The #$%^&* Royal Commission
These days, every week there are calls for a Federal ICAC, or another Royal Commission, or Board of Inquiry, or internal review, or report into another scandal.
These are always being called by one group in an effort to either attack an opponent or appease some members of the constituency.  That is why we had to have a Royal Commission into trade unions and why we have had about a thousand commissions into black deaths in custody and bridging the gap, but very little changes.
Seems like the system isn’t working, doesn’t it?
Because it isn’t.  The problem we have is that the fundamentals of our Westminster based government are broken.
We have institutionalised the bias by creating a system for lobbyists and money to be paid to politicians. This makes sure that the bias happens all the time and for everything.  Like I talked about in my first post, you have to get the money out of politics, if you ever want to fix the government.
What’s more successive governments of both persuasions have made the public service into a political play thing.  Many positions have become highly politicised, with senior executive staff changing based on which side of politics is in power.  What’s more we have seen a hollowing out, over the last 20 years, of any real policy capability in most governments around Australia.  In part this is so that the government can spend a lot more money on consultants. So instead of employing a person in house to give advice, they remove the position and but the same advice back at 4-5 times the price from a Big 4 Advisory house or one of the hundreds of second tier boutique advisory facilities that specialise in Government advice.  These are generally staffed by ex-public servants and many of them have ties to lobbyists, donate to political parties, or employ ex politicians in senior management positions.
A foundation of our government is supposed to be the independent, non-partisan civil service that provides frank and fearless advice to the decision makers of the day based on significant experience, capability and high moral standing.  Instead the central agencies of the public service have, in part become a place that employs the party faithful to engage consultants to give the advice the politicians want to hear.
This means that instead of having the best and the brightest developing policy reform and leading the development of new strategies for our Nation and State, we get political hacks that are focussed on growing their powerbase and bringing in money for the party.
How do we fix it? Easy – get rid of private money from politics and properly invest in building a public service that can actually do the job properly and without fear of intervention and recrimination from politicians.
I think that a good Audit office with broad ranging responsibility would also be a good thing, to provide proper transparency on the machinery of government.  This could help get rid of some of the closed shop, shonkery that occurs in places like the LGAQ, the Infrastructure Sector and the building and property development sectors.  But I will save that for another article.

With the COVID PANDEMIC running rampant in our nation and our government not choosing to tell us that now would be an excellent time to focus on becoming a healthier nation. Focus on eating better, proper supplementation, exercise, and water. Gyms are closed, and fast food is open. This is my tool to focus on my cardio and getting my health back along with a mini home gym. Remember, the government won't help you be healthy; it's up to you! --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- #inlineskating #inlinespeedskating #skating #skatingforfitness #homegym #homegymequipment #myfitnesstools #fitnesstools #yourhealth #yourhealthyourchoice #reclaimyourhealth #governmentfail #exerciseisessential #fastfoodisnotessential #covid19 #covid_19 #immunesupport #immunebooster #healthyimmunesystem #exercisedaily #makeyourowngym (at Central Valley Nutrition) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDEwpoEHznt/?igshid=avsmfaa5rzjq

There are no words to express how utterly saddened and angry I am with the state of the world right now. If 2020 hadn’t been a shit year enough, we’ve now got more blood on our hands and an administration that proves time and time again that they don’t care about anyone but their own. I refuse to be like that. We can donate but we can’t protest by doing anything other than supporting this and using our privilege to help those that don’t have it. All I can say is fire is catching...this is a new Civil Rights movement and if you refuse to stand up, in any way, you are part of the problem. #blackoutday2020 #fireiscatching @blklivesmatter #civilrights #ifweburnyouburnwithus #governmentfail #georgefloyd #saytheirnames https://www.instagram.com/p/CA8ckT1lz_UwKnBWLgOZrY7aZKgPi4WyB07adA0/?igshid=zdx0vuwn4mmt

Validating my thoughts on Covid
coIn 12 years of writing, I continue to write the facts, the universal truths… and I have never steered off doing that.
Below is a reply from a response on my website from Lisa that validates one of my recent Covid-19 blogs… It’s always nice to get the validation on what I write.
Website response
“I’m one of those people who have just caught the virus for the first time. I work in a primary school, where it was inevitable, as the government removed the protections last month.
I’m really angry that I’ve been forcibly infected (the way I see it) and the children I work with are already on their 3rd or 4th infections (again, forcibly infected).
When I return to work, I will be masked because I do not want this again and as CV, cannot risk the repeated damage this virus will do to my body. In fact, nobody, whether they have pre-existing health conditions, or not, should risk repeated infections for this reason.
I’m now food shopping on click and collect again, as so many people are unmasked now in shops. And avoiding other shops generally, apart from the pharmacy.
This is all only serving to divide people now, into those who don’t care and lead their lives as normal, and those (like us) who feel unable to do normal things because others don’t care, and don’t mask, or attend work when, they’re positive.
No matter where you are, whether you have had Covid, whether you understand Covid implications, scientists are working on finding a cure, but it is untreatable right now.”
The pandemic is winning
No matter which side you’re on, there’s one thing for sure, the pandemic is winning here. It doesn’t care whose life it has touched, or whether it’s going to continue to touch more of our lives in the future.
My changed life
My life is completely changed (like thousands of other vulnerable and clinically vulnerable people’s lives) because I am high risk. I am home because restrictions have been lifted.
The UK government is to blame
The UK government is the reason I am home. Like others also in this position, we used to have a life. Around the vaccine, many of you who were vaccinated early on, will now not be protected because the vaccine efficacy will have worn off, leaving exposure to the virus.
The pandemic shut down
Before the pandemic was shut down by the UK government there was word about a new better formulated vaccine, what will happen to that now since the vaccine is underground? As Lisa has pointed out schools are struggling. They are continually being exposed, as are teachers, teaching your children. Children have died from the virus and they’re getting sick.
Ignoring the facts doesn’t mean those facts go away
Ignoring something, doesn’t mean that something doesn’t exist, or it goes away. Lisa’s response rings true for me. Where the UK government doesn’t care, the wider population need to care and look out for each other.
I used to have a life and I’d write before Covid. Now my life only revolves around my writing. I have no life. But no matter which side you’re on, the country and world are divided, but the facts remain.
The universal truths I write about don’t stop being universal truths because they’re ignored. We ignore them at our peril.
Getting caught out
You can still get caught out and catch Covid. You can still get ill or chronically ill. In worst case scenarios, you can lose your life. The virus doesn’t care. The latest Omicron variant and us being told it is mild by Government scientists, isn’t corroborated by the independents, as confirmed by WHO. (Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk)
We should continue to protect each other
But no matter whose side you’re on, we should agree that we all need protecting. With the precautionary measures, we may all stay safe.
All the issues I write about on my blog are to do with mental and emotional health. Covid-19 is exactly the time to make mental health a priority and emerse in one of my books.
Why not take advantage of the Amazon Kindle offer for the month of March for ‘Spirituality, Healing and Me’ at a much reduced price of ONLY 0.99p – just follow the link http://amzn.to/3ptNJGG

Government Stupidity All Day, Every Day
Me: I have a question about the new VAT system.
VAT Hotline: Yes it is happening.
Me: ...No I know that. I have a question regarding [technical crap about forms and implementation]?
VAT Hotline: Oh. Yeah, no idea. We don't know about that.
Me: So the hotline is just to tell people yes it's happening without any clue how it's happening?
VAT Hotline: Basically.

I just HAD to #repost this from my girl, @esoteric_divine . When will we wake up to the lies this place is feeding us? They spew out these scare tactics to keep you small, in your place, and afraid to ask questions. It is time to rebuke the fear and live in joy, happiness, and peace. #governmentfail #americaisgoingtokillusall
