[In this World] [Cindytalk] [1988] [CD] "In this world" by Cindytalk was originally released on two different LP's with different tracks and different cover art. Unfortunately these LP's were sold out very quickly. I could only find one of the two. Fortunately the 17 tracks on the two LP's were combined on a single CD in the same year. . On it are 17 tracks of which one is more beautiful than the other. The attempt to describe this extraordinary, partly painfully beautiful music is doomed to failure. . You can't explain Cindytalk, you have to listen to Cindytalk! . . . . .

Cindytalk 🙌 show flyer from 1997/8ish in London. On this night I was introduced to Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins, but was too shy to say very much other than “hi!”. I have a bunch of lovely Cindytalk memories as Cindy (fka Gordon Sharp) is a dear friend of mine, much thanks to a nice guy named Everette who I met thru friends at World Domination Records. Everette sadly has since passed, RIP. He knew I was into Cindytalk, and that I was going to be living in London soon, so he introduced us; I think via phone and letters, then we met in person when I moved there in 1995, though my memory SUCKS so it’s a great big blur! But I do remember Cindy always tried to take me to different kinds of music events that I normally wouldn’t have gone to, always trying to open my eyes to new things. She even put up with my weird obsession with The Cure 🥴😂 and gave me some rad Steve Gullick Cure photos because they are also good friends. Anyway…. Sigh. [Song to the Siren / Sixteen Days]] [This Mortal Coil] [1983] [12inch Single] On the A side of this 12 inch single is the medley "Sixteen Days/Gathering Dust". The songs of this medley were originally written by the New Wave Band "Modern English" "Sixteen Days/Gathering Dust is interpreted here by members of "Cocteau Twins", "Colourbox" and "Modern English" themselves and the singer Gordon Sharp. A very nice 1980s New Wave postpunk song that sounds a bit like a mixture of "The Cure", "Siouxsie and the Banshees" and "Sisters of Mercy". . Now to the actual pearl on the B-side: Already in 1967 Tim Buckley and Larry Beckett wrote the extraordinary great song " Song to the Siren". A song of such power and depth and that only with voice and guitar, a song that could run in an endless loop forever and ever. . 16 years later the incredible happened. The project "This Mortal Coil" created the most breathtaking and magical version of "Song to the Siren". [Secrets and falling] [Cindytalk] [1991] [EP/MiniCD] I have to say it again, nobody can't explain the music of Cindytalk. It is too complex and above all unpredictable. Cindytalk can not be classified. Already the next album will sound completely different! . "Secrets and Falling" is less brutal than, for example, the debut album from 1984 from. Nevertheless, it is as unpredictable and fascinating as actually all works of Cindytalk. . . . . .
