pay attention to how your partner values your time.
i mean this beyond things like how much time you spend at work or how often you answer their text messages.
if you spend hours getting ready for them, do they value that effort? if you plan a meal and do all the shopping and prep and cooking for it, is it just dinner for them? do they notice the small chores you're always doing, or does it just magically "get done" when they're not looking? do they notice when you've spent time for them, or is it just something that is expected to happen?
my ex understood our relationship as some kind of credit service. he would do something large and nice for me maybe once or twice a season - and then "collect" on that credit for a while. my time was not as valuable as his - i was expected to give up my time for things like the upkeep of our relationship, chores, everything. even though i was in school and employed (and honestly doing more than he was), he assumed my time couldn't be better spent. he used to say i was just "better" at the daily stuff. he was my first longterm boyfriend - i hadn't been taught it. it didn't come naturally. it's just that if i didn't do it, he valued his time too much to do it for me.
recently i saw a video of a man smashing a cake into his new wife's face after she explicitly asked him not to. i'm glad that these days, most people don't find it funny. but still, someone comments: girl, just wipe it off and jump back into the party! but the fact of the matter is - even if it wiped off perfectly, even if the makeup only took a few minutes to reapply, even if the dress wasn't ruined by the oil in the icing - she would have to spend time away from her own wedding in order to do it. her new husband - he gets to laugh and sit around and party. she has to leave her loved ones and go be alone to handle the results of his prank. it might be the only day she gets to see some of these people; but that time spent (the makeup, the dress) is just valued less. it's seen as inconsequential.
just... pay attention. is it normal for you to give up your time, but they wouldn't reciprocate? do they consider their hobbies essential while yours are just "useless ways to fill the day"? is going out with their friends a hallowed event that must not be interrupted - but at the same time, you find that you're punished for or banned from similar events. do you do most of the upkeep? do you trust that if you needed to take a break, they'd absolutely pick up the weight? if you spend time and energy and effort on something, is that valued; or is it just a thursday to them.

So you have crawled to the hellsite and are planning to resist the tribulations and stay
Welcome. There is a saying that the devil knows best because he is old, not because he is the devil.
I am that devil here and I've been here for 7 years now. Have some tips.
If no algorithm then how content?
Content gets to you via the people you follow. Everything you see in your dash will be things the people you follow posted or reblogged.
And thus the first thing you should do is start following people whose content you wish to see in your dash. And how do you find those people?
You go to Tumblr's search function, type the name of the fandom or character you want to see content off, and then you'll find a ton of content organized by popularity. Give a click to the posts you like and look around a bit at that person's blog see if you'd like to see them more often. Repeat this as many times as you'd like.
If you'd like to follow smaller blogs, you can set it so the results prioritize recent posts, and thus you'll find newer posts that you can click on and take a look at the blog see if it's to your liking.
There is no easier way than that. Sorry. But the good news is the more you do this, the more posts you'll see on your dash, and the more blogs you will be introduced to like this.
Hey I do not like the person/post that has landed in front of my eyeballs
Good news you are in possession of a very powerful tool called. The block button.
If you see something you despise and that it somehow missed the filtering and blacklist (we will get to that don't worry) you can block the person that posted such heinous things one quick tap/click on their profile pic and you'll be on their blog from where you can push the three dots (in pc)/ little icon person (in mobile) to block that user.
Peoples use the block button very generously, and you should to! Didn't like someone's take? Block. Annoying? Block. The theme of their blog is too saturated so it hurts your eyes? Block.
Block. Block. Block.
Curate your online experience since afterall is yours and also no one will know better than yourselves how you'd like it to look.
And also because inciting drama raises the chances you get blocked, kung pow penised or just obliterated
Any filters? I definitely want things to just never get near me
As obtuse as Tumblr tagging and search system can be, the blocking and filtering feature can do its job arguably well. If you want something banished to the shadow realm you can filter it (so it never even appears on your timeline and searches) or you can block it (so the post will appear in front of you but with the content obscured so you can choose if you have the mental spoons to deal with that today)
To block and/or filter open your blog's settings -> general settings -> visible content
And there will be the option to add tags you wish to filter and/or block.
How interact with posts? (BY REBBLOGING)
Okay reblogging is just one option you have commenting, liking, and reblogging. Let's go one by one
Commenting: by pressing the dialogue bubble icon on the lower right corner of a post it will open the "notes" of the post where you can leave a comment. If you do only op will see a notification, but anyone that opens the notes section can see your comment and @ you to reply
Liking: by pressing the heart icon in the lower right corner of a post, the post will be liked and stored in your personal liked posts (that list can be made private in the settings and I encourage you to do it). That's it. The number of total notes may go up but it serves more as a bookmark than anything else, it won't boost posts. So if you want to boost a post you should Reblog.
Reblogging: before we go in how to reblog is important to stablish a difference.
Rebbloging =/= reposting
Rebbloging means taking a post you see and using Tumblr's function of reblogging it so a copy of it will be in your blog, where the original poster and contributors are still visible and the notes your reblog garners will still go to them, meaning you have helped op further their reach. This is not stealing.
Reposting means taking a photo of a post, or the images on it, downloading it to your phone/pc, and then making your own post with those images and claiming the content is yours so you get all the notes and reach. That is stealing
With that clarified, this refers to the former. To reblogging.
Now. Here is how you reblog.
By pressing the icon of the two arrows pointing at each other you can reblog a post. This means the post you reblogged will appear on your blog and will be visible to the people that follow you. This is how posts get around Tumblr, by being reblogged so they reach more people that will eventually reblog them. Don't worry about the theme or consistency or aesthetics of your blog, you can reblog pretty much whatever (you can even reblog something multiple times but that might be annoying) and it'll be fine.
By reblogging some options open for you.
If you are interested in just spreading the post around, doing a quick reblog (hold reblog icon and drag to the pfp of the blog you wish the post to appear on) is the easiest solution.
A regular reblog opens you to add something to the post, that addition then counts as a post for you, and will get notifications if reblogged.
If you feel you just want to comment or your addition wouldn't fit in a post but still want to add it, the tags are your friends. They are there in theory to help you label things for easier searching, but Tumblr's search function is kinda broken, so they end up being used to comment. Want to show extra love to the op, or yell at them or just add to the chaos you are seeing? put in the tags. All the key smashes, all the I HATE YOU/POS all the blorbos of your shows go there

Funniest idea for a VTM campaign btw, which I’m currently doing, is just to do an among us arc. Did you know the Baali, demon worshipers that they are, have a ritual to turn people from other clans into baali, giving them the clan weakness but not changing other things?
Anyone could be a Baali. Any. One.

Hello!
I'm Short Form Drip! I know that's a strange name, so feel free to just call me Drip for short.
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, I used this blog to work through my depression. I posted about my thoughts, I wrote poems, and I reblogged other folks posts whenever I identified with them.
It's been several years since then. Now, I'm doing much better!
I saw conversations from here that were reposted to YouTube and it looked like Tumblr was a fun place to be. So, I rushed over and logged into my old account. It's genuinely everything I could have hoped for! I'm loving the atmosphere! These days I mostly reblog artwork I like, and boy is there a lot of great artwork here!
I tend to post and reblog about things I like, including:
* Western Style 2D animation in general
* Indie Animated Shows like Murder Drones, The Amazing Digital Circus, Lackadaisy, Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, etc.
* up-encoming artists, art tutorials, and beautiful works of art that don't have anything to do with fandoms I'm a part of.
* Voice Actors I like, including people like Michael Kovoch, Elsie Lovelock, Steve Blum, Keith David, etc. And Voice Acting in general.
* skateboarding, hiking, paintball, camping, and the great outdoors
* And really just anything beautiful or cute, or anything that happens to strike my fancy.
If you also like things like that, feel free to follow! I'm a bit shy, but I enjoy chatting with all sorts. I also enjoy participating in the various games, polls, and such I've seen floating around, although I don't always understand how they work. This is still pretty new to me after all!
No matter what, I appreciate you stopping by, and I hope you're doing well ❤️

Every now and again I go check on the Anime Sickos (hosts of a podcast i like) to see how they're doing on their new tumblr.
Today's Update: they are still frightened and confused, like a stray cat that's inside for the first time.

I don’t think your art is inspiring because you’re shooting for that. For me, you’re just drawing yourself, taking up space. Something girls are taught not to do growing up. You’re proud of your body, you want love and appreciation for it. And you purposely take up space. You might just be a whole mess to you, but you’re conquering things that some of us have had lifelong struggles with. Your love for yourself is coming through in the way you depict yourself. Your self respect and love show too.
I’m not asking you to be a role model or change anything. I’m letting you know that you inspired me because of skills and traits you already have. You made me want to invest in myself more so I could be more happy and settled within myself. My life is falling apart currently- and your art for the first time in a week of stress and anxiety helped me to say “I deserve to take up space, be a mess, and not apologize for it too”.
Do what you gotta do, keep on keepin on you deserve to be you in all shapes forms and functions in these turbulent times. I'll keep doing my best to be an authentic experience for ya 😤👍
