The sad truth is that too many horrible things exist in this world. Humans are cruel, unfair, abusive and so many other things that damage our beautiful universe. This is a big thank you to everyone who still believes in the good - to everyone who made it their mission to be the good. It surely is not easy to find light among this darkness. Sometimes it is truly easier to think about giving up and losing hope. But you do not, which is why you are absolutely remarkable. Thank you for creating light, my love. No matter how big or small - it shines so bright.
An Edmonton woman has been knitting hats for the homeless for years, and this year she'll be donating more than 400 tuques.
"Last year was 363; the year before was also in the 300s," Darlenne Hunneman said.
"I try to get it there before the first 40 below day. My grandchildren take them down for me."
"In November they're all gone, so I start in November to make them again."
The 88-year-old has been legally blind for the last eight years, and she says knitting has taken the place of some of the activities she can no longer do.
"I can make hats. I can turn them out, three or four now, day and afternoon, something like that. And so it's just a way of life with me now."
Actor Luca Calvani and director Conor Allyn discuss working with Amber Heard on ‘In The Fire’.
Conor: I am so happy that Amber went through something so awful, and it didn't change her as a person. She's still the shining, sparkling light... and to go through something that terrible and be able to come out the other side and be whole... I can't imagine, and I'm in the imagination business.
Luca: You have to give credit to the incredible journey this woman has been through, and she can teach us all a couple of things, as far as resilience and courage. Pascal Borno wanted so much for her to be here, to have this experience, about this work, her work, her work that is not just saying the lines, but bringing us together, and cheering us on. I'm inspired and I'm moved deeply by what she's teaching us everyday, just being out there smiling--and making sure we're all alright by the way--
Conor: Looking out for everybody else.
