Hey kid, look at me.

I want you to T-pose. Turn your right thumb up and your left thumb doen and look at your right thumb. Move your arms up and down a bit until you feel a nerve running from your armpit to your palm. Now turn your right thumb down and your left thumb up, and look at your left thumb. Keep your chest facing forward and your shoulders back. Move your arms again until you feel that nerve again. Keep alternating between these two for a minute, or look at each thumb thirty times each.

Now sit down. Put your left hand firmly under your left buttock, palm down. Keep your shoulders back and put your right hand over the crown of your head, very gently pulling it to the right. Do this for thirty seconds, then do it again but with your right hand under your right buttock.

These are stretches for the nerves in your arms, and are very good for people who sit behind a computer a lot, or fibre artists, or you name it. Do them daily. They will hurt in the beginning, but keep doing them, even after the pain has gone, or it will return and you'll have to start all over.

apparently people don't really like first person pov, but that's the style of writing that feels natural to me. first person, present tense. do you know why that is, so i can maybe make my fic more appealing to audiences that aren't usually drawn to that style?

It’s usually because we experience canon content (tv shows and films mostly) through the third person, so first person fanfiction feels alien to read and leaves a much smaller margin for mischaracterization as first person is such an intimate perspective- which isn’t always something that readers care about, but it stands out significantly more.

Some forms of written media, such as novels that were originally written in first person can translate into first person fanfiction a lot easier because it is the form and perspective the audience is most familiar interacting with the media.

I am at risk of telling you to abandon the writing style you enjoy in order to get more interaction, which I don’t want to do. If your goal is to try things other than first person, I’d suggest getting good at writing first person and maybe experiment with third or second on short projects (one shots or the like) to see if there are additional forms you enjoy, like an artist mixing medias. You can also try first-past, third-present, or even second person future tense!

Perhaps try working third person segments into a narrative frame, such as interludes between first person journal entries.

What would you suggest for someone going to buy their first Dildo?

Ask a lot of questions. If you go to a good store they should have a reasonable selection of toys to look through.

Never buy a toy you can smell. Cheap materials are porous and will trap and retain bacteria literally forever and they usually reek. So unless you’re ready to commit to condoms with your toy which you should do anyway for anal use if that’s where you’re putting it then it’s gonna be a breeding ground for bad stuff.

Silicone is your best friend. Non porous, long lasting, it’s an amazing material. Even cheap silicone is miles better than cheap plastic and won’t be subject to the ickies that bad rubber/plastic toys. You can boil it clean, they’re great. Just don’t get it with silicone lube.

Ask to touch, ask for recommendations for your first, and in general lean smaller than you first imagine. Get lube. Your first toy is kinda to build preference. It doesn’t have to be super fancy or have all the bells and whistles, and you don’t want to get stuck with something too big to use. Every toy you buy after that first one will be informed by what you like or dislike about that first one.
