i always find it so interesting to find out which project or episode or bit epitomises every hermit to other people. like the deep field pinball machine (season 9) is the Joe Hills-iest Joe Hills project to me, and Tortuga (season 6) is the most Cleo.

Stress waved Jevin inside. "Is that everybody who's coming?"

"I think so, yeah."

Stress led Jevin to a sizable room deeper in her castle, decorated heavily with purple glass and allium flowers, where Xisuma and Joe waited and Doc paced.

"This must be everyone," Doc agreed anxiously. "Whatever's killing us even took down Falsie with barely a fight! How many of us could possibly have gotten away?"

"There are a few hermits who didn't feel the need to come here for security," Joe replied. "Tango and Cleo, of course - Jevin, I'm surprised you dropped by, although of course there's nothing wrong with that - and then Zedaph, TFC, and Iskall have all found safety in their own homes."

"I fink Iskall's comin' here, actually," Stress corrected.

Joe perked up. "Oh that's fantastic, then! Hopefully he makes it here with all his blood where it's supposed to be."

"Yeah," Stress answered absently, poking through some chests. "Better 'ere than goin' for somebody else, that way I can deal wiv 'im."

"Wait," Xisuma realized. "You said deal with him?"

They were interrupted by an angry hissing near the door - not the single rush of air of a creeper, but something harsher, somehow both more human and completely inhuman.

"That'll be 'im, then. Ah!" Stress finally found what she was looking for: a wooden sword. "Right, I'm going out there."

Jevin eyed Stress's choice of weapon skeptically. "Do you... want some backup?"

Stress unfastened her allium flower crown and looped it around her neck. "I got a handle on this, fanks! You can come along if you want, though, seein' as I don't fink 'e'll go for you. Here, hold this."

Jevin took the allium offered to him. "Uh. Okay."

Stress strode out to the entrance of her castle. There, the two of them saw... Iskall.

He stood at the doorway, not approaching further. His right eye was red, and there was a reddish glow behind the diamond in his left. As Stress came closer, Iskall bared sharp fangs.

"Iskall is a vampire??" Jevin blurted.

"Yep." Stress walked right up to him. Iskall made a motion as if to lunge, but halted some distance from her neck. Stress rolled up her sleeves, showing off another allium tied around her right wrist like a bracelet... then plunged the wooden sword directly into Iskall's heart.

Iskall let out another hiss as he vanished. Stress breathed a sigh of relief and returned her allium necklace to her head with a pin. "An' that's that. I hate to do it, but sometimes 'e just gets like that."

"What." Jevin stared, dumbfounded. "What just happened. What about the other hermits?"

"Oh, now that the vampire what drained 'em is dead, everyone will have the chance to respawn normally," Stress explained. "Includin' Iskall himself. 'E'll feel kinda hungover an' probably really guilty, but 'e'll be actin' normal again for a while."

"How did you know that... any of this would work?"

Stress laughed. "Are you kidding me? Wiv how long I've known Iskall? This ain't the first time this has happened. It's 'alf the reason I keep so many alliums around, besides the fact that they're pretty. Gotta be careful when you're neighborin' a vampire!"

ASSUMPTION WITH PYTHON X GRIAN

Hermit Headcanons

All of these have been swirling around in my brain and I need to put them to rest XD

All of the Hermits have indeed planned a beach day where they all find a tropical ocean close to a beach to enjoy the last dregs of summer!

Tango and Impulse have fun with various beach games like frisbees, badminton and making a game out of not touching the waves whilst Grian and Zedaph try to tackle into the water (Grian uses his wings to cheat :P)

Later they drag most of the hermits into a massive Beach Volley Ball Battle with Tango, Grian, Mumbo, Doc and False on one team and Impulse, Cleo, Zedaph, Joe and Ren on the other team (Doc and False carried their team to victory despite how hard the others tried XD)

Xisuma and Ex spend a lot of time under the water exploring the reef in their water proof suits, whilst above them Grian and Ren attempt to surf (Xisuma may need to save them from being swept away a few times whilst Ex laughed at their failed attempts)

TFC enjoys himself chatting to Cub, Doc and Python in between naps and fishing like the chill old dude he is. (He absolutely thought he caught a massive shark once, yet when he reeled it in it was just Grian looking like a drowned cat who then spit seawater at him... TFC decided to chuck him back to the waves)

Cub and Scar are in charge of food and beverages (which they try to make the hermits pay for until Stress breaks out the sandwiches and crisps whilst Wels breaks out the sodas and ice teas)

There is a Large Dispute between the Americans and British memebers over what you call the fried treats ( a few sandwiches end up sandy and many hermits squirted with sun cream in the ensuing scrap)

Grian 100% pours sand into Mumbos drink (which promptly ends with Grians head shoved into the sand trying to escape)

Iskall and Xisuma break out a portable bbq and grill up some burgers, hot dogs and skewers (False and Iskall May have had a sword battle with the wooden skewers)

Stress mainly stays under a parasol the whole time, yet later when it wasn’t as hot, her, Iskall, Wels and Grian all went out into the water to splash eachother, Iskall with a pair of snorkelling goggles to protect his eye

As the sun sets the hermits set up a quick fire pit to make S’mores and tell jokes. Then after the treats they set up a juke box to dance.

At the end many hermits left for their own base’s, with Ren and Cub using the RV’s from the Hippy Compound to drive home a few sleepy hermits too tired to fly safely home (namely Grian, Mumbo, Cleo, Joe and surprisingly Ex (yes they definitely sharpied a moustache and monocle on his suit helmet)

13. Python x Grian?

(I’m going off this as demise so Grian dies first)  Python isn’t even surprised but now Grian’s asking him to hug him like 24/7 bc Grian doesn’t produce heat anymore as he��s a grey skin Python doesn’t mind that nor his new sudden appearance. Since Grian died from tnt he has blast marks all over himself. Python tried to clean them off once but it doesn’t work Grian tries his best not to eat rotten flesh in front of Python, as is kinda disgust him  Nothing really changes except way more hugs and countless hours of trying to fix Grian’s hair that seems to never go back to normal till he become resurrected Oh yeah when he’s sideways after demise? Python doesn’t even know what to do with him at that point

One time Cleo got annoyed at Joe and proceeded to spend a solid month referring to him exclusively as Gregory. The results:

Several hermits (including Xisuma, Stress, Wels, Jevin, and Biffa) rolling their eyes and/or chuckling but otherwise not joining in.

Several hermits (including Iskall, Tango, Cub, Ren, and False) joining in on the joke

Several hermits (including Zedaph, Mumbo, Scar, Python, and Impulse) getting really confused because his name is Joe, right? They're just joking, his name isn't actually Gregory- but what if it is? What if his name is actually- I don't know what's real anymore...

TFC managing to miss the entire thing.

Joe Gregory going through a grand total of sixty-two existential crisis in the most Joe Gregory way possible and sarcastically changing his branding for a while.

Gregory sticking around as a nickname even after everyone went back to using his real name, mostly used when being shouted in exasperation.

A change in seasons midway through, introducing New Hermit Grian, who was very confused until X explained.

Etho only finding out about it after the fact and randomly referring to people (not just Joe) as Gregory, often with no context as to who he's actually talking about.

With Foolish and Puffy trolling their viewers by pretending they were invited to Hermitcraft on April Fools, I’m thinking about potential new hermits again...

Hermits (especially Xisuma) have emphasised multiple times that personality is very important. Even if you have the best Minecraft skills in the world, if your personality/ style doesn’t mash with the hermits, it’s a no. Because they’re a close knit community of friends. You don’t ask to join Hermitcraft, the hermits ask you to join.

Often the hermits themselves are friends before Hermitcraft. Mindcrack. X and at least False and Mumbo shared a server (Geomine?) before Hermitcraft. Team ZIT was in another server. And of course Kingdomcraft.

The merging of Kingdomcraft and Hermitcraft in S4 (with Python as the bridge) is probably the only time something like this will happen. And often, the new hermits are friends of at least one existing hermit.

My knowledge of earlier seasons are blurry, pardon any mistakes or missing out something.

Some Season 2 new hermits:

False and Mumbo knew X from Geomine in 2012

Jevin met Hypno at Minecon

Cleo knew Joe

Some Season 3 new hermits:

Doc and Etho knew each other from Mindcrack. Both were and still are regarded as highly respected Minecraft veterans.

Impulse and Tango knew each other too iirc

The Season 4 new hermits were all Kingdomcrafters. I don’t know if they knew anyone except Python, but the group got along very quickly with the Logfellars drama which involved quite a lot of the Kingdomcrafters (eg. Ren, Iskall) and the Hermitcraft OGs (eg. X, False).

Season 5 new hermits:

Stress was part of Kingdomcraft, did collabs with Iskall

Zedaph is part of Team ZIT

And of course, the Season 6 new hermit, the famous Grian, who knew at least Mumbo and maybe met a few others at Minecon (Grian was in a lift with Doc at one point).

So we can see from modern Hermitcraft (S4-7, although S4 is a stretch), ALL new hermits are friends of existing hermits. Notably, HC7 did not have any new hermits (the first season to do so), and instead had old hermits returning.

So. Do you think there’ll be new hermits in HC8?

Also how will the Ranboo war end? Like outsiders step in and stopping Dream?

Ranboo’s side wins, but only because all of the hermits step in to help. Tubbo sends Tommy to get them, because Tommy is better at world hoping then the others. Tubbo hacks into Hermitcraft for Tommy, Tommy pleads their case and False+Ren+Grian+Cub recognise Tommy from MCC and go ‘yeah, lets help them’.

When Tommy explains who Ran is, Xisuma, Tango and Joe leave for a moment before coming back completely decked out in netherrite, ready to fight for the kid. 

Grian gets to prove that ‘Dreamslayer’ is his last name for a reason as well!

The battle does last long, the hermits aren’t used to fighting for a serious cause, and they aren’t used to proper battle plans besides ‘give them hell and have fun’. It’s only when Hels and Evil X show up when the battles get more serious, Hels and Evil X joining Dream’s side to ‘go against the hermits’ (when in reality they’re spies, and better at it than Mumbo).

The hermits nearly call in Python and Legacy smp for backup. It was rough, and it took months for proper treaties to be drawn, and even longer for Ran to feel safe on the server.

Mumbo: Thin mech wings with redstone/red holographic webbing

Xisuma: Black pterodactyl wings with green tips and some green spots littering the backs of them

Iskall: Don’t judge me but like......Fairy/Insect wings of some kind, green ones obvs

False: Seagull

Ren: Flamingo (don’t judge)

Doc: 1 webbed wing matching his general skin pattern and 1 robotic wing kinda like Mumbo’s

Bdubs: Dark grey-blue webbed wings topped with feathers

Cub: Vex (Grey)

Scar: Vex (Aqua)

Impulse: Black feathered wings with yellow tipped feathers

The only reason the Shape Shifting Face Stealer series exists is because of this post from @hermitcraftheadcanons and my responses to it. Some other posts from other bloggers and this one added to it.

Now? All of the Hermits are either not human, or humans with something else maybe.

X is basically Koh from ATLA taken to the extreme.

Grian is an avian from the Aether that has really small wings, and he never explains as to why his wings are that large now.

Mumbo’s a vampire. Not many of the Hermits figured it out, and those that did get redstone as an answer when they ask what the man drinks

Both Doc and Python are creeper cyborgs.

The Hermits know that Etho’s a hybrid, they’re just not sure as to what type he is

Cleo’s body isn’t actually her’s, she’s a creature that’s possessing that body. Only Joe and X know what she is.

Joe’s a shape shifter and a seer, and Ren’s a werewolf. Neither explain how they got those abilities.

Keralis, Iskall, and Zedaph are mostly human, but they’re part bee, elf, and sheep respectively

Cub is a Vex who can change into a human form, and Scar a wizard is the only one who saw him in his natural form

Jellie is actually from the Nether. When his magic started showing up, Scar went into the Nether for something and came back with not what he went for, but a cat.

Welsknight is an elf from the Aether. He doesn’t remember what happened to his home, and doesn’t really know how he even got to the Overworld.

Stress is a Druid. The other Hermits never figured out a Druid can survive in an ice biome.

Jevin was cursed to be a human-shaped slime. He might say that Hypno smells, but slimes can’t smell a thing until they cover it in their slime. Basically, Jevin doesn’t actually know whether or not Hypno smells.

Tango’s half demon, half Nether elf. When people find out, they’re too scared to ask just how that happened.

The rest are either human, or I haven’t actually figured out what they should be. There’s a few that I still need to hash out the details with. So more later, I guess. Enjoy what I got now.

Speaking of Animal Crossing what animal villagers would the hermits be? I can see Grian being a squirrel or a bird, Mumbo being a penguin and Stress being a deer or a rabbit

Stress: Bear Cub (white like a polar bear cause ice and she’s strong. Also adorable)

Mumbo: Bird (bird brained kinda and very wirey. Reminds me of a bird)

Iskall: Wolf. (Idk why it just fits. I guess independent and will probably kill you but deep down is a good boy)

Cleo: Kangaroo (mom friend, will kick you to death)

False: Eagle (Very fierce and majestic also the goggles remind me of Amelia)

Cub: Tanooki. (Capitalism. See, Tom Nook.)

Scar: Hamster (is babey. So god damn precious)

hi! I made a hermitcraft AU! based off of a lot of headcanons but then i got an actual story going so heres some stuff!!

its called the Redstone Soda AU. Basically it has all the evil hermits and also suspicious stew is the alcohol there. Redstone Soda was made by Grian who, after seeing Iskall and Mumbo taste redstone (tastes sour and sweet and spicy and also like rocks), he turned it into a drink with the following ingredients: Dragon’s Breath, Redstone, Glowstone, Suspicious Stew, Redstone, Blaze Rods, and Bottled Water. Redstone soda keeps you up for 5 days. It is basically a dangerous energy drink and everyone loved it before X banned it Python and Doc tried it. within an hour they became charged creepers and it took forever to get the effect off

some of the things in this au includes:

A party was held in a forest where Doc and Grian had too much suspicious stew and ended up in a cave deep underground with no elytra, no armor, and their clothes were ripped up. A rescue team formed of wels and false had to come and get them.

stress got ahold of Grian’s infinity gauntlet while drunk on suspicious stew and her wish was to make all creepers pink. Doc and Python also had to deal with being pink for a month before Impulse got them to their original color with some forbidden  bedrock techniques.

Doc and Bdubs snuck into grians hobbit hole to steal some redstone soda to try it with Beef and Etho in the jungle before X took it away.

Badimes is the evil hermit boss, alongside EX ofc. when the hermits are sad, Badtimes makes meals for them, and sometimes even gets Helli (Evil Jelle) to snuggle with the hermit to make them feel better

Jellin and Groon (Evil Jevin and Evil Grian) are both red slime creatures. They are a trouble duo.

Tango is allergic to mangos. Which PhantomTek (Evil Tango) constantly tries to abuse but the only tangos in the nether are grown by Groon, who sets up traps to keep Phantom out of his mango farm.

CubVex has vex magic that can separate a persons mentalities into two separate people. He has done this on Cub, which has birthed one of the most evil of the evilhermits, CubBan. CubBan can merge two people together, and when he tried to merge Cub and Grian together, he accidentally merged Doc and Iskall, creating Doskall87, who then went on to immediately punch Bdubs. X had to unmerge them with a command block

Jevin got his elytra back after they fell in lava multiple times. When he got them back, he flew and waved at grian who was circling him as a hello. This caused an imbalance because his elytra focuses heavily on arm sensory and so he spun and crashed into grian and they both fell in the ocean at 400 feet up. Impulse had to save him.

Cub made a roomba for Scar while Jellie was missing in the jungle, so while the hermits were searching for Jellie, Scar formed an emotional bond with the roomba and the roomba became the new pet for Scar.

Iskall is the 3rd most flexible hermit, followed by Grian and then Badtimes.

Iskall, Cleo, False, and Wels have a small club where they do training nights. They get to bench-press stress and also fight with hand to hand combat with Doc

Bdubs sleeps so much, that whenever he starts a late project and doesnt have a bed available, he doesnt focus that its night and he just drops out of the sky, passed out.

Grian and Bdubs engaged in a mud eating contest during the beginning of the season. Bdubs won but both of them werent seen out of their houses for a while

Wels, Ren, and Doc went camping in a spruce wood in the early season. It was a very calming camping week even if they were covered in bug bites, singing under the stars with a campfire infront of them while eating smores was definitely a vibe.

On holidays, Scar, Stress, and TFC cook holiday meals for all the hermits.

Bdubs tried to surf on a wither while both drunk and experiencing the effects of redstone soda. Etho, after witnessing this in the jungle, he walked off the path to climb a tree and scream.
