Santino got hurt but it like brought him a flashback of his childhood of how his father hurt him in a very similar way. So, not only he has a panic attack, but he cries. Like actually he is experiencing this on such an emotional level that he can't even process anything that's happening around him. And John tries to talk to him, wanting to hold him but he can clearly see Santino is just... not here with him. And he feels so bad, and all he can do is make soothing noises and kiss his forehead trying to get him to snap back out of it and to calm down. Plus Santino is hurt, he has to try and help him with that too :(

WOAH okay, more childhood trauma for Santino, I feel so bad for putting him through stuff like this but, John is here for him 😭

The sky was a slate gray expanse over the empty dirt lot where John Wick and his husband were locked in battle with a group of Tarasovs. They were mid-fight when John looked over to see Santino pinned face down. The man on top of him, much bigger and stronger than Santino, had his hand on the back of his head and was deliberately smashing his face into the ground. He brought it up and then down again, hard, and rubbed his nose right into the dirt and rocks so he almost couldn't breathe. It wasn't the most painful position - certainly not more so than being shot or stabbed, which Santino had dealt with before. But it looked fucking humiliating, and he made a sound that told John he had to do something immediately. Not the normal grunts of battle, but something desperate and high pitched. John saw red.

Enough messing around. He snapped the neck of the woman he was wrestling and charged him, knocking him off Santino's back and giving him two swift shots to the chest, point blank, then one straight into the skull. John slowly straightened up, panting, and glanced around at the bodies fallen on all sides. That was the last of them, and he was dead for sure. Good riddance.

Santino was still on the ground. He'd curled his legs up under him and was doubled over, his eyes hidden behind his curls. He was rocking back and forth and just…sobbing. Panicking, yes, but far worse than usual. Taking huge, heaving gasps of air with his hands clutching at his chest like he was having a heart attack.

"Hey, hey, hey!" John dropped to his knees next to him and rested an arm around his shoulders. "He's dead. You're safe." But he barely responded. He was really rattled this time, almost hysterical. "You've gotta calm down, love. Breathe."

His answer was barely directed at John. He just seemed far away, gasping out words to no one in particular. "No…lo so…io…no no no no per favore… [No…I know…I…no no no no please…]" If he said anything else, it was incoherent with sobbing.

John couldn't tell if it was from the dirt in his mouth or another wave of fear but he suddenly turned away and started vomiting.

"Shit! Santino! What's happening? How bad did he hurt you?" He rubbed his back. Why was this happening? Did he have organ damage?

As soon as he could talk, he snapped at John in response. "He didn't, okay!? I'm not hurt. I'm - " Santino shuddered violently and hid his head in his hands. Whatever was wrong, he really didn't want to say it.

John took no offense. He just pulled Santino's head into his lap, petting his hair and wiping dirt off his forehead before leaning down to plant kisses on it in the hope of consoling him. He was hurt, to some extend - there were cuts on his cheeks from being smashed against bits of gravel. But there was clearly more going on. "Take your time. I'm here. Whatever's wrong, I'll help you, okay?" But he just kept crying. "Was there…was there something about getting pushed into the ground like that…?"

Santino went very still and finally nodded, very slowly. The crying stopped, but John was pretty sure it was because he was holding his breath. After a minute, he exhaled and managed to talk, still gasping. "That was something - that my father used to do. When I was - very little. He'd shove my face - in the ground. And slam my head - " Tears cut him off again and he couldn't continue.

John squeezed his hand involuntarily, overcome with rage for a moment. "Fucking bastard," he muttered, almost too low to hear.

Santino gave a choked little laugh. That was the first thing that seemed to make him feel any better. "Yeah. Yeah, he is. It was just, you know. To make me feel like - dirt." His face twisted up again and he hid it in his hands. "I'm so sorry. I'm really losing it. I don't know why that hit me so hard…"

"No." John's voice was hard, protective. "Not your fault. I just want to help you feel better." John pulled him up into his arms, embracing him completely. "You're here with me, okay? You're safe. I won't ever let him hurt you again."

Santino's hands grabbed fistfuls of John's coat, overcome with indignance and shame. "I AM dirt. I'm worthless. All these years later and I still get pinned like that and can't fight back! And I made a mess…"

"You're NOT worthless. You're my wonderful husband. The best man I've ever known. You're so brave. It's not your fault other people have hurt you." John was crying too now, into his hair, just petting him and holding him. The compassion he felt was too deep to contain. "I'm so sorry. You should never have had to go through that."

It seemed to get through to him. His grip relaxed and he buried his head into John neck, sighing and sniffling. "I made you cry too…I'm sorry…"

Just, "No. No apologies. I love you."

"I love you too." After a long moment, he spoke again. "...John?"

"Yeah?"

"My head really hurts. I'm pretty sure...I have a concussion. I - I can tell what this feels like..."

John fought down more fury. He didn't miss the fact that Santino recognized the feeling. Had probably felt it before... He had to take a few deep breaths to calm the blind rage that was making him grip Santino almost too tightly. "We'll get you to a doctor, okay?"

"Thank you. I don't deserve you, John." He sounded miserable but at least the tears were starting to subside.

"You do." One day he would make him believe it.

Well, while I wait for the update to finish (they took the Juju icon away from me, I hate it here! 😭) let me tell you about that one time I watched like 20-30 minutes of Fifty Shades and how that was enough to see what is the problem with that story, because I keep seeing everywhere people saying that the bad ending 2 is a "bad ending for a reason", but nobody says what the reason is? Which IMO if you pay attention to all the routes should be pretty obvious...

Now, before I watched those 30 minutes I used to watch all these videos in YouTube where people make fun of the movie (particularly Alex Meyer channel which is hilarious and Amanda The Jedi and another British angry blond skinny guy with glasses whose name I don't remember, he had a girlfriend) because... well, we all could use a laugh once in a while 😸 so I have a basic knowledge of the plot (?) of the story.

I don't think I need to say it, right? You know: Anna interviews Gray, they meet, they have sex and Gray tries (very stalking-ishh) to convince her to be his sex slave...

The scene I watched was with the 2 of them walking in a lake? and he trying to convince her of this by telling her how he was initiated in the ropes and chains... And Io and behold! I want to puke writing this:

He tells her that when he was 15 (!!!) his adoptive mother's friend (40 I think) had sex with him... Like this... He tells her that he was HER SEX SLAVE for 6 years, he was dominated, sodomized by this woman for six years... And Hey! They are still friends! And ohhh, how liberating that experience was... when he was 15... (God I really want to puke... I haven't been well of my stomach lately)

I don't think I need to say how wrong an adult grooming a kid to have sex is (at 15 they are still kids!!!), but when you use something like ropes and chains to immobilizing them... I can't think in any other word than rape, that's rape dude...

But what makes this worse is Anna's reaction who only says "Oh, a Mrs Robinson"...

Like excuse me Anna but Mrs Robinson didn't fucked a minor, the movie is called THE GRADUATED, HE WAS GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE, AN ADULT. VIRGIN, BUT AN ADULT.

(I went and watched The Graduated BTW, an infinitely better movie, and yes Mrs Robinson was predatory as hell and the scene is very uncomfortable... The guy even seems to dissociates during it, but again, HE WAS AN ADULT)

And well... What it follows to this is a montage of Gray very insistently, to serial killer levels, of asking Anna to sign the contract, sign the contract, sign the contract (what they say is true, if he weren't rich and attractive this would be a triller horror movie) until Anna emails him saying good riddance (playfully).

He shows at her house angry by her response, he ties her and they fuck again (oh, but she CAN'T TOUCH HIM, he claims that what happened to him was great but he can't bear to be touched... I feel like this movie would have been waaaaayyy shorter if Anna just had a little of common sense)

Eventually she signs the contract and blablabla I went to bed...

Now, what is wrong with this? I talked a lot about Anna's response but what is really wrong here is the whole premise of the movie/story because what makes Gray so sexy according to this movie is that he was abused when he was 15!! And now he is repeating that abuse onto others! This is a glorification not only of the sexual abuse of a minor, but also of the abuse cycle/circle.

Another thing that I watched in one of those videos is that Anna isn't the first submissive he has, he had like 6 before... And one of them was so broken that she stalks him and wants to serve him again...

Now, we talk a lot of how Jumin isn't Christian Gray, and yes, Jumin has a lot more going on for him, and he is not as worldly as this Gray dude, he is really innocent. The sad truth is that he is really easy to manipulate once you gain his trust... But the question is: once this MC who got the bad ending 2 is done with him, couldn't he be?

Did this Gray dude had an MC? his first submissive, who told him that it was OK if he did to her the same bad, traumatic things he experienced, to her? The things that make him not want to be touched?

Did he tried to fight this, as Jumin did, until he was convinced that it was okay for this woman?

Imagine what it is to be scared of something, to experience something horrible, and then see yourself doing this exact same, horrible things to someone else, someone LIKE YOU, someone who reminds you of YOURSELF before that moment.

This is what breaks Jumin when he puts Elizabeth in the cage, this is why he says she really must hate him to runaway from him, why he says he was a bad owner, why he hates himself and calls himself mutant. Because he sees himself on Elizabeth, and the abuser (his stepmother/mother) on him. Now imagine this being celebrated by someone you trust.

This is also what breaks Rika when Ray tries to kill himself because she sees her mother on herself in that moment, this is why she needs to blame the RFA, because she can't deal with the guilt.

Now onto the dlc, what our MC has going for her is that at difference of Anna, she doesn't know why Jumin does what he does, like most of the players who played that ending, most likely she thinks is just a kink...

So probably this is were the dlc is going, if the past is discovered and the MC has the right reaction this could be their chance of a good ending...

At today’s Apple developers conference, the company announced that iTunes for desktop — a sprawling octopus of content — is finally being broken up into separate apps, similar to iOS: Music, Podcasts, and TV.

iTunes has already been broken up on iPhone into Music, Podcasts, and TV for a while. Finally, it’s being broken up on desktop too.

The new Podcasts app will have better search, and the TV app will be largely similar to what it is now (with all that new possible extra TV+ jazz announced in March).

In 2015, Apple launched Apple Music, its streaming subscription service answer to Spotify. But Apple Music had an unpleasant side effect for some avid music fans: it replaced the songs you had stored with a version stored in the cloud, sometimes overwriting an obscure demo or version of a song with the more standard version. Syncing between device was supposed to be simple, yet it always seemed vaguely confusing, like at any moment by clicking “OK” you could lose your entire music library.

Soon, when you plug in your phone to back it up and sync it to your computer, iTunes won't automatically open it to try to sync anymore (a nightmare!). You'll be able to work with your device from the Finder instead.

Il 2018 secondo Billboard (parte 2)

La scelta di rimandare questo post al 2019 è volontaria: ho deciso di lasciare questo lavoro in sospeso in modo che prima o poi sentissi il bisogno di completarlo, e il momento migliore per farlo è adesso. Se avessi concluso questo doppio post nel 2018 avrei rischiato di non trovare motivazioni per ricominciare a scrivere quest’anno. Invece questa costrizione auto-imposta spero mi dia la spinta a postare con costanza. Detto questo, riprendiamo.

TOP ARTISTS:

1) Drake: non fingerò di essere sorpreso. E’ quasi un’ovvietà, e lo abbiamo visto nella parte 1: “God’s Plan” è stata la canzone più venduta dell’anno e “Scorpion” è secondo nella classifica degli album. Gli highlights del suo 2018 vedono anche l’EP “Scary Hours”, i singoli “Nice for What” e “In My Feelings” e l’acclamata collaborazione con Travis Scott nella sua “Sicko Mode”. Un anno da dominatore.

2) Post Malone: anche lui presente in entrambe le classifiche della parte 1, deve il suo successo a “beerbongs & bentleys”, e come già detto la scorsa volta, ai singoli che hanno lanciato l’album, permettendogli di stare nella classifica dei migliori artisti praticamente già da maggio. Ad ottobre ha rilasciato “Sunflower”, che fa parte della colonna sonora di “Spider-Man - Un Nuovo Universo” ed il mese successivo ha confermato di essere al lavoro per il suo terzo album. Sono curioso di vedere se riuscirà a bissare le mega-vendite del precedente.

3) Ed Sheeran: anche lui tra i monopolizzatori del 2018, la statistica incredibile è che tutte le sue vendite del 2018 sono solo un’eco di ciò che ha fatto nel 2017, anno di uscita di “(Divide)”: l’album e i singoli ad esso associati non si sono ancora fermati, e forse non lo faranno fino al prossimo disco, che comunque non dovrebbe arrivare prima della fine del tour in corso, con date programmate fino ad agosto. Se dovessi fare una previsione direi che vedrà la luce solo nel 2020, seguendo la regolarità di tre anni che finora sono sempre trascorsi tra un album e l’altro.

4) Taylor Swift: lei si trova solo in una delle classifiche della parte 1, perché i singoli e l’album sono stati rilasciati nel 2017 e seguìti nel 2018 da una manciata di singoli di scarsa rilevanza commerciale. Ciò che l’ha fatta veramente brillare è stato il tour da record che l’ha portata negli stadi di tutto il mondo facendole vincere diversi premi. Il suo anno si è chiuso con la notizia di un nuovo contratto con la Universal. Probabilmente il 2019 sarà un anno di pausa, dopo 18 mesi intensi e archiviati di sicuro nella sezione “successo”.

5) Cardi B: oh, ecco un nome nuovo. Il suo è stato un grande anno, iniziato con la collaborazione con Bruno Mars in “Finesse”, e proseguito con il singolo “Be Careful” a lanciare il suo album di debutto, “Invasion of Privacy”. L’album ha unito critica e pubblico in un unico grande consenso, testimoniato dalle vendite e dalla prima posizione raggiunta in classifica nella prima settimana. Il singolo pubblicato a luglio “I Like It” non ha avuto problemi ad ottenere lo stesso risultato, mentre la collaborazione con i Maroon 5 in “Girls Like You” è risultata nel video più visto su YouTube nel 2018, sfondando il miliardo e mezzo di visualizzazioni. Altri highlights del suo 2018 sono stati i singoli “Money” e “Taki Taki” (di DJ Snake).

TOP NEW ARTISTS:

1) Cardi B: ne abbiamo parlato appena sopra. Il fatto che una nuova artista sia nella top 5 generale dimostra ulteriormente il suo valore. Gli occhi del mondo sono su di lei.

2) XXXTENTACION: nome d’arte di Jahseh Onfroy, il primo singolo del suo 2018 è stato “Shining Like the Northstar” a febbraio, seguito il mese dopo da “Sad!” e “Changes”, che hanno anticipato l’album “?”, piombato subito in prima posizione e che ha consentito ad Onfroy di firmare un contratto da dieci milioni di dollari. Il 18 giugno XXXTENTACION viene ucciso, ma questo non ferma il successo della sua musica. Molti singoli vengono rilasciati postumi, oltre all’album “Skins”, conquistatore di classifiche e prova di cosa Onfroy avrebbe potuto ancora fare se non se ne fosse andato troppo presto.

3) Juice WRLD: il 2018 è stato l’anno del suo esordio discografico: l’album “Goodbye & Good Riddance” è stato anticipato dai singoli “All Girls Are the Same”, “Lucid Dreams” e “Lean Wit Me” e seguito da “Wasted” e “Armed and Dangerous”. Ha pubblicato un EP intitolato “Too Soon…”, dedicato ai colleghi Lil Peep e XXXTENTACION, ed un mixtape insieme a Future. Nel suo 2019 ci sarà un mixtape con Ski Mask the Slump God, annunciato a dicembre e al momento senza data di uscita prevista.

4) Dua Lipa: le prime tre posizioni sono andate ad artisti rap/hip hop che in Italia sono passati inosservati, anche a causa della barriera linguistica, particolarmente ostica quando si tratta di questo genere. Forse Cardi B rappresenta un’eccezione parziale, ma è comunque poco rispetto a quanto successo ha avuto Dua Lipa qui da noi. A gennaio ha portato a casa il Brit Award come miglior British Female Solo Artist e miglior British Breakthrough Act. Ad aprile si è ritrovata in cima alle classifiche di mezza Europa grazie a “One Kiss” insieme a Calvin Harris. La canzone è stata tra le più sentite durante l’ultima estate, e credo che su questo possiate essere d’accordo con me. A settembre, poi, è di nuovo finita in tutte le radio con “Electricity”, prodotta da Diplo e Mark Ronson. Per il 2019 è in programma il suo secondo album, e questo ci assicura almeno un altro anno di singoli da parte sua, sperando che riesca a mantenere la sua tendenza ad andare in cima alle classifiche e a sentirsi dappertutto, che in certi momenti non guasta.

5) 6ix9ine: un altro rapper che da noi si è sentito poco. Il suo primo singolo del 2018 è stato “Keke”, e il mese dopo ha rilasciato il mixtape “Day69″, da cui è stato estratto il discreto singolo “Billy”. Protagonista di controversie nella parte centrale dell’anno, ha pubblicato “Tati” a giugno e “Fefe” in collaborazione con Nicki Minaj il mese dopo. Altri singoli sono “Bebe” e “Stoopid”. A novembre è uscito “Dummy Boy”, il suo primo album, stroncato dalla critica ma che ha venduto abbastanza da permettergli di entrare in questa classifica.

TOP ROCK ALBUMS:

1) “Evolve” - Imagine Dragons: non è la prima volta che vendono tanto, ma questa volta il loro successo ha fatto sorgere diverse domande, che vanno dal semplice valore della band a cosa sia il rock al giorno d’oggi. La risposta all’ultima domanda è semplice: oggi il rock è “Evolve”, un album che apre le porte del rock all’elettronica risultando estremamente moderno, ma non per questo freddo e spento. Sebbene rilasciato nel 2017 e mai in cima alle classifiche settimanali di Billboard, la scia di singoli che ha portato con sé gli ha consentito di mettersi in cima a questa top. L’album non è stato recepito benissimo dalla critica, che l’ha definito “una non-evoluzione”, “senza vita”, “roba da festival estivi”. Pare che il pubblico l’abbia recepito in maniera diversa, ed è giustificabile, perché anche se lascia tante domande dopo il suo ascolto, di certo non è un brutto album.

2) “Pray For The Wicked” - Panic! At The Disco: sesto album per il gruppo, preceduto dai singoli “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” e “High Hopes”, è stato apprezzato dalla critica, che l’ha descritto “frenetico, caotico il giusto, coerente ed eclettico”. Non ha però trovato il plauso di diversi estimatori degli album precedenti della band, che hanno visto in questo una tendenza esagerata al mondo dance e la voglia di essere “eccessivi” usando tanti suoni di cui si sarebbe potuto fare a meno. Ha raggiunto la prima posizione nella Billboard 200 ed è stato certificato Disco d’Oro negli USA e in Canada.

3) “Diamonds” - Elton John: il fatto che al terzo posto ci sia una raccolta pubblicata nel 2017 ci suggerisce che non sia stato un grande anno per il rock e le nuove idee che avrebbero potuto accompagnarlo. “Diamonds” raccoglie 34 brani (51 nella versione deluxe) che ricoprono più di quarantacinque anni di carriera a partire dal 1970. Segue di dieci anni il precedente greatest hits, “Rocket Man: The Definitive Hits” e di uno l’ultimo lavoro in studio, il trentesimo, “Wonderful Crazy Night”. Sono classici che saranno sicuramente amati dai fan di Elton John, e una buona occasione per tutti gli altri per scoprire questo artista.

4) “Night Visions” - Imagine Dragons: rendiamoci conto. Il successo commerciale di “Evolve” ha riportato in alto anche il debutto degli Imagine Dragons, datato 2012. Questo è il sound che i critici si aspettano ancora di sentire dal gruppo, quando ancora era definito “rock” senza farsi troppe domande. Ascoltandolo subito dopo “Evolve” si capisce il senso del discorso, ma se presi singolarmente, i due album si rivelano molto forti senza doversi per forza escludere a vicenda. Trascinato da alcuni dei migliori singoli del gruppo (“Radioactive” e “Demons” su tutti) non ha mai raggiunto la prima posizione settimanale ma è finito in top 10 un po’ dappertutto. E’ stato seguito da un tour mondiale di 145 date e ha ricevuto lodi per le idee creative e la buona performance in studio del gruppo, anche se è stato detto che manca un po’ dell’adrenalina dei primi singoli.

5) “Greatest Hits” - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers: una raccolta per celebrare il compianto Tom Petty, morto nel 2017, e la sua band che per oltre quarant’anni sono stati tra gli esponenti di punta del cosiddetto heartland rock, quello che va dritto alle radici e alla cultura americane. Non è proprio il genere di musica che riesce ad essere esportato con facilità, ma questa diventa comunque un’occasione per arricchirsi e scoprire anche ciò che da noi non arriva “andandoselo a cercare”. Io per primo dovrò acculturarmi di più su di loro, e forse una raccolta sarebbe il perfetto punto di partenza.

Per me questo è tutto. Ovviamente le categorie sono molte di più, ma sarebbe impossibile recuperarle tutte, quindi vi suggerisco di fare un salto sul sito di Billboard per vedere le altre. Io ho considerato solo alcune delle categorie principali, cercando di inquadrare le tendenze e “i vincitori” del 2018.
