killer migraine so I left them on a towel without rinsing them so, I fucked up. They got rustier then before. Which was upsetting.
But you live and you learn and today we learned something new. Rinse your caps.
So it's soaking part 2 this time I letf them in there only for a few hours, and actually I think the next time I'll use a cloth with a little vinegar.
The process is the same, but I would leave out the toothbrush because I think it scrubbed away some paint of the prints that could have been lifted by the vinegar bath.
Here they are all clean but not 100% free from rust
The rust has left the metal but not the print, I will try to test another method for the next caps I'll find, for now I will keep hearing Salad Fingers in my head every time I'll look at them.
