My favorite tododeku is actually one-sided love and devotion from Shoto, because the thought of Shoto either gradually or suddenly realizing just how much he owes this boy his life and that he'd give the world to him- then recognizing he's just another friend and person he saved is like...so compelling to me.

He's among your closest friends. You also scared the shit out of him around first knowing each other. Soon after that he also changed your life forever for the better. You've saved your friends and others together. Your family is also fond of him.

When he came back after running away, you earnestly made sure he was okay- asking if he'd prefer to rest and wrapping him in warmth. He's so much, he's so beautiful, he's so kind and strong, and he's taught you to be so much kinder and stronger too...but you're not the only one. Far from it. You're not special, Shoto, you're just a friend.

Physically; I’m procrastinating.

Mentally; I’m thinking about a new crowned Rhaenyra Targereyan in a world where the dance didn’t take place and Alicent confessed to her under the Godswood Tree instead of meeting with Viserys at her father’s behest and she melted. Transcendent into another plane where only elation and pleasure existed, intertwined like the branches of the Godswood Tree and holding the breath of dragon fire.

From then on, she could only see Alicent. Her eyes, her curl of hair, her bruised cubicles, her everything. Rhaenyra was unequivocally, uncomprehendingly, maddeningly in love.

And she was the queen of the seven kingdoms.

She was in love with alicent. She was the supreme ruler of Westeros.

She was going to make Alicent her Queen Consort.

Because who the hell was gonna stop her?

The fucking faith.

The faith of Seven would not allow one Queen, let alone two. It wasn’t happening. It couldn’t. Even Alicent said so. She’d lay by Rhaenyra’s bedside, cradled in her arms, and she’d whisper all the things they couldn’t be and how it had to be enough. And Rhaenyra would rage and seethe, mourn and cry, but alicent would soothe her. Always.

Until Otto Fucking Hightower tries to marry off Alicent to some high-born pompous and Rhaenyra declares them to be wed against all sense and warning. And would you know it, it totally doesn’t fly.

Otto arranges Alicent to be sent back to Old Town and the Seven vehemently oppose the declaration to the point of conspiracy for usurpation.

At which point, Rhaenyra very calmly, very rationally, climbs on top of Syrax, flys to one of the largest Septs in all of King’s landing and burns it all to the ground.

She razes it to the ground and declares once again; Alicent Hightower to be her Queen Consort. However mad she is called, however irrational and unequipped she is called as Queen, Rhaenyra stands her ground, Alicent’s struck awed at her side, and no one questions her rule again.

Alicent, on the other hand, was righteously horrified. A religious sanctuary burned to ash, high priests and men and women alike molted into wisps of bone and smoke. It’s not what she wanted. At all. How could Rhaenyra think this the right course of action? How-

“I would smite gods for your love. Anything or anyone that dares to keep it away from me and mine, I would set fire to with Dragon breath for there nothing worse than the absence of your love.”

It’s a profound sentiment and Alicent can’t help but feel horrified, terrified, at how she reciprocates.

Giggling over the idea of referring to Johan as your “boyfriend” cause calling him that sounds absolutely insane idk. Like if he ever got into a relationship with darling they’re not gonna jump straight to marriage (despite what he might want) so like what else is there, but also it’s HILARIOUS referring to him as your boyfriend idk why it cracks me up i just can’t begin to imagine it

a part of him feels pleased because it's one step to being closer or something, but another part of him lowkey feels disappointed because he thinks that term does not even come close to sufficiently describing what he is to you. (Or at least what he is to you in his head.)

I actually have this scenario where his slight nihilism doesn't care what label you put on him. Labels are just smaller categorizations people use to help them breakdown or understand things anyway. And sometimes labels can be very limiting. So if calling him your "boyfriend" helps you then fine..... just know that he's already ruminating on the different ways he could safely and surgically engrave your name into his bones.

I will…discuss Hawke.” He leaned forward over his desk; it was a gesture, she thought, meant less to evoke authority than to simply steady himself as he braced against the unpleasant tide of memory. His eyes found hers for only a moment, but that moment was all it took for her to understand perhaps ‘unpleasant’ was too delicate a word to describe a return to Kirkwall. Perhaps ‘agonizing,’ would’ve been the better fit. ‘Wretched.’

But yes 😌 we've talked about it before, how when Lexa mostly gets really happy or satisfied, that will be expressed through her magic, mostly because she has such a hard time expression her feelings (Clarke will also make the sun shine brighter if she's happy but it doesn't manifest through her magic as much as Lexa's does).

It's not permanent so the growth of the plants does retrieve after a few hours to a couple of days, but the fact that they live in the middle of the woods really makes their entire house covered in plants when Clarke decides she wants to make Lexa cum over and over again. Lexa does get a little embarrassed when she goes outside and sees the damage. For Clarke, tho, that's a trophy. Thats a "congrats on fucking well champ" badge!

And thank you 🥰 i think the earth tones and fluidity of the style fit a nature witch Lexa really well. Its cute and fashionable while still being something Lexa doesn't have to spend much time thinking about because her wardrobe matches all pretty well!

I’m probably reading too much into it, but there’s a subtext subplot about the Beast and self-love in Beauty and the Beast (1991) that deserves some attention: 

The beast needs and has a character growth arc. There’s a subtext that he has associated his self-worth (and his ability to change) with his appearance, believing that he is incapable of growth and rescue because he is a beast (and a bad person, because the outward beastliness is supposed to represent his inward beastliness? Idk, I haven’t thought that far). His arc is discovering that he is in fact capable of those things regardless of being a beast. 

-Like, yes the character arc is how he goes from a beast of a person to an actual good person, but the understated part of the story is how he has been wasting away for years, growing ever-increasingly frustrated, hopeless, and beastly, and all this rage is being truly directed inwards at himself. The prologue spells out his character arc with “For who could ever love a beast?”. It’s his internal question, believing himself to be unworthy of love 

-Upon coming face-to-face with the father, his immediate accusations are ”What are you staring at? So you’ve come to stare at the beast, have you?”, projecting his greatest fear and insecurity 

-He’s shocked by Belle’s choice to take her father’s place. He literally is unfamiliar with genuine love

-On the first night, to the servants, he complains ”It’s no use. She’s so beautiful, and I’m- well look at me!” He’s giving up before ever even trying. He believes trying to break the spell is completely pointless because he is unacceptable and unworthy of the genuine love that he knows Belle is capable of

-Belle really doesn’t do anything to make him more refined. She encourages his gentleness and passions through reading, playing, being with animals, and dancing. But it’s the servants who make him act human and more gentlemanly. Reconnecting with his humanity, his place in society, and the tenderness of his soul allows him to surprise himself by growing and slowly taking pride and love in himself 

-The way that this self-love is not selfish but is connected to his love for Belle/others. (This is just me harping on the 2017 version), but he asks firsts if she is happy with him and is satisfied, and then upon seeing that she’s upset, sets aside his own feelings and focuses on her. The love he has been shown by Belle and the servants teaches him how to show love to himself and others back.

-The color scheme of the BATB (discussed here), showing a growing confidence in himself, his skill, and his love 

-In the first half, he chooses the rose (his worst fears of being unlovable) over Belle, and shows regret. But later on, he choose Belle over the rose. He gives her up, and not because he still believes he is unworthy of love, but however he still doesn’t see value and worth in his life 

-He allows Gaston to nearly kill him because he doesn’t see value in his life, and it’s only once Belle comes back for him, a beast, does he finally understand that he matters and has value exactly as he is and fights for his life 

-And most importantly, and the movie harps on this big time, it’s his own choices and love (not other people doing the work for him) that makes him control his worst impulses (e.g. sparing Gaston rather than killing him) and his temper, the worst of his inward/outward beastliness (GET OUT vs Get. Out. )

-The transformation scene focuses on him, giving him this saintly, magical glow that represents the purifying of this inward/outward beastliness. He would never have been able to get to this transformation however, no matter how much Belle loved him, if he himself did not believe that he was worthy of love and capable of and acted to change and grow. The audience feels pride in seeing him change because we know that this is a moment he and all the characters have been working for so long and for so hard for. Growth was possible. Love was possible. Self-love was possible
