I'm in the ER right now, and being here has given me time to reflect on things.

Life is short, and there is nothing I can do to stop assholes from using AI and stealing shit. It really sucks. But what sucks more is the thought of leaving all the cool friends I made on tumblr behind.

Glaze doesn't work on my art. And honestly I'm sure those fuckers are working to break it cuz they love stealing.

But I dont want to lose my community, and I don't want to stop posting. I can't stop AI, but who knows, maybe that shit will implode in a few years. But I don't wanna give up on my passion because of some soulless gouls.

I guess I'll do what I can: watermark and support my fellow artists. I love commissioning people whose art I admire, and if you have the cash I recommend you commission your favorite human artists. And if you don't have the money- a like, a comment, or a reblog can make a huge difference to a real human artist.

Watching a real person find joy in creating can't be replicated or replaced. Reach out to the art community and let them know you care. Because that's what art is: a community. Its not a corporate stockholder profit machine. Its the living breathing people around you.

And I love you all.

Being in the ER sucks and is scary. But I should be able to go home . I might have to go back if things get bad again. Its a waiting game rn between my body failing and my scheduled surgery in march.

With how things are going right now, my comic update will be behind. I didnt think my health would be like this.

hopefully I'll get my update out sometime in March. I'm hopeful the worst of things are behind me. I want to go home and draw. And just live my life.

ELDEN RING HOT TAKE - BLEED

This is from a PvE standpoint. Most players inflict the status from weapons, which makes sense. I'm actual fine with BLEED as a mechanic, but I don't like how FromSoft implemented it.

Blood loss, as an IRL ailment, happens when an injury is inflicted that causes large amounts of blood to be loss through a wound. It's not contagious, it can't be inflicted by proximity. It's purely physical.

So why is it that puddles of blood loss exist in elden ring, Fromsoft? Flames of blood loss? How does that even work? Is it hot or cold, pick one. I'm mainly talking about the Sanguine nobles shit ass blood puddle AOE that not only slows you down but builds bleed proc and Mogh's hellish blood flame piss that covers his arena everytime he swings his goddamn trident!

It doesn't make sense fromsoft! That not how blood loss works! I know they're blood themed but that shit sucks ass. I'm fine with their weapons inflicting heavy bleed status but I draw the line at arbitrary, shoehorned shit like CLOUDS of fucking blood loss. I didn't forget about those exploding blood goul bastards. It's just UNFUN to fucking deal with.

In the darkness, metal squeaks and cracks. A rifle brown with muck and rusted through the trigger guard throws a bullet, tumbling over itself from imperfect balances of pressure, across the street and into the gut of a pedestrian.

He reels, clutching his stomach as he stumbles forward. Frantic feet fumble around him, not quite sure what's happening, and not quite sure where to go. The reports of gunfire, echoing softly between the concrete buildings high above dissipate in the crowd much as the neon lighting does - blinding one back, one ear, one face in intensity - the rest cursed and damned to shadow so deep it bleeds with the life that cannot live in the stark bright. He stumbles into others through the uncertain illumination, hawkers, tourists, other commuters just like him, and his blood gives them a new kind of fear. Fear of association. It spreads through the crowd like wildfire, each new victim fleeing the source, each with less idea its cause than the last.

The rifle cracks again, flinging another knut-sized bullet through the mayhem. The man is caught in the head and shatters, fragments of skull barely clinging to the skin that holds them in place, grey mush misting over the clockwork trinkets of a curiosity peddler behind him - the intruding bullet itself extruding towards the toys - shattering two in a shower of sparks, and lodging itself deep in the thigh of their unfortunate father.

The brainless man crumples, face shattered and molding into some draping of leather over loose chunks of metal, a visage itself drawing more screaming and pandemonium from the crowds than the gunshots and blood preceding.

The gunner looks on from the alley, judging her target as dead, and takes her leave, disappearing into the shadows. She walks with a meandering pace, rifle's butt hung snug to her hip. A long coat draped over crates three buildings down conceals it, when donned.

Pausing, and with a practiced pinch, she drags a small notebook from an inside breast pocket, looking at each of the pages.

Goul, the first reads, Date: 17 of 10 of 502. Locale: Wickson Ranch. The second page is simply titled, Gore Hag, with the date and locale empty. It continues for page after page, some filled out, others not, until she arrives near the back. Three pages from the end, Lesser Vampire. She pulls a slender stick from the spine, and etches into the page with no uncertain or gentle force; 29 of 2 of 504 and Bramble Avenue, Caryton.

With a soft brush, the stick returns to the spine, and with a press and a click, a card slides from under her left eye. She places it at the bottom of the page, closes the notebook, and returns it to her coat pocket.

Leaving the maze of allyways a few minutes later, she rejoins the bustle of the crowd - just another pedestrian. Just another cog in the machine.
