OK also I remember reading someone making posts on here that his actual role/dynamic in AA4 with regards to like, Zak, is actually pretty interesting. It did make me curious to replay AA4 and pay greater attention to that (alas I'm still stuck on 2-4 in my Chinese playthrough, haha, but... we'll get there. eventually. hopefully)

So Mr Brushel has really been built up in this sort of, stereotyped Undesirable way in the fandom, which is fair, I engage in that, you're engaging in it right now (lol) but when a character is thoroughly boxed in as some sort of Archetype like that, it can be interesting to observe them in a neutral sense without that getting in the way. When a character regularly has this oversimplified lens applied to them in the way they're engaged with/observed by fandom (or whatever other relevant medium e.g. popular culture at large if a character is famous enough) when you actually look at the minutiae of the character, they can become complex quite easily if even the slightest thing about them seems to "conflict" with popular oversimplified perception. It becomes a question of like, why does x not match how people generally see the character? Why does x aspect get ignored or brushed over? and then you're analysing not just the character-as-is and the construction of these audience perceptions, but the factors that have gone into it. I think he can be interesting in that sense. I havent engaged again with AA4 in a long time though I plan to get around to it, so sadly I dont remember much about him. But I'm interested to see if there is anything interesting there going on.

I had to go look for it - re: JD cosplaying CM Punk in the music video, I wouldn't be surprised if it that was Actually the deliberate reference - Punk is one of two wrestlers (the other being Bryan Danielson Daniel Bryan) he namedrops in an interview in which Beat the Champ is brought up (he also talks about crying like a child when his Literal Actual Hero Chavo Guerrero retweeted stuff about The Legend of Chavo Guerrero; it's a very nice interview in general)

hello!!!! i don't know if you actually wanted an answer, but i once googled how people know there's gonna be little guys in rocks!! and part is apparently geological maps, because they're more likely to be In Certain Places, and then it has to be specific kinds of rocks (sedimentary ones) and also often if you know what you're doing you can apparently go by size and shape and then also see faint outlines of shells or bones on the outside!! i love geology it's very cool
